For the majority of my stay, I’ve enjoyed being a resident at this property. However, I will be moving out at the end of this month and I am disappointed in the lack of communication when it comes to fees associated with moving out. The company is charging me a move out fee of $60. I’m not entirely sure of why I am being charged to move out and it sounds absolutely ridiculous. I’ve contacted the office twice regarding this and no one has contacted me concerning this information. If all the items in the apartment has been removed, cleaned, etc there should be no fee for moving out.
Load noisy from the cars, old applications and high rent. They even gave lower rent for new tenants. It’s unreasonable that everyone has different rent to be honest. The move out fee is also too high and my deposit didn’t comeback in two weeks after the new tenant moved in. (Anyway, I got the deposit finally. So I gave one more star. )
I love the staff and they are very informative about their property. Although we had a few bumps here and there, they always made sure to resolve it. I appreciate the location because its not too far from the city but not too deep in the rural side. I would recommend others.
If you like the smell of pot, the common sound of cars ramping up to jump the speed bump this place wouldnt be so bad. I like the staff and the apartment isnt to bad. But its old and every roommate has smoked Pot and after telling them I have problems with the smell they continued to do smoke. The office hasnt done anything to my knowledge about it. There isnt much they can do anyway I guess.
Great quality appt. Very spacious and has thick walls compared to other college appts.Unfinished (of course), but each room has an ethernet cable and shared wifi for each unit is faster than even what I have at home.
I have read the reviews and it doesnt sound good at all. I love the location and was actually looking for an efficiency for a family member. My question is Have you repaired the problems and do you have a full time maintenance person on staff? Management must do better by the people due to the fact that most attend NCSU. Its embarrassing. It looks like you need willing vessels who are dedicated and devoted staff in making this the best apartment area around. It can be done! Blessings
They have deceptive marketing. On the apartment listing it doesnt shows that the listing is for 1 bed or the whole apartment. So they wasted 5 minutes of my time. Im gonna give them 1 more minute to write this bad review and take down their rating.
The appliances aren’t great, there’s hardly any nice amenities (no pool, not much outside area to hang out in) and it’s near a sketchy area so it doesn’t always feel safe. I was located on the first flood and the parking lot was directly next to my window. The setup of the apartment isn’t great and there was no ventilation in the kitchen so cooking would cause the smoke detector to go off often. Also we didn’t not have a light in our living room so it was very dark. I saw a lot of bugs in my apartment. The good things were: nice front desk people, convenient to NC State, pretty cheap (not cheap enough for what you get though), and big rooms and closets. I recommend looking elsewhere for housing in Raleigh though.
Im being generous with the two star rating. I also made the mistake of signing the lease for another year shortly after moving in, I guess thats how they trick you into staying. The appliances were old and needed to be replaced. The oven was clearly never cleaned out by the previous tenants as it had a thick crust on the bottom of the oven, that stank like old meat when the oven was used. I was sharing an old refrigerator with two other people in the apartment. There are no ammenities, the clubhouse/gym was always closed at night, so I hardly got a chance to use it. They say you can use the pool at one of their sister apartments, but the staff could never really tell me where they were located. And be careful where you park. They have a towing company that is very aggressive about making a buck. I had a friend come to visit, and the tail end of his car was just over the line in the visitor parking and they towed him anyway. Cost him around $200 bucks to get his car back.I almost got towed myself because I had the wrong parking decal and not the new parking decal, even though the apartment complex sent out an email stating they would suspend towing until such and such a date so that all residents can get the new parking decal. And you will be sharing an apartment with other people, most of the time strangers. I have learned that not everyone was taught to take out the trash or not to fill up a shared space with all of your possessions. Despite my complaints to roommates and the staff about the level of cleanliness or lack thereof, nothing was done. Once my lease was up, I was gone.If you do decide to lease from them, take a tour of the apartments where they want to place you, not just the demo apartment they want to show you around in.I wouldnt recommend this place to my arch enemy.
Centennial ridge is an excellent apartment complex. We take care of many commercial properties and centennial ridge and village are at the top! The office 👩💻and maintenance 👨🔧staff are top notch and you won’t find anyone that is more involved or charismatic about their community. I would highly recommend them to anyone!
1 start bc you cant give it 0. I lived at Centennial for years. I recently moved out . They gave me a keychain that was for a pool pass when I moved in. They never stated it needed to be returned or that failure to do so would result in a fee. The keychain broke about a month after I received it. I never used the pool and didnt think a key chain was very important so I threw the broken key chain away.Fast forward 2 years, I move out and they are charging me $50.00 for not returning the key chain. I moved out of state so there is no way I am trying to return to use their pool. I have reached out multiple times in attempts to get the charge removed as I dont think I should be held liable for a keychain that I didnt know needed to be returned. The office staff as well as corporate has been very rude and hardly ever answers the phone or emails I have sent. The times I have spoke with someone they refuse to remove the charge. They are threatening to send me to collections and tarnish my financial standings over a keychain. Not to mention the place was a complete dump when I moved in. They didnt clean it before I moved in and there was still personal belongings from prior tenants in the drawers when we moved in. One of the room doors had been kicked in and the entire frame was held together with tiny nails about every 8 inches all the way around the frame. The carpet looked like it had been vomited on and never cleaned up. The entire apartment reeked of weed and cigarette smoke. Our AC sounded like a big mac truck and went out constantly. This is the worst apartment I have ever lived in.
Im moving out towards the end of July, but just wanted to say thank you to the staff for making my first apartment move-in a simple and pleasant experience. Any issues I had during my year-long stay here, and there were very few, were handled timely and professionally. Im sad to leave but wish everyone who works here the best.
Overall this has been a decent place for my son to live. But they dollar you to death, move In fee, move out fee, fees if you dont turn in your access key to gym, a wrist band for pool and parking pass. Ive paid $13,656.00 in rent over 24 months, Twice what id my son 2 year education cost. I think these move in, move out fees are unfair. No one helps you move in or out or pays for the gas to do so.The towing company is my biggest complaint. Centennial Housing should be ashamed to be affiliated with these devils. They hooked to my oldest sons truck while he was working on my other sons truck that had broke down. They were less than 10 feet away. Its ridiculous. The towing company itself gives Centennial Ridge and themselves a bad name.
I like staying here but with Covid they give no opportunities or understanding. Working a job for 3 hrs a week now and they don’t care and that’s not due to anyone’s fault that jobs were cut. They won’t enroll me in the programs for due to having a co sign even though my said co sigh was supposed to be off my paper work. They won’t deduct the payment only put it into another month. If the shutdown made work unavailable how are we supposed to pay double the next month?
This place has gotten worse over time. Office staff keeps changing almost every year. They like charging you more and then they like well that the past nothing they can do now Things take a long time to get fixed because sometimes they have just one maintenance worker on staff. I am happy to say Im not going to be living here after July 3, 2018, because I feel like they become more about money than the people that live here. I have lived in theses apartment from May 2012 when they apartments were better to live in.
Why is my $30 credit for getting my own rentals insurance not taken in place for 2+ months and even after Ive moved out? Ive got charged $10 for dead light bulb in the bathroom as missing. $75 for gym key fob Ive never received in the first place two years ago.
Amazing apartment complex at very reasonable flat rates plus no overages. Bedrooms are much larger than other student living places Ive been and private bathroom is a great touch. Also the included washer and dryer helped out tons!
Had a great experience living here, staff were always friendly and addressed any issues that came up right away. Rent is amazing for the quality of the apartments and amenities. 10/10 would recommend
Unreasonable charge. Transfer fee, move in fee, move out fee, you will be charged different kinds of fees if you live there for enough time.Long time need for repair things every time. The toilet in my bathroom doesnt work totally when I moved in, then it took 12 days to be repaired. Also, office staff looks like friendly but! This is the only advantage they have. They cannot help you nothing except picking up packages or charging. In addition, the leasing office is only efficient when charging and towing cars. When you ask for maintenance, they tell you they are busy. However, they are only working on charging unreasonable fees and towing cars all the day.
The office staff is AWESOME!! everytime i have a question they are quick to respond. Plus the Free Food Friday at the clubhouse is a nice touch which other apartment complexes just dont offer. No surprise why Ive chosen to live here three years running.
Im moving into the 3-bedroom this fall. Just signed my lease last week. I toured and considered a handful of student housing properties in Raleigh, but ultimately chose this property because of how student friendly the community was and also because of how great the tour was. The tour guides really sold the property and kind of were the deciding factor on why I chose centennial.
I moved in August 12th and has been a great experience! Office staff is awesome and upbeat. Any request that get submitted is done quickly. Rooms are very spacious and affordable.
This is my first time write review at google map. And I would like to say, if you want to move in this apartment, youd better think it twice. The office is very far from the centennial village apartment. They have some lovely staff. I remember one lady help me deliver my package, which send to office by my mistake, to my apartment. But the management of this apartment is poor. Unexplainable charge, morning noisy mowing and emergency inspection visit. Anyway I would say find another apartment. It has reasons that why the review on google are so low.
This place is so nice! Both locations are very close to campus with spacious living room areas and nice bedrooms. I really enjoy how quiet it is. Everyone is super friendly!
I have had a lot of ups and downs over the course of living here. The majority of the issues are with the random roommates that I have and not the apartment complex itself. The maintenance men are always really quick about fixing any issues with the apartment and very nice as well. The two girls who work in the office, Danielle and Hailey, (I believe are their names: two pretty girls; a brunette with glasses and a blonde) have been the most helpful and pleasant people I have met at centennial. They really try to accommodate to my needs and have turned around my original issues with this residence.
I love Centennial! The staff is so helpful and doesnt beat around the bush to answer my questions. I cannot wait to live here this fall!
Centennial Ridge and Village is a great complex to live at! The bedrooms are extremely spacious and having no overages on the utilties is a bonus! The office staff and maintenance is always helpful and fast! I also like that I can park at Centennial Village to catch the Wolfline to class. You cannot find a better place than here!
I recently transferred over to Centennial Ridge from another student housing property in Raleigh after having some roommate issues. I was pretty skeptical about transferring anywhere that does roommate matching, but seeing as how I recently moved here from Maine I dont know many people. Centennials roommate matching matched me up with other NCSU students. Weve gotten along pretty well so far. Im happy to know that Ive moved into an apartment with people I can trust thanks to the roommate matching application.
Upon moving three girls into their apartment, we noticed a few items that needed attention. One of the rooms was missing a toilet tank lid and their dryer was rusty, with a broken lint filter. We notified the office about our concerns and these problems were taken care of within the week. The girls were very pleased and we were told to be sure and let them know if we had any other problems. What more could we ask for?
They want me to write something positive to the apartment, but it is impossible for me.The price is around the top 10% near NCSU, but they dont have shuttle bus like my neighbors. The maintenance responding is extremely slow, I reported the missing window screen at the first check-in day, and keptinforming them several times. I still dont have the screen 3 months later. My room is facing the forest, many insects out there, I have never opened my window for fresh air.The towing company they hire is a gangster, they only come at midnight. My friend come to visit me and stayed for one night. At 2:30 am, my friends car (definitely without permit) was towed. The office did nothing but just gave me the number of towing company. They are not supposed to keep the Parking clear but just want to get money from your friends pocket who come to stay at your place temporarily.
I wanted to amend a former review in which I took Centennial to task over some questionable leasing rate marketing and implementation efforts. This resulted in a previous one star review by me. Since that time Centennial has cooperated in coming to an acceptable compromise over these issues. Although their decisions are not completely as I would have hoped, I do want to acknowledge their willingness to discuss and reach different conclusions than those previously held by Centennial. At this time I would say that we will remain at Centennial and will take it a day at a time regarding future lease agreements.RespectfullyHorsedoc
Do you do background and credit checks? I have employment of over 4 years and also my fiance has verification of employment for 2 years, money is not a problem. Do u except a felony and bad credit ? Looking forward to replg!
I have tried to defend this place as long as possible, but I cant do it anymore. There is constantly yelling and loud music until late hours on week nights (2 am, usually). Management has been informed by multiple people on multiple occasions but has done nothing to fix the issue. I feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe being outside my apartment in the evenings. This past week, Ive been woken up around midnight every night by the noise. Im counting down the days until I can move out of this place.
To start with, a lot of people who gave 5 stars for this apartment are the people who work or worked at the leasing office. Dont be fooled.I have never wrote a google review before, I was never as irritated enough to spend time doing this. Centennial village was not too bad when first moved in but as I spend time here there were tones of issues...First, this apartment complex is infested with bugs. I saw cockroaches in bedroom, bathroom, kitchen... it was even infested with ants and ladybugs.Theres Avent Ferry shopping center right across the street which is nice but which means there are so many homeless people walking around centennial village. One of my friends apartment was robbed by a homeless people... I see all kinds of sketchy people during day time and especially at night. Never forget to lock the door because they even knock the door and try to open it.I had to call the police once because there was constant catcalling by sketchy people IN THE apartment complex. I never felt safe living in this apartment...Even though they say its a student apartment, there are family living here, men in their 40s living here...So many unfair charges. As u can see in the comments, centennial is known for the charges. One time there was rotten food leftovers and beer cans in the apartment hallway and Centennial was trying to charge every resident living in that floor. They were saying that we caused the damage to their apartment. How can you charge residents when the apartment is in such an open area where anyone can walk in...? I am moving out this week, and they are trying to charge me with the pool pass that i never received and $60 move out fee? For what? They didnt even help me moving out... It just does not make sense to me.
I am a student and the experience here was MISERABLE. Unfortunately they are the lowest rent for most student housing in the area but there is a reason for this! My apartment bathroom flooded 3 times and carpet was never replaced. Roommates were hateful and car towed multiple times by a corrupt company that is being sued by the city (of Raleigh). If you are a parent reading this I beg you to not consider this place because they do not care about your children or their needs.
This is a terrible place to live. I wouldnt recommend it to anyone. The first problem is it is outrageously expensive for the quality of the apartment. It also very noisy at all hours of the night, both from highway traffic and neighbors. The worst part is the management. They are practically THIEVES and/or SCAMMERS. They will try and charge you for things not in the lease while living there and after moving out. This quickly adds up to hundreds of dollars. They do this all with a smiling and having the audacity to say we value our residents. The only way to talk to these dim-witted people is to call an attorney. I warn you to STAY AWAY!
Do not waste your time trying to contact maintenance here after hours. I am a current resident here and I had a leak in my celling 3 weeks ago that was leaking onto my bed. Called maintenance and they came up here within a hour to try and fix it. They did not do much of fixing besides making us sleep with no ac. Now I have not 1 but 3 leaks (coming at different times in the day) in my celling and I called maintenance once again and told him the problem. He came to check it and told me there was nothing he could do until it stopped raining and when it did he would come back. Then he left within 30 minutes I had two more leaks come up so I called him back and told him and his response was control it the best you can well I did and put towels down. He never came back after the rain stopped so I called a friend of mine that does maintenance work. He comes and looked at everything and told me that my issues were basically coming from the window that was replace in my room a month after I moved in because they did not replace it correctly. Also I have mold coming from my window from the issue. My friend called maintenance, Matthew answers and my friend explains what he thinks the problem is and Matthew responds and says what do you want me to do about it. This is unacceptable, How am I supposed to sleep in a wet bed? I do not know. I am highly disappointed and I am strongly considering moving out!!!
I toured with my friend and absolutely loved it! It was exactly what we were looking for!
It a great place to stay I love the staff.
Awesome facilities and customer service! The staff at Centennial Housing made the leasing process stress-free.
As the parent of a student living here I dont want to even give this place one star. If you have a problem the local office staff are not sufficiently trained to help. Not only are they ill prepared for providing answers for legitimate concerns, the staff that I dealt with was extremely rude and inappropriate.I eventually spoke to someone at their corporate office but I am still waiting 4 days later for a response. My daughter cannot live in her apartment due to an illegal subleaser being there who has trashed the apartment and has 2 dogs there. We cannot even find out who this person is. Safety is a definite concern here but this apartment complex simply does not care. This is the worst company I have personally ever dealt with.
This establishment is very unprofessional. The dont clean the carpets correctly, they have huge water bugs, mouse, and spiders. The plumbing is bad. They have ugly white walls, they fine you for every little thing. The maintenance workers can open your doors; then leave, and leave your doors unlocked. They have no heart, and very inconsiderate of their tenants. I wish I would have never signed a lease to this place, they get you with their low rates...ITS NOT WORTH IT!!!!
Great location, cheap rent, and personable staff. They always go out of their way to help you.
Your simple student living with interactive fun staff that provide trivia Tuesdays and Free food fridays. Rent is bundled together with power and cable and internet. Also Charlie Twitty at the office is one of the most respectful and professional employees I know. He always greets you with a smile and knows how to handle any issue the arises with a solution to knock you socks off.
If I could give this place no stars I would. I PROMISE you dont want to live here. You arent robbed by the people. You are robbed by the leasing people. Let me start by saying. I complained 30 plus times about the noise level above me and nothing was ever done about it, they constantly said they called, but it still sounded like the guy above me was building something. In the lease it states they are suppose to be fined. However the guy was never fined (breach of lease). On to the next thing, everything in the damn place is old so youre constantly getting repairs done, they charge you to re paint walls when they are going to repaint when you move out anyways it anyways. I lived with a girl who smoked weed everyday, smh. There are move out fees but then they bill you other fees. They have a GANSTA ass towing company who comes around 12:00 to 2:30 am and tows residents cars, and you still gotta pay even if you show your pass. Save your time and money, BEWARE they seem to care but they dont. They keep the bathroom door by the gym locked so be prepared to pee on yourself while working out ( why leave the gym open but the bathroom locked?. Did I mention the carpet is CHEAP, I looked at the market value and they are over pricing the carpet. This place needs new management or needs to be re built. I will beware everyone of this place. They are doing inspections every day of the week, I had no help with cleaning in the apt and I was still charged cleaning fees, and responsible for everybody who didnt get their items. With 300 more bucks you can find a better place to stay. STEER CLEAR. ONly good thing is that they try and work with you.
Worst place I have ever lived. Move in and out fee still does not make sense. I really wonder the staffs work there communicate each other. There was a problem with my rent. They sent me email on 6th said there is no balance, so I thought everything went clear. The 8th they called and emailed me that there is a lateness fee. I am so freaking confused and talked to the office lady and she said I do not need to pay for the lateness fee. I handed out my personal check without lateness fee then next day they called me again that I still owe lateness fee! I am really really really unhappy with their service and miscommunication. I never recommend this place. Please find other place to live. People around this apartment smoke weed also. I can even smell
My son was told move in was Jan 2nd at 4pm, so we reserved a truck to move in on Jan3rd. On December 30th, we get an email saying its not convenient for them to do move in on the 2nd and they want to move it to Jan 3rd at 4pm. So we have reserved a moving van already and I am pretty ticked off that they just want to take another day off instead of being there like they should be. I am wondering if this is not a huge mistake since they cant even seem to hold up their end of the bargain on a move in time. Seems lame to me. I plan on billing them for the truck or suing if they do not put the time back or reimburse me for the truck. Please feel free to explain to me what holiday is on Jan 3rd?
Great community and friendly staff
Dont trust anything they say to make you sign your lease! They have a different staff member everyday and the person you may have first met probably wont work there by the end of your lease. I moved to centennial ridge last july because they were a pit bull friendly facility for students(wich is hard to find), now at the end of my lease they wont allow my dog to be registered and want me to pay fees with only 1 month left on my lease. I understand that people may not like pitbulls but dont say its OK then turn around and fine me! I wouldnt have signed knowing my dog wasnt aloud here and they knew that. To make sure this dose not happen to anyone else I wrote this review. Plus the apartments are very bad you get used carpet, small bathrooms, paper thin walls (you can hear everything your roommates do), and they go in your apartment without notices. All around worst decision I have ever made. P.S- once you sign your stuck they dont allow lease breaks.
I have been living here for a year and im planning to renew my lease. there are weekly events and sometimes free food.
I love the staff and how friendly and helpful they are to residents!
Omg !!!! I had the greatest experience working with ms. Leggett and finding the perfect apartment for my new school year at Nc state !!! Go Wolfpack !!!!
I love cenennial and I love my room. Large living space but there are a few cons to my experience. I love the property manager Brittney and the office workers have no problem with them! I just wish that if they are going to keep the gym open 24 hes then atleast open the bathroom so I dont have to ruin a workout and go home to use it. Just because one bad apples spoiled the bunch now we have to suffer for a long time makes no sense at all. Second the noise level it horrible Ive put in so many complaints but the noise always comes back. The mold always comes back and the dryer just needs to be removed i put in a request when I first moved in and the dann thing still sounds like a dead body in there. All and all its dad that our money means nothing to our needs.
I for one love living here. Yes there may have been some bad problems but they were easly fixed. I have lived here for 3 years now, some of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Maintenance is phenomenal and they get their jobs done quick and efficiently. For me I have an issue with smoking but any of the roommates I have had have been considerate and smoke away from the apartment. There are pros and cons but the pros far outway the cons. For me my major con is optix. They originally used Time Warner when I moved in 3 years ago, but have recently switched to optix. It isnt bad at first but for me lately it has been slow almost throttled. (I am a gamer so definitely like fast internet.) But other then just a personal gripe everything goes really well, plus I do love the ladies that work here. Sweet and caring for their residents. This has definitely been one of the better apartment complexs I have had the pleasure of living at.
Not a place you want to stay at.
The staff is awesome! Love living here!
They just want your money, thats all.
Friendly staff, Good location and Great price
RENTERS BEWARE!!! The management here are criminals!
