We got a rental car here for a great price! It was not new and a little dinged up (which the rental agency fully disclosed in advance), but had AC and power locks and windows and got us around the small island really well! We were grateful it wasn’t too fancy (it can be windy in Maui and door dings aren’t uncommon). Also grateful that the agency surprised us by reducing the price when we arrived—they said that was to reflect a drop in market value, since demand was less than when we originally booked. We got great shuttle service pickup at the airport (10 minutes or less waiting) and appreciated being able to drop the car off in the airport parking lot before our early morning flight (for a very small cost). We rented a car for the week, although older and a little banged up, couldnt beat the price. The shuttle was quick from the airport and the car was ready and waiting for us when we arrived. They even offered an extra driver and ice chest for free. Overall great experience and would rent from this company again.

We rented a 2014 Ford Mustang convertible. Their prices were definitely the cheapest and the people were very nice. They picked us up from the airport in a shuttle. It took a little while for them to arrive but not a big deal. The car looked pretty banged up: ripped seats, etc. But again, for the price, we could live with that. The major concern was when it started raining hard when we were in Kihei. Turns out the wiper blades were trashed. We could barely see with the wipers going full speed. We were doing the drive to Hana the next day and knew wed likely encounter rain so we decided to buy new blades ourselves. Cost $60 but it was a life saver when it started down pouring on the Road to Hana the next day. If it hadnt rained in Kihei for us to see how bad the blades were it could have been very bad. I hope the company can spend more time checking the safety mechanisms like wiper blades because that can be a serious safety issue in a place that gets a lot of rain. So make sure your wiper blades are in good condition before you drive away or at least while in a town where you can get new blades if you need them. I can sacrifice cosmetics, but not safety.

I was a little nervous making a reservation with a place that was not a major rental car company. But this company is Awesome. ALL other rental car companies need to learn from Aloha Rent a Car. Our car was up front and ready when we arrived, and the return process was even easier. On our next trip, we would definitely use Aloha again; we will also refer to friends. Great job!

I have to say Im very disappointed at Aloha Rent A Car. This was my first time traveling to Hawaii and my partner and I really wanted to support local business and decide to give Aloha a try.A few months prior to our vacation, we booked for three day car rental but paid for four days, since they have a four day minimum policy. The reservation went through and confirmed. On the first day of rental, we called for airport shuttle service and were picked up in about 20 mins, which wasnt too bad.Later the nightmare began. We arrived at the car rental office and realized we needed the car 1-2 hours more than our original reservation, so I asked if this is possible, since I paid for four days anyway. The general manager (I believe) was very inflexible about this and stressed that someone else needed the car so we have to return on time. Despite inflexibility, we thought it was fine to stick to the original plan and signed the rental contract. After signing, we were told to wait outside as the car had some mechanical issues and needed a fix. I was unhappy about this since it was a waste of our vacation time, and because of me showing my feeling I was threatened and educated by the staff that if I showed my attitude“ again they will go ahead and cancel my reservation.I felt very frustrated and was so done with this terrible customer service. I immediately looked up and booked with Budget for a convertible with similar price. I wish this business could do something and treat their customers with respect, otherwise I would suggest to avoid renting from them at all cost.

I usually rent from Avis, but on a recent trip to Maui Avis had zero cars so I went with Aloha. Was very pleased. Our flight arrived 2 hours late and when I landed I had a voicemail from a lady at Aloha saying they noticed my flight was late and they would hold the car for us. I also arrived after hours and they had a van waiting to shuttle me to the facility. The offices were closed by the guy fairly quickly had us sign paperwork and off we went. Ive heard nightmare stories about car rentals in Maui this summer (2021) but I have nothing but good things to say about my experience at Aloha. (Price was also less than half of what my parents paid for their rental from a Hertz).

Nice car and affordable prices and easy to get a hold of. Unfortunately, the alignment was WAY off (steering wheel was at 11 oclock when the car was going straight) and the windshield wiper fluid was either low or not working appropriately. Weird glare on the windshield at night as well. Overall, I dont know how the alignment could be so far off without their knowledge. Im just glad my friends had their own car rental because theres no way I would drive to Hana with the steering wheel pointing the wrong way. I did inform them of the problems when I returned the car, so hopefully these issues have been remedied.

We originally had a rental with Hertz but when we show up, they end up not giving us a car. 🤬We were completely desperate and ready to go back home right away, because not having a car in Hawaii is worthless. Then we found about Aloha Rent A Car on Google and there we meet the most incredible woman on earth: VELKIS.She literally did the impossible to save our vacation by helping us finding a car for way less than our original rental price. She didnt charge us for a lot of things to be sure that the car could be in our budget. Anyway, I end up crying at her desk. 😅So, if you are looking for a rental car in Maui in an agency own by people with big heart and lot of empathy. I highly recommend ALOHA RENT A CAR! 👍🏾

This must be your go-to car rental place in Maui. We needed a car very last minute when we arrived on spring break. No place had cars and the big airport rentals wanted an absurd amount for the few cars they had. We got a car here for 1/5 of the price, and they really came through doing whatever they can to find us a car for the week. Thank you so much Bell I think was her name or whomever is manager you were great as well as Shelby who was happy to give recommendations on what to do in the island something those big brand rental places are too busy to help out with.

Aloha Rent A Car came up huge for us. We had a car reserved with Turo for several months prior to our trip to Maui. The lady we were renting from canceled our reservation a week prior to our arrival. This left us scrambling last minute to find a car to rent. Aloha had availability when nobody else did, which is crazy to me because Aloha had newer vehicles to rent at cheaper prices. The shuttle picked us up quickly from the airport and dropped us off about a mile away at the rental facility. They even waived some rental fees for us. The car itself was clean and well maintained. No issues what so ever. And the lady working the front desk was incredibly helpful and nice. We will be using Aloha again if we are lucky enough to visit Maui again in the future.

Best pricing, great service, I have been going to them for years and I recommend them to all my friends who ask. I dont need the newest car on the road, but a convertible for a week, usually under $300? Never a problem, Im a lifetime customer. The beach chairs and cooler are a nice bonus.January 2020 Update:My experience this month was a reminder that if you do not get picked up at the airport by 4:00 you will be charged $35 and you will pick up your car at the airport (without beach chairs). The website says 4:30 but I landed at 4:10, tried to call, couldnt connect, and by the time I did it was 4:30. My car was already parked at the airport so its pretty clear that was my only option--even though my version of the contract from a couple months earlier was $35 less. This did not make me happy, especially since I had just written such a glowing review and had never experienced a bit of trouble with Aloha. Ill continue to use Aloha but I dont appreciate the way this was handled and Ill be sure to not let this happen again.

Ive used these guys 5 or 6 times now and it has always been outstanding value for money and amazing service. The cars are older and has marks and dents etc, but this is truly reflected in the rental cost compared against the big companies. I always try to shop and use local when Im on the Island, but I go to Maui Camping, because for me the 5 Star experience isnt found in a resort, its found with the beauty of the Island and the warmth of the locals. Works really well, I did the reservation over the phone a few days before my arrival. I had arranged to pick up the car in the airport because my flight arrived late. I ended up also dropping off the car at the airport, really small fee for these extras. I got a Nissan Altima 2015 in a perfect condition and no problem at all during the time I was with the car, 10 days. Really good price and the attendants very friendly.

This might be the easiest rental agency ever. We showed up very late on a flight they had a driver there to greet us the he drove us to the car in the airport parking lot and we were off the. The paper work was basically completed when we were there so just signatures were placed on the form. The car is a few years old but in sound condition. I saved a ton and got great 5 star service.

This is the best way to rent a car on Maui. Why pay higher rates for nationwide companies. aloha was way more flexible and willing to work with me on the type of vehicle I wanted and even extended my rental for a nominal fee when we got trapped on the island due to some fires.

This is a good rental car company. You get what you paid for, which is a couple hundred dollars cheaper per week than the other rental car companies. The car we had had nearly 100k miles, which came with normal wear and tear. Nothing went wrong during our rental! You do have to pay for parking upon exiting the rental car facility and they charge $20 extra to check in and another $20 to check out after business hours. So make sure to add an extra $55 to your estimated total if you have any early/late flights.

We had a great experience with Aloha Rent A Car for our 12 day honeymoon on Maui! We rented an older car which worked just fine and was much cheaper than other rental places. We were even able to get free beach chairs, boogie boards, and a cooler which was awesome. Quick and easy pickup and dropoff from the airport too! :)

We rented through Aloha Rent a Car during our trip in Maui. Everything was spot on. Called when picked up bags and shuttle came within 15 minutes. Car pick up was also pretty fast. While returning the car, shuttle was there right away. Shuttle driver helped us with our baggage. Car wasnt the new one, but ut was the one we choose and took us everywhere we went on island of Maui. Price was way cheapwr than renting from the big companies. Staff at Aloha rent a car was curteous and nice. If we ever come back to Maui again, which we hope, we will rent from them again.

This is horrendous. We made a reservation over a month ago for a rental car informed them we had someone coming in after hours (at 5) so they supposedly arranged a greeter to meet our party and gave us contact number. The supposed greeter reported knowing nothing of this and was unable to give us a number of someone to help, hung up on us several times and now is unreachable. Now our guest is stranded at the airport. This is beyond unacceptable.

Yes, they might look scratched and worn out, but they are in good running condition and safe, if you not looking for luxury.Me and my wife rented a convertible mustang that we got satisfied with. It served for all our needs.We call to book in advance, personnel talked to us nice and friendly. After arrival we called them, they send a shuttle bus to pick us up. There was less then 5 minutes drive to their place without trafic.The procedure went fast, but my advice is to check everything carefully. You never know. Three rental cars later... car broke down on the road to Hana. 4 hours later tow truck guy came to Hana which I had to fight for them to come to Hana to drop the new rental off. Otherwise they wanted me to wait on the side of the road. The tow truck guy was grumpy and rude. Made it seem like it was my fault the car broke down and that I was an idiot for where I had to leave the car at the side of the road. Second on my drive home from Hana I got a flat tire when I called the emergency number I was told there was nothing they could do and I needed to call in the morning regarding my complaints. Lucky two kind people came by and put on my spare which did not habe enough air in it but I made it home safe. The company manager told me they would not charge for the tire in light of what happened the day before and have me two days refund. The manager said that the refund would show up in email. Two days later nothing in my email. So, I still have to deal with them. Uuugghh

We checked most car rentals in the area, and found that Aloha Rent a car had the best prices. We rented a Ford Mustang convertible 2007 for 16 days total. It turned out that there was some missing routine maintenance on the car, (the steering was ratteling). After telling them this they were both very friendly and understanding, and immediately gave us a new Ford Mustand convertible that worked flawlessly. (They even upgraded us to a 2010-model for free for the remaining of the rental period. They also allows delivery at the airport after closing hours for a small fee.

We saved probably $500 renting an older car from Aloha. We were here for 25 days during peak season. It was a Ford Taurus scratched and dinged up but the inside was clean and not torn. We just wanted the AC to work and have a trunk. The first car had AC issues after a day so we brought it back and they gladly exchanged cars. The AC was not as cold as it should be so they added freon and it was good for the rest of the vacation. If you dont mind using an olddr car the price is right.

By researching the site I found a very proud “WE CARE ABOUT OUR CARS AND SERVICE” and an inviting general impression. The prices are attractive.However, the cars SUPPLIED at the published rates are well below the north American standards and are in fact more like what is known to be a “RENT’A’WRECK” situation.The cars seem to be well over 5 years old and have mileage well over its healthy life span. The first car showed the engine’s ‘warning light’ on after one day of driving. We exchanged such car with lots of discussion I classify as unpleasant! When the engine stops running - Failing Power brake? Failing Power steering? Danger situations are waiting to happen on roads un-familiar to us!The exchange car was black. With Hawaiian temperatures and sunshine – a black car! The air-condition was not working. I was too tired to argue with the staff about the condition of their fleet and yet another exchange.I do not recommend doing business with this group. I recommend the use a reputable, worldwide known CAR-RENTAL company.

We picked this rental company because it was local and had positive reviews on yelp. Hopefully, our experience is unusual because it was potentially very very dangerous.We rented a 2007 convertible and for the first two days it was fine. On the road to Hana, however, the battery died. By this time, it was getting dark and we had no cell reception. Locals came by and helped us jump the battery. About 20 minutes later, all the cars electrical components stopped working. This means that there was no steering and no breaks. Luckily, we were on a part of the road that wasnt extremely steep, my husband was able to stop the car with the emergency break and push it as close to the side of the road as possible. Had we been on a different section of the road, the cars failure could have been fatal.We got a lift with some people passing by. When I got cell reception again, I called Aloha and managed to speak with a manager named Vince. Vince basically told me that I would be liable for any damage to the car because I had abandoned it. I explained that it was a dangerous situation, the car was dead, I had no cell coverage and it was getting dark. Vince told me that his only obligation was to get me another car at the pickup location at the airport. I said the car was a danger to others as it was getting dark and unmarked on a narrow road. He said he would send a tow truck.Extremely nice people drove us the two hours back to Paia and Aloha picked us up and brought us to their lot to pick up a new car.The next day when we went to drop off the car, the company acted as if nothing had happened and was still charging us the full rate. We brought up what happened and they discounted us for one day. We explained the potentially very dangerous situation that the cars failure put us in, but there was not even an apology. We were told that someone would speak to the owner and they would contact us. That was a week ago, and we have not heard from them.Later we learned that one of the big car rental companies was not only cheaper but offered 24 hour road side assistance. We will not be renting a car from Aloha ever again.
