I was so excited to tour this apartment complex today! Unfortunately, they do not have any apartments available until mid-September and I am looking to move in late August. However, this is not what made my experience negative. The lack of customer service is what ruined my experience. When my fiancé and I initially walked into the leasing office, we were not met by ANYONE. Just stared at. We were not offered any help. In addition, the woman in the leasing office that we did end up speaking to, after at least a minute of her staring at us, was not interested in providing us with help. She did not give us consistent eye contact, nor was she enthusiastic or kind. She was content with informing us that they did not have any apartments available rather than going the extra mile to see if she could still provide us with assistance. If you are looking to move into an apartment just to move in, I’d suggest here. If you’re like me and value excellent customer service, as well as individuals who care about even POTENTIAL residents, I would not suggest here.

I have lived at Legacy at Six Forks for a year now and have had a very pleasurable experience. The apartment is very nice, competitively priced for the area, and is an overall nice complex/community. The leasing office has been beyond helpful and courteous to me and all maintenance has been addressed quickly. I highly recommend this apartment complex for anyone looking for a new home in the North Raleigh area!

This is a great place to live! The new management company has been super responsive and done a great job keeping up with the exterior common areas. The renovated interiors are well appointed, clean and quiet. I highly recommend living here!

Apartments do not look like pictures at all. Appliances are very old. Floors are vinyl. Maintenance is non responsive. Garbage pick up is spotty at best.

I would give the complex 4.5 stars our of 5! The location is excellent. The price is fair for Raleigh. I have been here about one year. I like my apartment! Mine is not too noisy. I have not had a insect/pest issue. The grounds are nice. There seems to be plenty of parking. And the neighborhood is good too. The resident make-up is all ages, families and singles. Lots of people get out and walk to enjoy the weather and enjoy the nice neighborhood.I have had only good experiences with office staff. The maintenance staff seems to know what they are doing.I would recommend these apartments!

I am looking forward to making Legacy my home. The staff is amazing and as one of the older communities in Raleigh, the new management company is bringing the most amazing energy to this gem. I’ve lived here for 2 years and have seen the property under two different managing companies. Personally, both companies have suited my needs in a timely manner, given me my privacy and have been very pleasant to work with.Recently, I reached out to the new property manager, Dawn, about my ceiling cracking and falling into my living room, and she immediately responded with a phone call and follow up email. I work from home and she was extremely courteous when I asked for a heads up before anyone came over to my apartment to check. She did exactly what she said was going to do, the maintenance guys were very respectful and asked before they opened doors or went upstairs. They provided thorough expectations and designated a time to come back and fix the issue.The grounds of the property have gotten a face lift, with less trash laying around and broken down cars removed from the parking lots. I like the fact that Dawn and team are cracking down and enforcing rules to keep the complex looking cleaned up.For the area, the price for square footage is great, you’re close to all the Raleigh action, have plenty of access to great trails, restaurants and grocery stores. Overall, I feel super safe and even though I haven’t met a lot of neighbors, we all see each other regularly and wave!

I have lived here for 7 months, each month I always have issues with my apartment, they will never fix anything on time, the last one is my bathtub having this obnoxious odor,I have called the office severally to report this case and even went to speak to the management and its been two months nothing has been done,and I pay my rent first day of every month.everyday I live in hailing what I dont know, my health is at risk due to poor management, did I mention the roaches is nothing to write about

Pros: Great location. Really the very best thing about this place.Cons: Maintenance team and management have changed a few times and while it was fairly good about 2-3 years in a row, this new company is not great. Ive had a broken refrigerator (leaks water inside) since May and its still not fixed. The back stairs lights have been out for months now as well - this is a definite safety issue but there is no resolution and no sense of urgency or care. Water pressure on third floor apartment is pretty bad - as the boyfriend puts it, I had better water pressure in Baghdad.

Please DO NOT rent here!I’m sure you do not want to rent from people who tell you ‘you have to wait until morning to extract water from your apartment or because 5 other units called the emergency line about flooding and to just put down towels’ especially when the flood is caused by overflowing of water from the sewage. Mind the flood has covered the entire living room and kitchen so I’m not sure what towels would do in this situation. When asking the emergency maintenance worker his name he responded by saying ‘have a good evening we’ll TRY to get to you in the morning’ and hangs up in our face.Also they do not care if your living in heat during this dreadful summer. We’ve been having issues for 6 weeks and counting with our AC unit and the issue still isn’t fixed. There is lack of communication between maintenance and management.The previous management company, when the apartment complex was named Hawthorne at Six Forks, was fair in making sure our issues were handled no matter if they were on their way out the door for the evening.New management, Covenant Property Services and it’s leasing office employees are extremely rude! The property manger, Dawn, is even ruder.It just seems as if it’s a bunch of people who dont care about tenants issues because it’s not affecting them directly.I REPEAT: Please look elsewhere! Please save your self the headache and stress!

DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!! Current management is horrible! Especially, the manger Dawn Gabriel. She only cares about the money and not the safety of the tenants. If you want to live in a quiet, peaceful and SAFE neighborhood than this is NOT it! Keep looking! Do not waste your time or money! I would not recommend this complex to anyone with the current management. Please don’t let the pictures on the site fool you! This place has a lot maintenance issues. And with new management they won’t send anyone until days or weeks later.

DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!!!!! The new management does not care about the tenants at all. They are very rude when a tenant calls with an issue. The apartments on the bottom floors tend to flood when it rains and when you call you are told you have to wait until morning before anyone can see about the issue. You are just supposed to sit in a puddle of sewage water and wait. When you speak to a maintenence rep they refuse to give their name and hang up on you. We have also had issues with our central air unit that took more than 5 weeks to fix. It is barely fixed now and they had to give us portable units for the living room and the master bedroom (we are in a 3 bedroom apartment). The portable unit in the master bedroom is still in use because there is still no air flow in the room. Overall this new company is terrible to the tenants and we are contemplating breaking our lease. Dont move here. The stress isnt worth it.

Stay away from this joint. Lived here for 3+ years and from to management companies. I paid more for the upgraded apartment with the stainless appliances. 2 days ago refrigerator died and we lost most of everything that was in it. They ordered a new fridge and they brought us the cheapest brand new one they could find. When I asked about the stainless steel package they were like that was the old company. So now I have a downgraded wired shelf black hotpoint fridge. I know the will want me to still pay for the upgraded price. This place has become a joke and not in a funny way. I’ve had maint orders sitting for 3 months that they have yet to do but tell me they have no idea why it’s not been done yet. Pool has yet to be opened even though they say waiting for inspection. That was 2 months ago when we asked. You’ll never get to talk to a real person at the office unless you walk in there and force them to talk to you. I’m done. Very done with this place.

We have lived here several years. There have been at least 3 different owners. Recently I reported issues with loud and annoying neighbors several times with no results other than them speaking to them. I had also requested a washer/dryer and no response. Now advised there are no more 3-6 month leases only 12 months or very expensive month to month, even during this epidemic!! It seems really unfair and the office staff seems to really not care at ALL! I definitely do not recommend this place!!

No place is perfect, but rarely does an apartment complex fulfill all the requirements for making a good home: right price, pretty location, close to anything one might need, and always have something available. I’ve lived here for 5 years, and can tell you that Hawthorne Six Forks hits all of these requirements. Happy to give it 5 stars.

My wife and I moved into our first apartment here in 2016 right when Hawthorne was renovating. I can not say enough good things about our experience. The staff is attentive and on top of thier stuff. The maintenance staff is friendly and well trained. Nice complex tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We are getting ready to move right across the street to a bigger layout in the same space. Love it and would recommend it to anyone

Woke up this morning to my car gone. It was towed. My tags were up to date but the sticker was not. I needed to get into work it was a busy day for me and this ruined a lot. They could at least have the towing company double check before towing. Hopefully they bring back my car. Smh

Having lived on this property for over 10 years, since 2007, I have no regrets. The location is ideal as its near public transportation and 5 to 15 minutes from 3 malls. The property is within walking distance to grocery stores, eateries, a pharmacy, and 3 shopping centers. The most recent management has brought about significant improvements. New roofing and exteriors. Professionally manicured andscaping. 2 well-maintained swimming pools. Well equipped gym/fitness center. Valet trash service. Security and police patrol. Timely and skilled maintenance responses. The complex hosts quite a bit of fun and interactive resident activities that have led to new resident friendships. The highlight of this property for me is the friendly and helpful management/leasing team. Those ladies are AWESOME! Choosing this property as your home would be a great decision!!!

We moved to Hawthorne Six Forks after relocating from Florida and let me tell you the office staff made everything so smooth during such a big move. Very professional and really make you feel like family. We been here for a year so far and no complaints. Any maintenance problems we had it was always addressed immediately. Very nice location in Raleigh and clean, and oh did I mention all the fun stuff they do like craft night, paint and sip, etc? I love it here.

I moved in here in September and I have absolutely loved the experience so far. Management and office staff are so sweet and polite, maintenance works diligently to fill requests quickly, and the people in the community are a delight. The gym is new as well which I have enjoyed using quite often.

Pretty good place. My 4 maintenance requests were handled within 48 hours of posting, including follow ups. Rent is cheap. Neighborhood is fine if not luxurious. Staff has always been helpful and understanding. 8/10 would rent again.

Moving in January. Starting my apartment search and decided to stop by to take a look at the complex. Lanyra started assisting me, she told me the apartment I would want to see was not ready to view . All she did was write the fees down and told me I could look online with the 3D tour. Its not just about the apartment its about the community. I was shown nothing and pretty much dismissed. Just like that a potential tenant is lost.

I moved here in Feb 2016. In the big 2 bed 2 bath.. I have no bugs inside my apartment.. Everything works fine.. Granted, when I first moved in I had issues with a leaky faucet which was fixed, and a toilet issue which was addressed immediately.! No women maintenance have been to my home but if they did I wouldnt see an issue with it.. Women can handle the job just as well as a man can.. I pay my rent on time thus, I have no problems.. I give 4 stars because their is bad lighting near my apartment door, and sometimes trash (a soda bottle, juice container, paper on the ground) will sit for weeks!! So that is an issue.. Also I was never told where the gym or laundry facility was located and still dont know.. Its quiet here, never seen prostitutes cops or drug dealers here. Im from NYC so Im sure I will be able to spot that action if I seen it.. Overall, its not luxury living but its a good place to call home...

When we first moved here we absolutely loved it.It was quiet, and our neighbors were quiet. We had a bug problem which management tried to fix but Terminix did no good so I bought Riddex and plugged them into the wall and it ran all those bugs right back to their owners. Now every neighbor on top of us are sounding like they’re dropping bowling balls and running marathons!!!Dogs barking ALL the time, it’s gotten to be not enjoyable anymore!!!Time to go!!!!!!!!!

In my 2nd year living here & have been satisfied since moving in. The application process was quick simple & straightforward. Move in was stress free they had everything prepared. The staff is great, they’re always friendly & helpful when you need them. If you have something you need done it gets taken care of in a timely manner. Overall area is great, nice & queit not a lot of commotion. The new added community amenities are a nice touch also.

This place is horrible! All they did was try to cover up with paint and cheap fixes. You have to call multiple times to get anything fixed. Then its cheap fixes again.Trash everywhere. Including finding used condoms.Its a complete dump. Office staff is rude and dismissive and ignorant. That includes the community manager. Heard her once while paying rent talking trash about ghetto tenants then she realized I was there and got real quiet. Look the other reviews. All say the same. Stay away!!!!

I went to check out the apartment after submitting an application and suddenly changed my mind. The pictures on the website is completely different from how the apartments actually look. The maintenance looks very poor. The outside looks like its falling apart, I could only imagine the inside. Either remodel or tear this place down.

My wife and I were interested in viewing the property so we called ahead to set up an appointment. When we arrived, we were not greeted at all, but rather stood there for ten minutes while the Leasing Consultant continued to flirt with a neighborhood police officer. She did not acknowledge us at all. The least she could have said was, Good morning. Ill be right with you. But she never even made eye contact with us so we just left because the property looked poorly managed.

I remember living here back in 2009 back when it was Woods of North Bend. It was dirty and rundown. But they have completely revamped the exterior and seriously upgraded the kitchen appliances to stainless steel. I might consider this place as a place of residence in the near future.

We were residents here in the past when it was woods of north bend, my wife and I, we moved out because of the poor service. We drove by last year and saw all the renovations that were being done INCLUDING the amazing new top of the line gym facility they built. We decided to give “hawthorne six forks” another try. THIS has been the best decision of our marriage thus far. The staff are great and ALWAYS friendly and accommodating and the maintenance guys get everything cleaned up and handled in a VERY timely fashion. So grateful to be in the midst of ALL this new change. The Management is horrible. They dont listen to concerns, you would put in a request and it isnt taken care of. They do something and then lie and said they didnt do or say even when you have proof. Clearly the Property Owners doesnt care because if they did with all these complaints about rude and disrespectful office staff you would think they would clean house. I do understand the apartments are old, however working with piss poor staff makes it worst. All the great people that worked here are gone. Stop making your tenants feel as if they are doing a favor by staying here they are paying customers, they deserve respect and a pleasant competent staff to work with.

My BF lives here and this neighborhood is plagued with a HUGE pest issue and it’s disgusting.In the summer, he always had millipedes crawling everywhere, every day.They would come out of a spaces in the vent. We literally watched them crawl back into the vent. They’d be in the bathroom, the kitchen, in the carpet, etc.Now, there is a sudden influx of those HUGE black water bugs in the house, on average two a week for the past two months!!He mentioned this to a Terminex employee as the neighborhood has them come and spray.All they could say was that the bugs come from the doors and not vents although the water bugs are found crawling on his bedroom walls near the vents or in the kitchen, and more recently in the kitchen sink!Also, with Terminex, they don’t do searches for the infestation, they just spray over areas in which they always spray over which obviously isn’t working. A member of their maintenance even admitted to knowing about the bug issue and pretty much summed it up as common and advised just to spray.It’s disappointing to know that no matter how clean you are, you are still forced to live with nasty insects!

I havent had anything good to say about my experience here so I was not going to say anything. I was just going to finish out my lease and leave because there are already more than enough bad reviews online for this complex. I dont have time to go into all of my issues. My latest maintenance request was due to the ceiling in my bathroom falling down. On a positive note they came to fix it the very next day. My issue is they did not fix it thwy just painted the hole. Not only did they just paint it but they did not even have the decency to put plastic down or even move some of my things out of the way so they wouldnt get paint all over them. Id see if it was underwear, a razor, or even a towel and you didnt want to touch it...JUST WHY!

Anything with hawthorn in the name...don’t even bother! their apartments have bugs, the “handy” men are lazy as hell and the back of the one I lived in was dirty as hell, I couldn’t sit on my patio If i wanted to! So much trash back there! Also we kept getting slugs in our apartment.. the kids don’t have any kind of curfew they are rude and disrespectful. I am particularly embittered that she found it necessary to talk down to me in our meeting of 02, May, 2016. Her tone and attitude reeked of disdain. Rather than addressing my concerns and deal with them directly, she chose to hand them off to someone else in your company who had as she said ...a higher pay grade. Her insistence that your lawyers had written your contract and there was nothing that I as your customer, could do about it turned out to be false and misleading. She should not assume that anyone sitting across from her is poor, stupid, has inferior knowledge or little access to resources. Perhaps what bothered me most about this exchange was when I told her that we did not have a signed contract and she stated My staff has been well trained and I would take their word over yours anytime. Few would disagree that her attitude toward those you are expected to serve is loathsome and most repugnant.The most desirable course of action was what I had suggested in the first place. Both parties recognize that mistakes were made and then work out an amenable settlement. It would have cost her nothing to graciously process a refund. We gave your office a Cashiers check as was requested and were told it would NOT be deposited until we signed a lease. Personnel in your office knew this statement to be untrue. We then waited NINE (9) days for our refund. Remember that very few satisfied customers sing your praise, but every unhappy customer tells at least ten people about a bad experience! Rest assured that several hundred people already know this sad saga in every minute detail.I wish her the best of luck in whatever career path she may choose next. It is my hope that she does not continue in the Customer Service Industry; in my opinion she is really are not very good at it! Perhaps that is the reason she averages a bit over three years each at her last five places of employment.It should go without saying that our business is concluded and I do not need, wish, expect or desire to hear from you or anyone else about this matter. I made the mistake to move here with completely false advertising. Theres NOTHING NEW about this place but the stove & refrigerator, have lived here since April & my apartment has had more Mantinence issues than any place Ive ever been in my life! Dont be fooled and sign absolutely nothing for a year, youll be trying to move out by the 2nd month!!!! If youre used to living mediocre, not caring about the wellbeing of yourself or want to waste money, this is the right place for you!!! If I could give this resident a -1 I would!!!

I had my worst apartment experience here and I have lived in flats in Colorado, Nebraska, South Africa and downtown Raleigh. I have never experienced so much unprofessionalism and downright rudeness as I have here. Staff appears to be uneducated. Trust the reviews of 1.5 stars and do your research. Even though they are updating the apartments, customer service is everything and you will not get that there.

Detailed review below:Me and my boyfriend have lived here now for almost a year and our lease is coming to an end, we are even thinking about renewing or moving into a different floor plan. We currently leave in a newly renovated 3 bedroom, we were the first people to live in this unit since it was upgraded with new carperts, hardwood floors, and brand new appliances. Only thing I would point out about renovations are some paintovers of minor imperfections on walls, doors, etc but they aren’t a big deal; also when it is colder out out front door sticks a bit and is missing seal in a couple spots. Otherwise apartment is very spacious and priced well for area. Location is perfect as well. We also have had no problems with hearing our neighbors beside or below us, we are on third floor.Haven’t had any issues with office staff, in fact anytime we call the office someone always answers, as long as it is normal business hours of course. Only mainance issue we have had was in the summer when the coolant in our AC unit ran out. It was a Sunday and I put in an emergency mainance request and someone was there within 30 minutes. We also had a few lightbulbs out over our kitchen bar, which I put in as a low priority request for and someone still came to change them the next morning even though it had snowed. Something that also stands out to me is that every morning someone from mainance team is picking up any garbage left in parking lot, they check every morning!All of our neighbors have been pleasant and anytime we have used the laundry facility it is clean and usually don’t even run into anyone else. Sometimes our parking lot fills up quickly on the weekend but otherwise no issues there.Only reason I would not give 5 stars is that when talking about renewing our lease, special rental rates are only extended to new residence and are not extended to residence who are renewing leases and have paid all payments on time. This would be a nice thank you to loyal residence.Over all have had a good experience living here!

Do yourself a favor and dont rent here. Theyve renovated but the place is still squalor. Youre lucky if the staff even answers the phone and complaints brought to them are met with them talking over you. The office is also immensely unorganized. Just drive around this place and youll see its not worth their asking price. Ive had problems with my ceiling leaking MULTIPLE times. Also, there is a GIANT pot hole in the drive way that Ive brought to their attention and its yet to be fixed. Also, trash like couches and such will sit at the dumpster for months. My advice for the new owners is get new maintenance people and new office staff.

Worst place ive ever lived in raleigh hot water last for 5 mins as my lease was up may 31 i signed off to be gone but they billed me for an extra month .. im not the best guy in the world but do nottttttttttt move here take my advise

HORRIBLE !!!!!! STAYYYYYYY FARRRRRR AWAY AS POSSIBLE FROM THIS PLACE AS POSSIBLE!. RENEWED MY LEASE AND IT WAS THE WORST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE. INFESTATION OF BUG, ANIMALS IN THE WALL, AND MANAGEMENT SUCK! MAINTENACE DOES NOT KNO WHAT THEY ARE DOING, LEASING CONSULTANTS ARE AFRAID OF THE MANAGER, AND THE MANAGER NEEDS TRAINING ON HOW TO DEAL WITH PEOPLE! THE APARTMENTS ARE OLD AND RUN DOWN. This place is horrible the manager Lorie Melton is unprofessional and rude treats tenants like garbage. Insects all over my apartment and paint falling off walls and ceiling falling apart and not children friendly at all!! Can’t wait for lease to be over! This lady Laurie needs to be fired!
