Friendly reminder: donβt forget to bring your own lock. Actually, if you forget to bring one for locker, you just need to pay 8 dollar to buy a lock. Or you can pay 38 dollars for the semester to reserve a locker for you. That is really convenient and freshmen friendlyπππ I like this placeπͺπͺπͺ
Great space with amazing staff! They were very helpful and gave me a tour of the space with one of my friends who is interested in ASU and later another tour of a specific space that I will be using for a school activity.
Extremely crowded starting Fall 2021, and zero respect for Covid protocols by everyone(In the middle of the pandemic!).
Has everything I need - including a squat rack area upstairs. Very clean locker room.
Thank you, Sun Devil Fitness Center and ASU for providing an organized and professional medical experience while serving faculty, staff, and students with the two-step Covid-19 vaccination process. Thanks for taking care of us!
Fitness complex quite vast filled up with all the equipments. It also has a running track outside.
Best gym facilities
Excellent ping pong tables and swimming pool
Overall for being a gym serving the largest student body itβs a pretty good gym. Almost everything is always pretty clean, they have ample cardio and weight machines. The Weightlifting racks during busy times are usually full but most people donβt spend too long and thatβs to be expected. The layout is pretty interesting though, sometimes confusing.
I was there for a conference. Great space for holding large meetings and presentations. I also enjoyed the pool, and was delighted to find that towels were free. I did have a really rough time finding the front door...I walked all the way around the building 1.5x.
This place is just awesome! Lots of training machines, lots of basketball courts, lots of equipments that you can borrow (for both indoor and outdoor activities). Theres always good music playing throughout the area which sets a great atmosphere throughout the complex. Highly recommended to gym lovers. This place will never disappoint you!
All sports and fitness facilities. Swimming pool is also really good. Many events happening here on a daily basis. The staff is also really friendly and informative. They gave away free fitness juices and products like sunscreen, energy bar, laundry detergent, many coupons.
This should be called as the best fitness center of an Educational institute. They have all the top class facilities with all kind of the machines n weights. They have varied trainings n rooms specially designed.
Well equipped.. Workouts equipments are always kept in good shape.. Clean floors... Safe environment!
Great Gym! Quality equipment and an excellent place to workout. Theres so much equipment youd have a hard time choosing which to use first. Many thanks to Sun Devil Fitness Complex for helping me stay fit. Im definitely coming back for my next workout session.
The cleanest gym Ive ever seen! The options here are limitless. The pool was amazing!
Wide variety of equipments for cardio. Huge room for weights. Group fitness and Yoga classes are also provided. Many other sports such as tennis, racket ball, badminton and many more available. Great pool and pool side area. Perfect place to start fitness training.
Lots of equipment and nice indoor track. The womens restroom almost always looks as if its never been cleaned. The hot water usually doesnt work in the showers and last time I was in there at 6:30am there was a pile of foot shavings in the shower indicating that it definitely was not cleaned the night before.
Awesome place very well designed great parking. Nice EQUIPMENT
Great place to workout. Have free massage chairs. Have good group classes as well and entry,if youre not a student is also very reasonable.
Really nice facility with tons of equipment, basketball courts, squash courts, and space in general that even when it is crowded, its still a good place to workout at. However, pickup basketball can be frustrating as the wait times can be particularly long to get on the court. Despite this, there are always a couple open courts where people can casually shoot or place half court while they wait. Its definitely a downside that you have to bring your own lock or purchase a locker, unlike somewhere like Lifetime fitness where this amenity is provided.
A really nice place to workout. It has a running track, football nets, indoor games such as racquetball, chess, basketball court. The swimming pool is awesome. The staff is very supportive.
Great weight facilities, plenty of cardio equipment, indoor and outdoor running loops, and lots of court space. Their Japanese ju-jitsu class is excellent.
It has great equipment, awesome pool. Will lose many Kgs here.
Absolute dream for any sports lover.Along with Fitness and Gym areas this place is huge with multiple basketball soccer and other courts. The swimming pool is pretty nice too.Overall a world class facility for free to ASU students
Came here for an event it was great !!!! Great space and the outdoor area is awesome as well !
Huge and has a lot of choices. Gym and the courts are all top class
All under one roof! Gym, sports, you name it... Youll definitely have a good time here. Live well!
Great place to go workout if youre an ASU student. Be wary if youre driving though because youll have to pay for parking if it isnt the weekend or a holiday.
I love this multiple floor gym. Swimming pools, racket ball courts, free weight areas, controlled weighted areas, multiple basketball courts, indoor track, running areas, indoor soccer field and on top of that has a dining area. Also beautiful ASU Students!
Watching the ping pong players is always fun. Most are subpar, but occasionally there is this blond kid who plays. Hes amazing. Huge fan. Hope I meet him one day.
It is awesome place to go for workout and sports activity. Really well maintained by friendly staff. They have a lot of cardio machine, weight rooms, table tennis badminton basketball courts. Also there is a lovely swimming pool. There is a huge ground outside where you can play football baseball volleyball and criclet as well.
Great great place for a workout and for a host of other stuff. BUT they need to have more towels. The wait time to get a towel is just getting longer and longer. Its very annoying. SDFC needs to have better towel management. I could totally bring my own towel but when Ive paid for the service I expect that basic things will be in place. Other than that, awesome place to work out.
The huge ASU gym and sports building. Has great gym equipment... A lot of them. Has Fitness group classes and other sports classes, including Martial Arts. Perfect to have on Campus. Non-Students are able to get memberships too.
Pretty cool gym for a college campus. However, considering the size of the school and amount of students that attend, it seems a little small to me. Also, the security on campus, or at least in that area of the campus, seemed basically non-existent. Which is probably not a great thing considering I was there for a tournament with a lot of other people.
My everyday workout destination. Not at all crowded at 6am! Beat the heat and free street parking until 8am. Good collection of machines and weights.
Nice huge University gym. Often weights are not reracked though, and sometimes basketball court are all busy. Just a busy college gym. Great equipment though!
We went here on a tour of ASU so we did not use the facilities. They have everything you need and all services are included for students. Most impressive were the massage chairs.
The best place in tempe for a student to attain physical fitness πͺπ»
Honestly, almost too good. Only negative is if you are a person that is into big muscles, weight lifting equipment is heavily used in the afternoon. Plenty of new equipment. Towels are provided.
Well maintained, almost all the sports stuff available and the best part is indoor football ground. I would be happy if they make the football ground bigger than how it is now.
Its a Arizona State Universitys fitness complex. It has huge gym, swimming pool, badminton court, basketball court, Racquetball courts, Table tennis and many other games to play. One does not have to bring there sports equipments with them, SDFC provide it in free of cost to all this students by making entry in the store and one has to return it back after u r done with it. I love this place because it has everything that can make you fit. Thanks to ASU for there wonderful gift to its students.
Awesome place with all the sports and fitness facilities!
Good place to work out. Usually go to it while Im at school. Its a great place to relax too. Offers personal training and group classes.
ASU has no issue forcing you to purchase a parking pass that MUST include the summer months yet simultaneously disallowing you to use the SDFC during said summer months without an additional fee. Reconsider your policies from a standpoint on fairness and student health.
This may be the single greatest gym Ive ever been too. Its an extremely nice building with multiple levels. There are a multitude of machines, benches, free weights, small courts, small rooms, class rooms, basketball courts, cardio machines, and other fitness related items. Not to mention the nice indoor track at the top floor of the building. However, due to the massive traffic this gym gets, it is very hard to find an open weight lifting machine or bench despite the abundance of machines. But, either way, the SDFC is my favorite gym.
Very nice place to train. One star less because people keep dropping their weights which is quite hard on the eardrums. Concerns the SDFC as the staff apparently does not care
Wonderful facilities, very friendly people and terrific group training class!
Some of the equipment is a little worn out but overall the place is nice! the staff is great, they have indoor running track, they definitely need more equipment for deadlifting/squats after 4pm it gets really busy but most people are nice enough let you jump in tho.
Its always hot, even in winter, they dont clean the facilities very well, they overcharge non - students and there is nowhere to park that doesnt cost an arm and a leg. But on the up side, they did buy new chairs and benches for the hallways three times in the past two years... -_-
This gym is great! I particularly love how many free weights they have.
The fitness complex is awesome hands down, but as others have stated it is important to figure out the SDFCs quirks to really take advantage of it. I weight train, swim, take classes upstairs, and use the large Gold Gym for sports practice.Early evening hours get packed so avoid stopping in between 4-7pm for a workout if you dont like the crowd. The place is very quiet in the morning and weekend and I generally have a great time.Another reviewer was right about events often overriding smaller schedule activities, so you may walk in on exhibitions that are using your regular space (not to mention parking)--its a huge University and these things happen so I just do my best to work around them.As for the staff, remember that most of them are also students and they are not there to baby you. Even so, Ive never had a bad experience making requests to them. The whole place is kept clean and overall Im grateful that the SDFC is what it is.
A very impressive fitness center for the students and staff.
The place where I work. One of coolest places in ASU
Has lots of space and areas, only thing I can nitpick is the fact that basketball courts are always filled up pretty much
Awesome place for gyming..tons of equipment are available
Amazing fitness complex. Very well maintained.
Lots of machinery and this gym has everything you need. They even have a health clinic and massage therapy.
I use this location inbetween classes and havent been disappointed with how clean and functional all the equipment is. However, I wish the locker rooms were more taken care of. There were falling panels and flooded areas. Not to mention the foul odor that wafts from the shower stalls. Still will use this location, but wont use the locker rooms.
Great gym. Last time I saw this size a gym was at the World Campus of Nike in Beaverton, Or. That one has more variety but this one is probanly bigger.
Its way better than any other gym. Have every equipment and enough space
Front staff is awful, very inexperienced and dont know who a customer is, what they need, etc.you cant get a pool lane for a least 30 minutes after getting there, while the opposite end of the pool is unused. Get another life guard, it is not that hard of a thought process to manage a pool.there are too many tournament clogging the racket ball courts, so you can never get one to play.too many basketball tournaments so there is never a place just to shoot baskets.take one of the front desk clerks, train them as a lifeguard and open the other end of the pool.offer some kind of classes in the evening so people can actually attend them.make the place better, instead of the staff just standing around doing unproductive things.......give them an active role to help the clients.....not just robots that cannot answer a simple question.it is a multiple million dollar facility, run it like one!!!!!!!
Love to go here to work out.there are so many options and really enjoy swimming in the pool
Very good place to invest ur recreational time on.There are some sports activity which are still not established like tennis court otherwise very good place.
Very nice facilities, but Im not a huge fan of the weekend hours or the fact that half of the basketball courts are used by high school sports tournaments on many weekends.
A huge fitness facility with state of the art features with gym, swimming pool and basketball courts
Great place to swim the laps.
Friendly staff and a great facility. I do wish they had a free initial training to give you a rundown on proper use of excercies equipment.
This gym is huge and has a lot of great equipment. Also the staff and other gym goers are generally friendly. Main downside is that it gets way overcrowded in the evenings, which is why I usually go at 6 when they open.
Wow! What an awesome facility. Everything you need to stay in shape.
The SDFC is an absolute waste of your time. Its ALWAYS busy and theres not nearly enough equipment to go around for everybody. You are waiting in a line for at least five minutes before you can use anything. The gym is simply too small for such a huge student body at ASU. Unsurprisingly, fellow students treat the equipment like trash and as a result it has deteriorated rapidly. About half the men who workout here are 54 or shorter who CLEARLY take steroids and pretend to be natural. Height insecurity the obvious reason. Also the staff here are complete ass hats and do a poor job managing the complex. They should also work on their relations with patrons. Long story short, if you are lucky enough to find this place quiet (which you wont), youll have a terrible experience and workout. Ive come here for the last time. 0/5.
Fantastic place to play and work out
Best in class facilities, huge complex and nice place to make new friends!!
Although The facility is great and provides a lot of options, there is never a day when they have spare racquetball racquet. Sdfc is supposed to serve tens of thousands of students and alumni as well and they only have 6 raquets, which for the most part are occupied. Just for the facts, they have 7 racquetball courts, itβs reasonable To expect at least 14 racquets to be present. And the courts for the longest time are occupied with some or the other contest, all the time. Itβs fridtratinf especially for alumniβs that even after paying 35$ per month, the status of service is still poor.
Summer camp here is so fun
Facility has everything you would expect from a high end gym and more. All free to students and discounted to faculty.
Great facility and a lot of equipment for all levels and fitness styles. Only complaint is they need more stair masters.
The fitness complex is awesome. It has everything
Such a huge fitness centre I never seen in my life. Really great
If your looking to get swole then look no further. This gym has got it on lock. Gym rats? Yup. Racketball nerds? Yep. Tryin to get some swim and sun (with free uv rays)? Got it. But for real... This place has got like 10 full olympic sized power racks. Im like wut. If you cant get in shape here than theres very likely no other place on earth that will be good enough.
If you go in the morning its very less crowded and has all the equipment you can think of
Best place to play games and workout
This is literally the best gym on the planet
Has all the facilities for a complete recreational experience.
It is the best, it is the perfect place to be at if you are a fitness freak
Used to work out here all the time. Full gym with practically every machine/setup youll need
Only open till 23:00 !!! no electronic weight scale !! and the there are thousand paid lockers while only few free lockers !!
This fitness center has pretty much everything
Loved it...so many machines
Great place to be. Lots of choices for your work outs.
Place is intended to injure students. Facilities are dirty and poorly maintained. Machines are also poorly maintained. The major investment in athletic facilities was not reciprocated toward the general student body.
Awesome place at ASU to get a good intense workout
The classes sometimes are not correct with the schedule online, the locker room is always packed with trash and towels on the floor, the small gyms are always full with dust... It is a shame that the management just doesnt care... I complain a couple of times, but I guess they continue not to care
