To be honest, I have never given a bad comment to any place on google, this is the first time. Please get rid of living here. They gave your apts key to cleaners, painters, and did not tell you in advance. So dont be surprised if a random person shows up at your home. By the way, those maintenance people who grabs drinks from your fridge, just like at their own place. I have talked about these things with office people, they told me, no one would take your stuff. So helpful.
Living here was a nightmare. Management was extremely unhelpful. One of my roommates had her boyfriend living with her, he was there constantly, even when she wasn’t, and was constantly high and very disruptive. They would have loud fights in the middle of the night, he even broke her door slamming it. One night he asked me if he could bring a gun into the apartment, and when I asked management to help they said they would find her another suite but then did nothing. Management even denied the legitimacy of my claims, saying that I had no proof. Absolutely no thought or respect is given to residents. The appliances barely work. The rooms are often still dirty when you move in from the previous resident. There is constantly broken glass in the parking lot, and they will take any opportunity to charge you an extra fee. Terrible place to live. So glad to be leaving.
Very outdated appliances with almost no community amenities. Wifi is constantly out every now and then which is a hassle. The only good thing is its location (very convenient for NCSU students), and inclusion of everything in rent with no extra charge for additional utilities. But they like to charge you for trivial things.
Internet has been out for nearly 18 hours so far. I have missed 3 classes so far as well as two important meetings. This always happens here, if you want proper internet PLEASE DO NOT LIVE HERE. After living here for 2 years, I will not be resigning my lease.
Living here is an unpleasant experience for me. First is its expensive price. As an old apartment with no furniture, its price increased year by year until the COVID-19, and the free public facilities such as a gym or swimming pool were all located in another apartment of their company. Second is its terrible management. After I lived for a year, my two roommates decided to move to a cheaper and larger apartment nearby because they couldnt accept the high price. However, due to the impact of the COVID-19, the apartment failed to find new roommates for me. After I lived alone for half a year, the apartment suddenly told me that I MUST move to another room to save their maintenance expenses, and I dont want to put in the energy to move all of my furnitures is the only reason I hadnt moved before. When I was forced to contact my new roommates and get everything ready to move away, they told me that they had found two new roommates for me, and they told me again that I was FORBIDDEN to move. At the same time, my friends have encountered noise and littering problems, and the manager didn’t help them at all, instead let them handle it themselves.
Awful. The amenities are extremely outdated and constantly breaking down, the wifi and reception here is terrible, only two of the burners on the stove work, and most of the doors are nearly coming out of their hinges. Dishwashers and drying machines are constantly breaking down. The circulation here is almost nonexistent so expect all your clothes to smell dusty and moldy. There have been multiple cars that have had their windows busted and broken into throughout the year (I highly doubt there are cameras on the premises) and there is limited visitor parking. The tow company practically sleeps in the parking lot and is quick to tow any visitor car not in one of the few spaces available. Community perks include a big sandbox with a corn hole set, two hammocks, a grill, a small gym, and access to a pool at another complex about five minutes drive away. Sure the staff is fine, but that doesnt change the fact that the place is terribly run down and sketchy. My best advice to anyone thinking about signing a lease here is to not.
Horrible internet service. Internet is down almost every week. We all have online classes and many other school/work related obligations. We can’t afford to not have internet, especially during days like today where the internet has been down for almost an entire day.
Please, for gods sake, fix the internet. It’s been 15 hours and ongoing without internet. We all received an email saying how the internet will be back in a few hours, and after 15 hours, it’s still not back. Considering this is student housing as well as 95% of classes being online, this is ridiculous. Personally, I have a exam today, and I wasn’t able to study at all last night due to this. Now I have to find a place with a proper internet connection to take this exam, and I won’t be able to take it on my familiar, desktop PC. This isn’t the only time this happens. The internet here is horrendous. It’s REALLY slow (in comparison to competitors) and it always has downtime on days just like these. They won’t bother to upgrade the internet connection, which is sad because most of school is online.
If you need a stable and fast internet connection, don’t rely on centennial village for that. My internet randomly shuts off every now and then, and the speed is really slow. I even offered to pay for my own internet, but wasn’t allowed to do that.
One of the most outrageous, worst property management in Raleigh. Avoid them at all cost. They can come up with 10000 excuses to charge you various fees with minimal service. They just lack basic decency of property management. If you are happy with other properties, you need to be very cautious with them. Maybe hire a lawyer to read the fine prints of their agreement.
Nice and clean community. Britt and Brenda are very helpful and informative.
To start with, a lot of people who gave 5 stars for this apartment are the people who work or worked at the leasing office. Dont be fooled.I have never wrote a google review before, I was never as irritated enough to spend time doing this. Centennial village was not too bad when first moved in but as I spend time here there were tones of issues...First, this apartment complex is infested with bugs. I saw cockroaches in bedroom, bathroom, kitchen... it was even infested with ants and ladybugs.Theres Avent Ferry shopping center right across the street which is nice but which means there are so many homeless people walking around centennial village. One of my friends apartment was robbed by a homeless people... I see all kinds of sketchy people during day time and especially at night. Never forget to lock the door because they even knock the door and try to open it.I had to call the police once because there was constant catcalling by sketchy people IN THE apartment complex. I never felt safe living in this apartment...Even though they say its a student apartment, there are family living here, men in their 40s living here...So many unfair charges. As u can see in the comments, centennial is known for the charges. One time there was rotten food leftovers and beer cans in the apartment hallway and Centennial was trying to charge every resident living in that floor. They were saying that we caused the damage to their apartment. How can you charge residents when the apartment is in such an open area where anyone can walk in...? I am moving out this week, and they are trying to charge me with the pool pass that i never received and $60 move out fee? For what? They didnt even help me moving out... It just does not make sense to me.
Do not rent here. I’ve been here 2 years and it’s a terrible complex. They keep raising the rent and offering no new benefits. You have to drive to a different complex to use the pool. There isn’t hardwood in every unit like they like to advertise online. I’ve had my tires slashed and they couldn’t do anything about even though they boast about having 24/7 security. There isn’t accesss to the wolfline unless you live at centennial village which they neglect to tell you just so they can sign a lease. They change staff and neglect to tell their residence. And if you are going to say you are premium student living, don’t allow non students to live the. I’ve had someone break the fire extinguisher and knock on my door for weeks, with the office doing nothing about it. They just asked me if I knew the person, which if they paid any attention they would know I do not. I’ve also had my packages open by other residents when left by my door. They do business with Unlimited Recovery which is THE worst towing company every. That comany took all of Raleigh’s high school dropouts and put them in a room together so you know nothing productive happens there. Overall 0/10 would recommend this place. Everthing they post online is a lie so buyers beware.
Love this community and the team
