Updated Aug8th 2021 - Last week my daughter was contacted by new roommate who signed the lease couple days ago, they assigned her the room we were promised. So it looks like you get cheaper rates and better rooms the later you sign the lease. When I emailed Mitchell about requesting for that window room again, I was reminded again of how stupid we were to sign the lease without having them write down the unit and room on it. They keep blaming on previous leasing person but that person was hired by them and working for them, the management needs to own the responsibility for that.We signed the lease for particular unit and window room within that unit, made sure with then Leasing manager Kylie that our daughter will have that room. Asked her to put it on the lease but she said, they dont put it on lease but promised us that our daughter will get that room within that unit on that floor. We paid premium as well. Now they changed her room, floor and unit just because someone else wanted that room and unit. How is this fair. We are definitely pursuing legal action against this management. I called several times but the current leasing manager Mitchell does not have guts to talk to me on the phone, the person on the phone said only way to communicate with Mitchell is via email. Email I received says that they cannot honor what previous Manager promised. My daughter has been crying and her whole year will be ruined if she stays in this building.

I wanted to warm the new residents that the management is scam, they care less about the customers. here is my experienceIm a parent of an college student who recently tried to rent an apartment housing at Moon tower.Back in May, we agreed to rent the apartment at moon tower in Austin for the upcoming semester. We wanted a room with windows. My daughter always has particular anxiety staying in room with no windows. At the beginning of the July, we got the room assignment. My daughter discovered that the room she was assigned to has no window. She reached out to the property trying to resolve the issue. it has been more than 4 weeks now, the property refused to do anything about - the rate for rooms without windows are lower than rooms with a window.below is the response we got from them. the exchange is a long pursuit.“ the issue is with the previous leasing manager who already left,. we can’t do anything about it”“ you must show us something written down” but the previous leasing manager said she would write it down“ We will look into it… and will call you back …. “ x days later, no call back. so we followed up…“ We are still looking into it…. will call you back…” x days later… no call back whatsoever.“ sorry. there is nothing we can do. You always have the option to break the lease and pay half of the contract ( ~$7000$)” . seriously?Eventually we decided to call the Corporate for helpleft two voice emails to the regional property manager but got no response....Eventually talked to customer services. the person said he would reach out to the property and call me back. Two week later, there has been no response whatsoever after I left follow up voicemails.I sent an email to their management team via the contact they posted on their website. this was last week. You can probably guess . yes. no response whatsoever.the company website days “You speak, We listen”. but it is a complete joke. the company committed nothing but lies and treating customers as fools.

As the guru of West Campus apartment complexes, I feel compelled to warn prospective residents by sharing my abysmal, deeply upsetting experience with Moontower. This may be long, but I implore you to read all the way through.Like all WC apartment buildings, Moontower is a scam. While Moontower’s social media and website flaunt its “luxury” amenities, “touch-less coffee bar,” and “rooftop pool,” reality and personal experience reveals the ugly truth. On Sunday mornings, one can easily find beer cans, puke, or even dog feces in the elevator. One might suggest to that unfortunate person: avoid these disturbing sights and smells by taking the stairs. Well, sir, I did.In an attempt to escape the smell of puke, beer, and dog poop, I entered the stairwell. After walking down a few flights, I suddenly realized that nowhere in Moontower is safe. I happened upon a watermelon that had been smashed open by some drunken beast. That watermelon remained in the stairwell for two weeks—aka, until the smell became so unbearable Moontower had to act. In terms of deceptive advertising, Moontower gets 5 stars. If you want a small rooftop pool and don’t mind paper-thin walls, be Moontower’s guest. Rent? $1400+ per month. Times per month residents wished they lived elsewhere? 1401+ per month. Do your maths.

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY Forget about loading screens and slow Wi-Fi — high-speed internet and cable are included in your monthly installment. All-inclusive living has never been this luxurious! THERE IS NO CABLE, we dont even get longhorn games, not to mention terrible WiFi in the building drops as I’m mid quiz causing the quiz to submit as it tries to reconnect and when my roommates and I attempted to get our own so we could successfully do work from our room it was not allowed, if you’ve ever used mycampusnet and know how awful it is or want to watch anything on live tv, do not live here

IF YOU SEE THIS, please sort the reviews by date and you will see that almost THIRTY five star reviews were from the exact same day. Not a coincidence. seems like theyre trying to drown out the real reviews (which arent very positive). If you cant trust an apartment to have honest reviews (instead of bribing college students to up their rating), how can you trust them for a secure and safe place to live?signed a lease for this 2021-2022 year. Management changed over the summer and any guarantees made by old management is no longer being held. terrible customer service. dont be fooled by the gorgeous show room and spin studio. the cost does not justify the amount of stress caused by poor management who will lie to get you to sign. take caution when working with them

You probably dont wanna live at an apartment that gives college kids in a bar free beer to leave five star reviews. Just sayin

Moontower is a very nice apartment with great amenities, however, the elevators and parking garage are a complete mess. Often only one of the three elevators are working meaning you have to wait 10 minutes for the elevator to come to your floor only to find that it is already packed and you have to take the stairs. This issue should have been resolved in August when the apartment first opened but it is now the end of January. I can only imagine the mess this would create if students werent in online classes. Additionally, for what they charge for parking, they need to start towing individuals that dont pay to park.

At moontower, me and my sorority sisters have been treated very rudely by staff. Almost all of my PC lives in moontower this year and have almost had nothing but complaints. Do not let the photos and fake reviews deceive you. I have a list below of some of the biggest complaints.Nicole, the manager, is nothing but condescending to people reaching out about extreme security issues (only one guard at night, everyone else leaves at 5. No one is to be found and the on call doesent answer and has no voicemail box set up). She acts like we are living in this complex for free.I had a MacBook Air 2015 I brought with me and two days after using the plug with no surge protector, it completely died. I took it to a certified Mac apple provider and he told me, in person and in writing, that it was the fault of an electrical surge. When I provided this to the manager, she rudely said she wouldn’t be refunding me because it could have happened anywhere. As if. She also said it was my job to get a surge protector to protect my items. That doesent make sense, because I used the same setup at callaway with the same computer and never had an issue. She also said her computers die all the time, which also doesent make sense bc I had that computer for years before and no issues had occurred. I had to buy a new one on my own.People have called about maintenance issues such as toilets not working, washers not working, fans being too loud, or dishwashers backing into the sink. The staff rudely responds to these and sometimes won’t fix them for weeks. My electricity shorted twice in a day and the manager told me that it was my fault for having too many things plugged in. I had nothing plugged in.They have so many hidden fees that they will nag you about until you pay. They literally make you pay a premium for so many things not included in the website.People have walked into their apartments to find homeless men on their couches. How does this happen in a so called secure environment? They have sent back my friends packages because she didn’t collect them for a week while she was visiting her grandpa. They sent them all back to the different locations and now she cannot be refunded and most have been lost.An actual FIRE occurred and no fire alarms went off. Feel like they could have at least used the texting system they love to use to remind me to re sign with them. The WiFi goes out randomly and no one wants to fix it for you. In an age where most of us are doing online classes, you can probably see how this is an issue. My advice, DO NOT LIVE HERE. They act so cool and hip on Instagram but honestly you can probably find better service at callaway. Why pay top dollar for wampus housing in a place that is not safe at all? Pool is nothing like what it seems on Instagram, same with the gym.

I’ve had a pretty negative experience at Moontower thus far.Management is pretty rude and I’ve caught them in a few mistakes before. Double check every charge they assign to you. They’ve apologized to me before over miscalculating. When I first signed a lease I wanted to park my car at Moontower, but they have a very small garage so I asked to get put on the waitlist and her response was fairly rude and hinted that I probably had no chance. Instead of handling that professionally she said “what’s your first name” and no additional info. There could be 100s of residents with my same name. Lol. Never heard back on that by the way.Our AC in our unit also went out and it took about two weeks to fully get to working again. It was 80 degrees inside for a while, not to mention leakage. There’s was really no social distancing done until enough people complained about it. One Friday night there was a frat party going on in our literal gym. There were people hanging out on the workout machines drinking. At least 100 people not masked. Security guard did nothing, and the number of people in the gym at a time during the day is never monitored.Lots of gym equipment is broken and hasn’t been fixed. Weird for a new complex. Not sure what I’m paying such high rent for.In addition to this a few girls came around knocking on everyone door sharing a story about how a homeless man got into their apartment unit in the middle of the night and fell asleep on their couch. Management didn’t want to advice anyone of this and kept it hidden from residents. The study lounge doors remain unlocked so basically anyone can get into the second floor/ study lounge area. While the loud construction noises may not be their fault I wouldn’t advice living here unless you want to sleep with earplugs. A loud truck wakes my entire floor and surrounding floors up around 4:30 am and 8 am every morning. Sometimes they even come at 2 am. Last for about 30 minutes. They sent out a message about advising residents about this noise for two weeks but it’s been going on since I moved in early August and it’s almost November now.

The management at Moontower has not taken COVID-19 guidelines seriously. As a resident I have received numerous emails claiming that we are required to wear masks any time we are outside of our apartments - including in the hallways, elevators, fitness areas, and amenity spaces. However, on the Moontower instagram page, they post pictures of residents in the common spaces; such as, the gym and most recently the study areas without masks on. I dont understand why management emails the residents about COVID-19 precautions, when they are also promoting communal spread by blatantly posting photos of residents without masks on in the common areas. It seems like management does not prioritize the safety of residents. I do not advise living at Moontower.
