Recently moved to Portland and finding a barber is always tough. Lots of choices in this area. Booked online. Shop was clean and professional. Javier took my input and gave me a great skin fade. Support them or least give them a shot.

It’s been hard to find an A-1 barbershop in Portland. I highly recommend Rose City Barbershop, if you want clean and fresh cut with precision come here.

Jovian is the man, went to him cause my buddy recommended him to me and I dont regret it one bit! Its a little spendy at 40 dollars for a cut, but honestly youre getting quality for your dollar.

Ive gone to many barbershops over the years in Portland and RCB is definitely top notch. They are always ready right when I arrive for the appointment, never have to wait. I typically book my appointment with Vanessa and she does great work. The atmosphere is super chill.

I’ve brought my boys to Javier for years. He does a great haircut (all the folks here do, which we’ve discovered when we haven’t been able to get into Javier). They ask and listen to what my kids want, and make it happen. My boys spend their own hard-earned money to come here, rather than pay less elsewhere, because he’s earned their loyalty and trust.The vibe here is always positive and customer-centered - a local business owner who takes good care of his clients & works really hard. It’s exactly the kind of place we want to have thriving in this neighborhood.

I’m a regular client so when my one year old grandson was visiting and said “Gramps, I need my first haircut.” I knew just where to go! Vanessa did a terrific job. He didn’t cry, squirm, or protest. She was amazing with a small child. Five stars is one star too few!

Shout out to Jovian, and Vanessa who have gave me haircuts here. After years of terrivle haircuts, I am proud to say I have a great barbershop to get my haircut at. The service is very perfect, and the barbers do their absolute best to have you feeling fresh. They got games playing on the TVs, and even complimentary whiskey, and beer. They even offer military discount which I am thankful for.

Needed a haircut on a short notice and ran to Rose City Barbers because they were the closest shop. Javier, the owner, and his crew of barbers are the best in town and very personable. I’ve been going ever since my first walk-in appointment and have never been disappointed with their service. Their shop is incredibly clean, they offer good beer/whiskey with your haircut, and will make sure you leave feeling fresh. I highly recommend this shop and couldn’t be happier each and every time get to do business with Javier and his co-workers.

Super easy to see my barbers schedule and book an appointment online. The atmosphere is low key but really nice. My barber is awesome and Im in and out of there in less than 15 minutes. Great cut, great service, no reason to go elsewhere. The new owner, James, is a really great guy too. Hes a military veteran, which is a bonus to support his company.

Have never had a bad experience here. The online scheduling is super simple and each of the barbers really make sure you get the exact cut you want. The free beer is also quite awesome.

Javier Castaneda did a fantastic job transforming my mangy mane into dashing hairstyle. I opted for the cut/shave combo and had one of the most precise, smooth shaves of my life. I mentioned being a student during the course of our conversation, and Javier made sure I got a student discount while I was checking out. The Stylist listened to how I wanted my beard trimmed until he knew what I wanted. I was nervous when he started using a clipper but he did a meticulous job and made my beard look Epic. Still getting compliments from strangers. Nice razor neck trim.

After two botched haircuts elsewhere, I took my 2-year-old nephew in to get fixed up. Mike was our barber, and he was so patient with my nephew when he refused to wear the cape, and was overall very leery of the experience. Mike was cool and calm with the occasional head turn, and was super kind. I really cant fully describe our experience, but I can say the space was very welcoming, the staff were very friendly, and Mike did an amazing job despite the challenge that is cutting a 2-year-olds hair. We got exactly what we had wanted for him all along, and the lollipop and juice box at the end was the perfect final touch. We will definitely be back! Thanks so much, Rose City Barbers, and Mike!

I was looking for a short haircut and beard trim which is a tough combo in some places, but not here. I saw that one star review from that guy and almost took it seriously. Im glad I didnt. I called to make a reservation with Adam Duckworth, and told him what I was looking for and he made it happen. I look fantastic, and I hope this comment makes up for the one star guy which is (was) the most recent post as Im writing this. I wasnt rushed at all, and I could tell that the attention to detail was there with the way he slowly perfected the angle of my beard. Haircut looks excellent. Beard looks excellent. Ill definitely be recommending this place, and its in a perfect spot to grab a bite to eat immediately afterwards. Thank you!

Aside from the friendly staff and beer, Adam did an excellent job. I was very specific about what i wanted, and good tell Adam took pride in his work.

I have always just gotten a buzz cut, but I had been waiting for my hair to get just long enough for a change in style. Brandon was incredible, he took his time and gave me not only a amazing sidepart fade, but a heap load of confidence! New barbershop and barber for life!

This haircut was the worst experience Ive ever had getting a haircut. My barber was not only careless and ignorant about how I would have liked my haircut, but also rude. The very absolute minimum amount of words were exchanged, so few I had to ask for him to make it look a certain way, without him ever asking me beside at the very beginning of the cut. I tried making conversation a few times, but after an ignored handshake and a few one word answers from my barber, I gave up-- while he chatted with his co worker and his client... Even when I walked into the shop, I was rudely greeted by the barber who cut my hair, I walked in and was snarkily asked, do you have an appointment? which I did.. Adam Duckworth cut my hair, and while he did an acceptable job, I had to ask a few extra times for what I wanted. In addition, I was charged significantly more for the exact same cut I got a month ago, making sure to leave no tip. Ive never been treated anywhere close to this badly getting a haircut, and it honestly pissed me off for hours. That was my second and last time at dapper.

45 dollars plus tip and I looked the same. When she was finished I asked her if she was going to cut my hair at all. She said she was already finished. Barely combed through my beard, left stray hairs EVERYWHERE. My neck, my ears, my unibrow hairs etc. I went home and spent 30 mins cleaning myself up before my date that night. Garbage worthless waste. No I dont think its cool you offered me whiskey at 10 am and have a big screen with hip hop jams like black street that I love from my youth. Get a barber that understands how to clean up a mans face. Ill never go back here

I always love to kick of s Sunday with a haircut and a shave at dapper, followed by brunch at Pinestate Biscuits and then spend the rest of the day looking good and sipping local brews at Great Notion

Honestly, the cut wasnt what I asked for in the slightest, even though I showed pictures and explained what I was wanting. I specifically said no shaved sides (which I got shaved sides) no part (which thats now the only way I can style it) and squared neck (Which he used a razor for the shape it past my natural line, which means when it grows out its going to look like shi+). At a $30.00 charge I would have expected something that looked a little different the a fresh out of school Great Clips kindof look.

Been there twice. One good haircut, one not good haircut. Caveat emptor.

Probable the worst haircut I ever got. The chick was either lazy or incompetent. I had to give constant direction to someone who was silent and I still left with a head of uneven hair that needs to be corrected. Needless to say I am not going back.
