I havent had a hair cut for about 5 years so there was alot to do, I explained my situation to LD, showed him what I wanted and he knocked it out of the park. I love the vibe and people here, good people and service and most importantly good hair work.

LD is a great barber and a heck of a guy. I’m a particular person with a difficult haircut. LD listens gracefully to everything I want, provides sound counsel that I trust and then delivers dope haircuts.

I don’t normally leave reviews of places, but I was extremely upset with the lack of professionalism from my barber. Rather than offer helpful advice about hair care, he consistently mocked my hair care routine. His communication style was so dry and sarcastic that I genuinely didn’t know how to respond to him when he asked me a question. I don’t know if he was just trying to be funny, but I found his behavior offensive, rude, and unprofessional. Maybe try some of the other employees, but avoid the crass older barber.

Ben is the best. No waiting; out in 30 minutes.

These guys are great. Ben is my barber. I have crazy/tough hair to cut -and he seems to intuitively know how to cut it exactly right. Hes been cutting hair for years from what I could tell. The shop is also pretty chill with a relaxed welcoming vibe

Update: I went through chemo so haven’t been getting my hair cut for a few months since I lost my hair:I walked in on Saturday since my hair is giving back and was treated like family. They asked me about my health and my dog, and how they missed me.These guys are the best!——————————-I’ve been going here for about 4 years and since the first visit I’ve had nothing but great haircuts. David is my regular barber and a great guy to talk with. He always asks if I want “the usual”. I’ve received lots of compliments from people about my hair over time.This a quality cut with individual style; not a basic 10 minutes or less chain-store cut. You’ll pay more, but people will notice.If you’re a regular, the staff know you by name and treat you like a friend. They offer beer, a shot, or water if you want. Comfy couches while you wait. Music is picked by the barbers. Basic interior, anything but basic cuts and fades.

I dont know much about hair or styling so I just came in, sat down, and asked the barber to do whatever he thought was best. He mustve done really well because my wife loved it. I had a holiday visit with extended family and everyone there loved it too. Ill definitely be going back.

I have received several cuts from Dapper, a few times from John and most recently with Jacob. All my experiences with each barber have been fantastic. Good conversation, chill atmosphere and most importantly a great haircut. I like the little extra touches like the straight razor neck shave.

Every single employee there is awesome. I love my visits there and John D is my regular barber and he does a killer job on my hair. Been loyal and will stay loyal to them. Thank you for the great service!

Almost passed this place up because their entry door sticks (perhaps because of AC use on a hot day) the person operating the front desk came out and hollered at me and I returned. I was offered coffee or alcohol in the early afternoon on a Wednesday, didnt partake in either.Got a haircut and beard line-up by David. Conversation felt odd, and he mostly talked about his pet squirrel. Wasnt offered my glasses back to examine the services. Haircut was passable. Beard line-up and neck/cheek shave was rough, and while hot and cold towels were applied I received no aftershave care otherwise. Neck shave wasnt close, and I will be having to shave again despite it. Back of neck was also shaved. All shaved areas still feel sore and rough ~3.5 hours later.Tried this place out on a fluke, and wont likely to be returning for the services offered at their price point.

The people are great. True craftsmen. Kreg is the best in the city. Nobody gets near the beard except my lady and him. She just gets a little closer.

Everytime I come here I get a perfect haircut. This is a place I can go and be confident I will be happy with my haircut. They take there time and do a good job. Other places Ive been they rush through so they can get to the next customer and I end up with a terrible haircut. I always have a nice time here and have nice conversations. Ive been coming to see Kreg for my haircuts for about 6 months now and he just delivers brilliant work every time that always gets me compliments. Theres a very relaxed atmosphere about the store that I appreciate and the staff all seem solid. Will definitely continue to come here and I highly recommend Dapper.

This place is amazing. Great barbers, friendly owner, beer or whiskey available for you to sip while they work their magic.The shop has good conversation and friendly honest vibes.I highly recommend coming in. Kreg was my barber for a straight razor head shave and beard trim. I am usually dissatisfied with a beard trim however Kreg broke this trend. He did a great job sculpting my beard while retaining length in the process.Top notch spot.

I took my son here and loved it. The shop was clean, the people were friendly to my son, daughter, and me. The price was reasonable for a cut of this quality as well.

I have long hair and need my ends trimmed — I live close and thought it would be quick — looks like a men’s barber shop, but, hey, this is PDX & thought any professional could handle it. Not so— the woman at the counter said, “we’re so old school that unless you want a buzz cut, we don’t do long hair.” Really? She prefaced her comment with, “we don’t discriminate, but. . .” I felt like people should know that this place turns people (women) away, if they have long hair — disappointing : (

Free beer and whiskey while you wait, throwback decor, great service, and I love my barbers work. I come once a month for a cut and style; once every two weeks for maintenance. I am grateful that this team of barbers survived the closure of Modern Man.

If your looking for a Beard Fade do NOT go to this place!! I just paid $25 to look like an idiot! The barber paid no attention to detail, he rushed through the cut and within 5 minutes my so called fade was done, and then the barber looked at me and said my beard needs to be longer to achieve a fade!! So why didn’t he tell me that before he fu#%d up my beard? I basically paid $25 bucks for a Session Beer which also tasted like Sh!&!This was the worst barber experience I have ever had, I would rather go to Super Cuts than this overpriced fallacy!

Nice people and good vibe. But I came here for a haircut, not some sort of manufactured experience. The people are pointedly overfreindly, talk too much, and the services are extremely overpriced! $28 for a #2 buzz cut? Forced 20% or higher tip?Yeah I’m not coming back.

My son got a gift card for $70 from his friend for Christmas bought in late October. He tried to use the gift card getting a hair cut just after Christmas and was told by the barber that they dont take those gift cards anymore because they are now a LLC. So they charged him $48 for the Haircut, plus my sons friend got scammed $70. I emailed the establishment from their website ... no reply. Nice ownership.Same building, same address, same staff, same name. Ill let you decide whether owners like that deserve to stay in business.

Incredible!!! Jeff is the best! I highly doubt Ill ever stray from this place. Beer, whiskey or coffee while you wait, always some great music playing & the greatest stylists/barbers in town. Impossible to beat.

Still just as good quality as modern man, some of the original staff remains and are still as good if you liked their work before. Looks like theyre still figuring out the decor but the service and cut were still just as top notch.

Attention to detail. Not rushed through. Price was a bit high, but well earned.Definitely encouraging my minions to switch.

Scheduled an appointment for 4:30 and show up on time to be told my appointment was at 4:00 and treated like an idiot and that it was my fault. Then the hairdresser David lillegard rushed my 10 minute haircut without hearing a word of what I wanted done and I ended up with a bert and ernie style haircut he called a fade and I decided to pass on the beard trim after seeing the results. Definitely recommend a different stylist as Ive had good cuts from there in the past but this was definitely not one.

Nice shop. Some of the barbers are hit or miss, but theyre all nice people and usually if youre specific about what you want youll get it.

It was an overpriced haircut. I liked what I got but I felt rushed out when another customer came is that was a usual. So I felt like I didnt get the best service.

My barber / shaver had a very gentle hand and it was a very wonderful experience but like every time Ive had somebody else shave they cant get as good as I do at home but I will be back.
