Where do I start. The advertised house was nothing like the photos, a complete lie, because it was photos as another property to boost the current one. Absolutely disgusting all through the house, as well as broken sink vanities and baseboards that are safety hazard.I don’t even want to think about that kitchen filth it was so bad. All though the Pandemic has “peaked” you think sanitation would still be top priority as I feel like I can’t stress enough how unready that house truly was, (we toured the house because it was deemed move in ready)

Always did a good job, kept me in the loop of any issues, and got back to me in a timely manner whenever I had concerns.Robert Bunnell is working the sale of my house and likewise, he is very attentive and responsive. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Townsend in the future for anything property related.

If you have a bit of love for your home, DO NOT let this company manage your home. I personally wouldnt do any type of business with this company or even let anyone i know do such things but This review is for home owners looking for a property manager. This company had my property for three years. During this time, I paid for repairs at least every other month something was wrong and inspections were being done at least yearly. I come back to my home last month to a full roach infestation, repairs to which I paid for previously not done, the house looked abandoned to say the very least. I go to my first initial thought and contact the company and even sent them pictures of the things they said were repaired and were still damaged and the condition of the home via email; their response to me was we will reimburse you the house cleaning fee. I just laughed because even if only wanted to go by the last deposit I did to them for a repair for the roof was $1300 and when I got my house back it had a tarp over it. Its been now 3 weeks since I spoke to them about this and a little over three months since I got my house back, I have yet to even see my $500 that I kept in funds in the account(which was meant for repairs but I had to do a deposit everytime a repair was being done) nor the reimbursement. I feel sorry for you if youre an owner and this is the company you chose to manage your home. Just take a look at the pictures and find out for yourself, thats how my home was returned. All I got back was my set of keys besides this mess.

I had an issue with my central air and heating...I called and left a message to management about it...Not only did they respond quickly and had the company call to see what time would be best for them to come out...they also ensured that I was able to register for the maintenance portal for any further issues!!! The gentleman that came out was efficient, professional, and resolved my issue...He even replaced the battery in my smoke detector which was super sweet because he didnt have to do that!!! Thank you for letting me know that quality service, concern, and responsiveness still exist today!!!

I have rented homes from various companies in multiple states over the past few years. Currently we are in a property that is managed by April. This is by far the best rental experience we have had. When we had a small issue with someone doing work on the property she was all over it. I truly appreciate her professionalism and hard work to ensure we are taken care of.

Codey was very friendly and professional. I was having issues with my ceiling fan, bathroom fan, and silverware drawer. He was very efficient and all work perfectly now. Since receiving services, I recommended him to all my family and friends. Will definitely be using him again!

For over 6-years, Townsend’s April Meza looked over our house and she consistently treated it as one of her own. From our first tenant, through the recent sale of our home, April was dependable and professional. We could not have asked for a better property manager!

Maintenance team was outstanding in repairing any issue we had with the rental property. The worker was a professional and made the repair look easy.

For the time being management, they have been good to me. Long as the rent stays fair and none of that yearly increase stuff theyll have a resident out of me for years to come I plan to be here for a long time otherwise. The Ireland Drive apartments are old so insulation isnt great so expect a fairly staggering electric bill during the summers in particular. However there are ways to work it down abit. Other than that apartments are fair and well home is what you make it so make it nice. / That time just came 24 Aug, 2021. It was fine untill going from $425 to $525. Ive always paid on time never had a complaint and well here we are. The apartments are far from worth the asking price which is $625 so becareful of that. The apartments are worth $425 to $450 at the most. Anymore than that and you can find a well managed, well insulated and more nice apartment and probably a second room. If you are in need and these are the apartments you can get into then I suppose do what you have to during these hard times however money is their prioity here I suppose. Keeping renters second.

I found that they are very prompt and I love the idea how they ask you for five dates and time that you would like for them to come out when there’s a problem with plumbing, electrical or whatever the case may be they are prompt and on time. they actually leave it up to you but I’m grateful to have them working on our behalf.

Townsend has been one of the best rental companies Ive leased with. Their staff has been very responsive and Ms. Pam has been amazing. Shes always pleasant and ready to help when I call. I TRULY appreciate all you guys do. Thanks so much for making my experience as pleasant as possible.

Mrs.April was awesome with The Who move in process even with covid restrictions she still made me move in great and awesome. Whenever there was a maintenance she made sure it was squared away. Lived at Tallywood Arms for quite sometime, which is a quite great place to live. However the Lawn Maintenance guy does NOTHING when it comes to maintenance of the trees that lay on your balcony or cuts bushes and grass near my building. He leaves piles of straw where bees and wasp nest in a field children would normally play in. I’ve witnessed him talking aggressively with tenants. If there are any reports of these things they go on deaf ears. I still have a creepy grounds keeper who watches my wife and doesn’t do the job and he is supported by Townsend

Best management company I have ever worked with. My house was rented within two weeks and I never had issues. Ms. Brittany Ladwig was great and she walked me thru the process without any issues.

They been very nice to me with service. Everytime I needed something they help me out,a nd when there tied they will get back with me on a timely manner.

Do not ask them to manage your property. This review is for that alone, unsure of real estate brokers. We did not get any reports ever of damages or work orders. Our first property manager with this company forgot to schedule a previously paid maintenance on our new AC system. This was stressful because you kbow how expensive this is. She asked us what she wanted us to do about it. Answer: schedule the dang appointment! Second property manager: We had so much trouble with our neighbor and the property manager made it WORSE. Imagine how hard it was when we returned to our property and a dispute between neighbors. Damages to our house that they call wear and tear resulted in us paying out of pocket for broken items. If we ever leave again I will not use them, they dont care about your biggest investment!

I feel like they are taking advantage of tenants i have been living in my apartment for 5years and it takes forever to get my work done and when you put in too many property melts they stop putting work into the property i have a mold issue and they said they were not going to put anymore work into my apartment and it causes health issues and i told them that and they said they were not going to put a moisture barrier in i feel like they really dont care about their tenants they just take our rent and trying to get anyone to call back takes forever or sometimes i dont get a response

I submitted a work order of 05 July, the work order was acknowledged on 22 July only because my wife called to submit another work order. When we call we routinely get sent to voicemail, we leave messages and never hear back from them. Stay away from this company if possible. I know it’s hard because they are one of the largest in the area, but they have poor customer service.

I’ve been in my place for a couple years now and it has been a pleasant experience. I love the apartment and the area is clean and peaceful. The apartment manager April Meza is awesome. Very caring and professional. Great sense of humor and easy to communicate with. She definitely cares about her tenants and enjoys what she does.

I can’t even explain how many times I have called the office and left voicemails for a return call from my property manager and her supervisor with no return phone call. I haven’t even been given a courtesy call for someone to let me know my issue is being worked on. Smh never again Townsend

Communication is very important when renting out a property, especially when I no longer live in the area. I am giving them a 1 because we cant do a 0. They told us we didnt make 4 times the rent because they wouldnt count my income (spouse) an extra 4000.00 a month . That was for a 700.00 house of 1000 sq.feet. We rent a house now 1400.00 in plush area 3000 sq.feet. have been 4x months now. You all are pissing off military left and right .glad we didnt rent with you after all. Look at your reviews they say it all!!!!

Morganton Crest Apartments- they are okay, the kitchen could be remodeled the wall paper in there is very outdated! My only issue is the property manager April she never answers the phone what so ever!!

Rented a apartment that have problems with the bathrooms backing up in the storage(washer&dryer) room haves a bad odor smells like sewage,plus some of the tenants have a bad. Smell when they turn the water on in the master bathroom, my apartment flooded 5 times in 3 years they trying to charge me for the plumbing bill...$865..if I could I would post my pics and some of the neighbors that have had problems...my rent goes up every year starts off $650 now $700..i will never use Townsend property management dont like returning calls or emails...Helaman Ct and they try to evict a tenant saying she complain to much about the apartment shes renting...

Her responses are curt and she appears irritated when a question is posed that she believes the previous manager should have briefed us on. I trust that senior management will speak with this employee to ensure this service is not replicated.

I am a home owner and use Townsend Real Estate for their property management service. My property was vacant for about 6 months before if I talked to April Meza at Townsend. I told her that the company we were working with before was doing a poor job and she took over with no issues and found a tenant in no time. Looking back, I should have went to her to begin with.

It was my first time moving to North Carolina and I had come across a rental I really liked located at Tallywood Apartment Homes. I had signed a binder (which I NEVER came across in rental apartments) to hold the reservation for the apartment and I had paid my pro-rated rent despite the fact I had signed no leasing agreement. The next day, 18 hours after signing the binder, I canceled out on the apartment after finding out there were 2 sexual assault cases reported in the complex. I was told I would get refunded my pro-rated amount of $289.59; however, not my $675 because they had pulled the keys down for those 18 hours after I had signed the binder! I basically lost $675...lesson learned, dont sign a binder with this company until youve been well informed that you will NOT get your money back after signing a BINDER.

There were mouse droppings when we first looked at the rental property and we were told they’d take care of it. Upon signing our lease, we were told we were to handle pest problems. I thought nothing of it as I was assured they’d take care of what we saw in the walkthrough.As soon as we signed the lease, it’s like the house started falling apart. Not to mention the pests.. There was a roach nest which they ate through one of the cabinets in the kitchen to get out. There were so many mice, you could hear them in the walls and they chewed holes to get in and out.I had a ferret who liked to go under the cabinets at our old place so I put a camera under the cabinets at the new place and there was thousands upon thousands of mouse droppings.When our front door knob broke, they tried charging us for a whole new door. After that, we didn’t even bother trying to contact them with any issues with the house because it’d somehow be our fault and or responsibility so we did things our way anyway.We had a month to month lease with them as my husband was in the process of being medically discharged from the army and we didn’t know when the orders would come. We discussed this with them upon signing the lease and they said it would be no problem as long as we show them the orders.WELL a year later, we get orders and we let them know a month ahead of time (as that’s when we were notified). All of a sudden, it’s an issue and we argued with Troy back and forth until we said screw it, charge us the extra month, we’re done with you guys anyway.In our lease agreement, we had to get our carpets professionally cleaned and I did so the day of moving out. I didn’t leave the receipt behind on purpose because this place was clearly shady and I wanted it for MY records and I’d just email them a scanned copy.A month after moving home I get something in the mail from Townsend, just stating what they took out of our security deposit.They charged us for a carpet cleaning... I immediately tried calling Troy and when that didn’t work, I emailed him about it and sent him a scanned copy of the receipt I received from the carpet cleaners.Troy, who had no problem arguing about us paying for an extra month, ghosts us. I called and emailed several times and was ignored every time, even when I left voice mails.I still want my money back from that carpet cleaning and I want everyone to know how they take advantage of military families.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Sarah has been absolutely awful. My boyfriend and I fill out an application $60, we were told the house was on hold for 2 weeks. They send us 1 email to sign and get back. 1 single business day goes by while we are extremely busy getting our affiars in order to move (and thought from THEIR email we had the house secured) and we get a TEXT, not even from Sarahs number but from an automated messaging system you cant even text back, saying someone else in one single day has viewed the house, applied, gotten approved, signed the binder fee, and paid for it. We were never even told there was someone else applying. We put a deposit down on moving trucks and already had furniture that was supposed to delivered in 4 days. Do yourself a favor and work with a company that will properly communicate and cares about its customers. If anyone asks, we would never recommend this company and especially Sarah to anyone.

The first couple of months they were fine since we didnt have any issues with the property. Late summer our roof began leaking so we put in several maintenance orders. It took multiple work orders over 3-4 months for them to get someone out there to actually fix the roof and patch the problem. Two weeks after they fixed the roof we noticed mold which is no surprise considering the leaky roof issue. They sent a contractor out, but I had already cleaned everything and there was no mold to test. Three weeks later we still hadnt heard anything back from our property manager about the mold issue(he claimed they were going to wait until after the new year since mildew/mold isnt bad for your health). By that point our bedroom furniture was completely infested, clothes, chairs, etc. Not once did our property manager sympathize, apologize, or offer to help us relocate. They didnt acknowledge it as an issue until two different contractors came in and told them that the mold issue was bad and we had to relocate. So for you and your families health and safety I would not recommend using Townsend Rentals.

If you want to be completely robbed, rent with Townsend. We rented two houses from them. At one point, my husband was deployed and our garbage disposal was smoking. Not only did no one answer out emergency maintenance call for another 5 days after, when the maintenance tech actually came out, I was charged $90 for something that I can not physically do myself. They will charge you for made up things, and take all your money. We had a terrible experience with property manangement anytime we needed assistance getting things fixed at our house. I went without heat in November for over a month, inside the house was 50 degrees and no one would return calls or assist me. I ended up calling heating/air on my own. Even to the point where April (a property manager), after them not getting our deck fixed (which had screws sticking out and loose boards), and then charging me for our garbage disposal, I stated that I should not be expected to do the same level of maintenance on my house as a Plummer can, and she replied with “well, I’m not a carpenter, and her guy said our deck was fine.” She also showed us our second house prior to it being listed, and the sheet that she showed us stated that rent was $1,050 and when we went to sign the lease rent ended up being $1,250. She said that it was an “error from the ladies at the front desk.” Although his was sketchy and clearly not “just an error” we said nothing and signed the lease anyways because we had just did April’s client a favor by moving out of their house so that they could move back in, due to foreclosure on their current home. All of the things in that house that April promised would get fixed, were not, and we ended up getting charged for them.I never write bad reviews, and my husband and I were always respectful, asking them for MINIMAL things throughout our time renting for them. Do yourself a favor and go with ANY other property management company in Fayetteville.

Well, it only took me two months of using them as a property manager to realize that this was a mistake. Poor communication: we had no idea they were going to replace or repair anything until we saw the rent was $200 short for that month. Rent that we count on to pay the mortgage on that house. Poor judgement: the items they replaced and repaired werent even broken. The detailed summary of repairs listed nothing that actually required service of any kind. Meanwhile, the one thing that was broken still hasnt been replaced. They rekeyed the door, after the crappy copies they provided the renter with proved difficult to use. The keys we gave them were juat fine. AND they couldve just replaced the crappy copies. But no, they rekeyed the frikin door. Abuse of contract: they have displayed absolutely no intention of checking or, at least informing ahead of time, the owners. Its in the contract but youd think since Im the actual paying customer that theyd have the common courtesy of keeping us informed or asking preference. Nothing.Guess Ill start getting ready to be a land lord in 10 months. I will not be using them.

The website was easy to navigate

We had the pleasant experience of living in the Fort Bragg, NC area for the past two years. We originally signed a lease directly with the owner of our chosen property and they in-turn signed the home over to Townsend for the duration of our lease with the awesome Property Manager, April Meza.Property Managers have the challenge of dealing with unique personalities from both owners and tenants. It is a skill that is not easy to come by but April does it without blinking an eye. She provided us with consistent exceptional service throughout the entire two years. There was not one email or call that was not responded to promptly or one issue that she did not make sure was handled appropriately.The processes that Townsend has implemented throughout their organization work. It is clear that they are the industry leader in their field. I highly recommend owners and tenants alike to reach out to Townsend for your property management needs. Theyve handled my property sense 2013. They never check on your property. They let the tenents destroy my property, costing me over thirty thousand dollars in property damage. I would never recommend them to handle any property.
