Edit: I would be weary of all the 5 star reviews that were 2-3 months prior to this post, as they had a contest as to which office member would get the most shoutouts and emailed those who didn’t submit a review yet.The office staff is nice. Friends say old management was a lot better, more genuine, and not as corporate-like. The office shows their appreciation for the tenants by having something little monthly, so that is a positive thing. The maintenance crew is usually efficient and respectful of your place, but they have just come in on occasions after knocking once and not waiting for me to even answer the door. The groundskeeper tries to keep the place clean, but unfortunately there are a lot of residents that are disrespectful of the place, especially with their pets. There is a lot of dog poop just left, and all the grass and plants are dead do to the dogs. RM west has poop bags, so there is no excuse to not pick up after your dog. Some people even let their dogs do their business on their porch (both pee and poop—and not pick up either), and RM west didn’t seem to care. It was an issue for the entire year we lived there and nothing was done.There have been multiple car breaks-ins (even in the garage), and people letting people in the homeless people into the building. The office staff didn’t really do anything besides send emails out reporting SOME of the break ins and sending out maybe one email to tell people to stop letting people in.The apartment complex smells like weed A LOT. So if you dont like that, dont live here. Sometimes it was so strong, I could smell it in my own apartment.You have to pay for $25 for trash every month and follow strict rules with pickup. We followed the rules, and we still had our trash just not picked up multiple times.RM west is in river market, which is a great place to live.

This has been my slice of heaven for a few years now. The staff is great. Our building is clean. If you want to live at the rivermarket please come see this place RMwest and RM east. Come find your slice of heaven!

Lived here for over 9 months now. Just all around a great place to live. Well insulated walls so noise is pretty minimal, nice balconies, great amenities (rooftop, gym, coffee, study rooms etc). Parking is decent, some break ins however... Elite management and super nice people.

We love everything about RM West! Great location, fabulous amenities, superbly maintained. All the members of the team are especially friendly and helpful - posting a question on Mobile Doorman gets a very prompt and courteous response from Alexis, Leah, or Diallo. These team members go out of their way to make their residents feel welcome. Johnny does a great job with the grounds and Josh is very helpful and kind. We are so happy we chose to live here!

Diallo has been very helpful and he genuinely cares about the people in our community. He is professional, thorough, honest and communicates adequately when explaining things. As a result of his great work ethic, he has a confidence that makes him both professional and fun simultaneously. He is always positive and a joy to work with! Alexis and Leah always greet me when I see them and help if needed.The service team is also very positive and helpful and they are quick to get things fixed, specifically Josh and Blane. Johnny is always cleaning something around the building so its always nice looking. the tenants are considerate and quiet which adds value to the community and makes a great place to call home. The RM West team is wonderful! From their leasing office to their maintenance staff, they are always quick to respond, helpful, and courteous. I have worked closely with Diallo, in the leasing office, and he has not only answered all of my questions, but done so in a clear and helpful way.I also recently had a maintenance request that was handled so quickly, I was amazed! Blane and Josh were friendly and helpful and not only fixed the issues I had, but also fixed two squeaky doors I had! They were great and their help was very much appreciated!RM West is in a great location, has great units, and an even better group of staff members!

RM West is truly a great place to live. It offers everything that you could possibly need. In the leasing office you can find Diallo and Leah who are so incredibly nice and are always willing to help and do so with genuine joy, which makes the experience so much better. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would!! Also, the location is perfect and gives you access to the KC Streetcar, which is very convenient. RM West is the place to be at.

Ive only been here for a week now, but I can already feel a tremendous difference in my quality of living. Within walking distance there is the City market, as well as a number of stores, restaurants, bars. The riverwalk is close too. The pool has been a lifesaver during these hot quarantine days, and I very much plan on using all the other amenities as well. The apartment itself has a new smell to it, that I keep getting surprised by every time I walk in. I love it!

We have loved living at RM west!! So much so that we moved into another apartment at the complex because we didn’t want to leave! Everyone is always so helpful! Diallo always goes out of his way to make our lives easier and he was so helpful with our move. He is always so kind and happy! He is not just a kind manager but a friendly neighbor!

I have had a very good experience so far at RM West. I came from The Landings at River Market, and the difference is night and day. The maintenance team, specifically Blane, has been extremely helpful and prompt in helping me. He drove in on his off day to help me fix my electrical for the weekend, and I havent had a single issue since. I really appreciate the attention to detail the staff gives here, and would recommend this complex to anyone.

I am nearing my 6 month anniversary living here at RM West, and I cannot stress enough about how excellent my stay has been. Johnny, has done such an amazing job keeping the place clean and in prestige condition, as well as the rest of the maintenance crew keeping this apartment complex in such an excellent condition. The few times I have ever had an issue with my apartment or just simply needed help getting settled in, Johnny and his team have always gone above and beyond to accommodate my schedule and provide assistance. I just want to say thank you to the guys who do all of the work behind the scenes to make sure this place is enjoyable for us residents. RM West is my favorite part about KC! The staff is so nice and helpful and its extremely dog friendly! I wouldnt have been able to adopt my dog if it werent for the amenities and accommodating staff. I recently toured RM West with hopes of making it my future home. My roommate and I were greeted by Diallo Simms who welcomed us with his outgoing but professional demeanor. The tour process was extremely simple and very informative. Diallo did an exceptional job showing us the complex and answering questions as we looked around. I was impressed with the clean amenities and additional features such as the rooftop social lounge, dog washing station, bike room and at home work spaces. The tour went so well that my roommate and I decided to make RM West our next home. Diallo has been there every step of the way making the application process and transition very easy. Johnny is the most efficient groundskeeper Ive seen. Im one of the mail couriers at this property and hes always out making sure the community is clean and tidy. He goes out of his way to say, Hello! I enjoy delivering to this site and more so knowing that Johnny will be there smiling under the mask!

We have been living in RM West for about 6 months and I have never been happier with my living situation. The building is new so everything is in great condition! Its an absolutely amazing location and the staff is always friendly and helpful! I see Diallo in the halls all the time and he always goes out of his way to say hello! By far my favorite place I have lived! Joshua, Johnny, and Blane keep the whole complex looking great and the few small issues I’ve had in my unit were taken care of immediately and completely, even when it was my fault when my cat broke the stove top. Alexis, Leah, and Diallo in the front office are always so knowledgeable and ready to help. Recently, I lost a beloved pet suddenly and not only did the team reach out individually with condolences, but the whole crew got me a thoughtful card and beautiful flowers in her memory. I’m thankful to have such a wonderful place with kind, genuine people to come home to each day.

The location, amenities, and space are great. But what REALLY makes RM West special is the people. In all of my searching, I never encountered people of the quality, professionalism, and friendliness anywhere else. I have lived here for six months. They have three different gyms and useful office space for residents. Ive only experienced a few issues in the new building but maintenance is always quick to respond and make repairs. Blane fixed my dishwasher today in less than five minutes- thank you!

Good place to live. I only lived here two years and only moved out as I am moving out of state. It was a little bumpy when management changed back in 2020 but overall I’ve been very happy.Like someone mentioned below, there have been car break ins for the *phase I* parking garage (this garage is NOT owned/maintained by RM West however). I don’t keep anything of value in my car (and also drive a Hyundai, which is on the lower end of some of the cars in the garage) and still got hit. However it seems like it hasn’t occurred in a while so the garage management company may finally be addressing the issue. The leasing office was quick to respond when I reported the occurrence, but unfortunately they are limited in what they can do as they do not own the garage.Also, occasionally other residents could be a bit of a nuisance (either loud, smoking weed constantly, or leaving dog messes for someone else to clean up) but honestly I’ve experienced that pretty much anywhere I’ve lived that was an apartment.

I love this community! It truly is gorgeous. You can tell the staff really care about their residents. Their leader, Alexis really exemplifies what customer service should always be. Can’t wait to move in!

We LOVE RM West ll! The reason we do is because of the amazing leasing staff. We had to move across state to get here, and only had communications with Alexis through email and phone calls (she even took the time to personally show us a unit virtually). She was nothing short of amazing with making our move stress less (which we all know moving is stress FULL). I simply cannot say enough good things about her and her patience, understanding, and overall just being so darn nice! She was so attentive even with being as busy as I know she is. You can tell she truly cares about her residents and future residents. Don’t let me downplay the rest of the staff though! Leah and Diallo are also ACES! So sweet, kind, and helpful. I hope they all know how much we truly appreciate them and their patience. (I also had a maintenance request shortly after we moved in and they arrived so quickly that day that I forgot I had put the request in!) But I digress! The building is beautiful as well, with fantastic amenities. Very dog friendly which is a huge plus. All in all. Thank the entire staff so much for being as amazing as you are.

RM West is an amazing apartment complex in such a nice area of town. The staff is extremely kind and helpful with anything and everything. Specifically, Diallo has been a huge help with any issues, questions or concerns I ever have. If not for the complex itself, the staff definitely puts RM West over the top for one of the best complexes to live in Kansas City!

Diallo was the absolute best! His personality and work ethic can’t be matched. He gives an upbeat and detailed tour of the community and shows your every thing you would want to know. He takes time and asks the important questions so he can really find what you are looking for. He is innovative and uses sheets the size of queen and king beds to show you how much room you have in the bedroom. It’s only been 4 short months since I’ve moved into RM west, but these 4 months have been an absolutely wonderful. All of the staff is very friendly and respond quickly if anything is needed. One member of the staff who has always been on top of the game is Diallo Simms. He always has the residents best Interest, and it is very comforting to know he is 2 floors up and a phone call away if I ever need anything!

My husband and I have lived at RMWest for 2.5 years and moved into the second phase a year ago. We are happy with the apartment and building, we were lucky enough to get a corner apartment on the top floor. Numerous amenities here, but my favorite is the rooftop lounge. The entire staff is awesome, but for me, it’s Diallo that has made it incredibly fun. He is the leasing agent and is always available to answer questions or just put a smile on my face for the day.

As a Vendor of RM West, it has been such a pleasure to work with Alexis Cronk and the RM West Team. Everyone is so inviting and helpful to our techs. We have called RM West II our home now for about 6 months. We love the location in the River Market and the complex is beautiful. Since day one Diallo has gone above and beyond for us. RM West was a great place to call home. Wish I had found this place when I initially moved to KC two years ago. Moved into their RM West II building which has been an excellent experience. Dog friendly. The management team here is always pleasant, greets you and are quick to help with issues. Theyre always providing us with cool treats in the lobby whenever theres a holiday. Shout out to Johnny the maintenance guy and all the other maintenance staff who bust their butts to keep this place up and running. Just know all the work you guys do doesnt go unnoticed and is really appreciated!Edit:In retrospect, I felt the need to change my review after the last few months of living here and reflecting on the year as a whole. Unfortunately when you first move in, you tend to overlook a lot of things that start to slowly annoy you. For instance, despite the dog friendliness of the building, there tends to be a lot of dog poop everywhere, even with RM west having cameras in the front of the building and easy access to doggie bags. One neighbor had a dog that would poop and pee on their porch and the urine would drip over the balcony onto the walkway below. I also want to add that the dog park at RM West II smells like urine and feces year round. Way too many dogs use it to relieve themselves, and having turf thats sprayed down about once every 3 months doesnt cut it.Another issue was the prevalence of marijuana use, because the smell was obvious in the hallway. I dont care that people smoke it, but when youre in an apartment, it just comes down to common neighbor decency and being aware that your actions are affecting others.We informed the management about neighbors letting their dog defecate and urinate on the porch and the smoking. We were told they reached out to the tenants multiple times, unfortunately these problems persisted.Lastly, we pay $25 each month for trash valet, and it wasnt picked up multiple times in the last month, despite following every single little rule they have about picking it up (eg. tied up tight and neat, in trash bin, cover closed). It honestly seems like the workers just didnt feel like it when they were coming around to pick up trash.

As a landscape and snow vendor we have enjoyed working at RM West. Alexis and her team are very fair, friendly and responsive. We appreciate clients that expect and appreciate good service.

I have to say I’m an extremely hard reviewer, and I can admit I probably have some “Karen” tendencies, however I have to give credit where credit is due . Josh’s team deserve big props, they are always so nice. At one point I was probably calling them one a week for getting my sink stopper stuck upside down, and 9/10 times Blane has been the one to show up. It’s gotten to the point where it’s embarrassing, but he always make me feel like it is no big deal. Whether it’s Diallo, Leah, or Blane the staff at RM at R Mazing!

Johnny on the maintenance team was extremely prompt and polite. I really appreciated his taking time to help me with issues and fixing maintenance requests in a timely manner.

I moved into Phase 2 and had an apartment full of furniture delivered before I moved in. Diallo was awesome in coordinating the deliveries, making sure everything was safely stored until my move date and just generally going above and beyond. I have had nothing but great experiences with RM West, Diallo and the rest of the staff and would highly recommend.

I’ve been a resident at RMWest for over 3 years. We used to live in Phase I and moved over to Phase II in early 2020 when it became available. Not going to lie, we were a bit nervous moving into Phase II because the property had recently underwent new management, but things have been wonderful and the transition has essentially been seamless. We love the location of RMWest, the amenities are fantastic, and the staff is spectacular. Maintenance is prompt and efficient and the office staff is welcoming, friendly, and quick to respond. Our favorite employee has to be Diallo who is also our neighbor and has become a friend. He seriously bends over backwards to accommodate us and brings so much life, fun, and professionalism to the community. It wouldn’t be the same here without him! RMWest is most definitely home and hands down the best apartment I’ve lived in to date, and I will continue to recommend it to friends!

Moving during COVID is tough! But my leasing agent, Diallo, helped make the moving process 10x less stressful. From my virtual tour to my move in day, I have experienced quality customer service. Diallo stands out so much to me because he’s very professional yet he has a way of making you feel like you’re talking to your best friend!Overall, my past 8 months living here have been pretty amazing. My only complaint would be the lack of cleanliness in the elevators. I do wish that was kept up a little better by the cleaning crew or maintenance. When I decided to look move to KC I was unable to travel to tour apartments due to Corona. However RM West had one of the better virtual tours that I got with Diallo. Also, being that I was young and never even ben to the city, Diallo gave me plenty of information to feel safe about my ransisiton. He is the sole reason why I moved to RM West because of the level of comfort he provided back in September. On top of that, knowing that I am a young lady living alone Diallo also answers any maintenance issues or safety concerns I have in a timely manner.

Ive been living here for about 6 months now. I love the location since its real close to work and the staff are welcoming. I had a recent guest stay as well from texas. My guest enjoyed the staff which were diallo and leah, the building, and the areas surrounding the location. I turned down 4 other locations before saying yes to this property. All the other properties blew up my phone and kept asking me who did they lose me too! This one of course! Its real close to downtown, stores, restaurants, the highway, and etc. All the staff helped me in some way such as alexis, leah, and diallo. I had more interaction with diallo since I usually see him when I have a question or a concern. But I hardly ever do.

I was very excited to move here as I am new to KC. The placed seemed great from the tour I had with Diallo, and after reading the reviews, I had high expectations. However, my excitement about living at RM West slowly diminished the day my lease started. To start, there was a fire on my floor early morning (heard ~ 1 am) of the day my lease started, which caused water damage throughout the floor & to my apartment. There was no heads up from the management team letting me know the current situation before I moved in (especially because I did not receive the move in instructions & initial access code to the building until 6am, and since the fire happened at 1am, they very well couldve included it in that email)- I found out when I hopped off the elevator to see workers tearing up the hallway (imagine bringing cart after cart of your belongings up and navigating through a narrow hallway with workers...). Next, I was told my apartment would be unlocked with the keys inside. The door was locked. So, we had to wait to get someone to come unlock it for me. Then, when I tried using the key fob to get back into the building, it was deactivated. So, had to get someone to fix that. Then, my parking access was deactivated as well, so had to wait over an hour for them to get that fixed (and luckily it was before the end of the business day). Then, I could not get out of the parking garage as it requires a code to the door, which was not provided to me. So, I had to call for which seemed to be the millionth time that day and find out how to get out. Moving is always stressful, and problem after problem created by the management here made it even worse. Especially since these were all things that should have been prevented and checked prior to me moving in. Lastly, there has been minimal communication from management regarding the fire remediation. I have torn up baseboards in my closet and hallway, and had a dehumidifier and 2 very large fans running in my apartment for a few days. There has been no communication on when the baseboards will be replaced, or how they will compensate us for the electricity that was used for the dehumidifier and fans (considering the fire and damaged happened prior to me even being able to access the unit, per the 6am welcome email). I really wish I could give more than 2 stars, and after talking to some of the neighbors, RM West really does seem like a great place to live. However, it has not been the welcome home I envisioned. I could have expected close to zero communication and help from my college landlord, but not from a place that prides itself on excellence.

Have been living in RM west for a couple years now. With previous management I would have rated this place 5 stars. However, in the few short months since the changing of management, this place has gone downhill. Theft has been and still is rampant and management has lied and done next to nothing to prevent this. They have taken away the only small free lot to park your vehicle in the middle of a pandemic when many people are working from home. They have a faulty fire alarm system that has gone off 10+ times in the past 2 months at all times of the day and night. I would not recommend.

I just moved into the first phase of RM West, and I have to say that by far the staff here have been nothing but helpful and willing to go the extra mile to make sure I get settled in to this place. With this being my first place of my own, it was already nerve racking getting things ready and making sure that I had myself organized both financially and mentally. With the help from Diallo and everybody, including maintenance, my worries went out the door. I especially want to thank Diallo for putting in the extra time outside of his scheduled work hours, to make sure I was setup, when I was having issues with my bank. Maintenance is AMAZING!!! The first night I stayed in my apartment, I thought there might have been an issue with my hot water heater. I put a request in the app that same night and by the time I woke up the next morning, maintenance had already been in and out of my apartment and fixed the issue. I’m not a heavy sleeper and the fact that they were able to respond and fix the problem in record time and not even bother me, is something I feel itself is definitely worth what I pay for the rent. My favorite amenity without a doubt would be the rooftop firepit. I love going up there at night to sit by the fire and look at the city lights. If you are looking for luxury city living, for an acceptable price, this community is definitely one worth checking out! Thank you to the RM West team and thank you to the community for such an awesome warm welcome. I look forward to getting to know more of you, and enjoying this new place I am privileged to call my home.

I loved living at RM West! Probably the best experience Ive had moving into, living, and moving out. The staff - Jessica, Shelby, and maintenance are seriously what makes this place so great. The level of care they put into their jobs and their residents is something that makes this place one of a kind. If youre looking for a home that is well managed and cared for, look no further than RM West. If it werent for moving out of state, I would have loved to stay. Huge thanks and appreciation for the RM West crew - they are the best!

RM West is a fantastic place to live. We always feel safe and the having the secure parking garage is an added bonus. The management does a great job and the office girls are so nice and always helpful. They do a great job of keeping the grounds safe and maintained. Its also a lot of fun to live here. So many attractions close by. Would recommend RM West to anyone looking to live close to downtown.

Via an online search, I came across RM West, read the positive reviews, and as a result, I unfortunately suggested RM West to a family member moving to KC from NYC. He’s a doctor who’ll be practicing within a 15 minute drive of RM West’s location, so it seemed perfect. When we arrived, however, the individual whose job it is to show the available units, was less than hospitable, particularly to me. One could have cut the pretentiousness of both the atmosphere, as well as this particular employee, with a knife. It was that uncomfortably thick. While I understand the idea is to give the impression that if you reside at RM West, you’ll live in an elite environment of elegance and class, authentic class is well mannered and polite... and, recognizes that the customer as well as the customer’s attendee, deserve respectful and attentive interaction. Fortunately, later in the day, my family member found a lovely place, in a better location, albeit a bit higher in cost...but, definitely well worth it considering the authentic professionalism and pleasantness of the staff.

RM West is an incredible place to live. We have such a great community here. The staff are always friendly, and helpful and they quickly respond to any resident requests. They are always working to make this community a safe place to call home. We love living so close to City Market and the streetcar. We have made many friends and we enjoy socializing and spending time at the pool. It is also great to have a parking garage right next-door. If you are looking for a fun place to live, look no further, RM West is the place to be!

Going on year 2 of living here and have an updated review for the newest property management company and my time here. In short, 5 stars. But it goes deeper than that. The community has changed a bit since I first moved in and the involvement and efforts from the leasing office staff, down to the maintenance team have been phenomenal. During this uncertain covid time period, there’s been a lot in everyone’s daily lives that have ceased or changed. The ability to get ahold of the necessary staff to assist residents in anything from maintenance requests to questions about amenities is something that hasn’t. They are here for their residents and it makes all the difference when you, a resident, are flattered by the newest and fanciest properties in KC. There isn’t a better neighborhood in KC to live in and I’ve been fortunate enough to have found the best property in this neighborhood. If you have new to KC or looking for more of a walkable and friendly neighborhood, please do yourself a favor and talk to RM West! You and your fur babies will be right at home ❤️ From the gorgeous fixtures, the granite countertops and amazing amenities, you’ll have all the comforts you want, but it’s the people that make this place a home!

RM West is a great place to live if youre a young professional. The building always feels safe and secure and the common areas and grounds are kept very tidy. Its also super dog-friendly (theres even a dog run on premises).Location-wise its a block from the streetcar and easy walking distance from a ton of cafes and restaurants. Sadly lots of these places close ridiculously early but that seems to just be KC.The best part of RM West might be the staff. Its obvious that they genuinely care about their tenants. Ive lived in many so apt complexes over the years and the staff at RM West has really been top notch. Jessica, Shelby and Binh are the best!

I moved in almost a month ago with my pupper and we’re loving RM West. I could go on and on about how great the River Market area is, but apartment living is rarely easy and convenient in downtown KC. The staff here are incredibly friendly and welcoming - I never knew the difference it makes until I worked with the team here! Jessica and Shelby run a wonderful property and are always there to greet you and your 4 legged family members with a smile. The maintenance staff and housekeeping team are just as attentive and friendly. The sense of community is infectious and I’ve loved getting to know my neighbors. The units are clean, fresh and the common areas are very well taken care of as well.Parking is decent for residents who choose to rent parking spots: it’s a parking garage with bike racks as well. The only kryptonite I’ve found about RM West is the parking for guests or residents who don’t rent a parking spot. Moving here in the summer with the surrounding area is always buzzing with visitors, I’m curious to see how parking is when the fall/winter months come around and the market and such aren’t as busy. It’s something that’s out of the property’s control and the positives far outweigh the inconvenience of this small detail- just want prospective residents to be aware of it!

RM West is an amazing community and a great place to live! It is a safe gated community in a nice neighborhood. The property management team is AMAZING and very accommodating! I have nothing but great things to say about RM West!

My boyfriend flew in from California to check out this apartment complex as a potential new home for us. He booked a tour with a few weeks anticipation. When he showed up for that tour, his tour was about to be given to a walk-in. After informing the woman that was about to give the tour to a walk-in, that he had an appointment, she proceeded to not honor the appointment. I consider this very unprofessional but we are lucky to not be associated with bad management.

RMWest is a great place to live. The apartments are modern and the building provides a great view of downtown. The pool is fantastic and the outdoor grill/bar area and fire pit are nice ammenities. The leasing agents are incredibly friendly and very helpful. They do a great job of putting on events for the residents and helping people get to know each other.

The manager, Shelby Cavanah, has made my transition to the River Market a breeze. Communication, attention to detail, and friendly face is a refreshing change from the big mega company offerings in the area. A great experience and atmosphere of community. Thanks RM West Team

Well I just had to look up the phone number of RM West to talk about my lease, and got curious about the reviews. Most are all good but Im not understanding some of the comments about bad management. Ive had nothing but awesome experience from everyone that works at RM West. In fact they are the reason I decided to renew my lease. Its a great place to live and it feels very community like, and the gals in the leasing office rock. I dont care what anyone else says. I havent had issues with it being too loud, and if I did I would tell them and they would fix it. From small things that needed to be fixed in my place someone has been in to fix it in less then a half hour. So I highly recommend RM West, and one of the key reasons in the AWESOME management.

I moved to New York City and all I wanna do is move back 😭 Jess is the best person I’ve ever met and I will take a bullet for RM West ANY DAY.
