Really great experience with Don Irbys Transmissions. No one ever wants transmission problems, however, if you find yourself with them, take your car to Don Irbys. They are great.

Great place to go. They are friendly and our problem turned out not to be a transmission problem. They did what no one else had been able to do. They told us what the problem was and where to have it fixed. Would take any transmission problem to them.

I have been calling for 4 months trying to set up a appointment. Im told each time to call back in a month because they will not set a appointment for any day. I call back as advised only to be told the same thing. I call Ford and they say they are busy also and thats perfectly understandable but guess what they actually BOOK the appointment however many weeks out and are very professional each time! Its strange that a company refusing to book for a repeat customer they sure are staying busy for 4+ months even tho each time I call they say they are only busy for the next 3-4 weeks.

Have had 2 different vehicles transmissions replaced by Irbys. My current vehicle trans rebuilt at 131,000 miles. Today at 226,000 + is running strong... Every 25,000 miles fluids are changed by them and checked out. They are a wonderful folks. Professional, yet HIGHLY personable. They are family...Cant say enough... Everyone was super nice. I thought replacing a transmission takes a few weeks at some places, but here they took about a week and gave me a small discount to apologize for the wait. Very friendly, and the transmission check up went very quick too !

I took my 1978 Trans Am in for a transmission fluid leak and I couldnt be happier with their service. The staff is very friendly and very professional. I arrived at 10:00 AM and received a call at 1:30 PM with a diagnosis and a very reasonable estimate, and they said it would be completed by 4:00 PM - all in the same day! Dependable, fast, and very reasonable are enough to recommend Don Irbys Transmission service, but to add in friendly and helpful puts this business over the top. Great customer service !I bought a used Suburban with a revbuilt transmission from Irbys not long ago. Normally a warranty follows the owner. Not here. They transferred the warranty to my name without question other than making sure Im local. (Apparently Roanoke is local enough.)I traveled there this morning to have a shifting problem checked out. They knew I couldnt drop the car off and made sure to not keep me waiting too long. By the way,the couches in the waiting room are super comfortable and the shop cats are friendly.Turns out it wasnt a transmission problem at all but something else that was an easy cheap fix.Is much rather do business with these folks than any of the national chain shops and will travel to do so.

Don Irbys just rebuilt my Jeep Transmission. They were the most reasonable price/best warranty in town (and they were the only shop that didn’t complain about having to work on a CVT :) ) super professional, kept us informed along the way, and awesome customer service!

Been there 2 times in 2 years, told them to put all new parts in the transmission and they shortcutted and reused the still working parts on my jeep, it is still under warranty and it should be a priority to fix first
