I cannot even begin to fully convey how awesome this car rental company is! They sent me emails before my arrival letting me know they were tracking my flight, and sure enough they met us right outside of baggage claim and handed us the keys to the car. NO going to the rental car center and having to stand in an interminable line to fill out a bunch of paperwork. I signed everything on the spot and then was on my way. Inside the car, they left us a cooler with fresh fruit to get us started on our journey!The return was so easy. They texted us the day before our flight with detailed instructions on where to leave the car - you just park it in the public lot and text them the location, then you are on your way to the terminal.You have to read these emails and texts to understand just how endearing they are. Be ready for lots of loving messages about how much fun you’re going to have in Maui and lots of pictures of flowers and whales. It deserves a Pulitzer.This experience was so good, and felt so premier, that I triple checked my emails to make sure I had understood the rental rate appropriately. Hawaiian Rent A Car charges a fair price, and simply just cares about giving you great service. One of the true highlights of my trip. We left the team a bottle of champagne in the cooler when we returned the car because they were just THAT awesome.Vacation should not be stressful, and this is just the kind of white glove service that gets you off on the right foot and makes your Hawaiian adventure that much sweeter. I will never rent from another company in Maui, period.

If I could give this place 6/5 stars, I would. I was nervous about renting a car from a smaller company but it was a fantastic experience. Pick up and drop off were a breeze. I’ve had bad experiences before where you have to wait in a long line for pick up and have to shuttle from baggage claim to the rental car company. This place meets you at baggage claim with your car ready to go!! They also give you a small cooler and some fresh local fruit. Drop off was easy too! I’ll never rent with another company in Maui. Truly exceptional.

I had a wonderful experience with Hawaiian Rent a Car! It was such a breath of fresh air compared to the big companies! They picked me up at baggage claim, the car is already in the airport parking lot, they go over things with you there, hand you the keys and off you go. Inside the car was cold water, a tour book and fresh fruit in a cooler which you can use for the duration of your trip. The car was great too. Cleaner and nicer than I had had on the other islands with the big companies - pricing was better too. I had a question at one point and they got back to me right away, and were super friendly. I highly, highly recommend this company! I hope they will be around for many years to come!!

Best rental car company I have used in a long time! When you plan a trip to Hawaii, you don’t want to deal with the hassle/stress of picking up and dropping off the rental car around the airport (taking a shuttle etc.). You will waste a couple precious hours on the island cleaning up the car and dropping it off enough time ahead of your flight.With Hawaiian rent a car, we didn’t have to deal with any of that.At arrival, Ivan waited for us to give us the key to a brand new car (10k miles on it) and sign a couple rental paperwork. He also brought us a gift bag with goodies to enjoy during our trip (fruit/snacks etc). He also provided very useful information about local places to visit.On our last day, we dropped off the car at the airport parking lot and went on to take our flight. We were able to stay a couple more hours on the beach on that day as we knew we would be able to drop the car off in a matter of minutes. Ivan even told us we didn’t need to wash the car as it was included in the price!So yes, you might be paying slightly more than other bigger rental company, but trust me you would not regret it. I’m usually the type of person not willing to spend more $ on rental but this time I can say it was one of the best decision we made for our trip.We will definitely recommend them to all of our friends.

I have never been more sure of a reason to review. This whole experience was the best rental experience…maybe even the best service experience I’ve ever had. They had the instructions ready via text when I landed and even brought me to the car. I walked straight to my car and was on the road in 120 seconds. They gave me drop off instructions that were so obvious that I just ignored my maps and followed along (easily done). But the best part was the fresh fruit, cold waters, cooler, snorkel gear, and the attitude. Gave me details that were very essential for my trip (surf spots/ideas). I will never use another rental company in Hawaii. My cousin recommended me to them and I’m so glad, my other family members used competitors and had horribly frustrating times in line or dealing with drop off/pick up.

This company is amazing! I chose Hawaiian Rent A Car because their prices were good and their reviews were great. No regrets. I highly recommend this company and hope I can find a car rental place like them when I travel to other places. They made pick up and drop off incredibly easy. The cooler with water and fruit was a nice bonus. Car was clean and reliable. I really dont know how it could have been any better of an experience. Id give it more stars if I could.

Amazing service. They met me at the airport car was perfectly clean stocked with fresh fruit and yummy chocolate. They are very helpful! I needed a booster seat for my nephew and they had one for me immediately.

Treat yourself. These guys not only meet you at baggage claim, and for a little more money they will also greet you with a lei. They gave me some local maps and a cooler with water and fruit.Then when it was time to leave I was able to pull up to departing and hand them the keys. Too easy.

Awesome experience, highly recommended!We just rented from Hawaiian Rent a Car last week. The pick up process was super fast and easy: the rep (Evan) met us at the baggage claim, walked us 30 feet to our car, and we were on our way within about 3 minutes. Evan was super friendly and had great local knowledge to share. Same easy process for drop off.Vehicle was new, clean, and reliable. We ended up having a question about our car mid-way through our stay, and they were really easy to get a hold of and went above and beyond to help us sort everything out immediately. Really fantastic level of service.We will 100% be using Hawaiian Rent a Car again on our next trip to Maui, and definitely recommend checking them out!

Phenomenal service and great car. By far the best rental car experience I have ever had! Highly recommend them and would definitely rent from them again.

What a difference from the big box rental places! Highly recommend using these guys as they bring the car to you at the airport so theres no shuttles to take or lines to wait in. You pay and you go. The second driver added to the rental was free and they gave us great input on food and where to see turtles. We had a second couple with us on our trip who left 10 hours later than we did and they loaned them another vehicle so they could continue exploring the island until they flew home. Top notch service, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Wow, this is first class service at a huge discount! I was nervous going away from big name franchises but glad I took the chance! Ivan was super nice and met us at luggage carousel where we loaded up and drove away in our super clean Nissan! Also met us at drop off and helped get our flight seats upgraded since my wife sprained a knee on the trip and needed boarding help.. Cant say enough- Mahalo Hawaiian :)))

We just returned from a week long trip to Maui and rented a car from Hawaiian rent a car. This was easily the best car rental experience we’ve ever had. From the start of the process until the drop-off was completed they were extremely responsive to any questions we had (communication via text messages & email). The pick-up and drop-off could not be any easier, they meet you at baggage claim and walk you to your car where they hand you the keys. You simply drop-off the car at the airport parking lot and text them that you are done. The pricing was way better than anything else we could find, especially when compared to the “major” companies like Hertz, Enterprise, Thrifty, etc. Our vehicle was several years old but in excellent condition and extremely clean. The bonus is that you do not “scream” tourist as you drive around the island (well at least your car won’t). I would definitely recommend them and we are looking forward to the opportunity to use them again.
