I took my old 2013 MacBook Air in because it shuts down when its not plugged in. This has been happening for the past year and the Mac store wouldnt consider fixing anything unless I bought a new motherboard because this one has damage from a coffee spill that, luckily, hasnt gotten in the way. Petr returned my call right away, scheduled me to come out that afternoon and then opened it up and fixed it in front of me. The mac store had disconnected the battery because of the water damage. He kindly wouldnt take any payment because he was able to figure it out and fix it almost immediately. Though I never wouldve figured it out without him. Definitely going back for any computer needs!

I had a fairly disastrous data migration from my old MacPro to a new iMac. By disastrous, I mean that nothing came across - files, mail, settings, apps, etc. Of course this happened late at night and I needed to get some work done the next day. I found Petrs website and submitted a request for help via his web form. He answered almost immediately and we set up an appointment for the next morning. By early afternoon, I was up and running. His hourly rate was fair, and lets just say he took half the time to fix the mess I made than I took to create it.

Its a bad feeling when youre traveling and your work computer gives out. I was in Santa Fe from out of state when my MacBook Air battery suddenly gave up the ghost. Petr is brilliant. Brought in an old 2010 MacBook Pro which was misbehaving by randomly shutting down and the finger pad wasnt working properly. Petr fixed the pad and updated the operating system. Now its a new computer. When we saw what a great job he did, we asked if he could get a refurbished computer. A week later, he got us a large MacBook Pro with new operating system for $600. Ive used a few Computer repair companies in Santa Fe and Petr at SF Mac repair is by far the best, easiest to work with and knowledgable of them all.

My experience was dealing with a an old failed Macbook Pro that had power supply problems. Petr very quickly diagnosed the problem and gave me various options. I ended up with a very nice refurbished Air with a very reasonable tradein value on the 6+ year old Macbook Pro. He was honest, straightforward, and very frank during this whole interchange.I recently moved here to Santa Fe and will definitely have him as my first choice for all future Mac related issues.

Petr may be competent in terms of buying you used MAC products but, when it comes to customer service and responding to problems with hardware/software that he recommended in the first place, I would rate him a ZERO. He recommended we buy a Lacie Cloudbox for backing up our files. When the Lacie Cloudbox failed - even though it was relatively new - he said we would have to send it to Lacie for repairs. Just a mere $800 to retrieve our files; said all our data had been lost. Well, we said no and when he reconfigured Lacie (or wiped the data), our files miraculously appeared in a folder called Recovery. That makes sense! How does data just disappear because hardware is not functioning as it should? He could have cost us $800 for nothing! Now, Lacie is not working again (and we bought it on his recommendations) and hes telling me I should buy a new modem and update something or the other. Yeah, its always about spending MORE money and not fixing the real problem. I have NO appreciation for anything he has done other than find us two decent MACs. Sorry but customer service does not mean telling a client to keep buying new stuff.

I was recommended to Petr and thought he had done a fair job. He helped my old mac book pro by adding a gel to the hardware to keep it from warming up too much and also updated my OS. I also got a new power cord all for only $260 - thought that was a fair deal. However, when I started to use Photoshop (my bread and butter as a graphic designer) the fonts are all pixelated. I sent him a couple of images of the pixelation and at first he ignored it saying, theres nothing wrong with the fonts. I had to say, please look closely, the font - which is a common one - is pixelated. He then told me I cannot help you, I dont work with fonts. Hmm, so you do mac repairs but dont deal with fonts? Thats like being a doctor but you dont take a persons pulse because you dont deal with the heart. Finding a new mac person!
