(During COVID) visited Salon for much needed Pedicure. Nails done by Pauline. Relieved to see the staff comply and insist customers to comply with social distancing and handwashing. Pauline even helped me move my chair back as far as possible from her.

Although it has been a while since I have been at Essence, I swore I would not go back. Last time I was there I was charge more than the time before. Was left with no choice, couldnt get appointment asap with any other salon so I went there yesterday. I had a gel pedicare and callus scrub, my toe nails were unpolished. Dina did a wonderful job, even though she cut my nail way to short and it is now hurts to walk. They charge me $68.00. I use to pay $45 at this salon. I stopped by another salon this morning and they charge$45.00 for the same service. This settles it I am not going back, not for any reason!

My first visit here, I decided to get a soak off and a manicure.Isnt it simple?She didnt even let my nails soak for long before starting on my manicure. She said she was done, but I could still see the acrylic on my nails. I told her, and she filed it down a little before saying, OK, Im finished. Again, I can see that there is acrylic left on my nails; how she doesnt notice this baffles me. She only cleaned my cuticles and that was the end of it. I expected to get a little more than that for a $30 manicure.Worst nail technician ever

Very clean and relaxing. Great prices. Excellent leg massage with the deluxe pedicure for $46. Massage chairs are really nice and tons of color options. I always get the gel polish pedicure.

Normally I do not leave reviews but I had to this time. I have been to many nail spas and this one is thus far the worst. I picked this place based on the reviews. I had the deluxe pedicure and just a regular manicure. The lady doing my nails was horrible and rude. You would think for the most expensive padi that they would do more, literally the lady massaged my feet for like a minute. As for the nail polish, it lasted an hour after I left the place (and I literally didnt do anything). Even my $1 nail polishes last longer to be honest. Seriously dont waste your time and money on this place.

I love going here! The girls are so nice, friendly and are so personable. My nails look great! I got dip and Im going on four weeks! No chipping, cracking and have not fallen off.

They werent the friendliest group, but they did a good job on my nails and they were affordable. No complaints. I will probably return.

I went here they told me they had time for me after I explained what I wanted done. Then told me I need to wait 30 mins additional for my nails to done. At first I decided not to wait, then I changed my mind, they told me they gave the spot to someone else in a matter of a couple mins. No one called on the phone they just didn’t want to help me. I went here because it is the closest shop to my home, but now I will have to go somewhere else and pay for more polish so that my toes and nails will match. I paid 70$ just for a pedicure and eyebrows. Smh

I have been going here for months now & absolutely love it. I have been to almost every nail tech here & have had great sets done by all, however I have personally loved Kayla’s work & have been making appointments with her since I was able to get service from her. Kayla’s work is phenomenal, I recommend her to everyone who asks about my nails! They also have a wide selection of colors to choose from. The prices I feel are reasonable based on how good my sets turn out. You definitely get what you pay for, it’s worth it. Very clean environment as well from what I’ve noticed. I recommend making appointments, I’ve noticed they’re fairly busy & it’s the best way for you to receive service instead of walking in & having to wait until someone is available or testing your luck.

Although I am like 4 days late I finally have the time to review. This place is AMAZING. Great atmosphere, they really take their time with their work. I drove from Woodbridge just to get my nails done and was EXTREMELY satisfied. I love my nails & toes ❤️❤️💕😌💞. Thank you so much, I don’t like to consider myself a difficult person but with it comes to my nails it is hard to satisfy me so from the bottom of my heart I thank you Pauline :). Essence has been a reliable salon for me for a few years. They are following the regulations for covid and ensuring safety all around.

Highly upset with the lack of customer service! Two days ago was my first time at this salon. I got gel nails with French design and gel polish. This morning I noticed the white gel polish on the corner of my thumb had Significantly peeled. After work, I went to the salon and asked for the nail tech I had. I was told she was not there today and was asked what’s wrong. I told my story to the tech who asked. She proceeded to tell me, “we’re busy today, you can come back tomorrow”. This was hours before they closed as it was only 5pm and they close at 8pm today. They were completely unwilling to fix my nail and hastened me out the door. I don’t know if the polish didn’t cure correctly or if it was bad polish or what. I’ve been getting my nails done for 18 years now and I’ve never had this kind of reaction. I will not be going back here.

Love this place! They always do an amazing job with my nails. Only place I trust with my brows and they do what I ask to a T. 😊 Got an amazing gel set yesterday that left me speechless 😍. Very clean place with great customer service. Love all of the ladies here! Would definitely recommend making Essence your permanent spot!

Original tech made my nails entirely to thick, and horribly shaped. To remedy, she overly drilled, which cleared out the paint from the cuticle area. Then she piled up another two coats which made the nails thicker. Owner/or manager had to re-do nails. Process was over an hour and a half. Things happen, it’s was a mistake, it is what it is .. understandable.. until ... At the end they charged me $50 for a dip manicure.. not a full set .. just a dip manicure .. and had the audacity to ask me why I didn’t leave a tip. Maybe $50 is their cost for a dip manicure, but most places charge around $35 for the same service, take half of the time, and do a much better job.

This was my first time visiting this salon and I am more than pleased with the services I received. Ann did a fantastic job on my nails and my pedicure! I will be back!❤️

I randomly found this place in my area needing a new nail salon and tech and today I found her! Kayla was absolutely AMAZING! I will definitely be making my appointments with her from now on! She did exactly what I asked and it turned out beautiful!!! Id definitely recommend her to all my friends! THANK YOU KAYLA!

Lee was great! she was fast without making me feel rushed and while also paying attention to detail. she actually listened to me about the length of my nails, most techs pressure me into making them longer. She was extremely friendly and very nice. the salon itself is super clean and nicely decorated. their prices are a little higher than other salons in the area, but the results are better. i will be back!

Kayla Ngo is my personal therapist! I completely recommend her as a nail tech. She’s so easy to talk to and unlike other nail techs in different salons, she genuinely cares about how you’re doing. Anyways, onto the nails. I asked for an almond like shape that I found from instagram and she did them just like how I wanted them! I personally recommend this nail salon because of the lovely ladies that I come and see.

I had the best nails services here, Pauline and Kay did my manicure and pedicure. They are soo good. My nails came out perfect. Overall experience is A+++. I will comeback here again for my nails.

Came here to get ombre pink and white full set. Nail tech proceeded to tell me that the set I wanted was $70. Like I couldnt afford it. Also as she began taking off my old set of nails she was literally trying to RIP them off my nails. She grabbed the sharp tweezer looking nail tool and dug it so deep that it cut me and my nail started bleeding. At that point I got up and walked out and ended up going somewhere else. Total waste of time.

The WORST place ever!!! They made us wait for 1 hour and 20 minutes ( when they said we only had to wait 45 minutes, because all the personnel were busy), to let other costumers go before us (and only one of them had an appointment!!), then just the person who was supposed to work with us was feeling sick and had to leave!!! Very unrespectful in all ways!! ( they just said sorry, and turned around!!!!) To be honest they don’t even deserve a star!! 😡

I am very picky about my nails. I have been to atleast 10 nail salons since I moved to Gainesville and was disappointed time after time until I found essence nails. Pauline and Kayla are nothing short of amazing. Not only do they have a fantastic selection of color choices, this is the first salon I have ever been to where the gel nail polish hasn’t peeled within a few days. On top of this, they really understand the meaning of customer service. I am so happy I found this place because I had just about given up on the salons in the area.

Got nails filled here, they looked mediocre when complete, my pedicure smugged immediately (when she assured me it was dry) & my nail broke the next day in my gel fill. I callled for them to fix the issue and they claimed it was not their problem, this is what 65$ gets you.

I love this place, theyre quick, efficient, and professional. The person (E C) who left the review with ONE star is a complete jerk. First of all, maybe your eyebrows were jacked to begin with, for all we know, the tech probably did the best with what they were working with. Nothing pisses me off more than emotional customers that take one experience and just immediately damn a business as the worst place in the world. I think its one thing if youve been there multiple times and consistent had bad service but that doesnt seem to be the case.And TIP: if your esthetician or nail tech DOESNT ask you how you want your brows/nails done, then they DO NOT know what theyre doing. Why would you just ASSUME someone wants something done a certain way? I literally am in the service industry and I ask EVERY client, even if Ive been dealing with them for YEARS if they want any changes before we begin the service! And i, along with my clientele, consider myself a GREAT artist. Consultation doesnt make you incompetent????

Worst nail spa on the planet. Went to get my eyebrows done and came out with uneven eyebrows, no decency to even make my eyebrows look symmetrical. Didnt even to bother to fix the issue but quick to talk about me in their native language. Literally had to go somewhere else to clean up the mess this dump created. Not cool...do not go here unless you want unprofessional services or lopsided eyebrows. Theyd actually get no stars to -10 stars if allowed by google. Tip - if youre asked how you want your eyebrows done then you know from the start that youre at the wrong spot, great artist know what to do without asking you.

I went here today and I requested nail polish change with gel the lady quoted me 2 different prices and then she filed my nails and said that she made a mistake laughed at me when I asked her to fix her mistake and gave me the manager number and they didnt answerMy nails are trashed and no one fixes their mistake I am angry

I went to then twice and each time my gel polish came off after the second day...also the tech cut my toe nail too short and un-even
