I was offered a terrible customer service from one of their employees, De*ora, was really rude and unprofessional when talking to me. Hope to find a better service in other company !
I rented a two bedroom apartment through Rhyne Management for the last two years. It was an older property but in good condition. Being older, there were some maintenance issues and Rhyne always responded quickly and fixed problems right away. Crystal was the person we generally interacted with (to sign the lease, mainly) and she was very nice and professional. The maintenance manager, Wes, was also professional and competent. Sadly, I lost my job because of Covid-19 but when things get better, I will definitely go back to Rhyne Management.
I’ve rented from them on multiple occasions over the years. Always found both their owner and property managers to be very professional. If I were to ever move back to Raleigh and needed a place, they would be my first call.
I rented from Rhyne for several years and rented a few different units. I finally left them and when I left they charged me for removing mirrors from the bathrooms! Really, why would I just take bathroom mirrors? I spoke to manager and asked her why would I take mirrors when I never taken anything from their units. I got no answer. They are crooks and will try to nickle and dime you on everything. I suggest you not rent from them but if you decide to rent please video your unit when.you move in and move out. They cannot be trusted! When you initially rent from them they are so nice but as soon as you get ready to move they become rude, hateful, lying crooks! Dont trust Terry or Deborah. Terry pretends to be a good person but shes really a hateful dishonest %&^%!
Will never ever rent from Rhyne again! Slum lords! Terry Macallister and Debora Thomas are the worst of the worst. Extremely rude and unprofessional. I hope they are no longer employed as landlords. I rented from them for 2 and a half years and eventually had to just cut my lease short because I can not deal with the unprofessionalism. Parking was a issue during my time there due to the fact that parking spots where not labeled. Promises would be made to resolve issues but action never taken until it’s literally too late. I’ve considered filing a law suit against them is how bad they are ! Deals are ok but totally not worth it !
They managed our property in Raleigh for over 15 years and did a great job.
Debora Thomas is absolutely rude and unprofessional. Horrible service!!
Great staff! Great prices with their rentals.
Leasing from Rhyne Management is one of the best decisions Ive made. Their staff is responsive, professional and very accommodating. I immediately felt comfortable signing a lease with them and they respond within hours to maintenance requests. My AC Unit was replaced a day after I reported an issue with it. The washer unit was hooked up on the same day I reported an issue and both Terry & Deborah have made this experience so easy for me. Thanks for the great service!
Don’t be fooled by the “Positive Reviews” on here they are probably being made by Friend’s and/or Family of The Management Team or by Tenant’s who are being offered Money or Reduced Rent in exchange for leaving their “Positive Review”If I was able to give a lower rating I definitely would. I’ve never rented from them but I definitely can tell that they are full of BS.I was curious about this certain apartment that they have on their Website and decided to make an appointment to go see it and once I arrived all sorts of red flags started going off.The guy that showed it to me had a fake demeanor about himself and I could tell that he was lying about everything that he was telling me and then I saw it for myself.I walked in and I immediately started seeing Roaches crawling everywhere all over the walls, doors, carpet, bathrooms, and literally ALL over the ENTIRE apartment including directly outside as well but wait this isn’t even all.The Kitchen Floor, Walls, Carpet, and basically the whole apartment were dirty and had mold growing in everything looked really rundown and not suitable for ANYBODY with Kid’s especially if y’all have Medical Problems. This Management Company needs to really fix their apartments to where they are suitable to actually live in I really don’t see how they are still in Business because clearly they are Horrible and don’t care about the Properties that THEY Manage.I confronted the guy that showed me the apartment about everything that I saw and he said well it’s normal for an apartment to look like that and that they didn’t know about the bug problem. WTF?? A Management Company doesn’t know about a bug problem is hard for me to believe but then again I can and the only reason why they “aren’t aware” of it is because they clearly do not go and check on their Properties and I would never lease ANYTHING with them not even if you paid me.You’re better off taking your Money and getting something really nice and upgraded even if it’s extra expensive your Health matters first.I live in a very nice place with another Company it’s expensive but it’s worth it and I’m very happy with my decision.
I have lived in an apartment managed by Rhyne Management for 10 years and I couldnt be any happier. The move-in was easy and the property agent was very nice and helpful. It is great to be able to pay rent online as well as request maintenance issues. Maintenance is always quick to respond and fix any issues Ive ever had. Ive always felt well taken care of and would definitely recommend anyone to check out their properties.
I have leased a property through Rhyne management for 15 years and it has been an incredible experience! I have never once had a problem of any kind from the manager or any of the other employees. Wes, in the maintenance department goes above and beyond to meet the tenants needs. If I needed to lease another property in the future I would do my best to find a Rhyne listing!
Our lease with Rhyne is done and over, I could not be more happy. Living in the duplex we rented out was treacherous. There was a severe humidity issue which when we viewed the home it was humid but it was almost summer and I just thought it was due to the weather. We signed the lease. It was literally us signing a year of our life away. Shortly after moving in I noticed the carpet downstairs was damp. I thought maybe they just cleaned it and it’s still damp from that. Perhaps it will dry in a day or two. No, it stayed damp, to the point if you walked across the floor in socks they would be wet. The carpet was also stinking. The kitchen floor would also move. I told the office about how damp the place was about a week after we moved in. I told them about how the kitchen floor would move because of how damp the floor boards were. I was told “It’s a floating floor” I don’t know exactly what sense that made. I had no response for such idiocy. From that point on I knew the management company was not going to be much service to us. Things I wish we had paid attention to before signing the lease... The moldy old house smell. (I thought it was just because the house had been sitting vacant.) The ceiling in the kitchen, cracked and buckling from being damp. The soft walls in the pantry and half bath. The “floating” kitchen floor. The fact my lungs felt like they were full of cotton after being in the house for more that 15 minutes and my nose would run. Alas it was a quick decision and we paid financially and with our health. The actual landlord/owner of the property cared enough to get the issues looked into further. He did a lot of work that lessened some of the humidity and old house smell. He should not have had to do work that he “HIRED” someone to do. The leasing company should have brought these issues up to the landlord not the landlord having to take time to connect with tenants, CARE enough to try to resolve issues. Shameful sham of a company! The only saving grace while living in the duplex was that we bought a dehumidifier which we pretty much ran all day every day along with running the air conditioner the same all year except winter. Otherwise the house would be like a swamp. Between doctor visits, medications, breathing treatments (which we never had prior asthmatic issues) and that electric bill which was $200+ easy, the home was our nightmare, we lived in a nightmare for a whole year. The dehumidifier on a bad day we would have to dump it 4 times a day that’s how damp the house was. The dehumidifier kept the floor from being damp and even the kitchen floor became more solid to walk on and stopped “floating”. Even with the dehumidifier and air conditioner running the place was still very uncomfortable and the air was still damp, and we still had to do breathing treatments. Other than that. The dishwasher ran for 4 hours no matter what. The old house smell was also accompanied by a pet odor likely a cat. The smell of urine from the yard next door every time you walk outside or open one of the windows that are not glued shut. Great neighbor honestly, but the smell was to much especially when it rained. The palmetto bugs/very big roaches that would frolic on the deck during late summer. (They were actually playing with and chasing each other)The occasional palmetto roach that would get in, they are very aware of your presence so you gotta move quick to get them. I used to be terrified of them that place got me to advance over it. Good things besides the landlord/property owner... The maintenance was quick to resolve MINOR issues. The one star is for the landlord/property owner. I would not recommend this company to renters nor property owners. There are better companies...use Yelp, do your research and find better.
I used to rent a townhouse from Rhyne Management and absolutely loved my unit. It was upkept very well, I never really had any issues with the property I rented, and the community was nice. I was very pleased with the friendliness and professionalism of the Rhyne staff and would highly recommend them as a company to rent from! Reasonable prices, and they take great care of their properties!!
Been with Rhyne Management since June, and before i write my review i can reassure you I DO NOT WORK FOR RHYNE, I AM NOT A FAMILY MEMBER OF ANYONE IN THE OFFICE, AND I AM NOT BEING OFFERED ANY TYPE OF MONEY OR DISCOUNTS TO WRITE MY REVIEW....RM has been the absolute best to me in my short tenancy. I did my research, i read the reviews but i also work in property management and know you cant always go based off of reviews. I took my time to go to the home that i was interested in and look around, yes it was alittle outdated but the house is nice. when I scheduled my tour something came up with the leasing agent so she left it unlocked for me (not the best idea just in case i had questions) so that I can self tour. All i noticed in the apartment was a few maintenance things like lightbulbs and some cleaning and spider webs which is expected if no one has walked the unit in a while.I talked with the neighbors who have lived there more than 25 years and they all had GREAT things to say about the neighborhood and RM. There were a few downsides but they were little things i can get over. RM has great communication with me and Maintenance is ok, they get the job done. Since they dont have offices on site, there are many options in paying rent which is nice. The only thing i did not like was that when i put in the application they were going to automatically deny me due to them not being able to reach the management company of an apartment complex i use to rent through who i had a small claims balance back in 2012 or so that says paid on my credit. I had to reach out to RM and ask what was taking so long and i provided the documentation saying i did not owe anything to that company. However, small hiccup and it was resolved. All in all, RM is perfect and renewing my lease is very contingent upon my family status and how much the rate increases.
They suck....I miss Kirby, the first Rhyne agent I experienced.... But Crystal....uuuggghhhhhh.... Shes such an unprofessional snob. I went for a showing and the agent I was supposed to meet was asleep in her car. Then Stephanie and Crystal, unknowingly were talking about me as soon as I left the office....I walked in on the blatant rudeness... Got denied for American problems, late rent... Poor credit. Guess it was a blessing in disguise... Cause they are horrible!
I have reviewed & comment once before ..I am very pleased with all from the rental office to the maintenance people..Thank you again Mr.Wes & maintenance crew for responding promptly to my issue the other day as you have done before.Happy Holidays to you all..Be Blessed 🎅🙏
I definitely wouldnt recommend renting through this property management company. When we moved in, the house very obviously had not been appropriately cleaned since the last tenants - gross corners in all rooms, stains on the walls, etc. When repair requests were made at the beginning of our tenancy, they were not fulfilled. We have been living with a broken window for about a year now that has been so since we moved in. Multiple outlets in the house do not work or are loose (whatever is plugged in falls out). Multiple repair men visited - only a few outlets were replaced and the window remains broken. Clearly no attention has been paid to the property. Recently I locked myself out of the house while, admittedly inebriated. I contacted Rhyne and the woman who answered was very rude. Not only did she send me unprofessional messages, she claimed she couldnt find me while I was on the back deck, left without finding me or unlocking the doors, and charged me the $100 lock out fee regardless. The only upside to Rhyne is the online payment system. Otherwise, having been renting for ~8 years now, this is the worst rental company I have experienced.
I have rented from Rhyne Management for over 10 years and they are fantastic. Always friendly and timely. I recommend them to anyone looking to rent or have a property rented.
There is a person working here called Crystal Howell - avoid if you are a student - I am sure you will find better places. Crystal Howell is the biggest disgrace in all of Raleighs property mgmt. community, and needs to be fired. She has preferentially allotted several apartments to her friends. If she is showing you the property, just run away. There have been multiple people, mostly students from other countries, suffering unjust discrimination because of her complete ineptitude. After several complaints about her to the management team of Rhyne, no action was taken on her. What she does: unjust charges, illegal notices to vacate the property, sneaking in your property, and sending non-verified lies as complaint letters on Friday evenings, so you cant talk to them when they are closed in the weekend etc. Crystal Howell is the biggest disgrace in all of Raleigh.
If I could give this place an even lower rating I would. I have never experienced such blatant discrimination in my life. Even though I fit the rental criteria, was told by the property manager Debora I was an ideal tenant and had a great rental reference I was STILL denied due to the payment history of my previous roommate WHO WASNT EVEN MOVING WITH ME! I am in awe of the lack of professionalism and I will be sure file a complaint. Absolutely horrible!
DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLEThey seem nice at first, their office staff is polite, but thats where it all ends. They just want your money. Lived at a Rhyne property for two years and that whole time they were TERRIBLE. Theyre maintenance crew is probably the worst - you may get maintenance coming to your unit 3-5 days after you put in a request, but dont expect anything to get done. They used to send this redneck jerk out, who would come in without knocking (I had to hide in the bathroom twice because he just let himself into my house while I was about to get in or was already in the shower) move things around, GO THROUGH OUR STUFF, and not fix things at all. Hed leave a note saying he was there but nothing would be fixed! Then they started sending out a guy who speaks very little english (he was very nice and polite, however) who couldnt clearly communicate with tenants. Several times I was told maintenance would be back the next day and they just never returned. We had a leak from our tub on the 2nd floor straight through to the living room below the first time we used the tub! It damaged the floor, the ceiling of our living room, and our carpet- and we were faulted and fined for it. They never actually FIXED it, they just carged us and left us with soggy carpet and a sagging, water stained ceiling! The whole subfloor of the building was warped and rotted and we were told there was nothing they could do how about tear the whole building down, because its a meance! The wood was literally ROTTING OFF THE HOUSE AND BACK PORCH. And the bugs!! oh my god, the bugs! The place was infested with fleas when we first moved in, and they tried to blame us! We had no pets, we had no belongings (my partner moved in before I and had just lost EVERYTHING HE OWNED in a fire.) Tried to charge us to get rid of the fleas that were there when we moved in. And the rest of the time we were there, we were PLAGUED with roaches, spiders, and centipedes. Spoke to maintenance multiple times and nothing was done, I was even once told to expect those bugs because we lived close to a wooded area. Uh, no, thats not how that works?! All but two of the windows didnt have screens when we moved in. We were told we needed to paint our apartment before we left, even though we did not paint when we moved in (and it clearly had not been painted before we moved in). There are a bunch of random lightswitches to no where all over the house. Most of their properties are NOT handicap accessible OR SAFE for handicap people! I am disabled and fell down the stairs in my apartment after the railing next to the stairs literally snapped off when I leaned on it, and Im not that heavy! Moving out was a nightmare. Their staff is not very communicative. While our leasing agent seemed at first like she was trying to be helpful and understanding, that quickly turned sour. They tried to charge us a full months rent as we left, we had to provide proof of previous communications with them that stated we owed half of that. We were told our security deposit would likely cover our last months rent plus most of the damages in the apartment -- then before we had even moved out, we were getting a bill for rent and claiming that our almost $900 security deposit wasnt enough to cover the so called damages in the apartment. Nonsense. All BS and nonsense. Rhyne is half a step above slum lord. I wouldnt lock my worst enemy into a lease with these people.
Make sure the owner is not charles grantham.
I lived under this management company for three years in an atrocious place (mold, rotting, no renovations, no amenities) and received horrible service (random maintenance men walking into my apartment with NO notice) from this Rhyne Management. They are a step above slum lords. Terrible!!!!!!!!
