We had a difficult heath issue with our puppy and Dr Benbow solved it when we were about to give up hope and opt for a surgical procedure. The staff is always helpful and professional. Reports are clear and easy for the pet insurance company to understand. The online pharmacy and store options are convenient. Huge plus our dog loves to visit the Vet!

When I entered Benbow Veterinary, I was greeted with a positive and welcoming energy. The front desk ladies were so helpful and my vet tech was awesome with my dog. Dr. Benbow sat down with my dog made him feel comfortable and not stressed. He relaxed the entire time during his acupuncture treatment. When we left he was given a treat and one of the front desk ladies (Brittany) helped me with bringing my dog to my car. I am so pleased with how amazing everyone treated me and especially my dog!

I walked in the lobby and there was a girl sweeping the floor. She was very polite and asked how I was doing and if I was Guillermos mom. I said yes and she brought me to a room straight away. I filled out the paper work in the room while I was waiting for the doctor. When the doctor came in she sat on the floor with Guillermo and even let him sit in her lap while she pet him. She was knowledgeable and very caring of Guillermo. Im happy I was given homework to do with Guillermo to help in his recovery. I was told about different supplements that may help him more but didnt feel like I was being pushed to buy products. When I was leaving I looked at the special project gift shop and was very happy to see that there. Over all, the office was clean, the people were polite and knowledgeable and Guillermo is already showing a difference in how he walks and stands. Im looking forward to seeing how well he does after all his sessions. I would highly recommend!

An absolutely incompetent experience. I needed to get my 9yr dog fixed. I spoke with the SPCA who referred me to Benbow Veterinary who participated in the Fix-A-Canine program. This program offers a spay/neuter for $60. Now I understand that price will come with the minimum of care but I did not fathom Benbows shear carelessness. I called as a new client and made an appointment. I told the receptionist my pets age and sent over her medical history. I told her that my pet was currently in heat so I wanted to make the appointment a month out so she could finish her cycle. The receptionist agreed and put me down, having me pay the $60 upfront. No problem. About a week later Benbow called me and said the doctor who was to perform my pets surgery was no longer with them and we needed to reschedule. She said they had an opening in 2 days and they would like to fit me in. Now I know spaying a pet in their heat cycle is more complicated but I assumed Benbow knew this and were ready for the challenge all the same. The day of the spay I wanted to make sure they knew she was in heat so I didnt have any surprises. I called right before bringing her and reminded the receptionist of her heat cycle and making sure they still wanted to do the spay now. She seemed confused and claimed she did not know my dog was in her cycle and had to ask the doctor and call me back. I received a call about 20 min later stating that the doctor was fine with it and to come in. I got in the car and headed over. Upon arriving, the receptionist put me into a room and had me fill out paperwork. I came out of the room to ask a question but before I could talk a technician walked up to the receptionist yelling at her that she had put me in the wrong room and they argued for a minute. So I just went back into the room. The same technician came in and started going over the paperwork with me. Before leaving, she asked if there was anything she needed to know. I repeated that my dog was in her heat cycle. The technician looked very confused and told me they could not spay her in this condition. I told her I had called this morning and was told the doctor said it was fine. So she said ok and I dropped my dog off. A few hours later I received a call saying since my dog was in heat the doctor wanted to place a catheter in her for the additional cost of $90 including an additional in heat fee of $35. I told the receptionist that I had told them she was in heat from the get go and thats why I scheduled the appointment so far out but they had insisted I come in now. I told her I would gladly pick my dog up and return when she wasnt in heat to which the receptionist changed her tune and blamed it on my dogs age. This was the 6TH time I had spoken with someone and at NO POINT did anyone tell me there would be an extra charge for her age or her cycle. I would understand the need completely but after SEVERAL interactions and there being no mention of any issues I can only surmise this was a blatant appempt at extortion. They MADE me come in during her cycle to charge me for it and when I refused the extra charges and voiced my concerns they changed it to being about her age. BOTH facts they knew when I made the appointment and no one had anything to say about them until the bill came. I suppose this is how they make their money using the SPCA as a front to get you into the door. I told them to just do it since I clearly had no choice if I wanted to get her fixed. The doctor called me after the procedure and I went to pick her up. When I got there they told me the manager had taken the extra charges off due to their mistake in communication. I received my dog who was clearly in pain with blood still in her fur and they sent me on my way. No instructions, no pain meds, nothing. The record stated that pain meds were HIGHLY recommended. I wasnt even offered pain meds for purchase. So I finally got my dog bloodied, crying in pain and a day of such an obvious lack of communication, caring and extortion. Do not go here if you value your pets!!

Benbow is a great place and I trust them with my Kelly! Shes doing great after her Spay and they are very helpful with any concerns I may have. I recommend 100%.

Today was the first acupuncture treatment for my dog. Arriving there I felt anxious and worried about his medical condition and was unsure how he would handle the experience. But Dr. Benbow and her entire staff truly were exceptional. The front desk staff was so kind, informative, and they all acknowledged and greeted us. Dr. Benbow and her assistant together made the acupuncture experience easy and painless for my dog. He did so well, in fact, that half way through the procedure he had his tongue sticking out, and he seemed so happy as if he was feeling better already. Dr. Benbow explained the process thoroughly as she went through each step, as well as emailed me additional information. Another thing I appreciated is the phone calls and emails that were sent out as reminders prior to our appointment, and also the staff being friendly over the phone anytime I called. Its not often that an establishment has everyone greeting you, helping you, and caring for you all at once, but today I truly felt that from Dr. Benbow and her staff. Most importantly, I felt they took excellent care for my dog, and truly do care about his health and well-being. I felt safe and confident in trusting him with them. I had to make a couple of appointments for getting some feral cats fixed. They were very nice over the phone making my appointments as well as when I called letting them know I wasnt successful in trapping the cats overnight. Very knowledgeable and the nicest voices over the phone. They know their business in helping animals.

I brought my new puppy Pepper to Dr. Benbow! She was so comfortable, excited to be there, she was very calm during her entire exam and the staff was just so welcoming to her! My Rat Terrier, Jolie, developed trick knee and was unable to walk on her hind leg. My vet at the time would only offer surgery. I had been reading about Dr. Benbow for several years and wanted to change but knew she was in demand. Luckily, a friend of mine worked for Dr. Benbow and she asked if I could bring Jolie and Dr. Benbow said yes, of course. I was immediately impressed with the entire operation. You know, your front office staff set the tone with the patients. My former vet had a very rude person working their reception area which never made anyone feel welcome. Anyway, Dr. Benbow completed one acupuncture treatment on Jolie and she NEVER LIMPED AGAIN. We completed three treatments to be certain and to date, shes never had any further issues with her leg and that was two years ago. Last summer, I moved back to my hometown about an hour outside New Orleans and I took my baby to another vet who hurt her just giving her allergy shot. Jolie never knows shes even getting a shot from Dr. Benbow or her staff. And what a blessing that Dr. Benbow now offers extended hours. We have happily returned to Benbow VS and there we will remain. Youre always greeted with a smile and pleasant welcome and they are genuinely glad to see you. I wholeheartedly and without reservation recommend Dr. Cynthia Benbow and her team. My dog received the best care here recently when he had to have a malignant mast cell tumor removed. Everyone was so friendly and compassionate. The doctors are fantastic! I brought my 16 yr old dog to Dr. Benbow today for her first acupuncture session. When entering we were greeted warmly and were immediately recognized even though it was our first visit. My 10 year old beagle was having problems walking because of arthritis and spondylosis. Our vet (an uptown vet), was just giving her pain medication, and wasnt helping her. He said she needed more, and more pain medication. I found Dr. Benbow online while searching for a pet acupuncturist.When we arrived, my dog was stiff like a robot. She left feeling better, and walking better after the acupuncture session. Not only did Dr. Benbow help my dog with several acupuncture follow ups, but she also changed her diet, and gave me a lot of tips to improve my dogs overall health.Dr. Benbow not only saved my dog, who now looks and acts like a puppy, but was always available for questions, and her gracious team has always been there for us (we have 3 dogs). She doesnt work on Thursdays because she takes these days to study and keep up with the latest medical knowledge.Dr. Benbow, Victoria, Brooke, Jessica, and all the women that work at this office are fabulous! I cant say less. I am very sad we are moving to another city and not being able to take them all with us!Thank you for caring for our pets!

I have been going to Dr. Benbow for the past 7 years and not once have I ever been displeased with her service. Her staff is just as awesome. They are all so welcoming and super friendly. They cared for my little dog as if she was their own. Continuous love! This is not just a job for anyone there. I recently moved from around the corner to 14 miles away and although there are plenty vets close by, the drive is more than worth it to me. On my most recent visit, I met the new Dr. on staff, Dr. Newman, and just like Dr. Benbow, she is phenomenal! If you havent tried BVS, I suggest you do. Wonderful service from all staff and vet at Benbow. Everyone has been and continues to be very understanding and caring for my fur babies. I have been an emotional mess since my dogs cancer diagnosis in April but the staff and vets have offered nothing but compassion through this trying time.On our first appointment, Dr. Benbow reassured and walked me through what would happen during her tumor removal surgery. Made sure to emphasize that someone would be with my girl through whole procedure and she would constantly be monitored before, during, and after. That was a big relief for me to know she would be in great hands and truly cared for. Surgery day came along and Dr.Newman was wonderful and empathic to my concerns. She called before surgery and as soon as my sweet girl was successfully out of surgery. She informed me she was able to remove all of the tumor . She answered my endless questions with patience. About a month ago another lump appeared at incision site so scheduled an appt and was seen by Dr. Ducoing. Again my pup and I were shown nothing but understanding and compassion. Lump turned out to be her body healing and adjusting to the sutures. And no cancer cells found in it. Can’t thank vets and staff enough! With great care from Benbow vets, my pup is doing great and her outlook is very optimistic.

I recently moved to New Orleans from Atlanta and was worried about being able to find a great Vet like the one we had back home. Benbow VS has not disappointed! I brought my 17-yr-old cat to Benbow Vet Services for acupuncture treatments in hopes of improving her arthritis. None of the supplements I had been giving her seemed to be working, and my regular vet had nothing to offer her in the way of medicines. After one treatment she was walking better and not falling off things anymore. Shes had several treatments since and continues to do well. Im so glad I found something to help her that works and is free of side effects. The staff at Benbow is always courteous, helpful, and super friendly. Id recommend them to anyone for veterinary care.

I don’t know how this place has such great reviews. I called to simply ask how much shots would be and they literally took down my address, phone number, dogs names and ages and every single piece of info they could and STILL couldn’t give me a quote. They emailed it to me and it was almost $300! Per dog! I usually pay $100. On top of that they want to charge for an exam fee. I don’t know how this vet is still in business for charging such outrageous amounts. I have never seen a vet who charges this much and it’s sad they are ripping people off. You can go to anyone else in town and still find great treatment for 1/3 or 1/4 of the cost!

Dr. Benbow is amazing. Both of our dogs love her and her staff who know them by name and love and cuddle with them at each visit. Macy is 13 and has always been sweet but lately didnt seem herself. Thinking she might be in pain, we talked to Dr. Benbow. We had just a few sessions of acupuncture and Macy is back to her much younger, sweeter and spunkier self. I highly recommend Benbow Vet for routine needs, as well as specialized needs such as acupuncture and surgery. I feel whatever our need has been, Benbow Vet has far exceeded them always going the extra mile.

In my decades of owning pets, Benbow services is my absolute favorite clinic I’ve ever been to. Dr Benbow herself is knowledgeable, friendly and takes the time to really explain what’s going on and to walk through treamenr options. The vet techs are always extremely helpful and sweet. While Benbow is not the closest option to my home, it is the best and it is always worth the extra drive for the quality care.

This is our second Great Dane that Dr. Benbow has treated with acupuncture as they have aged. The regimen provides the relief that she needs to live her life without the pain she was in previously. Dr Benbow is kind, caring, and patient with my 130 pound Great Dane. During our sessions we discuss health and behavioral issues and laugh at all the goofy things that Great Danes are famous for doing!

Dr. Benbow is an amazing veterinarian and acupuncturist! I have been taking my pets to her for years now (since her clinic was on W. Metairie!) and have always had positive experiences. She is kind, caring, and knowledgeable! Her staff is great and I know they will handle my pets with care. Her acupuncture capabilities are amazing and I have seen how much they have helped my cat Pheonix with his elderly kitty issues as well as pancreatic insufficiency. I would recommend her to anyone who wants the best care for their pet. She also knows when to send out to a specialist and does not try to treat beyond the capabilities of her clinic, unlike some veterinarians. Great vet!

Every time I bring our dogs to see Dr. Benbow we are treated with compassion and respect. Everyone there is professional and very personable. I’ve been hit with hidden charges at OTHER Vets.It’s a blessing to have found a doctor who tells it like it is, SHOWS compassion and not hit me with a bill I can’t handle at the end of the day.It is very obvious that Dr. Benbow is all about our animals health.I would highly recommend Benbow Vetenary Clinic to anyone. Dr. Benbow was wonderful with my senior lab. She is a wealth of information and gives plenty of options. The office is so nice and welcoming too. We did our first acupuncture treatment and will be back for regular visits.

What a wonderful experience for both of our geriatric pups, Jazz, who is 14+ and Rex, who is 11+. Jazz had surgery this spring to remover a cancerous growth on his lip, and his recovery was amazing. Jazz is now undergoing acupuncture for arthritis. He just had his fourth acupuncture session with Dr.Benbow this morning. The improvement is remarkable. Jazz and Rex have been to a lot of veterinarians over the years, and we have never been in such a caring, loving environment. Dr. Benbow and her staff, Victoria, Brooke and Jessica, are all so compassionate and loving to our old pups. I highly recommend Benbow Veterinary Services.

Dr. Benbow literally saved my dog’s life and I can’t say enough good things about her and the staff at Benbow Veterinary Services! After seeing multiple vets and having to face the horrific decision of putting my 15 year old baby through neck and back surgery to end her pain and suffering, or to say good-bye, I found Dr Benbow.After just one acupuncture session my little dog started showing signs of her pain reducing, which got better and better everyday. After the second session one week later she started to walk again and by the time we went for the third session she was active and alert. It was nothing short of miraculous and I will be eternally grateful to Dr. Benbow for ending her pain and giving me more time with my baby!

Changed veterinary services following my dogs mammary gland removal. Dr. Benbows clinic agreed to step in for suture removal and all follow-up care. The office staff could not be more kind and accommodating. Sam was very patient, professional and welcoming at the front desk. Gabby was our tech, and she treated me and my dog with loving kindness...insisted on greeting my dog at floor level prior to beginning any information gathering! Dr. Boudreaux was gentle and attentive to the dogs needs and to mine, as well!!! She was very thorough, answered all questions completely and helped me to understand at a lay-person level! The clinic is warm and inviting. There are clean terrycloth towels over cushions on exam tables, for the animals comfort. My dog was immediately relaxed and comfortable, and I was very grateful for this most welcome change in providers. We love Dr Benbow! We bring Apollo, our rescue cat, for his checkups and fix ups when he gets into neighborhood scuffles. Appointments are easy to get and theres no long wait once you get to the office.

I am new to the Metairie area and I called Benbow Veterinary Clinic because of location and Google listings. When I called I was welcomed immediately and able to get my dog Skipper in the very same day for a shot he was missing in order to get into the dog park that weekend. Their professional care and love of animals was very evident... I look forward to bringing skipper back when needed.

I never would have thought that acupuncture was my little koko bears way to become pain free until I was referred to Benbow! I cannot adequately express how grateful I am to the entire Benbow team! After Bella was given ear medicine by another veterinary office that lead to ototoxicity and hearing loss, I called Benbow one evening. The person I spoke with could not have been nicer--saying she was so sorry this happened to Bella and that she would speak to the vets to see if trying acupuncture would be worth it. i received a call back the next day and had an appointment scheduled. Dr. Ducoing is simply amazing. She is so patient with Bella! And I cant speak highly enough about the techs who are so kind as to let Bella lick peanut butter off their fingers while they love on her. After 2 acupuncture treatments, Bellas hearing began coming back and has only improved with each subsequent visit. There are so many little touches that the Benbow team does that mean so much--a sweet note after our first visit, the exceptionally kind staff, the accommodating schedules, etc. We will definitely be clients for life!!

Dr. Benbow is awesome! Her knowledge in veterinary medicine and skill with acupuncture has helped my dog to have less pain from arthritis, allergies, and neurological discomforts. She works in coordination with my regular Vet. She really listens to our observations and researches any food or supplements for harmful ingredients. This place is clean with no residual pet odor. She hand picks her staff so they are talented, caring and friendly just like her. Only thing she doesnt offer is bathing pets.
