Drexel Recreation Center Is a very beautifull Place for people Who loves sport ... Since 2018 go there ... Exellentπ₯π₯π₯πππ
Great gym, you can get some good runs here.
Good place to drain your energy with games and fun. They follow COVID guidelines very strictly.
One of the best facilities. Unfortunately understaffed at the moment.
Great facilities and as a Drexel dragon student am proud to be able to call this my recreational center. This gym has most everything you basically need, plus a full Olympic size pool (which I have yet to use) and a rock climbing wall (did start using). Large selection of weight machines and plenty of treadmills with a few tvβs sprinkled in with usually sports or news on. My only gripe is that itβs not 24/7 and sometimes closed for holidays. I would still probably pay to go here after graduation (hopefully soon).
This is definitely one of the best gyms in Philly. It has everything you could want: cardio machines, free weights and machines, an indoor track, an indoor rock wall, a pool, squash courts, and even classes and physical therapy and personal trainers.Iβve been going here more specifically for the rock wall, and it is a great place to climb. The staff is very nice and supportive if youβre a first timer, giving you tips on climbing and helping you pick out shoes that are right for you.
Love the squash opportunity and the community.
Best gym in the city.
Great equipment and cleaning staff are top notch.
Has a swimming pool, gym, squash rooms, ping pong tables and a huge indoor basketball court..Pretty well equipped gym too. + Locker rooms which can be rented or one time use ones... if you are a Drexel student you should not pass up the opportunity..
Hands down the best gym in Philly. This gym has something for everyone at any fitness level. There is an indoor track, a basketball court, squash courts, indoor pool and tons of fitness machines including free weights. There are also fitness studios for classes and a rock climbing wall.Ive tried other gyms across the city, including a popular chain and the offerings just do not compare. I would recommend stopping by for a tour.
Has a decent amount of equipment, but if you go after 10am you literally will not find any free cages or benches. They would benefit from taking half of the treadmills that arenβt used and replacing them with more barbells, cages, and benches. Also the mirrors are about 3ft off the ground, making them useless for anything besides standing exercises above the hips.
Good place for exercising, free to play table tennis tables at the front. Theres also a pool but with pretty limited hours
I get up at 415 am to get to this gym so I can get in my work out before I head to work. I have very little time to train, about an hour, so I need the gym to be open. Several times, at least once or twice a week, thereβs no one there to open the gym. There are about 20 of us all waiting for someone to open up and most of us leave because we donβt have time to wait. This is ridiculous and unacceptable. If I can get out of bed to get there to train, I expect someone to be able to do the same to open the gym!
This gym has state of the art equipment and services as well. Very nice facility with very friendly staff members. However, it does get EXTREMELY crowded at times
Great gym. Variety of equipments. Lazy staffs in the front desk. Theyre more interested in talking amongst themselves then scanning students in.. Especially the lady in the front. She cant be bother extending her arm longer than 2 inches..
Nice relaxing atmosphere. Clean bathrooms. Great place to get a bite.
This gym has every piece of equipment I ever needed. You also get unparalleled access to squash courts and equipment.
Tons of machines, what you want will almost always be open, or will open up pretty quickly.
I have not explored the entirety of the place, but it seems like theres quite a number of fun stuff to do there. It has a lot of indoor sports venues/equipment including but not limited to basketball, a swimming pool, squash, table tennis, gym etc.,.
Only 2 benches?? Only 4 squat racks? Expected more from the best gym in philly
Excellent gym in terms of equipment. Understand that this place is pretty huge. Only problem being is that for its size there are far too few lockers (and the mens locker room is tiny for the number of people the gym can accommodate). To make matters worse, patrons can rent lockers in the already insufficiently small locker room, which further increases locker scarcity.Frankly, this is a great gym in terms of facilities. Only problem is that if you cant change or find a locker to stash your stuff in... then none of that matters.
Just a gym for Drexel students (and those with membership) - seems to have all your usual gym amenities. Also has an awesome squash court if youre into that
Cannot accept payments on weekends. No weekend membership service hours. Stopped at front desk and was told it was my responsibility to maintain an active membership when I have been permitted to enter for the last several weeks despite my membership being expired. What do you expect when the place is run by a bunch of students?
I would give it 4 but I paid $150 for a 3 month membership so I can work out but play basketball mainly, but every single time I come to play basketball the courts are being used for the school valley ball or dance. And they do not send out memos that the courts will be in use so I drive all the way there just to find out I can play basketball..it really sucks, oh yeah one more thing they really need to wax their basketball court
Plenty of cardio equipment/weights/group classes, generally very clean, can get very crowded. The student staff is hit or miss with how helpful they are with information or enforcing rules, and the membership desk is only available for a select amount of hours on weekdays only. Overall a good value for whats available.
Great gym. Not enough power racks. Squash courts are nice though
Iβve been going here for 5 years. Itβs a pretty decent gym. It can be a pain waiting for people to finish using equipment. The equipment isnβt old, but I do with they add some new stuff.
The size of the free weight area is a joke for a large university with tens of thousands of students. Expect to wait for equipment at just about any time of day. There happens to be a second weight room but its behind doors marked varsity athletes only. Maybe they could take some of their advertising budget they spend on writing PHILLYS BEST GYM on SEPTA buses and divert it towards more equipment.
Great facility and many very helpful staffs!
I only use the pool, so take my comments with that in mind. The issues with the pool, that I have brought to Drexelβs attention, are that, people use the pool as a substitute for a bath.People come into the pool area, remove their clothes jump in, no shower rinse, no cap, so whatever is on them comes in the pool, hair care products, perfumes, sweat and other bodily fluids.Chlorine kills germs, but not everything and you canβt rely on chlorine to kill fecal matter...The showers are gross, but for me, no big deal, but watching someone on the pool deck, coming in from either exercising elsewhere or from the street, sweating on 100 degree days, remove their clothing and jump in, without a quick rinse, is something that makes me literally gag. Also, FaceTiming in the locker room, and use of cell phones in the shower area or locker room, is not enforced at all, despite knowing what can happen with these videos, and photos.Iβm sorry to be negative and whiny, but I have brought this to the attention of the aquatic director and membership services and either receive no reply or a non committal response of, βweβll try to address it,β but they donβt.This gym is close to my apartment, has a pool and would be perfect if basic health and safety standards were enforced.Too bad.
Great affordable gym and super clean!. Can get a short term membership even if you dont attend the school.
Here for the NiΓ±o Zach Copenhaver his going on..... Good Luck My BOY
Great my family works there ππ
Fun for recreational stuff, lacks in weight training equipment
The people there are super nice, everyone minds their own business only thing I would wish for is if they let you put your stuff down beside the treadmill they have rule against it for some reason, but other than that its pretty awesome, also the treadmills have like tvs in them or something so if you forgot your phone or just dont want to use it, just plug in your headphones,
Nice for outdoors activities, clean and organised
I love the group classes at the gym, there is a good variety of classes and they never get cancelled. Also for the public it is affordable for 3 months membership but expensive if you pay month by month.
It can get pretty busy depending on what time you go but other than that, its a fine place to workout
Best gym I been too for an awesome price. So many options of activities and equipment . And members are super chill
One of the best in Philadelphia. Opens early and stays open till midnight on weekdays. Equipments are good. Nice friendly staff. They have 2 squash courts,a basketball court, an indoor track and 2 pools. They also have a climbing wall. It can get crowded in the evenings during rush hour due to the Drexels student crowd, but you should have no issues finding a fitness machine. I especially like the group excercise sessions. They offer Zumba, pilates, barre, yoga and lot of other group exercises. Ive only been to Zumba and yoga and all the instructors have been great so far.The rec center also has personal trainers and diet and wellness consultants. Overall, a major thumbs up. A
Best place to work out and socialize with friends ππππβ
The staff time how long youre in the bathroom, if you exceed 5 minutes they come banging hard on the door demanding that you exit. Its happened to me and its ridiculous. Despite having found my happy place within the gym, the free weight section is far too small, many of the machines need maintenance and or replacement parts, they cant seem to keep the stair master running for longer than a few days, and the bathrooms/locker-rooms are not clean smelling. The irony is that the building is so grandiose from the outside, almost deceivingly. I would not pay to go here, and with Drexels budget, there is literally no excuse. The management is failing us and Im glad to be leaving.
I love this gym. Such a motivating spot for workout and staff are super nice.
Doesnt compare to Penns gyms so go there instead
The place gets really busy and they kick people out 10 minutes before they are supposed to close, but the facilities are good and new.
Its a really nice looking gym but there simply arent enough bench racks and squat racks for the number of people that go here.
One of the best recreational facilities in philly. Good gym good basketball court.
Theres a ton of equipment and weights to use, crowded at certain points of the day. The Rockwall is a great time.
Best multi-facility gym in the city. Affordable and cheap
I paid my membership several weeks ago and now the system still says that I still hv no membership. I tired to enter the gym today. The front desk/security stopped me. I explained the whole story and let her know its the systems problem. She was RUDE and asked me solve my own problem. Very unprofessional and impolite.
SCAM if you are not a drexel student. Dont bother.
The DAC has multiple smith machines, lots of free weights, most pulley machines you would need, and lots of different facilities (pool, squash courts, basketball court, etc.). If I were not in college, some of the disadvantages I could see with the DAC is no 24-hour access, theyre closed for a week around Christmas, and the hours are sometimes otherwise limited based on student schedules. For me, its not a huge problem yet.
Lots of useful equipment, but it does get a bit busy late afternoon.
Clean and open environment. Offers more than enough for your average person.
Best fitness place I have ever visited and worked out in.
Good gym, best for college students (Drexel has free admission if currently a student). Crowded in evening when classes get out
Awesome facility. Just beware of rush hours.
The best place to workout in Philly!
Good gym for general fitness purposes. Lots of treadmills, 4 power racks, 1 deadlift platform.
Best gym in Philly...let keep it that way
Clean, efficient and serves the community well.
Pretty dope, try and beat the crowd, squash courts are superb
Great Gym and facilities. Can get really crowded during peak times though.
Great facility with two basketball courts.
Four squat rack although only two bench presses. Plenty of free weights, machines, and cardio equipment.
The basketball court is so great!
Good gym, has good equipment
Love the indoor rock climbing gym
Great spot to get that workout in.
