The staff I spoke to throughout my experience were all very friendly. However, after stating I was approved over the phone, they took over 2 weeks to get back to me to then say I was not after looking at my application more closely (1 week before my move-in date). It would have been fine to be denied from the start, rather than having me wait for period of time I could have used to look at other apartments, especially after following up with them during that 2 weeks time. My credit was also run 2 times after I applied which they denied doing.
Absolutely terrible! I was there for 2 years and just moved on to a better community, but the experience was horrid to say the least. Staff was great up until a change over the past 6 months. They don’t communicate with tenants, they disregard requests, hang up on residents during inquiries, are disrespectful and rude! Extremely unprofessional. The trash is consistently all over the parking lot, the plumbing is terrible, and there are more problems with the property in general than I can even name. Borderline SLUM. This is not an exaggeration.
We have lived here for a year and it has been one of the best rental experiences we’ve ever had. The staff is so nice and very responsive to emails and calls. They have gone above and beyond for fixing old issues with the apartments and are truly trying to make them better. Super pet friendly and it’s close to everything you need in Seattle
Im moving out in a couple of weeks, but I wanted to leave a review because I dont think a 2/3 star rating is very reflective of the current state of affairs. I have lived in the Galleria for about 2 years and management has changed 3 times during my stay, but the current management we are leaving are some solid folks. The property itself has a gorgeous courtyard, the surrounding neighborhood is quiet and feels safe, and overall I enjoyed my time here. The Galleria has annoying quirks like needing to walk a good distance to dispose of trash, but the management seems to be doing their genuine best to make this a great community to live in. I think you get a lot of bang for your buck here, I was happy with the amenities available and the space I had.
By far, the WORST place I have ever lived in seattle. The management tried to scam money out of me by adding bogus late fees to my rent (even when rent was paid EARLY).Do not EVER trust these people.I have never gotten into a screaming match with anybody in my entire life until I had to deal with the management here.Good thing their incompetence cost them in the end.NEVER LIVE HERE!!!!!
Do not live here!!! Worst experience living here during covid, billing department is a nightmare. No fridge for a month, had to move in a week later while notifying us the day of the original move in date and constant trash all over the apartment. Sure like to take our money but ignoring their responsibility of the lease.
We have been without electricity for 2 months in our bedrooms and bathrooms. We have to use our phone flashlights everytime we want to use that half of the apartment. My husband works from home and has had his computer crash numerous times from the electricity cutting out. This has caused us great harm to our financial ability to pay bills without the ability to work from home during these trying times. We have made a number of calls to the office on when this problem would be fixed with no help what so ever and no end date in sight. They have also made my attempt at making this situation right, via a discount, a change of apartment that actually had electricity or to release us of out current lease. We deeply regret moving here.
They were great with my move out and have done their jobs very well.
Not a review of the actual apartment, but I just wanted to give a really positive shout out to Brook who is the assistant manager of the property. Shes really great to work with if youre having issues with your apartment or anything else and definitely someone you should make friends with if youre planning on or have recently moved here. If you make her life easy then shell go out of her way to make yours easy too :)Definitely one of the highlights of the apartment complex and I highly recommend getting to know her!
Very bad service rent goes up month after month security in parking lots does not exist public services are very expensive month after month I recommend a better place than this
The apartment hadn’t been cleaned or renovated by or after our move in date, delaying our move in day a week late- with still nothing done except a couple walls painted over the dirt and grime. We had to deep clean the apartment from the previous tenants, told we had to put in maintenance requests for everything that had broken from the previous tenants, and still they ignored and never showed up at the appointments. There is trash scattering the hallways. Our assigned parking had been double booked by other residents and had to be reassigned after we found out from the other residents. There was drug paraphernalia at our apartment from the previous tenants as well. The garbage disposal, toilet, and electrical outlets don’t work. As well as a plumbing leak, a hole in the ceiling surrounded by mold/mildew, above our shower. There is multiple things in the apartment that are dirty, damaged, and just unusable.Overall, false advertising about the apartment we were renting and felt like a bait and switch situation. Extremely dissatisfying experience. Wish we never moved in.
We were delayed several times for moving in, and we also have not had a walkthrough with maintenance after almost two weeks of living in the unit, nor did maintenance even know what kind of doors were in our apartment, leading to a hefty locksmith fee to get through a bedroom door that apparently was never supposed to lock in the first place. I was told on the day of our move in that there was going to be some kind of compensation for the immense hassle of being delayed so many times, but have heard nothing back from anyone whatsoever. That being said, the unit is very spacious, the view is nice, and my dog loves the courtyard.
**Many of these reviews are old and from previous management. I believe a lot has changed for the better since they were written.***Feb 2019 - I’ve lived here for about 8 months and I’ve seen a LOT of improvements. The management recently changed and the new manager has really impressed me with the amount of effort he puts in. Some of the reviews on here seem a bit down, and a few months ago I would agree with a number of the points, but a lot is changing for the better around here. The pool area is a ton of fun in the summer months and the gym is seeing some upgrades soon. Our 2 bedroom apartment is well sized and the walls keep out a lot of sound. We never hear our neighbors or get complained about :PI don’t like how there aren’t very many guest parking spots and the hallways are a bit ugly and confusing for guest. After talking with the new manager, the ugly hallway and guest parking are soon to be addressed. I’m really glad to live somewhere that’s committed to improvement. Here are couple of the problems Galleria recently fixed:-garbage area being sketch (installed cameras and a fence)-deliveries getting locked in the office (installed a locker that is accessible any time)Pros:-staff is very responsive and understanding of its tenets.-apartments are well sized, brightly lit, and have great sound insulation from neighbors.-new manager is committed to this location’s improvement.-many problems have been heard, and are getting worked on.-rent is affordable for what you get.Cons:-Hallways smell funny.-the complex is complex and could be confusing for guests.-the guest parking is limitedCon 1 and 3 are being addressed, so there’s really not much to complain about. I’m happy to be heard :)All in all, a good place to be with a very active and thorough management team that listens to its tenets and is committed to improving our home. 9/10 (rounded up to 5 stars)
A premium price for a slum experience. The carpets are stained and smell terrible, the manager seemed clueless as to what a carpet cleaning machine was, the breakers are known fire hazards, they seem to think putting a lock on the trash area will magically create extra trash space...Of which there is ONE compactor, usually overflowing, and ONE recycle/compost area, also usually overflowing. The interior carpet appears to either be recently remodeled by the lowest bidder or it came from the 80s!The fixtures are low use residential, the lighting is antiquated CFL when its wired in at all, the dining room nook has a serious UFO headbanger, the cabinets are profoundly insufficient, the hood vent likely has never had the vent to the roof cleaned, the electrical system, in addition to being on a known fire hazard breaker is of dubious quality and wireing, the gfci breaker in the bathroom being on the same circuit as a bedroom being one example. The tub had the seal to the surround disintigrate, after 4 requests for a fix, I had to silicone it myself. Multiple months after it first broke. All the appliances are also lowest cost units, with a poor quality new oven which leaks heat when in use, which replaced one which behaved erratically with a faulty thermostat. The counters are disintegrating particle board under laminate. The hot water tap produces half pressure at best. Most of the kitchen drawers are falling apart.Fridge was replaced with a large unit which no longer fits into the original spot, which was sized for a unit too small for this apartment, so is sitting in a odd location. The management company seems to be changed on a semi regular basis with minimal turnover procedure. One of the past maintenance contractor companies was clueless as to the replacement of the wax seal under a toilet, which was leaking semi raw sewage onto the bathroom floor for several months before it was fixed. The bedrooms of the two bedroom unit are awkwardly shaped and have doors which make the closet nooks half unusable at all times. Likewise with the hallway long closets in the non renovated style unit. The washer rooms are ignored often, it took 6 months to fix the nearest one to my unit, and it remains currently half non functional, they all seem to lack a basic wash tub, and the vending service seems to almost never service any of the units, leading to more than half being out of service, dysfunctional, or causing flooding at random.parking enforcement is overly aggressive and seems to have no clue who goes in what stall at times.security is by key to the building entrances, which usually works, and fob, which is becoming faulty on several doors. Neither of which actually provides much in the way of real security and both of which will result in random lockouts by residents taking their dogs out to the dog park or having food delivered.Package and mail is terrible, with many packages being dropped off at the mailboxes rather than the checkout system at the front of the building.Apartment doors are quikset smartkey which also provides minimal security.Elevators have failed inspection yet remain in service.I had a resident complain about a sewage geyser erupting from their kitchen sink as well. Many sewer cleanouts and various other object protrude into the hallways. Most hallways smell very bad, or very strongly of air freshener and bad smell under it. The lighting is questionable and at times halls wind up half lit.I would not rate this structure as particularly well kept, or particularly handicap friendly or accessible.Management seems to be taking an adversarial stance towards residents, rather than a helpful one currently (june 2020)Overall quality of experience, would demand a price no more than $600 a month for this two bedroom, yet they seem to be wanting up to 2,000 for it.Again, premium price, slum experience.Would give negative review if possible.relative quantities of money in cars: Demanded price of 2 new cars a year, for a semiauthentic slum experience.
The management is friendly, efficient, and care about their residents. The building is older, but many units remodeled--ours had some cool built-in book shelves in the hall--and there are two swimming pools!Only drawback for me is the amount of kids that live here. Summertime can get a little loud outside during the day, but thankfully most residents are respectful of noise during the hours of 10pm-8am like they should be.If you do end up having a maintenance issue, they are the fastest repair folks Ive ever had for an apartment Im renting. Same day fixes, receipt of services on your door, and an on-site 24/7 emergency guy just in case something crazy happens. You can have pets, you can have a parking space, theres package holding service in the office, and they even set up a little table during the holidays with assorted wrapping papers/materials for anyone to use if they needed it. I thought it was so thoughtful to do that for folks. The best is really the management though. Malli is on top of it, and shes very easy and pleasant to talk to.Were not going anywhere. 😀
This was the first apartment I lived in in Seattle after relocating from Colorado. Although one of the best years of my life, this apartment was...okay. It was very basic and halfway through the year, management switched without any notice to the residents. The building needed some serious updating - i.e. the hallway doors, the chipping paint, the exit signs that hung down because they had fallen out of the ceiling. Multiple times in year of residing here, there was emergency water shut offs because of leaking pipes, and maintenance even had to cut a whole through my roommates wall because of leaking - which to mention, took them forever to repair. My roommate slept with a hole in her bedroom wall into the kitchen for multiple weeks. The apartment got extremely warm - we were on the third floor - but we couldnt leave windows open because the tenants that lived downstairs would party and smoke cigarettes all night long. The guy that lived below us was in a domestically violent relationship and we could hear them constantly screaming at each other through the floor. All in all, this apartment got us through and had nice storage and served its purpose. However, the grounds and other residents made it sometimes sketchy which I didnt like. As far as management, Brook, the assistant manager there, was always prompt and responsive! The actual PM is pretty unprofessional and acts like he doesnt care about anything.
Just renewed my lease for a second year. I love this place! One of the quietest places Ive lived in Seattle, and Ive lived in Kent, West Seattle, First Hill and Burien. Ive interacted with both James(manager) and Brooke(assistant) almost on a weekly basis, just to say hello or to discuss other matters. They are always approachable, friendly and attentive. Theyve been nothing but professional and courteous every time. As far as safety goes, Im pretty baffled by some of the other reviews from other folks. Ive never felt unsafe, and Im up walking my dog at 4:30am every morning. Ive never seen anything suspicious. They are making great strides in improving the property; most recently an update to our fitness center and soon a BBQ area near the pool. There is a great mix of people here-young, old, couples, black, Hispanic, and gay folks. All the folks Ive met are decent and nice. The price is great for the location. Yes its an older building, but its not falling apart and they work hard to maintain it.My only frustration is the laundry machines. Many of them dont fill with hot water(if you select that option), and several of them dont drain between wash/rinse. But its no big deal for me to head to the laundromat! Im glad to be starting my second year!!
After living here for over 1 year now, I am ready to stay longer. This is one of the better places that you can get for the price. If you commute downtown, but dont want to pay the price of downtown, then this is the perfect place for you. Simple hop skip and a bus and you can get to downtown via the bus in 30 minutes. As some of the other reviews have stated, the lobby is definitely the nicest part of the building, but that doesnt necessarily mean that the rest of the building is bad by any means. Sure yes, there are things about it I dont like, but overall, I have had a great experience living here and would recommend it. The pool is an excellent way to refresh in the summer as it is kept up, and it is a great way to meet the neighbors as generally people are very friendly. The rooms are very large with nice big windows (2 bedroom layout) and I manage to have about 15 people over every week in my living room for a group gathering and we fit comfortably (probably not any more than that in the living room though). I love that there is a clear space for a dining room table and the living room, and the balcony doors are wonderful as well. There is SO much storage space throughout the entire apartment, which I never thought I would actually manage to fill. Also, I was very surprised that the noise from other apartments (and even from my living room to the rooms) was very silenced. The floor is laid out so that living rooms of adjacent apartments share a wall so you can be normal volume at night and not worry about the person sleeping right on the other side of the wall (at least mine is like that). The only time I heard anything was when the kid below my apartment was screaming for like 4 hours during a pout fest, which I could only hear in my living room. Finally, it is very pet friendly which is a blast to not only have my kitty, but be able to pet all the neighbors dogs. The grassy area in the center of the complex is an excellent place for your dog.Even though we do have complaints about some of the things in the apartment complex, the management responds very well especially when you are willing to work with them and are not rude. There was an issue with packages always being trapped in the office, so they got a package locker so we can get packages any time. The gym equipment was starting to get outdated, so we got some new equipment. The dumpster was starting to look extra dumpy, so a nice fenced area was built around it to help organize the dumpsters. I was able to talk to the office about the plans that they have for the place this year and I am excited to see these things happening. Now for some of the things that brought me down to 4 stars instead of 5. It really is a combination of a lot of little things, such as the washer and dryers not always working so well (in the plan to upgrade them soon), often cut corners on repair jobs so you might as well do it yourself (though they do respond VERY quickly to any maintenance issues that you submit, but you might have to do a little touchup to their repairs), and the neighborhood has moments of scariness (it is about a 10 minute walk from Aurora Ave... a blessing and a curse).Overall, this is one of the best bang for buck places that I could find and would recommend. Just keep in mind that you are not going to have concierge service and everything in absolute perfection and this is a wonderful place
I’m a reentry life coach trying to move a client in the unit she’s been had the unit since September 29th and Section 8 inspection didn’t pass at all . The apartments lied and said the inspection passed and we was told otherwise and had my inspector come out 5 different times and they still didn’t work on clients unit . My client has a 4 month old baby and. 5 year old child that’ll currently be homeless if they don’t fix the outlets and the paint on the wall. This is very unprofessional and I think maintenance and the owner should get a entire new staff that’s passionate about families because this is ridiculous !!!!! I have been document everything down and the apartment ma never answer the phone to respond to these customers false advertisement at its high !!!!
Horribly mismanaged. Management seems great in person, but let me warn you...any time they say that they will take care of something, they likely wont. A while back, there was a plumbing truck parked in my reserved spot that I pay $45/month for. I went to mamagement and they told me to park in the future resident parking and that they will contact the parking company and notify them so that I dont get a ticket. Well, they didnt and I got a ticket. So I emailed them a picture of the ticket and they said they would take care of it and not to worry. Well, they didnt and I got mail from a debt collector as a result. This is unacceptable. Also, the model apartment that they show you during your tour is SO much nicer than the actual apartments.Maintenance people routinely replace damaged parts with other damaged parts.Dont move here.
The apartment itself is okay, but the management that took over in January is horrible and warrants a bad review. We’ve had issues with maintenance requests follow-through, the garbage/recycle areas are a complete mess AND the pool has been “closed” for maintenance. We’ve been waiting for the pool to open because of the hot weather and have sent multiple emails to no avail. Happy to say our lease ends in a few weeks and we won’t have to deal with this anymore.
Ever since I moved here, the management has been nothing but nice and helpful. They are quick when emailed, and will call if they have any questions that need an quick response. The apartment itself is beautiful. The layouts are nice and cozy, and the rent itself is not too bad considering how close it is to Seattle. I honestly thought it would be a lot more expensive. As for the location, it is so close to Northgate mall, as well as many different types of restaurants and businesses. I will be renewing my lease here for a second year, and maybe a third year when that time comes because I love living here so much.
It has been a terrible move in, which still isnt complete. Impossibly slow communication with the staff is inexcusable. The apartment readiness was the worst Ive ever had. Ample time and options for fixing my experience was given and has failed at every turn. Galleria is so far 12 days of displeasure.
I put a request to fix the thermostat in my bedroom on November 2nd. Maintenance guy came over that day shut of electric line feeding the heater in the bedroom from the fuse box and promise that he will order a new thermostat and replace the broken one by coming Wednesday (November 6th). I have not seen him since that day. My thermostat never been fixed and it is November 21st.Horrible and careless service I have ever had.
The apartment complex is nice along all the amenities. The management here used to be great, they took care all of requests seriously and on time but now there’s is a new lady working there that responds to any of question with sarcasm and doesn’t get anything done. She states that she has a lot of work going on so she could brush you off. The dumpster Has been for full days and now there’s garbage scattered around the dumpster. I’ve been calling her to get my shower drain unclogged and it’s been 5 days now, can’t shower. Summer is here and the pool is still under maintenance. This lady doesn’t have the proper skills to run and maintain an apartment complex running. At this rate the pool will be open by December.
You can find allot of truth in the reviews. Unfortunately I had so many bad experiences at the Galleria. Although it was hard to deal with unresponsive rude management my breaking point was my fear of my safety. It is common that the homeless people by the freeway and drug addicts hang out in and around the complex. I have found multiple needles in hallway and around complex building. It is a sad I cant feel safe in my apartment. I also dealt with people breaking into and tampering with my car. This is unacceptable and i dont recommend moving into this apartment.
Do not live here since they changed the manager. The new one doesnt care anything, just say some useless words to u. Noise? Not my business. Party till 3 or 4am? Yeah holiday, I dont need to sleep. Baby crying in the hallway, in front of my door? Yeah u know its a baby, we cant control. A crazy woman laughing at night? Yeah we will inform them. But this is my 4th time ask for help.Anyway cool apt.
Chris was really helpful, and we appreciated his help with our maintenance issue.
It was great we are very satisfied and cant wait to make it our home.
It located in very good place where near I-5, North Seattle college, Northgate mall and bus stations. Also, the employees are very nice. They respond fast when I want something. Moreover, the price is good so far. However, the most problem was the elevator in building E, where I was living, was so slowly and was out of order for many days.
This is the worst complex in northgate. Management doesnt address repair issues. Instead they ignore it or put duct tape on it. Management just wants your money but they wont fix the damages in or around apartment unless it is the office. James is worst manager.... He is Petty and will threatens takes your money for repairs that are not needed when tenants voice their opinion about things that need to be fixed does not follow protocol of a manager and the company has no tenant manager relationship... They think that they are better than colored and I have a lot of tenants that agree.. We paid our rent on time and even have an advance on our rent they still will not issue a lease renewal nor return our credited rent payment ... They are controlling and if they cannot control you they will you from the premises in great disregard for you or your children... Nothing works.. Lights flicker in every room as soon as we got into the apartment as well as the sink just spinning and doesnt turn off there is usually dog urine and feces on the ground on different floor
Edit: sadly I have to downgrade my review of this complex. The last 2 months they gave away our parking spot ($60/month and they double rented it) I understand mistakes happen, but it took 4 days of back and forth to get the office to take care of it. And now a random $18 parking charge showed up on our rent portal, immediately reached out via phone and email to find out why and paid the rest of rent anyway so not to be late. Instead of returning my voicemails or emails (over 20 in 9 days) they put a pay or vacate order on my door for $18!!! And no return call, knock, or email... Sending my husband and lawyer on speaker phone down to office on the off chance they might actually be in today... (Track record says not)Finally they answered and told us to disregard the notice. We will be receiving a signed letter to that effect because we insisted on it.Pool didnt open until a week ago, poor TJ has to clean up the dumpsters that are over flowing EVERYDAY made us get our own Kills for the mold on the patio, trash left by the entrances for days and is rotting. And the office wont return your call to save your life. As soon as we can we will move.Have lived here about 2 and a half months. Its what you would expect of a city limits apartment. What we needed where we needed it at the price we needed. Security is good with a gated courtyard and many buildings have security walking around so being a female with kids I am not nervous home alone. Not the newest or most updated but definitely home!
Chris was very helpful and responded to our request very quickly.
Definitely come TOUR. Management is new and pretty quick to respond to issues. The grounds are well taken care of.
Ghetto (a part of a city, especially a slum area, occupied by a minority group or groups in this case, drug dealers and criminals)The worst living experience you will find in Seattle, drug deals on a daily basis, cars getting broken into, management does not take responsibility for how poorly maintained the property is. They move just about anyone who has a dollar to move in. The smell of dog and human feces are a constant, noisy and dirty. Do not drink the cool aid the management company is trying to put out there. Very disappointing places like this still run and are allowed to do so. This review is not outdated, we just moved out and they are charging us to clean an old carpet that should have been replaced when we moved in. Ghetto living experience.
It has been 2-3 months..still my sliding door is not fixed.. didnt get any positive response for carpet cleaning..and since 5 days Im out of cold water in kitchen but no one cares..Worst service..
Lived here for almost 2 years now and havent had any issues, price is good and reasonable, located very close to a main street and also bus routes.
Read past reviews they are accurate.
Brooke Burlando and James Orcutt should be fired. They are extremely rude, disrespectful, and unmotivated. Brooke Burlando is known to put off work because she doesnt want to make her Friday busy. James Orcutt will make sure to call and yell at you about making mantaince request. According to James peeling paint is not toxic to babies. He said its only toxic if they eat it. I dont think James has ever been around kids if he didnt know that babies like to put stuff in their mouth.
To the review about Brook..... dont look to hard for her ...shes been fired..... along withe all of the maintenace staff. Thats whyI sitting here ( for the 2 nd day) trying to get an emergency repair done. It looks like I will have to do it myself.......just like the last few repairs.
A lot of the reviews here are outdated. The management and maintenance teams have been nothing but stellar weve moved here. Malli, the community manager, is so friendly and helpful. Other pros: tons of storage space, cheap parking, and renovated units. Only con I can think of is you have to go all the way to the back of the building to throw away garbage/recycle. Also, utility bills are higher than expected.EDIT 01/04/2017: Lowered the rating because management has increased my rent by over ten percent. Im leaving because its simply not worth it. I would not recommend this place anymore.
Seems like a place is make a good effort to improve the facilities
Great at first, but problems came up and were persistent. And thats being nice about it. Long story short, my family did not feel safe living at the Galleria due to broken fire safety equipment so we moved on.
I live in this complex. Im so glad that Im moving out soon. The property management is the most worst here. Here is one fat female rude property manager mostly will be sarcastic to your question, its a waste of time to talk with her.
Bad experience, eight months ago, the deposit has not been returned yet! Although there was no damage, they took $ 1,000 from the deposit to change the carpet
Worst apartment ever goes to the Galleria apartment. Worst manger goes to James at the Galleria.
Wouldnt live here if it was free. Management is the worst. Stay away from the Galleria apartment. Very unsafe if you have a family.
$ good, big dogs welcome, chill staff.
Not as nice to look at once in the courtyard. Makeup on a pig.
James the manager at the Galleria is very rude and unprofessional.
No handicap parking?????
Better to stay away
Avoid this apartment complex.
The light is so bad ? All studios are very hot because there is no big window for air ?I think they need to change the lighting its so dark inside all studios ?And the window has to be bigger than now !
Poor Management
Formerly villa d italia
Management.
Its location is excellent for Lee Hudders in North Seattle College, but a bit dreary, and after him services
Frankly the apartment is very excellent
