My parents have lived in this community for almost five years. The management and the maintenance staff recognize my sister and me whenever we visit, and they look out for my parents. Furthermore, the building is well kept and maintained overall. My parents keep to themselves primarily, but my mother has made a few friends with neighbors. Those neighbors that I know of are kindhearted, compassionate people.I have told my parents to keep me up to date with everything, and if anything ever goes awry, they know my sister and I will handle it. The good thing is in all these years my parents have not had serious issues and that brings me peace and joy that we have not had to move them elsewhere. Aging parents can be an adjustment, but knowing my parents live in this building is a bonus. I hope the quality of Somerset does not decline.

My mother has lived here at Somerset for almost 4 years. The staff is wonderful. They are patient, caring and professional. She is very happy living here. The Maintenance staff are honest and trust worthy and do great work. Whenever she has had an issue with something not working they come quickly to fix the problem. You could not find a more honest group of people to work with. I am so happy I found this place for her it gives me such peace of mind.

I had a wonderful one year stay. The staff was always friendly and the neighbors were as well. Maintenance was always accommodating and dependable. I grew to really like some of the residents many of whom are parents or relatives of classmates or neighbors I grew up with.The apartment is in good condition. I loved the privacy and view from my deck. The amenities are great and the location is the very best in Hampton being in the Central Coliseum Business District.Although I had to leave due to personal reasons, I would certainly return.

The unit that i live in is nice since I cleaned it. The worker that fix things seem to come right away when you call. The elevators & hallways smells really bad most of the time. And the head man who looks over the building seem to be very nice, however he steal out of the units . Its also very clear that the people running the office care about anybody.beside all of this I have seen worse in other places. But Ive only been living here a month so hopefully thing will improve

I love living here.. excellent management. Ms Muriel is a Superb mngr.. Maintaince is very efficient and responds quickly., office staff are kind and very efficient.. The building is always clean and secure for our safety..This is a excellent choice for Seniors with limited transportation.. apts are well maintained and grounds are always manicured.. There is No better place for me than Somerset for seniors..just wish we had a pool...

Management is and have always been very poor at this complex and the sister complex. They do not see these seniors as human, but as numbers (money). The things they should be concerned about they are not! Management keeps the external appearance of the building up, but management spends less money as possible for the interior upkeep of the place (I.e. the units). The foyer area in the main entrance is nicely kept, but the foyer in the secondary entrance is poorly kept. Management has a poor attitude and treat the tenants like they are beneath them or they need them. The tenants are afraid to speak out and say anything for fear of retaliation because they have no where else to go.

My mother has called this place home since they opened the doors and they always have treated her like family. The staff look after her.
