Great Location, facility and coach- enjoyed doing a morning walk-in during my trip to Philly this weekend. Covid safe- really appreciated that proof of vaccination is required for entry. Will was awesome and the community was very welcoming. Thank you for the great experience!
Unfortunately you need to be vaccinated to attend this gym. I went inside and spoke to a trainer looking to sign up.
I’m in the middle of my OnRamp & I’m loving it! I’m super thankful for Fabios attention to detail on the lifts. I’ve been hesitant to start CrossFit due to the reputation of rushing technique/movements & causing injury. Friends would tell me stories about their training & it scared me. But Fabio is patient & explains everything & takes his time not to rush us along. Thanks so much! I’m wishing I had started sooner...Also, it’s clear they have made huge upgrades due to Covid. Their diligence isn’t lost on me. Everyone is wearing mask, things are being thoroughly cleaned, the gate is open & the fans are running to increase air flow. And pods are more than sufficiently distanced. Thank you!
1. As long as you call, they have excellent communication. I cancelled my membership when COVID case counts hit a new max and it was really, really easy. I just called and its over. Ill be back when the plague ends.2. They really are trying to create COVID-safe spaces. Theres ~6 of space between any two workout spaces and the workout spaces are about 7x7 which feel about as safe as is humanly possible in a gym. The owner(?), Kevin, tries to follow best practices, too, with airflow and everything.3. The onramp fee is deducted from your first renewal period which, if youve been doing crossfit for a while, makes it only a waste of time rather than also a waste of money. This is better than every other gym Ive ever seen with a mandatory onramp.
Great place to get in shape. The workouts are challenging but fun
Awesome coaches and nice people to train with
Really great workout today with CF South Philly. Coaches were really fantastic, provided a lot of instruction, and helpful tips for the barbell movements and the WoD. Nice facility with room for two separate classes going on. Would recommend dropping in or joining if you are in the South Philadelphia area.
I was just here for a competition and the staff and facilities were so amazing. Both my partner and I have shoulder injuries that developed after we signed up to compete. My partner emailed them asking what we can do, and they informed us we can scale the work outs, as long as we are okay with not getting scored for it. When we arrived on competition day, they immediately were asking what we needed, how we need to scale it, and what wont hurt. We ended up scaling 2 of the work outs with different weights and/or movements. We were so grateful that they were willing to accommodate us and allow us to still participate
It’s a great facility with great coaches. I stopped by as a drop in on a day in which Andrew was coaching. He and the members were more than welcoming! The way that the class is split up with a warmup, stretch, and the actual wod is similar to what my gym does and you don’t feel rushed throughout with more than enough attention from the Andrew. Would definitely drop by again!
I started here 4 weeks ago. I’ve already seen such an improvement with my stamina, body tone and posture. Great work out atmosphere. The staff are great and work with you. I’ve had shoulder problems in the past and they have accommodated me into the work out regimen considering I can’t do some movements. The classes are fun and you’re always motivated to do better each time...one of my best decisions this year!!
Edit: first of all, bike Lanes arent really about convenience as much as they are about safety. I saw the signs the day of your event and they were not signed by any City officials and some of them had the wrong date completely. They also had a time that ended at 6 but you were blocking the bike lane for hours after that. I do not trust you even though your response was fairly straightforward and nice.... I think you are lying about being respectful of the bike lane (For example, I saw a class running drills in the bike lane just this week). there is a large amount of bicycle lane activists in the city who are keeping tabs on you so stay the heck out of the bike lane. These people think they can block the bike lane with tents, tables, equipment and people. They were told by the city to stop and they went right back to blocking it the same day! They are bad neighbors
I moved to FA after starting Crossfit at another box - I’ve been at FA for about 6 months. They’re truly the best! All of their staff is so welcoming & helpful. No one ever makes you feel like a dummy for not understanding something (even though you’ve been told 100 times). I can’t recommend them enough.
Awesome trainers and environment to get in better shape with nice people
Been to several Crossfit boxes since I started in early 2010 and this ones at or (very) near the top. Huge membership that all seem to know each other. Great variety of classes (love the Olympic lifting specific ones), solid programming, strict standards, well-developed on-ramp process (even for us veterans). All-around great CF box!
We dropped in to this gym while we were in town for the weekend, and I am so glad we did! The gym was organized and clean, the class started on time, the coaching was excellent, and the community was so welcoming. Next time we are in the city I know what box to go to!
Friendly and superbly run box. Great staff and brilliant locations. Daytime sessions are sometimes almost one on one, mornings book up pretty quickly
Great place. Was a member a while ago and one of their staff members was a stereotypical cross fitter and really cocky. Everyone else there were incredibly nice, and helpful.
Dropped in for a WOD while traveling on business. Crossfit South Philly has a friendly crowd, good box, and excellent coaches. I was particularly thankful to the coach at my 6am class who gave me some tips on my clean that really helped. Ill definitely visit again next time I am in Philly!
The people and coaches are awesome. So friendly everytime I drop in. Would recommend anyone joining this gym or dropping in if you are in town
EDIT for note to owner response: Yes I WAS there. At the location on 11th Street. Please dont pretend that you dont know what I am talking about, or that I must be mistaken or making this up. You got a bad review and need to realize that not everyone likes your gym or has a positive experience there. My partner and I took the Ramp Up classes and they were held on the weekends. There were two other people in our ramp-up as well. She was a member there for about a year but has since canceled her membership. Just because you cant find me by this name doesnt mean I made up the experience. In fact, I purposely dont use my full name on here.Do buy into the CrossFit lie. They dont care if you have previous injuries or if youre older. They get off on you wanting to puke and feeling like a failure. I literally felt worse about myself when I left and had major anxiety about the next weekend trial class...and this was only the trial classes. The 24 year old trainer, with no injuries, didnt care that I had arthritis in both knees, no acl and torn meniscus, I had to do box jumps and double under jump rope anyway, no modifications, no excuses. I left limping and feeling worse about myself and did not go back.
Fearless Athletics has been my CrossFit box for over a year now and I will always consider this my second home. Ive been able to develop my skills as a CrossFitter here with the great staff, owners, equipment and training planning. I highly recommend Fearless Athletics as your next physical fitness provider-RobM
My sons liked this place to work out in.
The owners and coaches are great. There is some immature clicks there but other than that a great place to get a workout in.
Dropped in to CF South Philly twice while in town for a conference. Great box. Owner Wil was very friendly and helpful - quick to reply to emails and at the door when I walked in. Box is great - big space, two garage doors, plenty of equipment, and showers, too. Members were of mixed athletic ability and friendly enough once I initiated conversation. WOD on day #1 was Helen (interesting in 88 degree heat!) and WOD on day #2 included a cool clean complex that challenged this seasoned CF-er. Coach Gary was awesome. Location was a SUPER easy/safe 1 mile walk from the convention center area (I stayed at the Courtyard Marriott). Would definitely recommend this affiliate and if Im ever back in Philly Ill be back!
I dropped into this gym while I was in Philadelphia during a road trip. This was easily the friendliest gym Ive ever dropped into. Its a great facility equipped with all the crossfit tools. Coaching was fantastic, Wil was very technical and had some awesome programming. All the staff and members were very friendly and welcoming. This was also one of the few places in Philly I didnt have trouble finding a parking spot. To top it all off the drop in was FREE and a shirt was only 15$Awesome crossfit gym, certainly recommend it to anyone in or travelling to the Philadelphia area!
Awesome people, great vibes. My crossfit gym for however long Im in Philly.
I recently completed my on-ramp program at crossfit south philly which was phenomenal in a way that it covered all major movements and other compound movements that made me prepared for my regular class. Their program is very structured as it exposes complex movements gradually in a period of 3 weeks.Jean and Jeff, who were mentoring the on-ramp class, are very knowledgeable instructors who watched the form and motivated me throughout my on-ramp. The other good point I like about Crossfit South Philly is that their daily program is very structured and has a good amount of warmup. That really helps ! ... I am not jumping into something with a cold body.Coming from a non-athletic background, i firmly believe that my regular classes will definitely get me towards my short term goal of losing weight and a long term goal of becoming a pro-athlete. Haha, may be i am asking a lot but I will try my best. And yeah ... I just started their regular classes which kicks-a$$ way more than the on-ramp classes, which is GOOD!!! :) Id highly recommend this facility for everyone.
Great workout today with good coaching in a clean well equipped facility!
Sick of waiting for some guy to finish on the only available free weight bench or sick of walking around aimlessly listening to your ipod wondering what to workout on next...I was too. Crossfit and Fearless Athletics provided me with the motivation and instruction I needed to take my workouts and my body to the next level. With the trainers and other members there to provide you with encouragement and instruction you will be empowered to do more than you ever felt possible or ever thought youd try, i.e. hand stand push ups, turkish get ups and double unders. You will make new friends regardless of whether you want to or not and you will look at your previous workouts as a thing of the past. Take a peek and ask some questions.
This team cares, their equipment is exactly what is needed to bust you into shape
Best gym and workout in the city
