The staff are absolutely fantastic, and deserve 5 stars. But the transition to mobile Clipper cards is so painfully unintuitive and full of faults that I spent the entire ferry ride from Tiburon to SF standing over the onboard clipper stand, struggling to just pay for the ride.

Very easy service over to Sausalito. The ferry was on time for departure and arrival. The ferry staff were all very friendly and loved a joke.I would use this service again.Note, make sure you buy your return ticket before you leave San Francisco dock as the Sausalito dock gets very busy and you risk missing your ferry.

Be here super early during tourist season! The lines can get pretty long to go back to the mainland. Its a very enjoyable experience riding on the water taxi with views of Alcatraz and the bay. Get a Clipper card when you book your travel here and save time and money as well as move like a local. Youre welcome! Have a great trip and get a snack at the ferry building.

I dont like the boats

You catch it at the Ferry Building on the wharf. Be careful, the signage is horrible.Very nice views of San Francisco, Sausalito, Angel island and Alcatraz.Very smooth ride which takes about 30 minutes.Discounts for seniors but no discount for round trip.

Once you figure it out the trip was fast and on time. I recommend using your Clipper Card if you have one for best fare. The trip to Sausalito was not crowded at mid morning and we got great outside seats on top deck but the return leg was jammed like sardines and less pleasant. Overall a good alternative to driving and all that hassle of tolls and parking.

Great little ride across town.

Great place to go and grab some food while waiting for ferry. Also good to stop and grab some cheese or bread or olive oil before heading home on the ferry. Enjoyed my time here.

My experience taking the ferry from Sausalito to the Embarcadero was less than satisfactory, in fact, for a company it was disgraceful. Upon lining up for the ferry, a staff member yelled to my foreign friend who does not understand English well, to line up next to a man in front of us. This would separate the two of us, which is no issue, except for the fact my friend felt it better to stay together. The staff member would not allow this, after moving his way through the line of pedestrians to shout at my friend to move forward. The apparent goal of this was to bring four people side to side on the gangway. While disembarking in SF, a crew member yelled at a father to keep his front bike tire out of the staircase. The father, presumably not understanding, stayed in the same spot. This very obviously angered the crew member who found it upon himself to come down the stairs and yell to the man, in his face nonetheless, to step back for safety reasons. A less angry attitude could have achieved the same result. The ferry at least passed by Alcatraz, which was pleasing to my friend and the other tourists. I would strongly advise not to take this ferry company. They seem to not care about dignity and customer service.

Not setup well for the high bike traffic heading back to San Francisco. Why do I need to wait in a line for 2 hours instead of being able to buy a ticket ahead of time and guarantee a spot on a particular ferry? First come, first serve does not work well here

I took the ferry from Sausalito to SF on Labor Day at 12:45pm. The bartender on duty was awesome! Great service. Can’t wait to come again.

Double control of you have a ticket. Long lines usually to fit whole queue to the traject. They will take a picture for you.

It was a great trip to Sausalito using Golden Gate Ferry . Its cheaper when you use Clipper card to pay for the trip to sausalito in Ferry.

Wonderful, I arrive quickly, very clean and I enjoy the natural beauty, I just miss the little coffee.

I took the ferry to Sausalito and it was better than I expected. Come to downtown San Francisco, Alcatraz, and see the Golden Gate Bridge.

The place is beautiful but very dirty. There is an automatic information board about departures inside the market hall.

Just a marina

Like any service that has a monopoly on the ferry crossing from Sausalito to San Francisco, they do what they want with the customer, with their money and with their time. They charge dearly, do not provide adequate information, and treat their customers poorly. If you are on a bicycle, do not think that by arriving 30 minutes before you enter, we lost more than a half hour there, they do not refund and nobody takes care of anything! Before taking the ferry, get other passengers and share a taxi that will take your bikes.
