Nail tech was really nice but nails do not look professional. I ended up getting a fill in (set done primarily at a diff salon) because I took my daughter to get her nails done & boy should I have waited. Lady gave me a dip fill in even after I told her it was originally acrylic. Both of our nails had lumps in them and nail polish was done poorly. I think they are only good for mani and pedis.
Isabela did a wonderful job on my French pedicure. She took her time to do a great job. I get nervous when it comes to allowing techs to remove cuticles, but she was gentle and thorough. She really transformed my toes! I’ll definitely be back to request her.
Think twice before wasting your money here. Completely and utterly disappointed and disgusted with my service. My wife and I came here right before our two week honeymoon in a complete different country. I was willing to overlook the fact that the prices were OUTRAGEOUS. For 2 mani-pedi gel manicures plus 1 gel extension we paid $250 plus tip. After over paying I was upset but willing to let it go because I thought I got a great job done on my nails. Fast forward to a few hours after and I noticed some chips in my manicure and so did my wife. Upset that we didn’t have time because we we’re leaving and couldn’t call to have them re-done we went about our business and decided to not fuss over it. Now fast forward 6 days, I was scratching my head then *POP* the gel extension fell clean off on to the floor. A simple activity nothing crazy just scratching my head. Mind you my wife and I have just been relaxing the entire trip. No extreme sports yet just a total of 2 hrs at the pool. Now I have to spend the remainder of my honeymoon with a missing finger nail. I will never be going here again and I do not suggest you go here either. RUN AWAY
The services listed in this salon are falsely advertised. It is clear, after a year of coming to this business, that their staff is only qualified for a manicure and the application of either a regular or gel polish. Anything past those services and you will be sorely disappointed. This business is in need of nail technicians and professionals who have years of experience with nail care. Otherwise, your nails will suffer and your time as well as money will go to waste. If you must go here (out of convenience) ask for an appointment with Cleo and avoid the male in the back for any pedicure services.
Been coming here for a few months, since my original nail salon closed shop after 20+ years. I am very satisfied. I usually get regular pedicure and gel manicure. Busy during the weekend so set appointment but if you dont mind waiting 15 minutes they will accommodate you. Plus bonus is they have a customer loyalty card.
Worst place ever. Overpriced and the quality of the acrylic is terrible! The lady that did my nails didn’t do the shape I asked for and she actually caused cuts in my finger whilst filling my nails. The pedicure lady was great.
I went for mani-pedi, service was fine. But I felt a little discriminated. She was doing my nails and she suddenly stopped and asked me to pay first. And the I checked that they didn’t ask even a single person to pay before continuing the service.
I highly Recommend this place. they treated me VIP 😍. The lady’s were very friendly, and attentive. Love the vibe, and the quality Of their products.
I got Powder Dip done here. Did not stay for even 4 days. They asked me to comeback and get if fixed. Even though I has appoinment, I had to wait for 20 mins. The lady who did my Powder Dip just lied saying that she never did mine. Also, kept on saying that I do not think it is powder dip. How strange!! Just a week after almost it started chipping again on other fingers. DO NOT GO THERE FOR POWDER DIP!!!
Booked a 7PM appointment, wasn’t seated for my services until 7:57 (DID NOT EVEN GET ALL THE SERVICES I BOOKED). WalkINs we’re seated before people with appointments, as people came in with appointments they were asked to come later, and still wouldn’t be ready for them. I went to get a Mani and Pedi, only left with a butchered gel mani. The artist did not even clean my nails, cut them, they are uneven, didn’t file them. Only took off my previous gel color and added the new color (which was the color I didn’t not ask but at the time of realizing I was fed up with even being in there). I asked will I only be paying for a color change because that’s all she did. NOPE! Was charged $38 (full price for a gel mani) for my nails to be hideous and not even properly done. After that, I thought I’ll get my pedi done since that was another service I booked but nope, walkins all took the seats up and I was furious so I didn’t want to wait again. I use to be a regular here. But I will not be returning. Do not waste your time/money here.
The worst pedicure ive ever gotten in my entire life… i wont upload a picture because it’s embarrassing
Very unprofessional. Wait over an hour even if I have an appointment without being notified. Nail polish did not stay in one day. Total a waste of money….
This place.... $50 for a gel pedicure and $35 for.a gel polish change for my nails - ok But the customer service should be better. I dont mind tipping, but dont tell me to do it like I am obligated to do it. I mean this man really stood there holding my ccard telling me to tip the girls. Very Rude! My nails and feet came out nice though. But I wont be back there either.
The atmosphere is very nice but the quality of my nails do not match the price I paid fo them. My nail broke less than a week after I got them. Nail design did not match what I wanted but I just brushed it off my shoulder. They give you a membership card with cool benefits of free manicures and pedicures but I don’t think I’m going to go here again. Not for the price I paid for a nail to break off and I have never had that happen to me.
It was good, service mani and pedicure, timely, pro. Fresh feeling.
This place gets super busy but they do a really good job!
Cleo and crew were top notch! Thanks for the mani pedi. You made sure we were perfect and stayed after closing to make sure we felt important. Treated us like kings! Quality, cleanliness, professional, personality, and pleasant to work with. Thanks so much! I will be coming back. My new mani pedi center!
Christy, Cleo, and Linna are amazing! I live in Brooklyn and come all the way to Jersey City because the customer service and atmosphere are unmatched!!
Excellent service
Clean N Nice.
APPOINTMENT ONLY!!!! I cannot stress this enough. The sign does not say walks in accepted. I made an appointment on a Sunday morning at 10am for a 330 eyebrow wax. Thats right, I made an appointment for EYEBROWS! And I was seated right away, done within 5 minutes.
I have been going to this nail salon for a year and a half and it is my favorite in the Grove Street area. It is very clean and quiet. The owner and staff are friendly, professional, and take the time to get to know you without intruding. The services are a bit pricey, but well worth it. They take their time, never rush, and always make sure they are precise with their work. Manicures last a full week. The massages are excellent. This is a wonderful salon and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great local spot. Its true that you cannot walk in and be serviced. They keep a meticulous appointment book and honor their appointments. Just because they look available doesnt mean that they are. Its a small place. I also highly doubt the woman was rude to the other reviewers. I have witnessed the owner refuse people because the salon was legitimately busy and she is always kind and offers to make an appointment. Dont waste your time with the other nail salons on Newark st. They are dirty and terrible.
Please make sure to make an appointment... it’s totally worth it! They take their time to really do a good job, plus long massage and perfect nail polish painting.
Prices are extremely high. They charged me extra for a nail polish that had base coat in it, for it to chip off the same day. While I was there, I seen a worker move the protective plastic cover to the pedicure basin and dumped mopping water down the drain. She then mopped the sink to dry it down, and then put the plastic cover back on. She never used bleach or any antibacterial solution to disinfect. I will never go back to this place. I miss the previous owner Kim so much. I doubt they will remain open for long if they keep taking advantage of their customers by over charging for cheaper products
My go-to place for gel nails. They dont have hundreds of colors, and I prefer that. The colors they have are perfect and I always receive compliments. Added bonuses: mini shoulder massage, kind staff, and longevity of gel! These last 3 weeks with just some light filing (I prefer my nails short). Price is perfect, the best you will find in the area.
Loveee my new hands
Im picky about nail salons and I love this place. Clean venue, friendly staff and they do a great job. Highly recommend making an appointment here.
LOVE this salon - best nail place in Jersey City. Yes, you do need to make an appointment for sure, so plan ahead. BUT Its SO worth it. They take so much more care in doing your nails compared to other places in JC. Their regular manis also tend to last over a week for me, compared to a few days from other places. Pedi have comfy massage chairs, leg/foot scrub with no extra cost, and their massage skills are wonderful. Went in today and already made an appointment for my next visit :)
One word: UNPROFESSIONAL!! I used to love this place until I started to realize how horrible the customer service was. Every time I wanted to book an appointment it’s always a 3 day wait. And today on a Friday, i walk-in and was immediately told they were booked for the WHOLE weekend until Tuesday?! Really?? without an apology and btw, I had to ask when was the next appointment instead of being told “but we’re available Tuesday”. It was obvious she was annoyed and doesn’t have the customer service skills but damn lady! nobody likes to work but we do it everyday right?! But I bet if my skin matched hers, her energy would be better smh. My last time ever walking in that place! I’m done.
Love the place BUT there is no chance for a walk in or get same day appointment.
Appointment only. They take their time and show pride in their work. I really like this place.
Great manis/pedis here. Kim runs an efficient shop. She is so busy that she often cannot take walk-ins. Plan ahead and make an appointment or walk down the street to the next nail salon to be told the wait is short and then hang around waiting for hours. Polite, helpful staff.
I’ve been to this place a few time s and they were always great. I called to make an appointment and was told they were fully booked. I gave my number in case something opened up later in the day. Time past and since I was in the neighborhood I decided to stop in. It was totally empty except for one person, while two nail stylist weren’t doing anything. I asked if I could get a regular mani/pedi. I was told I needed to have an appointment. I let them know I had called in the morning and left my name in case anyone canceled. She said they were still fully booked. I asked if she could recommend another place in the area. She said no! I asked again if she could please recommend another place because I desperately needed a mani/pedi. She said no sorry she didn’t no any. She really didn’t care about me, it seems it was more about sending someone to their competitors. Which mind you was only a block away!!!! Also, they would have never called me even if they had a cancellation since they never call to confirm appointments!!! They lost me as a customer and New Zion Nails on Bay St has gained one.
Never have I written a review good or bad. I am new to the area, so naturally I looked at prior to reviews to find a salon to get a basic pedicure. I arrived at 5:20PM to Nail & I on a Wednesday. They had 2 customers, 6 nail technicians, so when I walked in and was told they could not do my pedicure today because they were booked, I was very taken back. I have never in 20 years of getting pedicures been turned away, 2 Hours prior to closing. I have never been turned away 15 minutes prior to closing. I understand making an appointment at a Spa, but not Nail & I. I will never return here as I am still confused and would hate my denial of services be because of anything other than being overbooked.I would like to add that I called the Nail & I, 20 minutes after I left the salon to see if they had availability for a pedicure tonight and they said yes what time did I want to come in. I told her I find that all very interesting, since I was just turned away in person. She had nothing to say, but thank you.
This place is the best! I never ever leave reviews but there are a lot of nail places in jersey city and I always have a great experience here. Sonya is very thorough and never rushes through my mani/pedi. The owner is always so nice, welcoming, and hospitable. Definitely recommend it.
This place is amazing!! Everyone is extremely professional and very detailed. I moved from Jersey City however I travel to this location because they are the best!
Wow! I felt taken care of from the moment I walked in until the moment I walked out. Great pedicures for me and my boyfriend. Will definitely be back for our next treatments!
Love coming here to be pampered my only complaint is I fine making a last minute appointment difficult cause people tend to make appointments weeks in advance and it fills up quickly especially in the summer time
Called continuously 2 open days straight...no one answered the phone...
Very nice people..love them all!!!
I just walked in there and was refused service. Apparently they are appointment only. I found it to be rude, and turned me off. Not going back. Ever. Customer service wise, you should try and fit people in as best possible.
Meticulous, clean, friendly, responsive, relaxing. Decor is wanting for the spa pedicure prices, but close your eyes, and it is so worth the price.
My favorite nail salon in JC. Definitely make an appointment - they fill up.
Rude and unprofessional, I walked in and asked for service and then was told that it’s by appointment only. The owner doesn’t even look at you while talking and has a rude tone.
This place doesnt want new business. She was very rude. I walked in to inquire about services and before I could ask, I was immediately told that they dont do walk-ins, fine. Then she told me they dont do acrylic nails. I didnt want acrylic nails, I wanted gel, she made wrong assumptions. Im new to the area and am looking for a new place that would have my business 2 x per month.....Im still looking.
Very thorough, the flipside of this is that its not a quick nail trip - but its worth the wait.
Very rude employees, I walked there, sat down Amd waited for my turn, 2 mn later one of the employees asked rudely: What do you want?!!! I said I’m here for manicure please, she replied: no! You need appointment!!!It was very impolite amd embarrassing, I will never go there again!
Great place for nails/ gel and thorough pedicures. They can be quite understaffed though so expect a wait/ to be turned away if you dont have an appointment.
Just came from nails & I fabulous job, my feet and hands feel just great, good service, great price👍just need to work on the rest of the body.
Ive had enough mani/pedis to say this place is better than anywhere else Ive ever been. Not only are the staff attentive, friendly, and professional, they also paint nails beautifully and gave me the best gel mani, and classic pedi! I came in with no appointment on a Saturday around noon and they were very accommodating. As the day got busier I saw customers get turned away so go early! They knew I was visiting and even offered me a free pass for the subway one of their regulars had passed on to them. Two thumbs way up!
Possibly the worst experience ever. I had an appointment for pedi and gel mani. When I arrived I was told to pick a color for pedicure, which I did, then they changed their mind and told me to pick a color for gel mani first because they didnt have that many options available and I wanted them to match. Fine. Meanwhile, the girl working on my pedicure clearly didnt want to be there - rough treatment, doing the minimum possible, the whole time huffing and puffing and displaying some sort of attitude (not sure why, this was my first time there and I didnt know anyone). I asked for OPI because I like their polish, and was given a selection of colors which turned out to be other brands. My pedicure ended up lumpy and shoddy looking. Long story short - I let the girl finish my pedicure and got out of the place - clearly, customer service wasnt a part of the job description for people who work there - in which case I would rather give my money to a more deserving place. Two thumbs way down.
Great service, clean, and reasonable prices.
Just walked it. It’s literally empty. They said that they can’t accept me at 11:00 am because I didn’t have an appointment. It was confusing because some other girl didn’t have an appointment and was going in.
Nice and kind
My favorite nail salon in town. Just make sure to call for an appointment!
Quick & Efficient!!!😊
Terrible customer service.
Very poor and bad service they wouldnt take care of me they said I couldnt get a pedicure I will never go there again
It is essential
