I went from having the ugliest house in the neighborhood to now having one of the most beautiful homes ever and people actually stop and tell us how gorgeous our house looks with the new siding and windows. We couldnβt be happier!! Thank you American Exteriors and all of their awesome contractors in the Omaha area!! ππππ
This is our second purchase from American Exteriors. We purchased our first window 3 years ago. And knew we only needed to call them for this second pair. We are fully pleased with the product. Love the warranty! The installers are kind, even with all my kids running around. This second time sales was fantastic, she came in, figured out what we needed and didnt push us at all to go ahead and do more yet. They know well be back!
I had them put in Windows several years ago. They are junk. Do not waste ur money on them. The dont close right, and the plastic that they are made of breaks, and their customer service is absolutely atrocious. I had to have them come back out a year after they were installed because they didnt even insulate around them, we found it when we were remodeling from the inside. Terrible company all around.
Our house was built in 1975. The windows are original and manufactured withas a single pane. We had talked about needing to replace our windows toimprove our energy costs, but more importantly to increase our comfort inthe house. American Exteriors knocked on our door, and we decided tolisten to what they had to offer. We agreed to replace the bedroomwindows. We chose to go with a double pane, double slider window for each. What a difference it has made in the bedrooms and that side of the house. Our girls were moved out of their room because the room was always so muchcolder then the rest of the house. We decided to put the windows to thetest. We shut the door of the room over night (as if they were sleeping inthere) and put a thermometer in there. The room was around 55 degrees inthe morning (We keep our house at 68). This temperature was consistent overa period of days. Once the window was put in we performed the same test. Our blinds were no longer on the window, and the next morning thetemperature was 60 degrees. This impressed us. We also noticed the heatturned on less and the house was warmer on that side with the three newwindows. The crew was very professional, courteous, and respectful of our home. They worked hard and efficiently. The windows were not out for very longbefore the new ones were put in. The sale individual did not sell withpressure, but respect. He gave us our space and was quick with answers toour questions. We were attracted to this company because of their rating from the BBB,warranty they provide, and the quality of their windows. Over the nextcouple years, we will continue to work with American Exteriors for ourwindow (and possibly siding) needs.
Overall satisfied with the experience. The salesman seemed very knowledgeable about their product and helpful to answer the questions we had. After deciding to go with them, they were fast to order and get us scheduled. I was a little skeptical when a subcontracted install crew showed up, as we paid an arm and a leg for this and they dont have their own install services. The install crew was very good and made sure everything was correctly sealed and worked properly before they were done. I did have one window that was the wrong size ordered so waiting on the right one to come in to have the job completed. Overall I think it was a good decision for a home investment, and seem to be very good quality windows. I would still recommend them to anyone looking to improve their home.
They installed windows at my place a while ago. We ended up having issues and I contacted them. They responded right away. Rick the service guy I spoke with came out to inspect the issue within a day or two of my contacting them. Then he got an installer (Gary) to come out and fix the issue. It endend up being a 2 day project, but now my windows look great again and we have already noticed a big difference in the house. The draft is gone. Gary was super nice and professional as well as Rick, they didnβt try to push new services or anything. They just took care of what I needed. Thanks again!
This is in reference to their solicitation and phone calls. I will never speak to a solicitor at the door again. I was interested in the information and gave my phone number. I began getting upwards of 6 calls per day from extremely rude sales representatives. When I said I needed to call back I got hung up on. When I said I wasnt interested I even had one tell me its not smart to pass on this offer. When asked to talk to a supervisor I was told I was laughed at and the person was extremely pushy. After that I asked to have my number removed. I didnt trust that so I blocked the number however; my phone still tells me when the blocked number calls. It was sporadic until today when I received 8 calls. I called the number back and when they asked if I was calling because I had a missed call I told them yes 8 calls and I want it to stop. I explained I had the number blocked and this is not how to do business. Do not give this company your phone number.
I cant even give them one single star!!!! We have been going rounds with them to come out and fix the original ledge that they foamed over and then removed after we told the roofer said the wood was no good. So, now we have a gap from where the roofer stopped the shingles and where they tore out the ledge and re-wrapped straight down. The remodeling of my house has come to a complete stand still because we cannot get someone to come and fix this stupid window!!! I regret without doubt ever even allowing my windows to be replaced. I was better off with the original wood-framed windows - draft and all!!!
Another renovation co. Owner had arranged with them to do estimate and get permit for work on my house. After several attemps from him to get them to follow through, I called American Exteriors myself...No answer. Not a surprise to find it only has 2.2 stars.. I am now working with a different comp.
Great people and crew. Were professional and very informative. Very accommodating.
A wonderful product! Service is a bit lacking but if you can look past that you will love their windows and patio doors!
My experience was great they came in told me what they were going to do how long it would take how much it would cost less than a month later the job was done . Thank you American Exteriors
Met them at a trade show and asked them to look at my gutter. When they called they wanted to quote siding, then gutter replacement. Obviously they didnt even look at the notes from the trade show. Scheduled an appointment for the next evening. They Came to look at my gutter. Gave me a verbal estimate. I asked for the bid in writing and was told it was company policy to not give bids in writing. The sales person said he could email it to me but not on company letterhead. I do not do business with companies that dont stand by their bids or are afraid to put them in writing. I never heard from the sales person again.
This company is an absolute joke. I had 11 windows and one patio door installed by them. The people that they sent out didnt even measure all the windows in my house. They had to put 1.5 inches of quarter round on nearly every window to fill the gap between the frame and the window because they ordered the wrong size. These are supposed to be custom windows, but what I got was close enough windows. The patio door they installed sits 3/4 of an inch higher on one side as well.I had to have the installers come out several times to fix the things they didnt do right the first time. Even the manager that was sent out, Ryan S., thought the job was done right. If I can grab the side of the window, even though they put wood trim to hide their mistake, they didnt do it right. I was charged over $1000 per hole and it looks like a blind man with one hand put them in.I complained about how poorly my windows were installed and I didnt get anywhere. I even talked to Ms. Jameka Spencer (Director of Install Service) several times and explained how the services I got was not on par with the price I was being charged. Needless to say she took the side of her poor staff.Even more. My house was built in 1966, back when lead paint was still used. The paint on some of the original windows was lead based. They said they tested for lead but they must have just tested the siding. Ya know because thats what a normal person would do. Not test to turquoise paint on the windows that looks like it belongs in the 60s. The only reason I know it was lead based is because I tested the several paint chips that littered my yard and house. They sent out some third party EPA person to see if there was enough lead paint to be hazardous. He confirmed the presence of lead paint and said just vacuum it up. Youll be fine. They also damaged my vehicle when they removed one of my old windows. They denied it of course. Even damaged my fire pit in my back yard. Also denied at first, then they finally admitted to it. I was told I would be compensated for the damaged fire pit. We even agreed on a price. I never received any sort of check for it.What else? Besides the nails, broken glass, coke cans, and other garbage left everywhere plus my open doors when they left? I think the best part of the whole experience is the wonderful interest rate I got. It is over 20%. They set it up as a credit card and dont tell you about it. So if you dont mind paying $50 in principle and $100 in interest every month for 10 years, youll be okay.To sum it up, they didnt do their due diligence when it came to measuring the windows or checking for lead paint. The people that they send out are very disrespectful. The management would back their employees even if they know the job is garbage. This was the worse experience I have ever had with any company ever! I would not recommend this company for windows, siding, mowing my lawn, picking up dog poo, or even flipping burgers. This place sucks, the staff sucks, the product sucks.Oh, and the icing on the cake is the sales people that come through my neighborhood every couple months. I just love letting them know what I think. They even offer to relay my dissatisfaction to their management, but no one there knows how to fix a problem. They only know how to cover their own a**
Windows installed without insulation or lacking insulation so they leak. Cant get them to come back and fix it. Would not recommend at this time.
This is a review of their solicitation practices. AE will ring your doorbell even if you have a no soliciting sign. They then pressure you for some info. They use this info to call you every couple of days to pressure you into setting up a consult. After telling them you are not interested they ask you how can you say you arent interested? You havent heard what we have to offer. Besides that their target area discount is garbage. Just a ploy. I will go out of my way to avoid these people.
A door to door salesman came to our door and said all the same stuff they tell everyone apparently. My home is in a target area and they wanted to break into this market area. Thought Id hear what they had to say, so I scheduled a quote. The guy that came out to quote was very friendly, until I told him that he was asking for too much and I wouldnt be buying any that day because my family was tight on funds then. After that, he was super rude and got an attitude with me. When I asked him for a card in case I wanted to call them back when I had the funds, he threw one on my table and walked out.The next week I received a call from Lance in the Grimes, Iowa office. He asked why I didnt buy the siding then and there and told me he would give me 50% off labor and installation. He tried pushing me into another sit down over five times until I told him what I told his quoter. My family was tight on money and would be for awhile so I cant be buying siding right now. After that I got a huffy whatever, have a nice day and he hung up.Terrible service. They dont seem to understand that people tell other people when a company behaves poorly to customers. Would never buy from them or recommend them to anyone.
Amazing product and the installation was perfectly done and fast. I couldnt be any happier with the out come...
Door to door salesman was very rude when I stated I was not interested. The guy smirked and waved me off and said I dont want to deal with you anywaysIf their salesmen are this bad I cant imagine doing business with them at all. And based upon reviews I cant see why anyone would want to. The next time he comes around I will make sure my sprinklers are on. I hope they go out of business.
Overall we have had a good experience with American Exteriors. So far we are satisfied with the product and installation experience. We had a few minor miscommunications with the sales guy and install manager. The first was about who was installing our windows. We were told by our sales guy there were no sub-contractors, which was incorrect. However, the subcontractor that was provided by the install manager was very experienced and did a great job. Second, the install manager was not great in terms of communicating needs/concerns of ours to the contractor etc.. There was some re-framing on one window that had to be done due to the size of a window that needed to meet code. We were clear in communicating with the install manager we needed the dry walling completed by them as well and he did not communicate that clearly to his subcontractor, so they showed up unprepared to drywall anything. He was also very difficult to get a hold of and his voicemail was always full.Despite these things, we are satisfied with our experience thus far and would recommend American Exteriors to a friend.
It is not an easy or good company to work with at all, I definitely do not recommand it to any people.
We had three windows installed April 2014. By May 2014, one of the windows started leaking. By July 2014 all of the windows we had replaced were leaking. I would not recommend this company.
When first approached by Chuck from American Exteriors my husband wasnt home so I set up an appointment with them at a later date so we could both be present for the presentation. In the next few days we did receive multiple calls, emails, and texts confirming the appointment time which we thought was a bit excessive. When our appointment time came, Chuck was very nice and explained his product and American Exteriors background and window products. He provided a demonstration and then measured our windows and doors and gave us a price. Given this was a major purchase, I asked to sleep on it. Chuck then told us that if we didnt accept the offer tonight it would go up by 2 grand because he was only offering the special on the patio door that night. This struck me as a high pressure sales approach and I was slightly turned off by this. In the end we decided to go ahead and finance the windows. Our interest rate was a special rate of 6.9% (wowza). Chuck left and I instantly became uneasy about the purchase.A few days later, a nice gentleman came and measured our windows. He was kind and professional and arrived on time. He told us it would be about two weeks and we would have our new windows and door installed. As time went on I still didnt feel right about the purchase. I decided to Google them and must to my dismay I found that Google and Yelp have them as a 1.5 stars. I chalked it up to a rushed decision and hoped for the best. The day came that the windows were installed. They arrived on time and were all very polite. They accommodated my requests to have the bedroom done first to allow for my dogs to stay in the room as they finished the house. They were done in about 8 hours. They left my house and yard as clean as when they arrived. The main builder even stayed behind 15 minutes to do a walk through with my husband and I. He showed us how to operate the new windows and patio door. Its been a couple of weeks since our install and we are loving our new windows. They function perfectly, are easy to clean, and look so much nicer then our old windows. I am most impressed with our sliding patio door. I can open it with my pinkie finger! The ball bearings ride so smoothly. At first I was skeptical of this company and giving them my business, but now we dont regret it at all. Im writing this review to hopefully ease others minds about their decision to buy windows from American Exteriors. I would highly recommend them to others.4 stars given only for the excessive contact and high pressure sales approach given.
What a nightmare! I was harassed and sworn at by a salesperson. I called the owner and was told he would handle it. The salesperson denied the event and the owner sided with him. Calling the police. Salesperson told us he would be back and we couldnt stop him
Worst company in the history of this earth ! Please do not do business with these people they have no souls and do not stand behind there product nor install it correctly its been a 3 year battle and still having to deal with this joke of a company ! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!! horrible horrible company !!!
These people wont stop coming to my house! I have told them Im not interested at least 10 times and they will not leave us alone! I even have a no soliciting sign!!!
After repeatedly requesting to not be contacted, they continue to harass me by phone.
Rude solicitation at the door, declared hed be back in an hour despite me saying the homeowner would not be home nor interested and he stormed off with a smartass attitude. Feel sorry he has to work for such a worthless company.
Terrible company. Horrible installation. Fought with them forever, even though they ruined my wall, to get them to fix it. Sales people were pushy, and the people on the phone were no help.
I had multiple windows installed. the crew that installed them were not very professional. I overlooked the fact that they were smoking in my yard or that they were an hour late. I do have a problem with the fact that one of my windows leaks and the wrap was installed incorrectly. I have a lifetime warranty on the windows, but now they want to charge me $89.00 for someone to come look at the wrap job they did. the wraps are peeling the paint off and they look terrible. Do I pay the $89 for them to come fix this to potentially have to pay for this again?! what a joke.
Company was calling over two years after we received a siding estimate from them. We did not decide to go with their company. We had to block their phone number because they kept calling up to three times per day without leaving a message.
They have called me two times a day for the last week. I have not answered a single call until today (when they changed the number changed.) Will not stop calling. If I ever need windows or siding, I will NOT be using them.
Keep asking them to take me off their list and they wont stop calling me!
These people are rude and insensitive jerks. They keep ringing my doorbell, which is right under a NO SOLICITING sign. They always insist that they are not soliciting. Idiots!
Door to door sales people ringing my doorbell at 8pm!! Unacceptable! I would never do business with you just for that. I have children in bed!
