The phenomenal views from the bikes and other cardio was one of the top reasons I joined this gym! Its the only gym Ive found in the PHX area with big views so I have something very pleasant to look at while Im exercising. Wish this gym had a sauna or steam room, though. I also go to the Talking Stick location sometimes but only when Im doing weights. No view whatsoever. Talking Stick has sauna and steam room, so I trade off going to both gyms.

I had called the day before to get specifics and was told when I came in the next morning at 6 a.m. I could pay and get signed up but when I went in they said I could not till 8 a.m. However your team at the front desk was very welcoming and I asked for a tour and the young lady who gave me that tour is a doll! Im excited to frequent your Tempe location and Chase Fields on the days I go into the office.

Cole did an exceptional job in signing me up for my membership at Mountainside. Painless and easy. Actually made it enjoyable. That doesnt happen these days. Hope you recognize him, he deserves it!

I love the assistant manager Briana. She really took the time to give me a tour of the facility. I am not gym equipment savvy so she even took a little extra time to explain some of the equipment and the areas they would strengthen. I appreciate the above and beyond system they have at this location!

I met with her again on 7 June to receive my pass and to close the paperwork to become a new member.I next, meet with my Fitness Manager to discuss my goals / objectives. Genuinely disappointed with the direction Mountainside Fitness is going. The equipment is fine but it is clear that overall the level of maintenance and cleanliness is falling. This is not exclusive to the Tempe location either. The Ahwatukee location’s sauna and steam room clearly haven’t been cleaned in months. Towels are out of stock during peak times for up to an hour in both locations. Tempe location’s steam room has been broken and acting up for weeks. Today all three toilets were clogged and there was one over flowing. It was like thisfor more than an hour. Why aren’t routine checks being done? I’ve been with Mountainside for years now and have always hyped you guys up. It’s really sad that I have to leave this review after trying to talk to staff multiple times. Looks like I’ll be finding a new gym soon.

I would avoid this establishment at all costs if I were you. I visited Marina Heights for a three week work trip earlier this year and purchased a one month membership from them. I cancelled verbally as I left, and was told I didnt need to do anything else. Later this year I noticed they had been charging me monthly fees for several months. I called their membership staff (Bradley) multiple times and was promised refunds that never came. I also emailed multiple times and finally gave up and filed a claim with my financial institution. This place has harassed me by phone and email ever since, telling me I need to cancel by registered mail to their unlisted corporate office.....This place is horrible and predatory, during this pandemic no less. I would highly recommend you take your business elsewhere based on my experience with them.

I thought of freezing my account for one month. I spoke to the agent she is literally shouting and said very rudely cannot freeze my account and disconnected my call. At least she can reply positively saying that is not possible. For freezing account, they don’t have email or phone to cancel, for that person has to go physically in this covid situations.

Perfect gym except they are not diligent about restocking towels in the locker room. Also they need to get some more weights downstairs.

Signed up for this gym a little over a month ago and so far, its been a pretty good experience! The gym is in a stunning location first off - you will definitely enjoy the beautiful view of Tempe Town Lake while working out. There is a parking garage attached for parking, great 2 story layout of the gym, plenty of machines and weights, towel service, beautiful bathrooms, and a smoothie cafe. The only cons I have are - this gym would be 5 star perfection if it had more classes (only cycling) and massage chairs. Also, the smell could be alot better! Especially on the lower level where the heavy lifting occurs. Ive had a membership at Vasa Fitness and Planet Fitness, and Ive never had an issue with smells until this gym. Mountainside Fitness is definitely the prettiest, but smells the worse.

My wife and I walked in for a free 5 day trial and noticed multiple people not wearing masks and the people that did have masks wore them conveniently around their chins and necks. Walked up stairs and no one had on masks. When we mentioned it to the people at the front desk, they did not seem concerned. Safe to say, we were disappointed and will not be joining.

Dont fall for their advertising. An absolute money rip off. Their contracts are so complex that I paid around 750$ for personal training which is worth 27 sessions and couldnt attend for almost 8 months due to covid closures. I thought I could use them later but it seems all those sessions expired and I cant use them. Is COVID my fault or being afraid of COVID and staying home when people were dying a stupid decision. I wish I had a chance to fight this.

It was my first time back in a gym and this one in particular. I have to say give a shout out to Ron and Luke who helped me become a member more like family from here on out. I love mountainside. Love it as an establishment. The associates at this location have to be the worst I’ve ever had to experience. Expect to be double charged, promised compensations you will never receive and the minute you even express minimal distaste for how you are treated you’ll never be greeted by the associates again and the managers will follow your around while you workout making your time there miserable until you inevitably cancel.

Its a great gym thats clean and well maintained

THERE IS NO SOCIAL DISTANCING HAPPENING!! They use to make appointments mandatory, however that is not happening anymore. They are letting everyone and their mothers in. I went around 5pm (im presuming busiest time during weekday) and it was crawling with people, I immediately left. Please do not support this gym. They were out of cleaning wipes I’ve noticed; they do not care about keeping people safe during the pandemic. AZ has the worst cases in the literal world right now and this is why.

Masks are supposed to be worn outside of group fitness classes and the cardio area. This was not being enforced. Members were also not wiping down equipment after use. The staff was great but it didn’t feel super safe in a covid environment.

I really enjoy working out here. Everyone seems to come here for one purpose and thats to workout. I like that you dont see alot of people on cell phones or just hanging around. The equipment is very nice and gym is very clean. Colton is always so welcoming.

This place does anything possible to steal your money. They are unwilling to help and are anything from accommodating. Go to EOS where the membership is $10/month, has a cleaner/bigger gym, and doesn’t hassle you with hidden fees and predatory contracts.this place sucks & I don’t even write Google Reviews but y’all made me sad.goodbyE

A decent location, but they give you the hard sell of training with a personal trainer, followed by a bait-and-switch of switching up your personal trainer. They then give you a limited window in which to use your training sessions, after which they expire, and the only way you can get them back is to buy 3 months of even more sessions. I would avoid this gym.

By far the worst Mountainside location I’ve been to. The front desk attendant Colton was extremely rude, unfriendly and not helpful at all. Highly do not recommend this location as their staff do not make you feel welcome in the slightest. Might even cancel my membership after that encounter. Wow.

I have been going to this gym for years and tried to cancel after I moved to another state. This process was not simple and the staff were not at all helpful. During COVID-19 this establishment requires you to either come in person to cancel, or send a letter, as opposed to offering safer digital options. As a company that promotes health and wellness, I think this looks very bad. They made it extremely difficult to cancel and have no regard for customer loyalty.

This is an excellent business center--a great place to work, with convenient parking, great amenities (with more coming as its completed), incredible views, and amazing security staff.Non-State Farm employees: paid parking is available for events at ASU (Marina Heights is actually on-campus, and is right across the street from the stadium).Theres a Starbucks and a cafeteria (Cafe 450) on-site, with another restaurant due to open soon. There will also be a gym and an urgent care center when the facilitys fully finished.

The entire staff was awesome.

Always clean and always professional... Plus the view of the water and bike checkout.

I wouldnt recommend it. I sign up for this gym because the guy told me you can pay month per month. I told him thats what I nd because Im leaving the States soon I dont nd to sign up for 3 or 6 months even though I paid more for one month cause you dont get an offer for one month. The guy works there told me we dont renew your membership automatically you would have to come so we can charge you. I said perfect. 2 weeks after signing up they closed because of the virus. I tried to call them to make sure not to charge me for the next month but no one answered. I called them this morning to cancel my membership and the first thing they did was charging me 70$. My call was like a reminder for them to charge me instead of cancelling it. Definitely not recommend it. I called again to sort it out. Manager Nawal wont answer my calls I keep getting the answering machine. Now Im waiting for my bank to open to see what they can do. I dont nd this in my life. Also you cant cancel your membership on phone you nd to go all the way to the gym to cancel but if youre new client you dont have to come to get a membership. Double standard. Stay away from this gym....I just did. I called the number and you didnt resolve the issue. The only thing you told me is if you wanna cancel the membership you have to do it in person not over the phone which I get. but you didnt say you will reimburse me the 70$ you took this morning. If I dont get my money back. I promise I will make sure that non of my friends renew their memberships for next month. I called to cancel my membership this morning and instead you renew it forcefully.

Pretty bad. Looks nice when you take the tour but once I joined I started noticing all the details. They never have any disinfectant wipes despite having multiple (empty) dispensers. So, machines are quite dirty and dripping with other peoples sweat. If you look at the windows they are also filthy, with stuff (Im assuming sweat) splattered, dripping, and dried on the inside (outside is dirty too but I dont really care about that). Is always quite hot inside the gym and i think they use fragrance to cover up the smell in the gym. I pay an annual fee for maintenance and cleaning but its clear its not used for that!

This Mt Side took good care of me! I had a rough experience (at first) with this gym. The gym is very clean with new equipment, but I kept getting charged for personal training even after my membership was canceled. It took a few phone calls but they ended up just refunding the charges, which obviously made me very happy. Most gyms don’t do that. Once I move back into town, I will definitely be going back to Mt Side!

Fraudulent like behavior from Mountain Side. Incorrectly charged for membership fees and was sent on a goose chase for 3 weeks trying to fix it - never was resolved. Getting a hold of anybody is a nightmare.

Great view, clean, has bikes and classes, weights are usually racked, they have always clean dry towels to work out it is a nice gymbut, it is too hot (Air conditioner is not low enough) also the big window with the view to the lake lets all the heat in, and if you are there too early fans arent even on. I guess they save money that way but even if 5 of us are working out at 6am this is Arizona. and we are exercising we need more air.o yes a bit expensive too.but over all is a good gym.

The front desk people are nice and truly want to help you out with any questions you might have. I took the HIIT class there while on a free guest pass, and the teacher was great at keeping everyone motivated and pumped. I know I definitely got a good sweat on for that class.I did not sign up for this gym however due to it being a bit on what feels to be on the pricier end and the studio for classes and the gym itself just seems a bit small.

Convenient location but the microfiber towels are terrible. I regularly go to 4 locations and this is the only one that uses them for some reason. So frustrating

One of the smaller locations but it makes up for that with a great view of Tempe town lake. The front desk staff are friendly and on the corporate side they will look into problems you bring up. They have been getting in new machines and equipment, it is rare to see something broken for long. It gets busy during peak hours about 5-8pm but other than that you don’t notice the size. I started going here because it was close to my home and had a nice view but stayed for the friendly service and other members

Very modern and well designed facility. This welcome work environment has great landscaping and good views of the city. The food in the cafe is of good quality and more features are being added. Definitely recommend swinging by, even if you are not a State Farm Employee.

This is by far the best gym I’ve worked out at and one of my favorite locations. Some might not like the two- story set up but I find it more convenient so all of my cardio equipment is on one floor and all of the weights are on another. It makes it easier to find stuff while working out and transitioning quicker during a super-set. The staff here is super helpful and friendly, there is always available equipment that is CLEAN and in perfect shape! So thankful to be a part of the MSF family and I would highly recommend this gym to all my friends :)

This is a very clean and organized facility. The staff is always on time, and thats a big one for me as I am one of the early birds at 4:30am.As well, they are also friendly, and ready to assist. The equipment is always well maintained, as well as clean and in place. Great gym.

Came to Mountainside Fitness from the LA Fitness on Mill and Southern as soon as my 3 year pre-paid was up because its a more convenient location for me. Mountainside is so much nicer, even after LAFs recent renovation. The equipment is newer, the layout is really well thought out, towel service is a plus, and the location on the lake is amazing for being able to do outside cardio and even just for nice views while in the gym. They provide free bikes if you want to do outdoor biking.

Marina Heights is State Farms magnificent business complex. Its a beautiful spot to walk through while your are hanging out at the lake. Stop by for a cup of coffee at Starbucks, or have lunch at Matts Big Breakfast, its delicious.

This review is for the actual gym. Its alright. Its clean but its something about the atmosphere and this goes for most locations of mountain side fitness, Im not sure if its the grey walls with the red decor or what but its just a stale atmosphere. Only select employees say bye when your leaving. The good: bumper plates :-) major negative if you are at the gym more than 2 hrs you pay for parking (I know who is there longer than 2 hours? I was the other day) lol

The gym is small and easy to navigate. Seems fairly clean and the staff are friendly.My only pain point is it is a new gym and they cant seem to figure out the group fitness schedule. I got the membership primarily for group classes, and there seem to be changes every few weeks.This has made it challenging to get into a routine. I do understand there needs to be ROI for having an instructor come, but its frustrating as a member to have the schedule constantly change.

Love working out here! All the staff are super friendly, the gym is always clean and the group fitness classes are amazing! The gorgeous views dont hurt the workout either! The background music is a good variety and isnt playing too loud. They also have TVs on the gym floor and cardio machines which are great, Ive even hooked up my Netflix to watch my shows while on the treadmill. Absolutely love mountainside fitness, cant say enough good things! Dont forget to grab your protein shake after your workout.

Solid place, but have to give it 3 stars. The people that work out here do NOT put back their weights properly, and the place is normally busy to packed. Staff and equipment were good though.

There’s always hidden fees that they surprisingly charge you and say that it was on the contract and you signed it. I have never had a complicated contract like this before.For the personal trainer I’ve never got the service I paid for. I had lost a school day because of neck pain due to bad advice from my trainer.The staff are very polite and the place is very clean.

This is an amazing place to work ! theres not a day I dread getting out of bed to come to this awesome place I can say is my job!!!

I love mountainside, but this one is really small! Has a majority of what youre looking for, but no tvs on a majority of their treadmills unlike the other mountainsides Im used to, and no room for wall balls in the CoreFit area. But besides that, the gym is modern and clean, beautiful views of the lake, great equipment (especially the iFit incorporation on some treadmills) and steam room in the locker rooms is great too.

The gym is small compared to most Mountainsides. It is 2 stories and parking is kind of confusing the first time. They do not validate parking but the first 2 hours are free. You cannot currently book classes through the app but according to the staff their classes never get full enough to need to reserve a space.
