They are awful. The cars are bad; but the service is worse. Staff yelled at me when I asked for a car that wasn’t broken. Staff threatened to cancel my reservation as well. NEVER AGAIN.

We recently flew into Maui for a much needed retreat from the endless grind and were pleasantly greeted by Ryan of Aloha. He was very helpful from the start, answered all of our questions and made the experience as enjoyable as could be. He even offered us beach chairs and a cooler to borrow for our beach visits! When we extended our stay at the last minute, Nick ensured us over the phone that it wouldnt be a problem except for a vehicle swap which was swift and painless. Being the salesman that I am, I take pride in my ability to spot the snakelike gestures big name rentals use to suffocate their customers but these guys spared our dignity and treated us like human beings. Extending their professionalism and genuine charm, Aloha greeted us with a friendly Aloha! and ended our trip with a sincere farewell with no problems in between.

Best price I was able to find on Maui! The cars are a little older then what you would rent from the big corporate guys, but the savings was worth it to me and my family. Staff was friendly and helpful. If we make it to the island again we will come back to Aloha Rent a Car.

Like other reviewer’s have said, the prices look amazing. However, the cars are all on their last legs. We opted for a mid level convertible, and it began to have engine trouble day one. They swapped it for another convertible, and several days later, more engine trouble. Each time we had to call to remind them to refund the gas we’d put in the car. Our third car was their “top” tier, and still looked rough. The check engine light went on our last day. Don’t waste precious vacation time with their faulty cars.

This is a used car rental agency. We looked at 4 cars and all had 80+ thousand miles on them, noisy engines, bad brakes, dirty inside, etc. Budget had new cars for less money, so we rented there. Aloha had good customer service and gave us a refund and a ride back to the airport.

I reserved an new station wagon and got a very used car that was not even clean. The car also smelled, it seemed like they never cleaned it.The rental contract is a joke. Its an old car with more than 60000 miles and I would be responsible for any mechanical damage that occurs in Hana, Haleakala summit, east side of Maui island, or the west Maui road after kappalua. I just didnt change the car rental company after reading the contract because my card would be charged anyway, since I didnt cancel the reservation two days before arrival.I also had a problem that I never had in other car rental companies: my credit card covers the collision insurance and I wanted them to put a hold in it and then switch the card upon return. They demanded the full payment made with a credit card in advance for me to get the vehicle. In Oahu I rented a car with a big car rental company and didnt have any kind of problem. Plus the rate was better, the car was way newer/ clean/ not smelly.I suggest you guys to do the same. Reserve a car in advance and with a big company. You will get a good rate and avoid trouble. Thanks god I was lucky and the car didnt break down with me. I cant imagine the trouble that it would give me.

This company has taken care of myself and many friends, on all of our visits to Maui. Each time the person handling the reservation has been polite and very accommodating, and at no time tried to sell us something that we did not need.On all trips the car we had requested, was there on time waiting for us, with a friendly person handing us the keys with a smile.

The summary is: you get what you pay for.Alohas prices are good, but you quickly realize why once you see the cars and get to drive them. The biggest problem is their mechanical condition. The first car we got (a van) had wheels so badly misaligned that it was unsafe to drive and we had to return it on the next day. In addition, the brakes were probably worn out so they started smelling after just short downhill rides where frequent braking is required.Another you should beware of is also the external condition. The cars have a large amount of small bumps and scratches everywhere - accounting for all of them is quite difficult.

BEAWARE! Old and OUT DATED cars with false advertisement and ROACHES! They dont tell you about the Cancellation fee AND they lie when they say they hold a 20% hold on your reservation! As I was picked up from the airport I noticed the CHECK-ENGINE light and TIRE PRESSURE light on in the SHUTTLE VAN they picked me up in! I thought, ohh-itll be fine. UNTIL I drove away in my rental car and noticed the TIRE PRESSURE light on and my car shaking as I drove away. I was scared for my life. It was then as I noticed light brown roaches crawling on the dash board. I quickly turned around and drove back to the office. The short-fat rental agent with long hair was a terrible rental agent. No compassion at all. I felt as if she was upset having to help me as a customer. 2 thumbs DOWN on this car rental agency!

My cousin recommended I rent from a local business to save money on my car rental. I rented a Nissan Sentra and even thougth it wasnt new, I loved it. The service was great and they picked me up at the airport and even gave me a ride to the mall when I returned my car. They have newer cars, but I enjoyed the Nissan I got. Definitly would rent from them again!
