Needed a haircut last minute and could not have found a better place. Kat gave me exactly what I wanted! Solid fade, really attentive to sensitive skin, paid attention to everything I wanted done. Honestly just a great experience all around. Ill be back next week.

Cool antique themed barber shop

Had a really nice experience here with Shelly, she was patient and thorough. Great conversation, her easy-going nature helped create a comfortable experience despite the pandemic. They adhered to Covid protocols, no concerns there. Only concern was how much hair I still had on my head after the cut, usually it’s a bit less noticeable- had to shower up.

Found Shawna from an internet search for a hair cut I wanted. She exceeded my expectations. I am so happy with her attention to detail and effort she put in.

Booked a haircut over the phone for a fade but when I got to the barbershop I was told they dont do straight razor line ups... a fade isnt complete unless you get lined up around all the edges. This business should not be advertising fades when their stylists arent licensed to complete the job they claim they can complete. Wont be back!!

Bills been cutting my hair for years now and he always kills it. Whether I give him a little direction or I just tell him to swing away, I get compliments and feel good about the cut. Shelly and others here are always awesome as well. Highly recommend, worth every penny.

Booked a same day appointment and was helped by Bill. Stay away from him. Waited a half hour longer past my appointment time for starters. He mumbles and speaks very fast. I had to have him slow down and repeat what he said. Just wanted a buzz cut and my beard trimmed. His fades were uneven and messy. He reshaped my beard (didn’t ask for that) which has become more narrow, and likes to dig the clippers as hard as he can into your head. It seemed very rushed since he was running so far behind, so I was made to suffer. I’m sure any other stylist offers better service at this shop. Try them, just not Bill.

Shawna at Refuge Barbershop is the best! She always discusses options w/ me beforehand, and is very precise and quick. I have tried a few different variants of my hairstyle (undercut) over time and I can always trust her to make it look good. The barbershop is always clean and has low-key music playing; patrons seem chill and nice. There is no parking out front of the business, but there is street parking not too far away and the Whole Foods nearby offers free parking.

Small, personal, friendly, and skilled Barbers. They dont rush your cut, and they treat you as friends. They offer beer and root beer for your relaxation and comfort. They accept walk-ins and you can schedule too.

Hard to find, new locations signage is hard to spot, its on the door, nestled between the other shops on sandy, across from the Hollywood theatre. Friendly people, and well done hair cut. I set up my appointment on line, and I had no wait. Everett, my barber, did a great job with my hair (first haircut in 11 months)

I absolutely hate getting my hair cut because I have wavy/curly hair everyone does a terrible job. Kat listened to what I wanted and gave some good suggestions. At first I wasnt sure it was what I was looking for, but two weeks later and my hair has looked good every day. Id recommend Kat for sure.

I know it will sound foolish but a couple years I decided that for the rest of my life where I have hair on my head I will only have one barber...Shelly. She is a master. Literally. Certified Master.Shelly recently opened Refuge and she and her colleagues deserve to make it big. She is a consummate professional and a pleasure to talk to.Haircuts are $25 but it is the skill of the barber that makes it worth so much more. The finishing touches of the neck shave and eyebrow trim are always included. Go to Super cuts if you want to shower after to get rid of the hair they cover your body in.If you want a straight razor shave ($25) then you will get the finest here as well. I am always amazed how long a straight razor shave lasts. Typically I get 5 OClock shadow by 11am but this gives me at least a day and half of looking sharp.

Went to get my hair cleaned up and got paired with Kat. She is super kind and super badass. My hair looks better than I couldve imagined it would, she did SUCH a great job on it. Will definitely be back!

Disappointing to say the least. My 1st and last visit to Refuge began with me waiting for the stylist Bill to come out to begin the haircut. 15 minutes late Bill shows, very apologetic for keeping me waiting, smelling of cigarettes and nervously beginning the cut with out even asking me how i like my hair. So I manage to cut into his nervous chatter to let him know my preferences and as I look in the mirror at bill I catch him looking at himself in another mirror using his finger to clear his nose. This guy reminded me of a nervous tweeker and the end result haircut was a disaster.
