Penny and Ivan are hands down what makes this complex awesome. So helpful and caring. They truly care about you and to make your experience better. Sadly we left due to a job relocation but we loved it. It is hard to find staff who truly care about their residents and they do. I will always recommend them and the villages. Neighbors are great too!

The most memorable experience. The warming welcome from Natasha is what peaked my interest. If the Agent is this excited, thorough and knowledgeable, then this is the place I want to be. The entire move in was so easy and Penny was very comforting, attentive and addressed all my concerns. It has not been a week yet, but I feel like this will be my home for a while.

We are closing in on the final 2 weeks at The Villages. Its been memorable and I would like to commend the staff here, especially Natasha and Ivan. Ivan is great at fixing things in a timely manner and does it with a smile! Natasha is one of the friendliest people I have ever met and truly cares about people, its evident in conversations with her. Know you will be missed yall.

I recently signed a lease of renewal for another year for The Villages a couple of months ago. I really have enjoyed my time living here, while I financial prepare for homeownership. The staff have been great with their communication regarding community changes (yay SMART home technology!) and a huge help with any questions or concerns that I may have. My favorite parts of the apartment I reside in are the large windows, allowing for ample natural lighting, and the screened-in balcony. It’s beautiful! Looking forward to another year here…May God continue to bless you.

I didnt end up leasing with the Villages because I found another apartment that was better for my commute, but this complex was on the top of my list. The grounds are beautiful and I liked the floorplan of the 2 bedroom we toured. Natasha is a wonderful and attentive guide. Very nice, I was impressed with her service!

Ive been a resident of the Villages for a couple of years and my stay have been excellent. Penny and her staff are a great team and genuinely care about the residents. They have always been courteous and kind and willing to help resolve any problem or concern. As far as maintenance, I havent had many problems since Ive been a resident (estimate of maybe 3 or 4 issues), but each time Ive put in a request, maintenance responded quickly and repaired/replaced the defect. With a quiet neighborhood and extraordinary staff, I would recommend the Villages to anyone moving to the Charlotte area.

Has a former resident who lived there for nearly two years I would describe the place as solidly decent. Not bad, but not great.Maintenance is pretty quick to respond to any requests however I was never impressed with how well they did the fix. Seemed to favor quick and dirty fixes.Complex is priced decently for what you get but always ended up feeling like there was a million small things that made me enjoy it less. They did offer screened-in porches which is something that I have yet to see on any other apartment complex which is something that I really enjoyed.I felt pretty safe there and you could likely do a lot worse.

Penny and her team have been stellar: prompt responses, genuine care for residents, accommodating to changes & needs, open to feedback. If you are authentic with your needs, Penny does a great job looking at potential solutions for everyone involved. Additionally, her team has a relatively low turnover rate--a good indicator of employee and resident care.Beyond her team, the apt has exceeded my expectations despite personal changes. Ive had only minor issues and minimal frustrations after living there 1+ years. Only complaint was paying for valet trash (which I know MANY people love) and crowded parking lot (which was infrequent). Liked how easy it is to get on Light Rail, 485, or anywhere in South Charlotte quickly. Overall, great place with great people and Id recommend it.

The appointment was scheduled we waited for more than half and hour the leasing office was closed and they did not answer our calls we had to leave the place without seeing the apartment. Why to schedule the appointment if there would not be anyone to show the place. Total waste of time to drive 50 miles back and forth.

I lived in The Villages for two years before buying a townhome. The office and maintenance staff were very professional. I loved the huge, big trees! My apartment was move-in ready when I arrived. No major issues whatsoever. The Villages are super convenient to everything -- 485, light rail, and tons of shopping. It has a nice pool, valet garbage pick-up and reasonable rent for South Charlotte. I highly recommend! Good value for your hard earned dollar!

Update on 8/13/19:Penny has really been great about helping us out! She has remedied the tow issue and we are so grateful for that. She really cares about her residents and is why I will continue to recommend this place.Update on 7/30/19: We have an obnoxious neighbor above us, but Penny has been very considerate of having that taken care of. Now with that said, my car was towed the other night by the towing company they use, because I did not have a tag on my license plate. I had NO idea that my sticker was gone. Had I known, I would have parked in the designated area until it was corrected. When I called to have this remedied, by money off my rent, because it was $175.00 fee, I was told they cannot do anything about it. That it was noted in our lease that they tow in the complex. I have just never lived in a complex that tows because you have a missing sticker on your car or it is expired. Or even can warn you before it comes out, so you can be vigilant to move your car if you have an issue. I was told that it was in our lease to be vigilant about our tags. I was told it is to keep the complex looking nice... when does anyone look at a sticker and think oh that looks trashy. Now a flat tire on a car that has been sitting for a week, yes tow it. The tow company is beyond sketchy, and has horrible reviews online. I am not someone who just has expired tags on my car. All I want is a refund for this rare, unfortunate occurrence. I am just disappointed by the way this was handled. My boyfriend and I toured twice and Penny is phenomenal! She was so sweet and honest and the apartments are the cutest! Whether we live there or not I’ll always recommend it just from that experience alone.

Ive lived here for two years now and plan to renew my lease for a third. I really like the place. The apartment itself is great. The neighborhood is nice. And the area is safe. I regularly walk the dog at night with headphones in and have never felt uncomfortable.Im writing this review though to highlight great work from the excellent maintenance staff. On Sunday evening, my air conditioning stopped working. Starting to sweat, I called the maintenance emergency line to report the outage. In my message, I stated that I knew it was late Sunday night, after 5 pm, so it was fine to call me back on Monday or whenever.I thought that was it, but a maintenance tech called me back in five minutes and offered to come straight over. In no time, the tech came over and fixed my AC. It was back up and running within about 45 minutes of me making the call.Thats excellent service. Im super thankful for the quick service. I genuinely expected that I would just have to open the windows and turn on the fan and sweat it out until Monday morning. Not at The Villages! Thanks again.

I have lived here a little over a year and I love it. The customer service level is amazing. The maintenance staff is always on point about almost immediately taking care of any needs. The neighborhood is quiet and well kept. I like that the neighborhood is kind of off of the beaten path in which unless you know its there you wouldnt really find it. In the same breathe it is close to just about everything. Love living here and plan to be here for a while.

Don’t move there unless you love bugs!! We lived there for 5 months, and had repeated bug issues. Ants, jumping spiders, cockroaches, centipedes and more. The management and maintenance staff was great in responding and having our apartment sprayed but that seemed to be just a bandaid. Never in the 5 months was the apartment bug free. Rented the apartment because it had a great screens in porch! But mine looked like a cockroach graveyard! Supposedly there was no idea on how they were entering the apartment, but they were!My apartment was also, always kept very clean! No dishes on counters, no food left out, etc..I had notified the management that I was going to be moving out early, due to loss of job. I had debated staying til the end of the year. Then one night while laying in bed a cockroach crawled on my daughters head! That was it, I put in my 30 day notice ASAP!Not only was I moving because I lost my job, but also big reason was because of the bugs. We were sleeping with our lights on at this point and taking raid everywhere we went inside!I asked management if we were still required to pay the ridiculous two months rent penalty for breaking the lease... yep of course!! So leave earlier than anticipated because the bugs could not be eliminated and slapped with a 2130.00 penalty due immediately. Graciously they let me do a 6 month payment plan, so kind!

Not just an apartment but a COMMUNITY. I have lived here for a year and couldnt wait to renew the lease. Its a quiet community with lots of beautiful trees and foliage to provide shade and the feel that youre tucked away from all the noise and stress of the city. the grounds are well kept, the one time we had to call maintenance, they were fast and efficient. The pool is open starting in April and the laundry room is open late. There are lots of free events held for the residents and thoughtful touches around the holidays. The neighborhood is very diverse and LGBT friendly. Prepare to be greeted with a smile and a warm welcome when you stop by the office. Penny and Noel are excellent at making you feel like a part of the community and all of my neighbors have been friendly as well. My unit is a bit dated, but for the features, (screened balcony linked directly to my bedroom, natural lighting, fireplace) the location and the outstanding customer service/feel of the place, I dont mind one bit. After years in Charlotte, Ive found a place to BELONG.

I rented a junior one bedroom at The Villages 2012-2014. The apartment was called a junior one bedroom but the office manager, Penny, told me it was more like an efficiency with a wall between the living room and bedroom area...which was true. Rented the apartment sight unseen since there were no open apartments when I was apartment hunting. I was happy with my decision!! The apartment was just for myself. Had I been moving in with a girlfriend it would have been kind of cramped. I was there before the kitchens and bathrooms were upgraded. The apartment had washer and dryer connections but only an apartment sized stacked or stackable unit(s) could be used. Never had a problem with the rental office, the grounds were well kept, and they did have some type of community event once a month. The one drawback that will effect you on a month to month basis is (was?) that the windows werent very energy efficient. In the winter expect to run the heat a lot. These apartments are relatively close to the Sharon Rd West Lynx station BUT the walk will be up a decent incline hill to Sharon Rd West that has no sidewalk (well, it didnt while I was living there). The traditional one and two bedroom apartments have a screened in deck, the space for a full sized washer and dryer and fireplace. I would definitely rent here again if I still lived in the area.

I have been a tenant of The Villages for over two years and I love it here. In addition to the great location, roomy and well laid-out units and the amenities, probably the think I like the most is the staff. One of the unique things about The Villages is that all of the staff love ON property, so they are not only your service providers but also your neighbors. I see them out and about, walking their dogs and driving to work (yes, one of them, I wont say which, actually drives to the office). The level of service here is unmatched. Everyone is friendly and says hi, the Maintenance folks are prompt and cheerful (thank you Don and Ivan!), but probably the greatest assets are Jennifer Bradshaw, the Property Manager and Penny Hightower, the Assistant Property Manager. They have both been here for many years and know all there is to know about the property, the services and the people. Always cheerful, they are at the ready to help with or solve any problem. Their skills and demeanors complement one another and theyve worked together so long they have developed a cadence where they support and cover for one another seamlessly; they dont have bad days and theyre never too busy to help.I recommend The Villages highly as a great place to live!

Not only is the entire staff welcoming and professional, but they also stay on top of every issue at hand; i.e., need something fixed....no problem, theyll be there within the hour to take care of the issue at hand. For over two years now, I have lived at The Villages Apartments and Ill most certainly remain here until Im ready to move into a house. The rent is affordable and doesnt go up too much each year, which is a blessing. I would definitely encourage others to stay at The Villages Apartment, because its a safe, affordable, and friendly environment to live in.

This is a friendly well located property. Penny(property manager) is the sweetest lady you could ever ask for to run the property. Don and Ivan and all the maintenance team here are second to none. If you have a problem with anything they will be at your door to fix it with in a 5 minutes usually. I have been here 4 years and love the central location it is easy to get to south blvd and 485 as well as 5 minutes from Ballantyne or South Park. The apartments there self have wood burning fire places and nice size balconies.

In March 2017 I was helping my son look for a one bedroom apartment. I walked into the Welcome Center and the staff was very nice and friendly but the woman who helped me Penny Hightower, was one of the absolute sincerest and nicest person that I have ever met in my 10 yrs living here in Charlotte. Penny showed the apartment to me and I fell in love with the property and just her overall kindness. Although my son took another apartment with a some friends, a few months later I went back to view a two bedroom for myself and I fell in love all over again. Penny remembered me (and my son) and come August I will be a new resident of The Villages. Thank you Penny for helping me find my new home, you ROCK!!!
