I will always use Alamo whenever I need to rent a car. Their customer service, ease of booking and returning cars, it just cannot be beat. Even when others have a better rate sometimes, it is always worth it to use Alamo simply to avoid headaches! Simply the best!

Overall the car was nice and it was clean. Price was as expected. When I drove away from the car lot the low washer fluid warning light came on. We didnt drive very far and the time to change engine oil service light came on. Maybe closer attention to service requirements is needed!

Rental went well. Was able to select any car in the row for full-sizee cars - had several minivans there - so was able to get free upgrade into a minivan. The car had a bit of smell but drove fine.

This was truly a great rental experience. The auto was available as promised with a great selection . It was clean and well serviced. I was literally in the car and out of a very busy rental lot in less than ten minutes. The return process was just as expeditious, which is a real plus when there is usually a rush to catch a flight. I also received a rental invoice in my e-mail the same day. Alamo truly made the experience as easy as it has ever been for me in my years of car rentals.

The service was really good and quick. I would ask that Alamo rep points out if there is damage to rental. This held us up for 15 minutes when we returned vehicle.

Alamo has always been my first choice. We had a great time in Maui, all thanks to the car Alamo provided us. It was a nice Chevy Impala, state-of-the-art, for a very reasonable price (bear in mind we reserved the car almost 8 months prior to our trip). I was a little upset the price was good but the service wasnt good I purchase a compact car and got a large mini van I booked this rental a day in advance,I couldnt really enjoy this rental or my vacation because the cost of gas and small roads in the city i was going to travel the city but I had to stay local because the van was to big to travel around the people there could of gave me a better car they had so many cars Alamo I had know plans riding around in a large family vehicle

Staff was very helpful and friendly. They took the time to go over the car and point out existing dents and dings so you knew you weren’t responsible for them. The entire process from stopping at the desk to check in to getting into the car was easy. The return process was just as fast. Highly recommend using Alamo for rental car needs.

I rented a car from Alamo 15 years ago and what a different experience this was. I rented it this time through Costco and wondered if this Alamo would be like San Diego 15 years ago which was not a good experience. We arrived on Maui last week and Alamo on Maui is a well functioning company. We had a very different experience this time. The wait in Maui at all of the car rental locations can be an hour or more. However, with Alamos online choice to walk to your car there is no line. We selected our car from a group of full sized cars and drove out from the rental center within a few minutes. The car was excellent and the return was just as easy. I can only hope other locations work as well.

Alamo is always my preferred rental car company. Easy to work with, you get to pick your car from the car type you booked and what is available, they also do not charge deposits which is nice. Highly recommend!

What a great rental car experience - definitely exceeded my expectations. We rented a Jeep Wrangler in Maui - car was super clean and in great condition. Check-in was very fast and efficient and we were in our car within 20 minutes from arriving at counter. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and I was even greeted by the manager Marissa. Returning the vehicle was also super smooth. So glad I rented with Alamo - I had mostly rented from Hertz and Budget in the past but will happily go with Alamo in the future. Excellent service, quality of people and wonderful people!

We were able to get a car, we had reserved it months ago fortunately. We did have to switch from one car to another when the key fob wasnt fully functional. The car was in good shape. Service was quick, turn in was easy.

Staffs were friendly, quickly and didn’t ask you to purchase anything extra if you didn’t need to. Also, they upgraded my car without charging any fee on top of that.When I returned my car, supper fast and easy, the staff always have smiles on their face, and asking if they need to improve anything to make you feel better!

From the reservation to the return, this was an easy rental process. We traveled during the great pandemic, so we reserved a rental online. I chose the skip the counter option. When we made it to the rental location, we walked straight to the vehicle that we wanted and the keys were inside. Showed the reservation at the exit of the location and were off!When returning the vehicle, we just pulled up to the drop off location, jumped out, grabbed our luggage and were off!Nice, simple, and efficient rental process!

We had issues with our rental and the staff both through customer service and at the airport made the car exchange easy and seamless as possible. It took less than 10 minutes for us to get back on the road and continue with our vacation. I am highly impressed with this company and recommend them for your Hawaii reservations. This was painless. The trolley takes you to the car rental, do your normal confirmation. The desk was friendly. From there, we held up our reservation number and a nice lady in thr garage waved to us and said pick any car in these two lakes. Friendly again. The car had some minor scratches which were noted before we left. Return process also simple. Thank you.

Alamo is the best. From being able to skip the counter and go right to my car. To surprising me and upgrading me at no extra charge. And the friendly service when I was greeted in the garage. They go above and beyond. Not to mention my tank wasn’t full when we picked it up, and when I brought it back, I let them know it wasn’t a full tank. They reimbursed me for the half full tank. Was just a wonderful experience like always!!!

Price gouging makes this an ugly review for Alamo. Yes, COVID caused a shortage of rental cars, but a 300% increase in weekly rental rates for a full-size car was outrageous. We’ve been going to Hawaii every year for over 10 yrs. and the weekly rate has varied from $350 to $425 or so. This year the weekly rate was $1057.You can blame all you want on the pandemic but we will remember how you took advantage of a situation. There is no justification that can explain how you and the other companies took advantage of peoples vacation plans because you could. A 300% increase would never be justified for any rental whether it was an apartment lease, a home improvement tool, or an AirBnB. You simply did it because you could and no reasonable person could see it otherwise.

Alamo in Maui, the people were great, knew how to deal with the virus questions. Had a really nice mustang convertible, with heated and cool seats. Mileage was 25 mpg. Car was clean, drove well top worked perfect. Just a really good experience. Alamo has always out shined the other car companies over the years. Will be my first choice

There were 3 customers in the whole store... me, my husband, and another lady I didnt know. A big giant waiting room.. and they made my husband stand outside because of covid and social distancing.There were more staff inside than customers! They were very rude and rushing. I hope they improve their standards to make more sense and be more reasonable in the future.

At the airport rental location in Maui, they only had 1 person helping people at the pick up area. Given that its the airport, they should have had multiple people working. The long 45 minute wait, is the only reason for the 3 stars. The car was clean and in good condition. The drop off process was quick and easy.

We recently rented from Alamo in Maui. The pick-up was easy as well as the return. The car was in great condition. The cost was a really good deal for the 9 days. Customer service at Alamo ALWAYS gets a 10 in my book. Hence, we typically only rent from Alamo.

There is big demand for cars in Maui at the moment. We reserved our car well in advance of our visit. We also provided our credit card number so we could go right to the car and not need to see anyone at the Alamo counter. It was a smart thing to do. The wait to see an agent at the counter was at least an hour long. Instead we went directly to our car and were out rental area in less than 5 minutes. The return service was seamless and efficient.

Great experience with my rental car. The people were courteous and professional. The car was in great condition ran perfectly for all of our journeys during the week we had it.

Rented a minivan in Kahului, HI. GREAT people there! I was able to skip the check in and went directly to the rides. Who isnt in a hurry to get vacation started? Found one that had power windows, doors & hatch. Key FOB had remote start, opened both power slide doors and hatch. Great for when youre approaching with a load of stuff. Dodge knows what people need. Check in guys were friendly and quick. Masked up like everyone else too.(Im always worried that Im forgetting something at that time too). Definitely will use Alamo again.

Alamo at OGG was amazing. Good vehicle, good price and great staff to deal with.

We expected a VW Atas or equivalent. When we arrived they didnt have any VW Atlas and we were pointed to a Dodge Durango which was going to be too small. The Alamo CS people quickly pointed us to our choice of Nissans that would meet our needs.The car worked well for us all 8 days we had it.

Terrible. I contacted lost item report called the alamo customer service and location that my car was dropped off. Still have not heard back in two weeks and I had very important documents that I am still missing. Would not recommend

After hearing the horror stories about rental cars on Maui we were a little concerned. All of our concerns were laid to rest when we arrived at the front door of Alamo. We were greeted at the door by a young man wearing a medical mask, he reviewed our documents and guided us to the proper agent. Since we preordered our car all of the documents were in place, we showed our licenses, credit card and were sent down stairs to pick up the car. Our minivan was waiting for us, checked it over and we were on our vacation.

Booked a Jeep with Alamo. Enjoyed the week with a good rate. Called in advance to let them know we may need the car for 2 hours extra as our flight time changed. They stated they would charge us an additional $150. Lol That’s 3x my daily rate! Won’t use a company that take advantage of a customers inconvenience.As an update the manager addressed my concerns and I was not charged any additional fees.

2021- MarchWe used Alamo through our Costco membership.From the OGG airport, you have to take the train which came in less than 2 minutes.There was no one in the car rental place and the staff in the front desk was so efficient we were out of the Alamo facility in 5 minutes. The staff was nice. The car we received was a year old and it was very clean inside and outside.It was a breeze from the start to finish.Have fun driving!

The automobile was great. The service person at the end of the rental was very helpful and took care of the situation very well. Highly commend him for his service to us.My main problem was that we had to wait for around an hour for our car. We were told they would call our name when the vehicle was ready. We were about 20 feet away from the dispatch personnel the entire time. When we checked on our car we were told that they called my name. No one in our party of four heard them call. When they did call someones name they went around the area calling the name.We talked two friends to come with us to Maui. They had never been to Hawaii before and it was disappointing to have the problem we did. Ive been using Alamo for around 20 years and we go to Maui every year.Thankfully the technician at the end of our trip shared our pain and sympathized with us which did help the situation.

The Jeep we picked up at Lihue Airport may have been one of the cleanest rental cars I have ever had. Inside front window was spotless as well dash and remainder of car.

Great experience! I used Alamo to rent a car in Maui. Booked through Orbitz, well before the current surge in travel sent rental prices sky high! I used the Skip the Counter check-in, which was also excellent - we got to choose from a group of similar sized cars - kind of nice to pick the make/model/color of your preference!We ran into one wrinkle when I returned the car - the rate they charged me was over twice the price - probably related to the price bumps I noted earlier. But a quick conversation with customer service at the return area, and showing them my reserved weekly rate, they made the change in about five minutes, no hassle at all. Overall an excellent experience! Thank You!

We rented a sedan on Maui and the key fob failed due to a previous renter taking the fob into the water, which caused rust to accumulate. After phoning Alamo, they quickly arranged for a tow and an uber to take our group. While waiting for the tow and uber, we were able to open the fob and get the car started and the next day Alamo exchanged our vehicle and refunded a day of rental. Ive used Alamo in the past and the checkin and checkout were smooth and quick, and overall the vehicle met our needs and expectations.

I had an excellent experience with Alamo. I had a choice of Makes and Models in the class size vehicle I wanted. The unit was very clean inside and out with no damage. The return processes was very quick and efficient. The attendant directed us on where we needed to go to get back to the terminal. I would definitely advise renting from Alamo.

Ridiculously high prices. The car rental cost more than my first class airfare.There was no shortage of vehicles either. When I chose my full size car I had my pick of 20 others. Alamo appears to be exploiting the pandemic and gouging their customers. I am reconsidering my next trip in a few months.

This place was the worst place my family has ever rented a car from. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. We got are car and it wasn’t cleaned and every time you turn on the air conditioning it smells like cat urine. It was super embarrassing we got a big car to fit other family in the car and every time we got in not only did we think it stunk and was gross they would comment on it as well. We got the car Friday afternoon so we called Saturday to switch it out and was told they would call back Sunday and they never did. So we called back Monday and said we would hear back in the afternoon also never heard back. So called Tuesday guess what they told us they would call back and STILL never heard back. We understand that there is limited availability but it is RUDE not to call back.

This was the worst rental car I have ever rented. It barely made it up some of the roads on Maui. It was not even a simular make or model class to the vehicle we expected. Come to find out they dont actually even rent the vehicle we thought we were getting at this location. The staff did not even offer a better vehicle or discounted rate. In fact the lady who brought us the vehicle was annoyed I even questioned this. She simply asked do you want the vehicle or not. I do not recommend this Alamo location on Maui. Update since this review Alamo has offered to credit my account $115 for this issue. Maybe this was an isolated incident with just this location. Alamo does seem to care about there company image and customer service.

They have good selection but they will also charge you for a full day for having the vehicle for 3 hours. But then the guy who I returned the vehicle to did a little editing and saved me about $150. My man saved the day!
