Shortly after landing in DC for vacation from Tx I broke one of my dip nails pretty bad. I went into panic mode researching to find a good place to get my nails redone. 4pm on a Friday and they didn’t hesitate getting me in. All were friendly and I’ve never had such a great set of dipped nails, seriously. None of them seemed to be rushing their clients and they all seemed to be talking to their regulars like old friends. Seems like a great place to go if I lived here.

I am so happy that I came across persimmon nail spa! Its such a warm and friendly environment and very sanitary, which was extremely important to me during this time. The technicians sanitize everything after every guest and the safety precautions are not only posted, but also followed. My lovely technician also gave me a cute cloth mask which I thought was a sweet touch. Most importantly, I loved how my nails turned out and how stylish and chic they are. I would definitely recommend you swing by and check this salon out. Treat yourself, you deserve it!

I used to love this place but the customer service and quality have deteriorated over time. My experience on June 20, 2021 was TERRIBLE.I called to make an appointment the week before and asked if they did gel tips (Apres nails). The person on the phone was in a rush so they said yes even though I felt there may have been a miscommunication.When I arrived, it became clear that they did not have that service so we decided on an alternative. The nail tech was apparently irritated by my wanting what they didn’t have and my experience went downhill from there. The tech suggested nail tips because some of my nails were short. She put tips on all my nails and was upset when I asked her to file the length down. I showed her a picture of the color and design of how I wanted my nails and she kept asking me what color I wanted. I kept referring her to the picture and she kept asking what color I wanted!Then she filed ALL of my nails crooked and I had to walk her, finger by finger, to get the shape aligned. At some point I had to take the file and file them myself because she had an attitude about not getting it right.After almost 2 hours, the nails finally looked like what I asked for and it was time to wash my hands. The tech began massaging lotion into my hands with all the powder and dust from the nail process (prior to washing my hands). I asked to go wash my hands and she acknowledged that I was supposed to wash my hands before they massage with lotion (or you just wash the lotion off). Before I went to wash my hands, the tech told me that it was my fault that my nails took so long because I “don’t know what I want.” Meanwhile I showed her the same picture over and over.I went to wash my hands and by the time I came back to the station for lotion, the tech had left and moved on to another customer without a word and with a glare. I said nothing and went to pay.The man at the front desk began calculating my bill and the numbers were looking pretty generous. When I asked for a breakdown, turned out the total provided couldn’t be justified and he had to recalculate properly. My bill was significantly less than initially quoted (at least $30 less).This was my experience. If you don’t want this, just go somewhere else. There are too many nail places for minorities to go to than for one to come here and be disrespected.

I made a last minute appointment, and I was taken care of right away. The man who did my acrylic nails was amazing, from the conversation to his work. He knew that I don’t get my nails done often, so he took time to help me pick out colors and didn’t rush even when the store had closed. He gave me extra at home care for my terrible cuticles, and decided last minute to add the gem on my finger. I didn’t pick it out, but he told me that he wanted me to feel like a princess for my birthday coming up. Wow, I’ve never had such a great interaction with a nail tech! Thank you for making me feel so special! I’m still smiling about how much he uplifted me.

This is one of the best nail spas in Washington DC. The staff is incredibly friendly and professional. This is definitely my new nail spot !

I love this place! They offer complimentary drinks and the ladies are so nice and very helpful. The owner of the store offered to do my lashes last minute and gave me a great deal on them! I will definitely go back again!

Place is nice and clean but they tried to soak off my nails in a bowl of acetone, had to ask for wraps. Then they put the wrong color dip on my nails. Finally, forced me to pay over Venmo because “all the internet in dc was down”.

This was my second time here. The first time was amazing and my gel manicure lasted 3 weeks. Second time not so much. Got my gel manicure on a Wednesday afternoon as of Friday morning all but two nails are completely gone. Gel is supposed to last minimum 2 weeks without chipping and this has never happened to me anywhere else. Worst part is this happened right as I’m leaving town for a wedding. Don’t trust this place!

My nails looked AMAZING!! I got gel extensions and felt super fabulous. My pedicure was also nice. Nice ladies that work meticulously.

Nail tech cut me, left polish all over fingers, and was clumsy in general application/shaping. Going to go elsewhere for nails.

After touring the White House, we stopped at a local cafe. Enjoy lunch and we were so tired that we looked up nail salon closest to me and this showed up. I made a phone call and an appointment for my son and I to have a pedicure. The salon is very high volume traffic, our pedicures were excellent and the complimentary drinks were an added bonus for a wonderful experience!! Neither of us received a rush job and we were able to relax. The massage and work done was outstanding. In fact, I am a cosmetologist and know the proper procedures and our techs went to a higher end service as a cost that was so inexpensive! Next time we head up to DC, we will be sure to stop in and make Persimmon pedicures part of our tradition. What a surprise hidden gem we stumbled upon. As far as hygiene, all tools were sterilized in the bag and they have a water basin tub plastic wrap as well. To be expected with a booked salon, there was much noise yet the service and drinks made our visit so relaxing. My son gets clear coat and I picked a regular pink, no gel, and the color lasted for months, without chipping, until I ended up trimming them over that time and the new nail was clear of polish. I love this nail salon! Its very comfortable and clean. They use disposable liners for their pedicure stations, they have a huge collection of polishes, including gel and powder. Its also happy hour every time you go because they offer you a drink as soon as you sit down, including champagne!

I’m not from DC but I decided to get my nails done after visiting the white house. The location is amazing and walkable to many attractions, but the customer service is spectacular. The man who greeted us was very friendly and helped us with finding a great color for our nails. Once we started our pedicure, the same gentleman offered us drink. We declined, but were amazed at the hospitality! The woman who worked on my nails, Ann or Anna, was spectacular. She did such a great job on my nails! I had my nails long but one broke, so she added on a tip and you literally cannot tell which nail has a tip on it. Ann also did my eyebrows and they look the best they’ve ever looked. I normally don’t care to leave the reviews, but I feel like this place deserves it

Got a gel manicure and it is just terrible. I asked them to fix a few of my nails and they started trying to peel it off and took my skin with it as well. I got home and the gel is already peeling. A very expensive bad manicure. Additionally, they charge a 10% upcharge due to the virus.

Got my nails done there 10 days ago. My pedicure started coming off within a day. At other salons Ive gone 2-3 weeks before chipping on my toes. Also got SNS dip on my fingers. Started chipping a few days ago. Should last for 3 weeks. Horrible. Tried it because its close to work and was in a rush. Ill never go back.

Definitely follows the sanitation rules, used disposable basin liners, all pedicure set are sealed and disposable. Foot towels were laundered. They also service the customer immediately.

I just had a terrible experience at this nail spa. First and foremost, customer service is very bad and the ladies who work there are rude. They tell you one price upfront and charge you a much higher price afterward. But thats not even the point of this review; their work is terrible and although youre paying a ton of money thinking your getting quality work, you are not. I left the salon with different shaped toenails and despite of pointing it to the ladies, they completely ignored my request to fix the nails. I walked out of here with terrible nails, I wouldnt ever go back here. If you want quality work and someone who listens to your needs, this place isnt where you want to be as the ladies rush you out.

They are open, starting June 22nd, I had to call them to make an appt. I came in for SNS mani and gel pedi with Diane and she is amazing! If you do decide on this nail salon, please call to make your appt. They are practicing social distancing and making sure to keep their salon sanitized.

This place is awesome! Very clean and new equipment (chairs, towels etc), great variety of nail polish brands and colors .The owner is great. Very nice to guests and always accommodating .Diana is amazing! My nails always look great :)I’ve requested her every time I visit this salon.

Great nail salon! Tried it for first time because in the downtown area but I will travel away from my neighborhood for this again!! Really relaxing environment, good prices, really nice people who work there and the pedicure was really good!! My feet look excellent and I was very relaxed there!

I was frustrated after going to three different nail salons on a Saturday. I had seen this nail place in particular but never had time to stop. Needless to say Im happy I did. Leo was my tech and he was awesome. He gave great conversation and the atmosphere was relaxing

Pretty disappointed with my experience here!My friend and I were spending our last day in DC and decided to get our nails done. Looking at the reviews, we were excited to go here. The acrylics looked great.When we arrived, the prices were higher than I thought theyd be, but I figured that were paying for quality.I decided to get SNS nails with tips. I asked the tech for coffin-shaped nails. When she was buffing my nails, she burned me a few times. She put the tips on and didnt show me before she started working. I quickly noticed they were poorly shaped and crooked, which I asked her to fix. She completely redid one of my nails but it was still crooked. She continued with the SNS and I figured shed clean them up after she was done dipping them, but the shape didnt change. The nails are so crooked you can see my natural nail under.Eventually I talked to the manager and someone else finished up my nails. They were only slightly better though. There were several hairs embedded in them and theyre very thin and crooked. For $52, I expect a LOT more than this.To top it all off, my nail already cracked. I called and they will not give me a refund. Incredibly disappointed, I wasted nearly $60 on these terrible nails

Stopped in when I was staying near by for the weekend and got a manicure. Prices were ok and it was clean. Wide polish selection. If I lived in DC I would find another place to go regularly but there is nothing wrong with this place.

I was looking for a salon off of the Silver line that wasnt too far from my place in NoVA. Persimmon had good reviews online and the pricing on their website was in line with what I was looking to pay for SNS on my natural nails. I dropped in after work on a Wednesday and after signing in did not wait long to be seen. The manager of the salon was able to give me the exact design I showed him a picture of and was very friendly. Ill definitely be going back and would highly recommend this salon.

Usually they do a great job, but recently one of the ladies rushed doing my nails and was very rude. She tried to take off my acrylic poking at it on the edges and hurt my nail. I let her know it hurt but she did it again a few more times. Very disappointed since I come here often.Terrible customer service and sloppy job.

Ive been to Persimmon about 4 or 5 times now and I must say that theyre best tech is Henry!! Hes my go-to person and its very attentive in making sure his clients are completely satisfied with his work.

DEE DEE and all the girls were wonderful. We were having a Mother ans Daughters weekend and the girls and I throughly enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely go back!

The salon is nice, clean, and plays pleasant music in the background - not too loud. I was greeted and seated right away. And even offered a drink (water, tea, wine, bubbly) - a lovely touch! The reason for three stars is that my manicurist was brusque and yanked my hands. Also, I got the SNS manicure that was advertised. I asked when I was told I was done why there was no work on my cuticles and no hand massage (as stated in the brochure). I was then informed that to have that also was another $15 dollars, and I should have stated that I wanted it first. I expressed my surprise and they offered to provide the service for $10 (happily with another technician). I had already paid $47 for an SNS manicure, which in my view was an incomplete service without any attention to cuticles or hand softening. I may give them one more try, but Ive had better service at less expensive salons.

This place is ok but the person that did my feet he was pretty much busy but I will come back at some point maybe later on at some time.

I got a Basic Pedicure, a Gel Manicure and eyebrow threading done. The service is okay - nothing exceptional. The pedicure was completed in less than 15 mins which I thought was a little too fast. My technician wasnt the most friendly either. While I was getting my manicure done she snapped at me a couple of times to change the position of my hand instead of asking me politely. The good is the 10% student discount. The eyebrow threading wasnt great either. My eyebrows have looked better before. Will probably not come back again.

I called to make an appointment and thought it was set but they did not have the appointment.My technician kept asking me if I wanted services that I told her I didnt want, I told her no three times. Then she said something to another technician and then that person started trying to convince me to get it it done I said no to her a few times. Now Im angry and told them my no means no, how many times do I have to say no for you guys to understand.I have no desire to ever visit this place again when they dont respect their customers request.

Great, no frills nail spa that offers massage as well. Knowledgeable technicians and great color selection for mani/pedis. They are priced decently, and offer complimentary drinks! This is easily a solid go-to spot for your pampering needs between the hustle and bustle that is D.C.

Fast & professional service

The spa is beautiful and clean. Nail polish variety is great, the complimentary beverages an add-on and the comfy lazy boy chairs amazing. But the actual pedicure wasnt great. She was in too much hurry and literally finished the pedicure in 15 minutes. A little disappointed because of that. They didnt even remove the calous properly.

I will never come here again. Waste of time and money. I’d advise to stay away from this type of business where they’re after your money and have no sense of customer service.

Was my first time here and I have never paid so much for a full set acrylics and waited 1:30 to let them dry and still get ruined. Don’t recommend at all.

My first time there was okay. The nail tech didn’t take particular care, but it was fine. The second time both nail techs were unprofessional. One nicked by skin because she was busy looking around at other things. The other filed my natural nail almost down to the skin and was annoyed when I told her not to file anymore. I will never step foot in this place again. Not worth the money.

Worst job on my nails since I’ve been getting them done. In addition they didn’t listen to my request for coffin shaped nails and basically gave me no consistent shape, and then charged me twice what I would normally pay for a full set. Never going back here again.

Awful service. The lady clowned my eyelash extensions to try and get me to buy hers. Nail tech acted as if she knew what I wanted before I came in. They also can’t shape nails. The pedicure is the only thing that earned them 2 stars.

First time at this place today and must say the service is very bad. The lady who was doing my gel nail was talking in her language to her colleague the whole time while doing my nail. They did not have the color i wanted and was said the one color that i picked is discontinued. The lady who was doing my nails got upset that i took 2-3 minutes to pick the color. Never ever go to this place if you are looking for a good service with a value of $ you spend.

Visiting DC for business and desperately needed a manipedi. Very surprised by some comments below.This wasnt my 1st rodeo-- and Persimmon Spa went above and beyond. I got the Persimmon Pedi, and basic mani. Altogether spent 75 mins at the salon. The ladies were so accommodating, conversational, even staying past closing to ensure I was taken care of (I truly appreciate it!!). Of course, complimentary wine was a great touch to end the evening. Will be returning.

Very nice mani and pedi, reasonably priced compared to other salons in DC. They use good quality products like OPI and Essie. Complimentary wine during the pedicure is a plus!

Professional, elegant, what else could you want in a nail salon?! The prices are to match but they are worth it.

They did terrible with my pedicure, they barely scrubbed the callus on my heels and it was noticeable a week after a pedicure, it usually lasts for a month any other place i go to, wont be coming back
