Ms. Shanika Brown is the best apartment manager I have worked with in a long time. She goes above and beyond to help her residents and keeps her word. This is a great complex thats competitively priced for the area. Highly recommend it for your new home! Its also super close to uptown and all the high amenities of the city. Cant beat it!!
Even though I do not work for LURE Apartments, the staff are on point. They welcome me with open arms. Ms. Shaneka is amazing. She was so thoughtful of me and made feel like I already lived on the property. Its good when people can make you feel apart.
The managerial staff at Lure were very helpful. Shanika made sure our entire application process ran smoothly and was in contact with us through it all to help make sure any questions we had along the way were answered. I had heard nothing but good comments about them from current residents, which was definitely on display when we decided to move into here. Thanks to the Lure staff and thank you Shanika!
I just wanted to drop a note about how great the staff @ The Lure is, Shanika, Lisa and the maintenance personnel are a big part of why we continue to lease @ The Lure.
It has been such a great experience living on the Lure Property. The property is taken very good care of. Office staff has been great, they are very kind, personable and make you proud to call Lure home. Maintenance is great, I would like to point out that maintenance man, Anier, demonstrates exemplary customer service and excellent follow through. I’m glad to be a part of this community.
I was so impressed with this property. Pictures looking like identical to the actual units.
I been living here for 4 yrs and I must say that I love it here. The manager always go above and beyond for her community. We all have her personal number and can call and text her anytime with a response right back. I can say there is no other manager that would do this.
Great and, excellent place to live the staff is great friendly and, I would commend them on how we are all a family. I feel safe and secure thanks to security that is on the premise. I’m going to resign my lease for another year
REM took over management this week, The phone number on their notice is out of service, office is closed, no maintenance, this place is a dump, do not rent here.
Very clean and quiet property. You will not be disappointed.
I lived here for 5 years and absolutely loved it! So close to everything you need without the hassle of downtown traffic and congestion. Parking is a bit annoying but at least there is visitor parking. Rarely did it fill up.Maintenance team was always quick to respond and handle problems. I had my water heater go out and he stayed late to get me a new one installed.I would live here again if I moved back to Dallas :)
Amazing property with great staff. Love the Manager Shanika Brown she is the sweetest and gets things done :)
Its amazing what a good property management company can do to improve the experience for our little community!! Karya has gone above and beyond to make me feel like LURE cares about me and my happiness... and also my health and safety during the current pandemic. Maintenance requests are completed super quickly, the staff is helpful and friendly. Its an older, quiet complex and very conveniently located. They continue to make improvements and renovations and seem to genuinely care about the feedback from tenants. Give them a try!!
Great and excellent place to live the staff is great friendly and I would commend them on how we are all a family. I feel safe and secure thanks to security that is on the premise. I’m going to resign my lease for another year
I lived at The Lure apartments from February 2018-February 2020. I can honestly say that this is the first time I have nothing negative to say about an apartment complex or its management company. The complex was always clean and the management company was always visible. I would still be there today if I hadn’t needed to relocate. The front office is full of real people who were never too busy to help me out. Maintenance was always responsive to requests and usually went above and beyond to make sure my issues were resolved. This isn’t the newest complex in the area, but you will not find a better value....period. From the management company to the maintenance department, you won’t find anything comparable to The Lure. And no, I have nothing to gain from leaving this review. Just know I’ve never thought “I’d lease from them again” about any complex. And I would lease at The Lure again tomorrow. I highly recommend giving them a chance.
I love living at the Lure very spacious floor plans. The office staff here is amazing. Since this new company has taken over this has been a pleasant stay so far.
I have been living at the Lure for a year now and cannot say enough good things about my apartment complex, neighbors or the employees. The location is great and considering how close it is to Cedar Springs, it’s fairly quiet. The price is VERY fair for the space you get, location and upgrades in the apartments. The new owners rock! Way to go Karya Property Management, on this one. They didn’t just throw anybody in the front office, but people who seem to really enjoy what they do. Any time I have an issue, concern or quick question, they are always (and I mean ALWAYS) quick, friendly and don’t make me feel like a chore.I’ve always had positive interactions with my neighbors. It’s a smaller community, so you get to know the people who live there. We all kind of watch out for each other and are pretty willing to help a neighbor with a cup of sugar, dog sitting, carrying groceries, so on. There are also fun cookouts, pool parties, movies nights, etc., that give us the opportunity to get to know newcomers.(Side note: I recently renewed my lease and was given a huge discount on my rent next month and got a free carpet cleaning. How awesome is that? Right in time for Christmas.)If you are looking for a quiet, affordable, clean, well ran establishment to call home, I beg you to stop by the Lure. You will not regret at least giving it a look.
Karya Property Management took over about a year ago and their entire on-site team is wonderful. They keep the property clean and are on a first name basis with the people in the community. If you want a a more personal place to live with nice people and a lovely creek, this is the place to be. It is convenient to all major roads.
This a great place to live because the area is quiet, everyone keeps to themselves, and the management team is awesome. The apartment complex hosted a pool party this summer. I had a great time meeting and getting to know neighbors living here. Come to the Lure. - ADJ
I moved in August 2018 and I had a slight problem with moving in, but Cat and Taylor were very quick to resolve the issue! I didnt have to say, do or ask for anything. One thing I love about the complex is that they are very direct and honest. I really appreciate their honesty and problem solving efforts.I honestly love my apartment. Its very spacious, great amenities, and great service. Here at the Lure, there arent any hidden fees, rent is a great price, many parking spaces available... My apartment comes with a fireplace and large walk in closet. The complex is close to uptown so plenty of activities and places to visit around. Honestly a dream to live here. Joe is very quick to respond to all of my service requests. Cat and Taylor and the rest of the front office staff feel like family. I can come in and talk with them about every and anything. Cant wait to resign my lease!
Dont rent here, karya management took over a year ago and they charge luxury prices for low end apartments and amenities. And theyll definitely try and charge you extra exorbitant amounts of fees if they can. Save your time and your wallet and just rent somewhere else, somewhere thats an actual luxury apartment. Glad i finally went somewhere else.
Dont move here, They are just the worst, They dont have a security guard anymore and so my boyfriends $200 raybans were stolen and his car broken into, they promised me a clicker for the gate 7 months ago, they always add fees to my rent, even when I discussed with them they go back on their word. Dont report my review, please consider something better, management here is bad. I dont ever want to recommend anybody here, I could go on and on but my review will probably get deleted.
Great place to live!
This place has gotten to be worse than the projects that are down the street because of the manager. Crime is up and cars are always being broken into. The manager doesnt respond to any maintenance requests unless you message them constantly or hound them. DONT LIVE HERE
I love the new management crew. Taylor and Cat have been very friendly and their new idea of social outings have been amazing. The events gave me opportunities to meet my neighbors. Also Joe and Andy the maintenance guys are super.Although, I did have some issues with a/c over the summer couple of times, Joe and Andy got to the problem quickly.
I love living at the Lure Cedar Springs. I find the front office staff to be helpful, fun and always thinking of ways to make living here great.
I love these apartments! Ollie, at the front desk, was so helpful ensuring I found the perfect space. Since I moved in a few months ago, I have been pleasantly surprised how quiet the property is. Parking is great and any service calls I have placed have received a quick turnaround.
We were searching for a new apartment, came across the Lure apartments and found a two bedroom we liked. We were asked to put down a refundable $150 deposit before signing the lease. After further due diligence on the property we decided to pursue another apartment complex. We reached out to the Lure apartments for our refund and were told the check would be mailed. After multiple follow ups, crickets. I am a glad we decided to go somewhere else.
I think this is the coolest place for just the right prices. Maintenance is great and the new management is awesome.Brandon is really good at handling issues.Almost two years and still loving it!
Nice apartment for pricing, maintenance is good at maintaining property & responding to work order requests in a timely manner. Management is awesome too - every time we go in to the leasing office, Ollie, & everybody is so welcoming & friendly. Also, pet friendly - huge plus!
Quiet, management friendly, clean, office staff is very friendly, and the office staff has been very cooperative during this pandemic.
Great location and very calm atmosphere. Great and efficient staff, Ollie in the leasing office is the best very considerate, kind, and professional. Always love coming in and visiting main office.
We have lived at The Lure for 6 months now and when we finally get the roach problems under control we find mold in our utilities closet where we don’t even have a washer and dryer. It had spread through the wall and into the living room and hallway closet. We made a work order request immediately after we found the mold and It took days for the Lure to respond. I had to follow up personally before they did. What was their “fix”? Paint over the mold. 2 weeks later we’ve already moved our daughter out for her heath and the Lure has made it clear with their continually slow responses we are not a priority. I can only describe our experience with the Lure as gross. Save yourself the headache and move somewhere else.
Great location. Friendly staff. And quick response.
Office staff are super friendly and the apartment is beautiful . Absolutely love the community as well and the fun things they plan like movie nights !
The best thing about this apartments they have a gentlemen named Marquel that works security at night he is awesome! He does his job me and my husband feel safe because he walks all around to make sure everyone is safe. Also the maintenance guy Anier is awesome I’m very happy with both really nice guys and professional. Just because of those guys I’ll give The Lure 3 stars. Other than that management is weird.
Lived at the Lure from July 2013-July 2018(5 years). When we first moved here it was an upgrade for us from our previous apartment complex. So obviously we were very excited. But just like a lot of other reviews the apartments only look nice in photos on the website. We were very simple renters with very low expectations from the apartment complex and management. My husband and I worked from 7 AM until 5 PM so barely were home to see what goes on during the day.But boy! even our lowest expectations caused us so much hassle. Our downstairs neighbor constantly harassed us knocking on our door at 4 AM in morning because he thought we were rolling around suitcases while the truth was like most other normal people we were SLEEPING!!! He broke our car window twice. We reported it to the management but they didnt want to be involved unless we had some kind of proof. Our starting rent for 1 bedroom (632 sqft) apartment was $800 something and in 5 years it was more than $1100. This was without any kind of improvement to the apartment. When we finally decided to move-out I called the office and spoke with the assistant manager of when our move-out date would be. He gave me a date on the phone(my fault that I didnt ask for it in the writing) and turned out he miscalculated the days. So upon his confirmation I called our electricity company for cancellation at the apartment on that date and turned out we cancelled 2 days early. So guess what the management charged $50 for early termination of the electricity. Along with the $50 they charged us another $219 for repairs. I understand they would charge for wear and tear because we were there for 5 years. But we were never provided with a detailed list. Actually we were not provided with a bill at all. A collection agency called to let us know that our account had been reported to them for non-payment. We also never saw the $75 deposit we made when we signed the initial lease. So overall these apartments are not worth the hassle or money. They charge way too much for what is provided.
We toured the apartments and the staff and rooms were quite nice. However, the amount of Duck poop everywhere is just crazy. The whole tour I had to constantly watch where I was walking. I swear I am not exaggerating. Also, the swimming area for tenants is so tiny I dont even know why it exists.Get rid of the ducks and build a bigger swimming pool.
Lived here the summer of 2016. My experience with management was good but I would not rely on the coin laundry service they offer. Limited number of machines and they are tiny. Parking was a pain. Overall Id say this place is average but has a great location.
The lure has been the best place to live. Staff is great and so helpful with everything! I highly recommend living here.
I do not live here, but I recently visited my friends who do. This place was borderline gross. There were ducks in the pool and duck poop was left around the pool area that looked like it had been there for a couple days. Some places the grass and bushes were overgrown; in other areas, they looked like they were about dead - very brown, brittle and barren.I visited them a year or so ago, and it was adequately maintained. What I saw on this recent visit was a stark contrast. This apartment complex place looked way better then than it does now.To say it has aged poorly in the last 18 months would be an understatement.
Sitting outside in my car having a date eating chipotle because i cannot park my car because all of the visitor parking spaces are full. My boyfriend lives here and cannot get ahold of anyone so that we may park and go indoors on this hot night. Terrible, very upset.
Let me start out by saying that there are very obviously a number of fake 5-star reviews on here that were likely efforts by Lure management to boost their overall rating due to the terrible reviews left by tenants.I lived here 05/2015 to 01/2018. For the first year, loved our apartment and the complex. The Paskin Group had just taken over ownership at about the same time we moved in, and over the course of the year after they took over, things went downhill fast. Management was absolutely TERRIBLE. Bikes were stolen regularly from within the complex, but the gate was broken often, sometimes for weeks, and there are no security cameras on site. Ducks pooped all over the parking lot to the point that you could not walk without stepping in it, and the ducks also used the pool as a pond. It got to the point that the pool deck and bottom of the pool were covered in duck feces and filth, yet management couldnt be bothered to take care of the problem. Management allowed one tenant to feed the ducks, which attracted more ducks, as well as raccoons, possums, squirrels, and other wildlife, and resulted in several ducks being run over as they tried to cross the parking lot to get to the food. The mail room was regularly broken into, mailboxes pried open, and mail stolen. Our neighbors were absolutely filthy and apparently had a huge roach problem. After they moved out, they treated their apartment for roaches, which apparently pushed the roaches to our apartment. We are very clean and always kept our apartment immaculate, and notified management immediately when we began noticing roaches. Management did nothing to correct the problem. This went on for 6 months, and roaches by this time had set up residence in the walls and under the refrigerator. Once a roach fell out of the light hanging over our kitchen table onto our dinner guests plate. Countless times I asked them to remove infested refrigerator and treat the walls, but they would not listen. Finally, the refrigerator was removed and the wall was treated, and the roach problem was resolved, after 6mo of hounding management. Yes, I asked for compensation, but it was never received. Upper management ignored me and told me that they did not know me, so they couldnt help me and also you have two minutes to talk. The hot water heater tanks regularly rust through and leak due to age, and I once spent two hours soaking up water with a towel as my apartment slowly flooded, because management couldnt come due to being tied up working on another water heater that was simultaneously doing the same thing. The grounds are in poor condition, as are the buildings. They do, however, keep the entrance landscaping and lawn beautiful. The clubhouse states free wifi, but this is only on their iPads that are connected to pedestals. The gym A/C was broken. Maintenance would mark that repairs had been completed without ever completing the repair. The whole fence is rusted and can be walked through in places, in other held together with zip ties. I could go on, but you get the picture. Under no circumstances could you pay me to live at The Lure Apartments again.
After over 5 years living at the Lure I cant imagine living anywhere else in DFW. Convenient location that is close to dining, night life, and the medical center. This is a great place for young professionals to call home.
The definition of a Slum Lord. My bedroom A/C was broken the whole time and after telling them 3 times to fix it, I finally got fed up and ended up sleeping in the living room the whole time I was there. Gross pool that never got cleaned, never enough parking spaces, loud airplanes flying overhead due to the proximity of location, and the mailroom was always broken into. The real kicker is when I moved out and was his with a $278 bill for damages that allegedly occurred when I left. When I told them I needed to see an invoice, they said sure.. The next 2 days, they called a collection agency on me. This place is run by utter scum.
Worst management company so far. i have lived here for over 4 years. In the 4 years i have been here this complex has changed hands 4 times. The most recent management company Paskin is terrible. They do not keep up with maintenance, property is in shambles. some of the buildings are missing pieces of the roof or the gutters are falling off. There is a giant dirt hole in the back of the property that has been sitting there for almost a year. Many of the buildings have foundation issues that cause cracks above the door ways. they do nothing for the trees or the lawn here. Most of the property is just dirt patches. Parking is terrible and they no longer tow. They have let this place go the hell in a hand basket. When the local management is asked if they are going to do anything about the property they say they cant and that the management company has to approve everything and they wont. When we contacted the management company to voice our concerns they simply told us if we dont like it move. What a great way to run a business. After 4 years of living here and calling this place home. NO MORE. DO NOT MOVE HERE.
I have been living in this place for just 3Months! I just want people to know this before you consider signing a 12 month lease with this place! This place is the absolute opposite of what they portray on their website, their bedrooms are not spacious, their Gym equipment makes noise when you’re using it! There appears to be water on the floor of the gym and is completely awfull! Their “on-site amenities are basically a wall staind shed where they house old washing equipment! Is beyond pathetic! They do not have a “resort” style pool and is not even close! Is filthy all the time because they do not clean it. The worst part about this place is the “staff” specially the manager, when you go up to ask about anything; they seemed to be more interested in getting rid of you than resolving the problem! The type of people who looks at you un and down and thinks they are smarter than you!! How can it get worse? When you put in a maintenance request, they send you and email that says the technician fix it! Except for you get home and the issue has not been resolved, then when you complaint again they give you the silent treatment! Unfortunately I’m stuck here for 10 more months, but if you are reading this, DO NOT MOVE HERE! I was where you’re and I should have chosen better!
When I moved here in 2015, I loved my apartment and the complex. The grounds were maintained, maintenance requests were completed in a timely manner, and management sought out opportunities to improve all of our quality of living. I have seen a steady decline within the past year, however, it has gotten exponentially worse in 2017 (regretfully after I renewed my lease). I have had nothing but issues with management and their lack of communication, the grounds being embarrassing to even bring colleagues/friends around, and bug issues that they took 6 MONTHS to resolve (yes, it was all disgusting, and no they would NOT let me out of my lease). Please note that MANAGEMENT is the problem, not the maintenance crew. Maintenance does the best that they can, and work tirelessly all day, every day to try to keep up. Unfortunately, management has the limited number of maintenance workers at The Lure also required to maintain The Moxie down the street, so they are very understaffed and therefore our property suffers. Pictures are below to show how poorly everything is kept lately. They re-homed ducks earlier this year, however, left all of the nests-- now the ducklings-turned- big ducks only ever stay around our buildings because they allow a single resident to feed cat food to them and all the wild animals around (possums, feral cats, raccoons, birds, etc). They refuse to clean up after the ducks when they defecate all over the sidewalks, pool area, parking spots, and door steps! Any time that I walk my dog, I have to constantly watch that neither of us step in the large piles of duck poop. They have been disregarding everything so much lately to the point where our beautiful pool has turned into a duck POND! Half the time the pool is not working, and ALL the time the ducks are around or in the pool. There is disgusting debris all on the bottom of the pool and there is duck poop all over the sun tanning chairs and pool area. Every summer I have been here has been nice to hang out at the pool; it is always a social event with other residents. This summer, you cant PAY me enough to get in that nasty pool-- NO ONE wants to use the pool that we all have to pay for in our rent amenities. I am beyond frustrated and disappointed in this complex. I do not plan on staying once my lease is up which is the current trend for many of the Lures long-term residents. Management has shown their true colors these past 7 months and their actions speak louder than words. I used to recommend this complex to all of my colleagues and friends because I was proud to live here, but that is not the case now. Please do your research if you look into staying at this complex as I would not want you to suffer as I am now! Thank you.
This complex is one of a kind, management is perfect and well prepared to handle anything, good resident events always are fun to make sure everyone feels welcomed by their hospitality and awesome attitude, everything is in good shape if not in perfect shape security is awesome, we only need to wok a lil bit more in trash and it would be a Perfect place, im planing on being here for a while myself . XOXO your friendly Chef Ricardo
I found the perfect place with a view at The Lure! Could not have found a better home away from home!!!
Wonderful place super convenient to everything, affordable pricing, and nice staff.
The lure finally feels like home...after being here thru several managers, after brandon left we finally have people in the office who seem to be invested in the residents...ollie and noemi are a one!!! sweet, personalbe, and helpful...hope they stick around
All of the reviews before June 2015 are inaccurate. All of the great photos were taken when Trinity managed the property. Now The Paskin Group manages the property, and its gone down the drain.Ive live at this property for 4 1/2 years, and Im about ready to leave. Here are my reasons:MAINTENANCEI live in building 2. When it rains, the area in front of the stairs floods no matter how hard the rain falls. I have issued two maintenance requests on this issue. They have both been checked and completed, yet it is not fixed. The solution has been to put a stepping stone out.The maintenance crew needs help. As far as I know, we have one full-time maintenance manager and one temp worker. I waited nearly one week to have a door knob fixed inside my apartment. All I needed were new screws. Plus, they have the maintenance folks working at The Moxie, another property owned by Paskin, down Cedar Springs Rd. half the time.Back in June 2016, a neighbor of mine had been waiting since February for his A/C to be replaced. He also went two days without a working toilet! Our pool and community area needs help. The grill never has propane available and the pool is never clean. Several exterior lights on the buildings have been out for over 7 months. This is a huge safety concern for those of us who walk our dogs around the property after dark.PAYING RENTThe resident portal applies fees to every payment type accepted. Because of this, the on-site management allows us to write checks each month. The problem with this is the office hours are 8:30AM-5:30PM (business hours), there is no dropbox, and the office is always closed at lunch. Thats unacceptable, especially on the 1st-3rd when residents are paying rent and dont want pay for fees.LANDSCAPINGIn general, the landscaping and the overall upkeep of the property has been terrible. Management lets the grass grow so long in the summer that a small dog could easily get lost it in if it werent a leash! In the winter, its 100% dirt. In many areas, the grass just doesnt grow and we are left with mud pits.In some areas of the grounds, enormous ant piles form and live until the next rain.Mushrooms have popped up in several common areas of the property during the spring/summer.There has been a hole in the fence between the condos next door and Lure. Frequently, residents from the condos come over and let their dogs do their business. Its a safety issue at the end of the day.MAIL/LAUNDRYThe mailroom/laundry room is over 100 degrees inside in the summer. I was told that A/C in the this area has to wait because several residents are waiting for A/C maintenance inside their apartment homes. Also, the mailboxes were recently broken into.DOG PARKOur dog park isnt safe! The fence around the dog park has large holes around the bottom on the fence line that even medium dogs could sneak through. Our community is full of dog families, and we need a safe place to play.WILDLIFEWe have several families of ducks that live on property which we all love. There are new baby ducks all the time. Weve seen them grow over the last month. Unfortunately, they ducks leave a mess (and they dont clean up after themselves). I honestly cant remember the last time the property sidewalks and apartment corridors were power-washed. There is duck poop everywhere.THE REAL PROBLEM - THE PASKIN GROUP DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR RESIDENTS.The problem is not with the local management - the problem is at the corporate level. I reached out to corporate in June 2016 and again last week for answers and solutions. My problems were passed back down to the local management. When I asked to speak to someone at corporate instead with a few other concerned residents, the regional manager told me that she doesnt want to take a very simple call and turn it into something much bigger. In fact, Ive asked to leave at the end of lease for voicing their concerns.
I just moved after living here for 2.5 years, If you are looking for a quite complex with a decent living place these apartments will work. My main complaint about living here is the current management, they will smile and be your friend until you sign the contract, after that if you have issues or a disagreement in my expereience they have shown probably the worst customer service I have dealt with in a professional setting. We had 3 expereicenes over the last 2 years that we wanted an explanation of why we were being overcharged, not only did we not get a true explanaiton on these things, management would never consider what we were saying and just assume we were wrong. In short we were charged twice for damages that the apartment complex was responsible for and maintanence never fixed although we put in several work orders for the same request. Also during these multiple issues our conversations would end with them saying theyd call me back, I never got a call back, I was always the one to initiate the communication, this wasnt a 1 time thing this was 15-20 times. I wouldnt live here again simply so I didnt have to put up with the poor customer service. The pool/bbbq area is tiny and the gym doesnt have much to it.
Great Location & Great Residents
Great place
