The Blake apartments in Savannah, GA are managed by some pretty terrific people. Every experience we have had with them; questions about rent, the lease, maintenance, general processes and procedures has been A++, outstanding! I would like to personally thank Blake, Addison and Steve for all your help and quick support recently. You folks always go above and beyond to help us, and for that I am extremely grateful. Thank you all so much!
The Blake is a safe place to live in the heart of downtown Savannah, the staff are friendly and hard working. The front office can be short staffed meaning small issues may not get taken care of right away but that’s simply the way life works. Blake Kangeter and all her staff are dedicated to helping others live in a safe, friendly housing environment conducive for SCAD students. The apartments are spacious, clean, and all have beautiful views of downtown Savannah. I have lived here for over two years and have been very happy with my experience here as a resident.
For anyone considering to move in to the Blake, DO NOT. All of the current residents were charged over $1,000 for unethical and fraudulent “cleaning fees”. I should also note that the charges were racially motivated because the residents of color/international students were charged a significantly higher amount. The Blake recently went bankrupt and a new company just bought them therefore they are charging every single resident to “fix” this building up and pay off debts. I know this because their own employees informed many of the residents about this. It is also worth acknowledging that this building is violating multiple health codes. The management themselves are rude, unprofessional, and dishonorable. It baffles me that this fraudulent and unsafe business is able to continue renting to innocent residents.(Can’t wait for the management to start harassing me after this is posted)
The Blake Apartments are ideal for student living. The complex provides a feeling of security and is within walking distance to anything you may need or desire to visit in downtown Savannah! Each bedroom has a walk in bathroom and closet, so there is a sense of privacy. The living space and kitchen are modern and any student would be lucky to be able to experience such a level of utilities at a collage level. The lease price is of good value not only with what was stated above, but in addition to all the amenities the complex provides. The roof top terrace has wonderful views, the grill deck is awesome for socializing, the pool and gym are available to get a break from studies!! However, when it comes to studying, each floor has a common area for a change in environment while doing work, there is even a larger studio with coffee machines which is a cool place to collaborate with other students! Furthermore, management are always available to address any concerns you may have. Any one you engage with in the leasing office will always be smiling, they are all so friendly. As a result I’m happy to say that The Blake Apartments are my home away from home. Highly recommend.
Would not recommend The Blake. They will not clean before you move in and there were numerous issues with my apartment throughout my living there. Was constantly overcharged for utilities. And there were mold and pest issues as well.
Do not trust the “good” reviews. They’re all fake and asked to be made by the management. This apartment complex is terrible and the living conditions are absolutely disgusting.
I would not recommend anyone lease with the Blake. Not only were there many hidden costs involved in the lease and unessecary charges added on, the management and staff were unprofessional and never available.I felt that my safety and condition of living was at risk due to the unavailability of any and all management and the lack of knowledge those that did live there possessed.
I am happy and grateful to choose The Blake apartments as my home! :) I think its the perfect location to live. Its in the downtown, very safe and the amenities are great. The staff is super lovely and friendly, they are more like friends before being the management staff. They have helped me so many times after-hours and I am glad that I am spending my last few months at SCAD living at The Blake
I can’t believe I went through this for so long. The worst building to rent from in Savannah. Please don’t fall for this false advertisement.
This place is in a great location right next to Savannah Station. We were looking in Savannah for places to live while looking for a home. The majority of the tenants are students but you do not have to be a student to sign with them. We ended up finding a home before we signed a lease but the staff met our needs with every phone call. I would recommend based on the staff alone. I believe we spoke with Blake....at the Blake which was funny but she was very nice and informative. I’d give 5 stars if the prices were a little cheaper.
Blake is at a perfect location, very easy to get around with public transportation and walking distance to SCAD buildings. The apartment is beautiful and equipped with everything I needed. The entire staff always greet you with a smile and are very helpful to our needs, and are quick to attend to any problems that arise. Blake particularly (one of the staff members) is super sweet and made my move-in process super easy.
We’ve had a great experience dealing with the Blake! My daughter had to find a place to reside while in another state within a matter of a couple of weeks upon her decision to go back to scad for the spring. We contacted the Blake and they were nothing but responsive, courteous, and accommodating! Madison provided great customer service!
This place is a complete fraud. I can’t believe they were able to fool so many people into paying thousands of “cleaning fees”. This place needs to be shut down. My parents are already taking legal action against them.
The Blake has a great location in downtown Savannah, GA - walking distance from my favorite coffee shops & restaurants! The amenities are awesome and clean. Perfect place to live for SCAD students
The office staff are very helpful. Thank you for answering my questions yesterday.
Lived here for three years and I had great management and experiences. The apartments are ok, amenities are cool and clean, overall management and service requests are good. I was one of the first residents and I can say that the experience was good, of course the Blake has improved a lot. It used to have resident games and competitions, the Pool is awesome, we had free coffee and free hot chocolate. It was a safe area also and everywhere they had security cameras. Can’t complain but it definitely has its downs.
Ive been living at the blake for a few months now as a freshmen during covid. They are awesome and very responsive when it comes to service requests and questions regarding your unit. The blake is also in a great location and feels very safe. The apartments have a great layout and are a great place to call a home away from home!
Staff is very friendly and they respond very quick to work orders
A great step up from dorm life! Due to COVID we we were on a tight time frame to help our daughter choose living accommodations. Kimberly C was absolutely wonderful to work with. She took the time to answer all our many questions, working quickly to get everything taken care of for our daughter. The move in process was so smooth and and we know our daughter should be in a safe place.
Im a junior SCAD student, and during the global pandemic (COVID 19), international SCAD students were forced to leave Savannah due to the universitys closing. My roommates and I had renewed the lease contract driven by a series of promises, Blakes management made us if we renew the contract before the expiration date. Being international students, without close family in Savannah, we wanted to ensure our stay in the place, so we renewed it earlier than stipulated. When the university and the state send the notification to international students that the classes were to be offered remotely and the physical facilities of the campus were to remain closed, we requested the administration of Blake in June 2020, the cancellation of the 2021 contract because we had to return to our countries. The Blake administration responded that they knew what was happening but did not offer us a viable way out to cancel the contract or any kind of help that would offer us relief to return to our countries with peace of mind. Right now, we are in our countries and paying rent for a place we are not living in, and we cannot return due to the restrictions imposed in our countries due to the pandemic crisis.I do not recommend the place for the administrations horrible treatment and how they trick students. First, they are flexible and open to helping their tenants, but when it comes down to it, they are interested only in money. I do not recommend this place, terrible service for the super high price one has to pay monthly.
Run away from this establishment. They are taking advantage of students here big time. This is not a normal apartment with decent staff. They are here to financially take advantage of the students in every possible way. This place and the management has terrible reputation and there is a reason for it. Here are some pictures from the nasty stairway they never ever clean. And this is just tip of the iceberg and it was a nightmare living there during a pandemic.
You will never get your deposit from them after moving out, even though you clean up your room perfectly.
I found 4 eater eggs and got free food for easter
I lived here throughout my time at Savannah State. The staff is entirely unprofessional. I’ve lost plenty of packages and items at this residence & the management/ staff lied about protocol being done to retrieve them. They do NOT clean the rooms in between move ins or follow the amenities advertised on their website. Overall not worth your money & impossible to get out of the lease even after they don’t follow through with their part of the agreement.
Management leeches off students, absurd fines are charged for absurd things whereas all the amenities are in terrible condition. Definitely not renewing the lease.
I wish I could give The Blake 10 STARS! This place is the greatest place to be in Savannah. The atmosphere is awesome, the staff is great, the apartments are nice and modern. I dont think, as a college student, you can get any better than this. They have resident events and pool parties, which is awesome! I would recommend this place to anyone! Just go by and talk with the office staff, and I promise, youll fall in love just like I did. Go check out The BLAKE!
The property manager Jeremy was phenomenal! He was able to answer all of my questions and concerns about the Blake! Definitely recommend checking this place out if your looking for a nice place in Savannah. A+ service!!
Blake at The Blake Apartments was so friendly and patient while answering any questions I had about the leasing process
Great place for college students, especially just coming out of the dorms. You get that community feel of living in a dorm, but with much more privacy and much nicer quality. I loved having my own bedroom and bathroom. Location is ideal for SCAD students. Staff is very helpful and friendly! Would definitely recommend.
I wish I could give The Blake 10 STARS! This place is the greatest place to be in Savannah. The atmosphere is awesome, the staff is great, the apartments are nice and modern. I dont think, as a college student, you can get any better than this. They have resident events and pool parties, which is awesome! I didnt know a single person when I moved here, and with all the events that they offered, that quickly changed. I would recommend this place to anyone! Just go by and talk with the office staff, and I promise, youll fall in love just like I did. Go check out The BLAKE!
The Blake has been a great place for my son to live. He is close to everything and loves having a room to himself. The staff have been particularly helpful recently. While home from summer quarter, they happily mailed him something he had forgotten in his room. He plans to stay here until graduation!
The staff there are rude, lazy, and unreliable. Their service are horrible. They are not professional at the problem they have. They even watch the video at work. They have some damaged stuff in the room, they don’t finish the job of cleaning the room before a resident moving in. This apartment don’t deserve a thousand rent fee. Hope you make decision of living there discreetly. By the way, one of staff make a comment here, and she probably is listed below me. Hope you would not be stupid like me.
The Blake is a wonderful place to live. I love all the amenities that come along with living there, and not to mention they are pet friendly! The staff here are amazingly kind people.I would highly recommend The Blake to anyone. 5 stars!
The Blake is awesome! The building and apartments are gorgeous! Its hard to believe it is student-housing. There are so many thoughtful amenities like covered parking and indoor bike storage...hard to find in downtown Savannah. The staff is amazing and Jackie, the manager, is wonderful.
The Blake is super convenient for SCAD students, just s short walk to the bus stops. They are pet friendly, so bring your furry friends. The Blake is secured with controlled access. The management is super nice and do everything possible to make sure residents are happy.
The Blake has been an awesome experience for me! The staff was super eager to help me with anything I needed and I love how close it is to downtown and SCAD! I always recommend this place to any of my friends looking for a nice apartment!
Review Update: So while I did have a lot of issues in the beginning I need to give props where props are due. Towards the end of my stay it was actually really pleasant. The move out was much easier than I expected and all the problems I had were addressed. Overall, I think now that all the kinks in the building have been worked out Im positive that it will be a nice place to live for future residences! If I need a place to stay in the future Ill definitely consider the Blake again if they have an opening.
The staff at the Blake was incredibly helpful in finding the replacement for my daughter’s room. Both the staff and manager in the leasing office are very friendly and easy to work with. I am extremely impressed by their professionalism and willingness to go extra mile in addressing my special needs. I highly recommend the Blake to anyone looking for the first-class customer services in addition to the excellent amenities for their luxury apartments.
The Blake & their office team is great! The new Manager has been awesome! Any of my concerns have been taken care of so fast. I would tell everyone I know to live here. Thanks, Blake Team for being great at what you do.
Current resident here.. the staff cares very much about keeping residents happy and building a positive community. Building is also very clean and has wonderful amenities. The rent here is the best bang for the buck in downtown Savannah.
The apartment and amenities are generally okay. The floors seem to be pretty thin, because you can hear every movement from the hallways and units on the floor above. Community assistants here at the Blake are phenomenal, but the old and new management seemed generally unresponsive, ignored several of our concerns, and were hard to work with. There arent as many community events as expected, and they arent that well advertised when they did happen. There have been a surprising number of issues with our apartment since moving in, considering this apartment was brand new. Its very clear that the construction of these apartments was rushed. Since being here, our dishwasher has leaked, our air conditioner has leaked, our water pressure has been extremely inconsistent, and one of our toilets constantly runs. Some of these issues have been fixed, but in the case of the water pressure, we were told it was good enough after maintenance made the issue even worse. Weve been without an air filter nearly two months, and every time our concern has been brought up to maintenance, weve been told that they would bring a new one in a day or two.We received mail box keys several months after move in, and one of our roommates didnt receive one at all. It took four months for them to receive a mailbox key after several requests, which led to a lot of personal inconveniences and a very evident lack of care about our issues from management. The apartments are pretty expensive, and there are cheaper options around the city. However, this price seems fairly consistent with student living throughout the city. The furniture and amenities are included with the rent. However, it cant be denied that the Blake is an extremely convenient location. All in all, the Blake is okay, but Ill be moving out in August in order to save several hundred dollars each month at place that is much nicer and takes my concerns more seriously.
Had heard a lot of good things about The Blake from my friends, and decided to take a tour. I was very pleased with the enthusiasm of the staff and the personalized feel of the tour. From what I had seen and heard I thought The Blake might be what Im looking for, it looks like my friends were right!
I love living at The Blake! The views as well as the location is something that really spoke to me when applying to live at the Blake. What really makes me feel at home is the feeling of community that the management team brings when you walk into the lobby.Dont get me wrong it does seem expensive when you first look at living at the Blake, but when you look at everything that you get with the Blake it becomes worth the price.
Amazing Staff! You get your own bedroom, closet and bathroom! The apartments come fully furnished! Great location and walking distance to SCAD.
Honestly, The Blake staff has been nothing but helpful! During this entire process from signing my lease to moving in they have helped me out every step of the way. Yeah, we had to live in a hotel for a bit, but once we got into the building everything was fine. Ive lived here for awhile now and I have had zero problems with the place! Much love to The Blake Staff!
This place doesn’t even deserve one star. We pay over $1100 in monthly rent for N O T H I N G! the staff is LAZY, RUDE, AND UNRELIABLE! I have never in my whole life met a group of people who ALWAYS put the blame on the residents and NEVER themselves except for a few people. The managers are dang sickening especially the assistant manager! She always tell you that she will call back and NEVER does. You have to call everyday just in hopes to get in touch with her. There was one time when I was entering the office to ask them something and I seen her and another employee run in the back as if they did not want to deal with me! Like where and who does that?!?!?! Goes to show how they don’t want to work but want your money! You can tell that they do not train their employees like they should! Poor things take the blame and anger of residents and parents just because management are not on the same page. Maintenance takes forever to come and fix things or don’t come at all. Don’t let them fool you; they stay saying they came when they never do. They’re nothing but a scam. Both of their properties are suppose to be “luxury” and there is nothing luxury about it. PARENTS AND KIDS BEWARE! DO NOT LIVE HERE! When you see this property and The Avenues on 61st (now The Betty), RUN! and do NOT let their fake nice attitudes and fake smiles fool you. They care NOTHING about us/your child! All they care about is adding charges to your child’s account and robbing you out of more money.
Overall great place. Rooms are nice and very spacious. Definitely considering living here! Plus theres free Starbucks coffee!
I moved into the Blake when they first opened because I transferred to SCAD. Didnt really know much about the Savannah area and I saw that they were student housing. When I finally did move in to the so called Brand new Luxury Student Living, The floors had scratches and paint, walls had marks and holes, cabinet busted on corner, fans had nasty dust, screen door broken, granite counter tops werent sealed and my door to my room didnt lock. I immediately made a request to have them fix everything. Cause I am paying $1000 a month for a 3 bedroom, so it better be nice. It took them a while to get back which I understood with everyone moving in. Finally they came to check. The guy walked in looked at everything, and that was it. I told him my real concern is my door lock. I had two random roommates and since I didnt know them I didnt like not being able to lock my things up. He said he would replace it immediately....well that didnt happen for 3 months. I called almost every week asking about my door, sent emails, went downstairs and asked. Nothing, until I got my parents involved. All the other problems I had, they just left alone. That wasnt the only problem I had with the Blake. Rarely ever picked up the trash and when they did, never on time. The say between 6pm-8pm and it would still be there in the morning. Probably why the place smelled horrible. The building is only a year old now and it is falling a part. Nails popping out of the walls, wall paint splitting and cracking, mold in the lights on the ceiling which came into out cabinet above our microwave. One of the smoke detectors randomly started to have water leak out of it. And when we called the security guard, he said no ones on duty so they will take care of it in the morning. Apparently fire hazards are that big of a deal to them. Not to mention, its suppose to be tobacco free... so many people smoked. Went to the pool once, a girl who worked in the office was there and a guy was smoking weed and cigarettes... of course she did nothing. I brought all these issues up to the manager and people who worked in the front and nothing was done. Even tried to call corporate and no one would answer or return my calls. Oh but they did call me a month after i moved out to tell me I owe them $138 in electricity overages. Which to my understanding when I signed the lease the Blake pays $25 per person and then we pay the overages. Fine, thats fair, but when you ask to see these overages they dont give it to you. For a 3 bedroom thats $75, our place wasnt that big and we were very conservative so i dont get how we went over it. I live in a house now in the historic district and for 3 people its $120 for electricity. Its an very old house and the Blake is a brand new apartment complex with nice insulation. So I said Id pay when I see what Im charged for. They were so rude to me, said they give it to me, then said they cant, said thats not how they do things and bill. After almost 3 months of going back and forth, they call me and say here in the lease it says they dont have to provide it. One, i have never read that in my lease so they must be changing it without my consent and two she waited 3 months to tell me that. So basically no one actually knows what they are being charged for when it comes to the electricity. You would think that if they arent scamming me they would have very easily showed me the bill. All in all, I will NEVER recommend and/or use this company again. They are scammers and treat people with such disrespect.
Apartments finally ready... Move In Day started off poorly..when we arrived we were unable to use the elevators (5th floor 😬) However... Josh to the rescue..he was polite, professional & apologetic...Josh stepped up! My daughter is safe and Im happy....thank you Josh
I just found out that the Blake is taking over the avenues and was pissed when I heard all of our great staff has been fired. Thats just not cool. Hire them back!
I really love living here, I have a cat so finding a decent apartment in Savannah was really difficult until I found the Blake. the delay wasnt fun but its over and obviously never going to happen again. its fully furnished which was good bc my parents didnt want to buy furniture for me to just move after graduation, its located near the illustration building so I can just walk to class and they have really nice people who run events that always have free food. I love free food
The apartments are great and spacious. The floor plan is nicely set up. Its a convenient spot in savannah too
STAYED IN A HOTEL PRIOR TO MOVE IN DID NOT MOVE IN UNTIL OCTOBER SIGNED LEASE IN AUGUST!!!. Entirely too expensive to live for a college student. 919 for each person in a four bedroom?! CRAZY. IF YOU REPLACE YOUR FOG IT IS 110 dollars, RIDICULOUS. Greystar will try everything in their power to get your money. Trash valet was terrible, security was terrible. Garage parking was terrible. I told the landlord there were ants and water bug in my room, they never showed up. If you getting roommates make sure they are people that u know, because if not they will pick on you and talk about you, or maybe even take your food without your permission! Savannah is very boring and lame, I will never go back to this city again!!! Scad kids are very spoiled and rude. This apartment was very ridiculous and I am so happy I do not have to deal with it anymore!!!!
SET UP SOMEONE TO ANSWER YOUR PHONES DURING OFFICE HOURS. I called on different days all during office hours and receive user is busy notification. How is it even possible you guys have this many tenants and and no hold system or que. FIX YOUR SH!iT
Great place to live. Looking to possibly live here in the near future. Would definitely recommend.
My friend lives here and loves it! super nice apartments close to campus and everything else in savannah!
Very nice gentleman named Sriram lives there.
Worst student living ever, bad communication, and bad service
Awesome staff and amazing location! I love it here!
I love the people here - the community assistants and managers are really wonderful and do their absolute best to be as helpful as possible. Personally, Ive had some issues with the actual apartment. Its obvious it was finished really quickly. Paint and granite counters are not sealed, walls are curved and paint on the ceiling bubbles. Its a really great set up - every bedroom has its own bathroom and the common areas and amenities are really nice and fairly spacious. However, for the price I was hoping for a little more quality. Location is good for drivers and walking to Broughton - walking back and forth to classes/bus stops is a little iffy as there are minimal sidewalks leading up to the Blake. My bedroom has great views over the rail museum and to the Talmadge Bridge, and there are lots of churches and an elementary school around us. Really close to Creative Approach, Rancho Allegre, The Chromatic Dragon, and some other neat places.Like I said earlier, my only real issue with the Blake is the quality for the price Im paying.
DO NOT ALLOW YOUR CHILD TO MOVE IN HERE. Despite being promised a move in by the start of school, kids were shuffled around from hotel to hotel for three months. They gave the students some money but nothing can compensate you for taking away your stable place to live - it was a HUGE disruption to students. After they expected so much of these students and families, one would think they would offer some flexibility to the students or at least be willing to hear and address their concerns. Not so. When I had a concern about an exorbitant late fee of $95 dollars for twelve days late on the rent, the property manager avoided my calls for weeks. My son had mistakenly thought that he had paid the rent when the company asked him to sign other forms. After I finally got ahold of her, Jackie was unwilling to show any flexibility or take responsibility for the craziness they put students through responding only it was in the contract. Parents, if you want a company thats going to jerk your kids around and then gauge you/them for money, sign up for the Blake!
Great living facility for students/ young adults
Amazing staff and really nice rooms and amenities!
This place has some nice rooms with bathrooms
Excellent staff totally cool peeps!!
Love living here, staying for another year
It was great! Really spacious!
I would give it less then one star if I could. Really over priced, poor location and endless fees. Just live anywhere else if you can. Also the staff is all over the place.
This is the worst company ever to deal with .They were almost 60 days late to open still made us pay the lease and then takes nor responsibility for any thing that went wrong .Please Think twice before signing a lease you may want to have a lawyer look it over the devil is in the details .Do not give this place your money period you will be locked down for 1 year and have no support .Cant get the big boss on the phone he hides behind a team of women he puts on the front line to take all the crap
Trash employee, Squalid living conditions
There is a guy who didnt play witcher here
Really overpriced!! Maintenance is almost non existent!!
Its fabulous
Love the location!
This apartment is dank
Nice
