Serious lifters: do not join. For starters, there’s a $120 (2 month) cancellation fee. Member for 5 months and I would not join again. There are zero flat surfaces due to wear in the floor mats, makes squatting and dead lifts very difficult and a bit dangerous.Equipment breaks all the time and goes months without being repaired. Since joining, 1 of 2 stair steppers has been out of order for 5 months, a pulley has been broke for 2 months, and my beloved hack squat machine broke two months ago and has not been fixed. Talking to other members, we all request maintenance constantly and nothing is ever done. Equipment is old and falling apart. There’s never enough bumper plates at popular hours. All this while maintaining a mask mandate and not requiring vaccination (like City Fitness).
I attend the One South Broad location and I must say that this is hands down the best gym that I have ever belonged to! The staff knows all the members by their first names and always has something nice to say when you walk in the door. Regardless of what shape you’re in, the staff is encouraging and supportive of its members fitness goals. Alyssa, the Manager is awesome! She’s so professional and goes above and beyond to make sure the members have a good experience at the gym and will reach out to ensure they are happy with their membership. Crystal is an excellent Personal Trainer. I have been working with her for a few months now and I am so happy with the results. She will push you to the limit but is encouraging as well. It is just what I need to keep me from quitting when it gets hard. I would definitely recommend this gym and the One South Broad location in particular.
5/5 would recommend. Very friendly staff, clean equipment, and reasonably priced.
Trainer cancels appointments last minute and often. will lie to save his own behind. support email was dead silent despite contacting multiple times. impossible to cancel. absolute scam. do not waste you money. hopefully other location are not as unprofessional and dysfunctional but my hopes are very low
WHY IS THE MUSIC ALWAYS SO LOUD. I have air pod pros with noise cancellation and I still have to turn the volume 75% of the way up because the music is so loud. It isnt loud all the time but around half the times I go it is. I dont think the front desk staff understand the music isnt for them. Almost everybody I see at the gym brings their own music so why does the gym have to play music loudly?
I have nothing nice to say about this establishment. Its cramped, a bit dirty, the bathroom is disgraceful and theres nothing special about the selection of machines. But mostly my issue is the absolutely terrible experience I had with personal training. My trainer accused me of being high on marijuana, pushed me too far so I was injured, mocked my diet, suggested I eat some pizza before I show up so Id have energy, and most upsetting, gossiped about other clients.
All the equipment I used was well maintained, freshly painted, and working great. The bench press was the perfect height and the hooks were exactly what they needed to be. All the weights were well organized and all the equipment was easy to find. The area was open, well lit, and well organized. Everyone there was also really friendly. I was a walk-in and the whole process was super easy. Thanks guys!
The club director at fitler square is rude. Great location, but they dont seem to care about the members.
Great place, and comfortable for gym . Been there for 4years, 💪💪
Great gym. Friendly staff, good group of regulars. Ive been at this facility for over a year and Ive grown to love it. I go there each morning between 5 and 6 to get a good workout in before work. I also frequent in the afternoons and on the weekends and regardless of the time of day number of visitors is manageable and I never have issues accessing the specific equipment needed. I love the spacious group workout room which provides a nice space to get a couple hundred skips done between sets. I also like the speed with which equipment troubles are handled... look, stuff breaks - thats unavoidable... but the staff their are quick to label the impacted device and its never long before the issue is addressed. Highly recommend... good value for money. Say hi if you see me there, Im the guy with the jumprope :-)
I struck out swinging trying to cancel my membership. I went in person and cancelled but two months later Im still getting charged. Strike one. I called and the person assured me they would handle it. Havent heard back. Strike two. I emailed support, but no response there either. Strike three. If you plan on cancelling within the next six months Id encourage you to get the ball rolling now.
Nice place with having all the necessary equipment. The place was cool enough and the atmosphere was full of motivation. Superb!!
Absolutely terrible gym. stinky bathroom, always filthy, personal trainers are arrogant and pushy and treat regular gym members like intrudersgo on yelp and you will see if you sign up they try to keep taking your money and make it hard to quit so not only horrible but a bit desperate
Always clean, well organized, friendly staff... I love this gym
Cool facility in an old multi story warehouse. Has everything you need for real athlete training. I am a 6 day a week OCR and rugby guy. $15 for the guest fee in Queens Village.
My favorite place when Im in town. Our business has maintained a group membership for I don know how long now. Some of the things that folks on here criticize I love, like the fact that its an old parking garage with the occasional leaky pipe. Never had an issue.
A lot of the equipment is pretty beat up. Almost all of the freeweight dumbbells have rubber missing from their coating. Padding on the exercise equipment is worn as well. Decent amount of treadmills, ellipticals, and exercise bikes. The mens locker room is god-awful. There are 3 tiny showers that stink of mildew. The air conditioner hasnt worked there for the 2 months Ive been going so the locker room is HOT, sweaty, and also generally smells of mildew. Sometimes I feel less clean coming out of the shower there. I dont think Ive ever seen anyone in that locker room cleaning.*in response to the owner, I look forward to seeing those issues resolved, particularly the locker room!
Updating my review and here is an unbiased review. The gym is mediocre but the people that go to the gym are friendly. There is a range of beginners to experience bodybuilders, and no one judge. Overall, not a bad gym just a bit pricier than some of the other gyms with the same equipments. Also, this wont get mention but only a manager can cancel your account.
Personal attention, special advice/suggestions and results when you work it!
Sometimes, things are broken or worn down, sometimes the pace is a little dirty. But, if youre looking for a fairly comprehensive gym in Philly, they get the job done. They have everything youd need and more and its rare that you wont be able to get a machine even at busy times
I’ve been to gyms around the USA and the world and this was by far the worst gym I’ve ever been to. The facilities were very poorly maintained, resulting in often broken equipment and a very dirty interior. Don’t even bother with the locker rooms or bathrooms. Worse than the facilities are the staff, who are not only un-helpful/friendly but negligent in duties. I witnessed one employee “cleaning up” by pushing stacks of 45lb plates off high racks so they fell to the floor from a distance. No wonder the floor has holes and the equipment is busted.
Excellent gym. A motivating environment and not a scene. The personal training staff is awesome!
The gym is great, but what an outdated process for canceling your membership! When I signed up at the gym, I was told after my first year my gym membership went month to month, and that I could cancel anytime. A year and a half later, I go to cancel my membership because I was moving out of the area. I couldnt cancel my membership on site, I had to call into a hotline for an external billing service. On the phone I was told calling in wasnt enough. I had to provide them with written notice...two months out! So I was stuck paying my bill for two more months! What a byzantine and antiquated process! How can you say membership is month to month after a certain point when it requires two months to cancel!? And whats the point of going to a neighborhood gym as opposed to one of the big chains if I have to deal with a external hotline for billing issues? Sadly, this final experience soured my opinion of Sweat Fitness
This location has everything for everyone. Free weights, machines, cardio, classes, and more. There is never a large crowd, and in the past 5-6 months I waited for a bench maybe twice? I have also had a personal trainer, and the meeting times are flexible, and definitely goal oriented. Dexter(the trainer I was partnered with) is always available via texts to answer any questions I have.Ive also noticed people commenting that this location is dirty and has rude/incompetent staff. FALSE. Theres always someone cleaning, and the staff is all smiles.
This is the worst and the baddest of all gym in philadelphia please dont get a membership there because they try to steal your money at any time of the membership. dont sign up without reading the contract, they take your signature and place it any other contract which will get you down the road its a scam and all the employees are trained in this scam
Ive been going to this gym for a few months now and I personally love it. It has its pros and cons. Some pros are the equipment are consistently in working condition and rarely go out of service, its spacious to accommodate a variety of workouts, plenty of workout classes to join. Some cons are minor in my opinion but may bother some for example the locker rooms need updating like big time. I shower at home so its whatever but if you wanna workout before work and shower there then you might have a problem. Theres a section reserved only for prime members which has alot of squat racks that the rest of are in desperate need of. The squat rack is the only equipment I ever had to wait for because half of them are reserved for prime memebers. And ofcourse the price might is higher than average. The staff seems friendly enough, the regulars are super cool and nobody judges.
I mostly only attend the spin and yoga classes so I cant say much about the equipment, but Ive enjoyed all the different instructors and styles of each those classes. The instructors are very friendly and knowledgeable.
Fine, people keep to themselves. Kind of dirty and the staff I’ve encountered are unfriendly. Be prepared to commit for a year. Won’t let you cancel your membership early.
Good gym. Could be updated with another squat rack and new bumper plates, but overall a solid value.
Overall a good gym though some of the machines at the Passyunk location need minor maintenance (worn pads, etc.)
DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM!It is impossible to cancel. After over a year of going through the cancellation process, they continued to charge my card. I went in person and was told my membership would last another 60 days per the contract. Charges continued into month 3 and 4. I went back in, and was given the run around. I called to have my membership cancelled. Again, I was told it would be another 60 days. Ok, whatever. 90 more days pass and I was still being charged. I then repeated the cancellation process of a 3rd time. This time when I noticed the charges on my account, I cancelled my credit card, and filed a fraud report. Now I am being hounded by debt collectors for the 5 months they continued to charge me.THIS IS NOT HOW YOU RUN A FAIR BUSINESS.
Would not recommend. They strung customers on for over a year with the opening of their One South Broad location. They were neither transparent nor honest about why the delays kept occurring, and they tried multiple underhanded tactics (like billing my card when I was on a freeze and having free personal training sessions expire before the gym had even opened. To give you an idea of just how underhanded, they used to have a separate Google Review for their One South Broad location but they de-listed it because of all the bad reviews.
This SWEAT is roomy. And has reasonable weights for lifting. For the price its really not bad. Its dirty & some of equipment is falling apart. But Ive been a member since 2011 & havent once thought to go looking for another gym. Biggest qualms is: there will be clean towels up front maybe half the time, theyre always running out. And the SWEAT X thing ( a premium version of the same gym with more equipment) just steals space, equipment and cleaning attention from the rest of the gym.
Solid, no nonsense place to get in a morning workout. You will have the place to yourself any day before 6am (Shhh, Don’t tell anyone!)
Least favorite of all Sweat gyms in Philly. Unhelpful, uncaring, and often incapable staff (who, incidentally, rarely pick up the phone). At least its big.
The classes Ive gone to have been excellent!
Friendly enough, clean enough, and a good mix of classes with good instructors.... Oh, and rarely crowded.
Standard gym with a good variety of classes.
Lots of machines. Great location!
Large gym with modern machines.
Please make the cancellation process less painful.Update: Thanks for taking care of it.
Have been a member for close to ten years. Couldnt be happier
Horrible trainers, price too high for the service
Great workout environment!
Chill gym with no jugement. People keep to themselves.
Im glad my $45 yearly enhancement fee is actually going to real enhancements like, dripping water from pipes above, a missing roof, and a roped off section from the missing roof.
My issue has been resolved!
Awesome staff and classes
Light weights. Rude staff & owner.
I like the gym is clean and organice
Great facilities.
Odd layout but gets the job done
Great gym

A little exercise on the trip
