Krysta the manager is very sweet. Since day one of my move in, she has been nothing but amazing. Ive read a lot of reviews regarding other tenants and all i can say is things happen and lets not blame them. My experience so far is great. A little crime here and there but nothing that they can control. Only the criminals can control their actions. My mans car was broken into, but we work so getting it fixed is no problem. I wish it was gated like other places around us and security was on the lookout all night, but hey they have lives too. no bug problem so Im not sure what to say about that. people complain about appliances being old, but i dont expect to get luxury stuff in Charlotte. My apartment is cozy, and something Ive always wanted because i make it that way. Luxury is for a HOUSE NOT APARTMENT. With everything going on w/ the Pandemic, I love that theyre working with me and giving hope that this too shall pass.To the staff at Heather Ridge, I would like to say thank you for doing all that you can to help your community.Brittany
Which maintenance you guys talking about it seven times for the same issue and it still there is he is not working in My apartment
I have been living here for 5yrs and I absolutely love it! The staff is very reliable, friendly, and very professional. The only constant negative is the Landscaping contractors. They come early in the morning are consistently loud. For those of us that work in the morning or have elderly people living with you, its very disheartening to not be able to rest when you need to. If they can have the contractors to come later in the morning, it would be great and more considerate. Especially considering with COVID-19 alot of people are working from home, so the noise is not only interrupting much needed rest but the jobs of the residents.
A bit pricey for the amenities that are offered but overall still much cheaper than other places in the area. They also have a awesome pet policy! No breed restrictions or weight restrictions! I would definitely recommend living here to anyone, especially students.• The front office staff are so nice and will genuinely try to help you as best as they can, same for the maintenance people.• A nice sense of community, there are always events going on at the front office, I really enjoy staying here.
I must say that Tyrone and the Muscle, lol...are both very professional, dependable and have good jokes.lol.. They are a great tag team and have left me very pleased with competing my maintenance requests. Thank you both!!
I toured here July 11th and Jennifer was very helpful. Sh emailed me back after my tour and stated she will reach out to me in September. I plan on moving here when my lease is up in November.
Krysta and Kelly are always friendly & make me feel welcomed when I go to pick up packages! Maintenance always comes quick to fix any issues we have. Great place!
The leasing office is very accessible and responsive, and it’s a great space! Very quiet, pretty private. Great so far. Special thanks to Krystle for being DA BOMB!
Had a great experience here so far. The maintenance staff is always dependable whenever something needs to be fixed. Very quiet and affordable.
Response to my AC issue was fast and efficient. I appreciate that he had me up and running in no time.
I like Heather Ridge because The Staff in the office are doing excellent, awesome, wonderful, fabulous Job! Because The Staff in the office need to continue to keep up the good work because The neighborhood is clean& quite and The Staff at Heather Ridge are doing a Great Job around here and everything is so close to home and everyone is so friendly and Im happy that to call Heather Ridge my home it is Great area to live in.
Had a couple repair issues come up this week, and they were fixed right away. Fast and responsive. Thanks.
My move in was great . I do wish they would’ve told me about the laundry facility, and stuff being closed tho .
I am going into my 2nd year here. Ive been satisfied. Im super close to work. They have community events which I always miss because of my work schedule but I would attend if I could. My only issue is the bugs on the premises within the walkways when its warm and wet outside. I really wish that can get resolved.
Constant staff, lower prices than most in the area for a managed location, pool, small gym, 1 trash location for entire complex. I live right between the mailbox and trash so I got a perfect spot. If you live farther back you have to walk your trash all the way out to the front, same goes for getting your mail. The few things that would make the place better: Two locations for trash, a larger gym, and change the pool rules. Its the only location I have ever lived where you are only allowed 2 guests at the pool. All 3 surrounding complexes do not have these rules, but their prices are much higher as well. Chancelor Park across the street is better in terms of pool/gym, but they have a lot of hidden fees. I had to pry the fees out of them. Heathers ridge is pretty straight forward and 0 hidden fees. Best place for the price in this area I could find after shopping around a lot. If you have a lot of stuff, I suggest getting a second room instead of a self storage locker nearby. When I got my place, it was $100 more for an extra room, which serves great as storage. It would cost about the same for the same size at any storage location.
Been living here two years. Great price, friendly community, maintenance is fast. I wish it werent so difficult to get somebody approved to live in my apartment when I qualified by myself, but it is what it is. They removed the dog breed restrictions, which is annoying because my dog has already been attacked by one of the dogs who would not have been living there had they continued with the breed restrictions. Convenient to shopping, work and recreation.
I was thinking about moving here. Its a good location between east Charlotte and the university area. However, none of the floor plans include a dining area, even the two bedroom. The prices are reasonable but what in the world is up with no dining area lol.
Great place to live! Staff is great and so helpful! I am enjoying my stay here at Heather Ridge.
While the ladies at the front were lovely, we had a car stolen and a car towed from this complex. There was no security cameras or anything so there was no way to know who took it. The car was stolen the night my wife and I got married so we think someone was watching us the days before. Then, my wife and I went on vacation and they towed our car over a simple misunderstanding. After 4 weeks of fighting with them, we had to pay $300 to get it back. They wanted us to pay $1300 because they hadnt notified us when the car was towed and the cost accumulated the entire time we were gone. Aside from all of that, there was a cockroach problem. It wasnt terrible, some months were better than others but to their credit they would spray a lot, which just meant finding a lot of dead ones around the perimeter. Aside from those big things we enjoyed our stay. Maybe we were just unlucky...
To me, who works in the front office is so important at apartment complexes - I have lived in places with unresponsive management and staff, but I feel like Heather Ridge is not one of those places. Just from the tour, I could see the staff here are fantastic - Ms. Brielle Favor showed us several apartments and layouts. Her enthusiastic warm personality, and her ability to see the potential in the spaces sold me on Heather Ridge. Knowing that we can come to her if there is ever an issue with the apartment was reassuring - she seems to really care about residents. I am glad that we came across Heather Ridge, as the quality and the people are just what we were looking for.
I stopped by the property to look at the apartments for my mother who is relocating to Charlotte. I was greeted by the staff as soon as I entered the main office, which was a plus for me. I was then given an apartment tour by Brielle who was very professional and informative. The experience was so smooth and pleasant, I am considering relocating to this location as well.
Over head apartment has been leaking into ours for 1 year. The 1st bathroom leaked for 1 year ceiling collapsed into the shower. Results: Mold has grown in the second bedroom wall where my children sleep. Now 10.25.2020 water pours from upstairs Apartment 8504 #303 into the kitchen /hallway ceilings.
Brielle was awesome, she helped me every step of the way. I couldn’t have asked for any better service. Being new to the city I had no idea where to go for anything. She took the time to make sure that I was moved in and everything was handled that same day even though it meant that she had to stay later than she had to. Thank you so much for everything
I lived at Heather Ridge for over 2 years. I absolutely loved my experience here. The only reason I moved was to upgrade to a home, it was bitter sweet for me to leave. The staff was always helpful and available for any issues or questions that I had. I would recommend this apartment complex to anyone!
I want to Thank BRIELLE for all the time and effort she put into finding the perfect place for me. She went above and beyond my exceptions, from the moment we first spoke and then some. Was always responsive of all my question and concerns. I say this with no hesitation, shes determine to acquire all of your needs and will not settle for less.
Lived here for a little over a year and everything was great besides maintenance never coming to fix things in an appropriate time our one bedroom ONE bathroom Apartment toilet wasn’t work for almost two months but anyways when we moved out they charged us with a lot of false things we were charged with an illegal pet fee however we’ve never ever had a pet ! I was taught to live a place how you came in to it so we deep cleaned the apartment before we moved out even did carpet cleaning then I called up there and they said the lady who handled it no longer worked there so I had to pay for something I didn’t do just to get it off my credit and they didn’t even have proof . Very unprofessional they just want people to move in but not move out
It was the most affordable in the area but the features are poor. The community has its issues just like any other but for the most part I like it here and maintenance handles everything well. IMoved here because of the breed restrictions on dogs and 3 months into my lease I started seeing dogs that were obviously not what I expected. I called the leasing office and they said “oh yea we changed the restrictions.” Would have been nice to know before the change occurred or before I signed my lease now I have to walk my dogs very carefully. Also the initial rent is cheap for year one but as with any other company they hike the prices ... especially if you only need a 6 month lease or month to month lease after your lease is up. For example the month to month lease will increase my rent from the initial price to the current market price and then a $200 month convenience fee ... it’s a little of a rip off for the quality of the space. If you’re not too picky and just looking for an ok place to live... Heather Ridge is it.
Brielle was awesome!! Super knowledgeable! She worked quickly to get me all of the information I needed and was extremely kind and helpful. She made feel comfortable and was patient while answering all of my questions. Super sweet and it’s apparent she definitely cares about her residents. Place wouldnt be the same without her. She deserves a promotion!
Maintenance team is great, ty Tyrone!
As a current resident the place is quiet calm and friendly no problems from other residents i enjoy staying here
Ok so I am relocating back to my hometown. And for early vacate I have to pay 3x the rent and on 30 days to get out. Use to be 60 day 2x rent. I’m not very happy with tribute properties for this. I will never rent another apartment again. It’s has become extremely noisy, people speeding through the community. Really white counter tops. Don’t spill anything on them. They stain quickly. No storage space, or closet space. This is after living in the community for 6 months. The area is extremely congested, I don’t feel safe here. Explains why I am moving home. Yes the management is great. I’m sorry but after living here for 6 months, I not as impressed as I was. They don’t do emergency maintenance after dark????
If I could give less than one star I would. This place is absolutely horrific. They let anyone live here no matter their background or criminal history. It is not a safe place to live. Thugs everywhere! They sit in their car and do drugs all hours of the night and the management couldn’t care less. They don’t care how often your car will get broke into but they will continuesly send out mass emails about picking up your dogs poop. DO NOT LIVE HERE.
Good service i just need them to seal the holes that were left
This place is a joke. They have a VERY high employee turnover rate. The current front desk employees and managers are rude and dont know what theyre doing. There is no security. The grounds are littered with trash. Maintenance is non-existent. They email non-stop but never respond to calls or voicemails. Dont live here.
I have lived at Heather Ridge for two years. Although the staff has switched since moving in, we love the attentiveness and promptness from staff and maintenance. I feel safe enough to run out to the car no matter the time of night. These apartments are affordable and near restaurants and staff. I dont normally write reviews unless something has impressed me or made me disgusted. O give Heather Ridge 5 stars from day 1. They approved us quickly and will work with any situation.
The apartment staff are very nice, theyll answer any questions you have and try to solve any problem you might have. The apartment maintenance also isnt hesitant to fix any problems you might run into in your apartment. However, the way the complex is setup it assumes everyone has a car. Theres only one dumpster throughout the entire complex. The washing machine area looks like it hasnt left the 90s the machines only take quarters and theres no change machine.
Brielle was amazing. She gathered information upon my arrival so we were able to jump right into things and get started. We smiled, we laughed she made looking for an apartment unburden.
This is the worst apartment complex ever. They have a roach problem and will not admit that they do. I see big roaches every week and they chalk it up to living in the South. Corporate doesnt care and they will not fix the problem at all. Its almost as if they want the roaches here. The thing is I have brought them proof and everything and they even tried to tell me one of the roaches I found was not a roach -_-. So basically they insulted my intelligence, and the crazy thing is I know so much about roaches now its ridiculous! I know more than their sorry pest control people. I have had to resort to placing sticky pads all around my apartment because the complex will not do anything. Anyways, please stay away from this complex, you will not be able to get a good nights rest and you will constantly be on pins and needles. No matter how clean you keep your apartment. I vacuumed and mopped practically everyday, and made sure not to leave ANY food or dishes out. However, it made no difference because Heather Ridge treats their roaches like paying tenants.
Lol is place is awful and management is a bunch of crooks. First off, they’ll remind you about putting a notice in by STICKING A PAPER IN YOUR DOOR. Like seriously. Right next to all the pizza and Chinese take out menus. So if yours happens to not blow away or get thrown out congrats, otherwise they charge you everyday you don’t put notice in and never say a word to you.Other than that you have lovely pets in every unit, aka the thousands of cockroaches in the complex. The AC will freeze at least 4 times over the summer and leak down the walls into your closet. The ceiling leaks and ends up getting black mold which they will “paint over” (their words, not mine).Do yourself a favor and live literally anywhere else except here.
The community is quiet I actually love it here however Im on the first floor and I HATE it its too many bugs they come and spray and never see anything. Ive made complaints several times about the people above me.Ive asked to transfer to another building on the 3rd level but they want me to pay another secure deposit, and everything else! Thats just unacceptable because I REALLY love it out here but once my lease is up Im out! I dont recommend anyone staying on the first floor
Couldnt even have an experience because they denied me over a late payment at a previous apartment. I Had my father on the application who was gonna help pay. He has a perfect credit score. They are super tight on approving someone for no good reason. What a waste of time and money. Good luck
Not a good place if you like cleanliness or safety. Police are there 3+ times a week to investigate car break ins. When it reaches 65 degrees out, expect roaches in every room
Less than 1 star! What a waste of time and money! Dont say one thing and do another! Told me they will hold my application for 24hrs so they wouldnt charge me but they processed it anyways without telling me because they took my $75 money order! Enjoy my $75!
They came and fixed the problem quickly and efficiently on the same day I entered the work order
This place is terrible. They change staff every few months, Kadrick and Sam being the newest, both useless. There are no amenities, they never do maintenance requests timely, the trash compactor is NEVER empty, and there is dog poop everywhere.
I loved living there, I was there for 10 years. The apartments are beautiful and the staff maintenance and office staff are awesome.
Zero amenities. Rude staff. Cops here constantly.
Tribute properties management has always been very helpful and caring. They are always proactive in resolving any housing / maintenance related issues faced by residents.
Very generic apartment, staff is friendly. Thats it. Weve had cockroaches twice and the managers told us to just use raid and we would be put on a list to be sprayed. Not acceptable- especially in such a close living proximity. Out of 8 washers and 8 dryers in the laundry area, only 5 washers and 4 dryers are available and have been broken since October. We just now got two more working washers. Lack of diligence on fixing problems is evident. Would get out of my lease today if I could, look elsewhere for an apartment.
I presently live here, have been here for over a year now. I like it a lot. Its a little pricey considering there are other apartments in the area that are bigger with a better floor plan and that offer more amenaties but I figure Im paying for the newness of the community. I have never had any problems with crime although when I first moved here there was an incident where several peoples cars were broken into all on the same night. The complex is very clean, the people, for the most part, are all young professionals. There are some college kids that live next to me that play their music too loud from time to time but some level of noise is to be expected when living in an apartment. The maintenance man is super nice and great about getting the job done as quickly as possible. The office staff is also very nice and always accommodating. The only problem I have had is a problem with my AC unit. It wasnt working properly, causing my light bill to be extremely high. The office insisted it wasnt a problem on their end until one day it went out and they had to replace quite a few things. It was a costly headache for me but I honestly think it was just one of those things that happens. I dont think they were trying to scam me in any way. They are working with me now to reimburse the money I lost over the AC unit. Also, the pool doesnt stay clean enough during the summer in my opinion. Other than that, its a decent place to live and its close to shopping and grocery stores.
I just moved out. I really liked my apartment and the repair guys were super. What I DONT like is that I asked to sign a 6 month lease and they slid a 7 month lease in front of me and I didnt catch it. i knew I would be buying a house and didnt want to be there any longer than 6 months, but they have now argued with me about it and hosed me for $800. My advice: READ YOUR LEASE and dont assume what you told them to write on the lease was actually written on the lease. I have no idea yet if theyre going to try to charge me for cleaning the carpet that is stained because the dishwasher leaked. I guess Ill know soon enough.
Nice and well priced for the area. Lived here 3.5 years without any serious issues.
Loveeeee it here its quiet and very affordable they have gorgeous layouts thats just so homey and comfortable and the staff here is great !
Edit: Updated my 5-star review from couple of years ago, to a 1-star today.Have stayed in this community for about 4 years but the last 2 years the management has changed at least once and the last month of my stay was the worst experience.I had to move out of state but with the COVID-19 situation it was getting delayed. With the lease ending in May I gave my notice-to-vacate in March, just as required by policy. I was told then, if anything changes in my plans especially with COVID-19 situation, if I need to renew or take a month-to-month lease I need to just let them know a month in advance. As I anticipated, my plans had to change and asked for extending to June and the leasing team told me I have to now pay a month-to-month rate for June which is fair. To be sure I asked them, if anything again changes and I need to extend/vacate after June, is it still a month notice, to which they replied yes.But when I called them end of May (one month notice) to extend for July, they said a new resident has already applied for that apt and I need to vacate by end of June, even though I was on a month-to-month. The reason they gave me is that they dont have any other 2 bed 2 bath available and I had not withdrawn my notice-to-vacate for lease ending in May.Knowing I had to extend for June because of the COVID situation, neither did the management bother to check with me or notify before allocating the apt to a new resident in July, nor did they tell me I had to withdraw my notice-to-vacate for lease ending in May for allowing me to be on month-to-month in June. The July month, for their own business benefit they valued a new resident more than the current resident and they get a new resident on longer lease instead of me on month-to-month. I still dont know how this is even possible by lease terms and after multiple calls to understand what went wrong, the best help they said they could provide is allow me to move to another apt in the community but on a new 3 or 6 month lease. How is this a help for me needing a month-to-month. Isnt this 3 or 6 month lease an option for anybody in the market looking for an apt.I ended up vacating in June, going door to door looking for temporary accommodation amidst this COVID-19 pandemic putting others and myself at risk.Ive listed other Pros/Cons below and I hope it helps others to make cautious decisions. Stay safe everyone.Pros:1. Apartment rent is cheaper than other communities in university area but the rooms are smaller and the appliances, cabinets, faucets, etc. are old. I had a microwave and fridge with cracks on body but for us guys, these things didn’t matter much and we also got a first month half rent deal on the lease. If you get deals on the lease it may be good enough.2. Maintenance requests are taken care promptly.3. Security wise, have seen police patrolling at night so seems safe and calm except for one instance when I had to complain because my apt was pool facing and some residents for few days were hanging out in the pool area everyday throughout midnight but though I didn’t get any response from management for the complaint, they seem to have taken care of that. Personally have not witnessed any crime here.4. Enough open parking available and nothing specific for residents or visitors.5. Residents sometimes mess the trash area but by end of week they are cleaned up.Cons:1. Poor Management - When I renewed my lease the final year, I was told I would get an upgrade with new kitchen and bathroom faucets but it never happened.2. Poor Management - My ex-roommate left the apartment more than a year ago but the lease related notices and communications still has his name as 2nd lease holder. Luckily it wasn’t an issue when I had to vacate, since somewhere in their system they had records showing my ex-roommate had requested to get himself removed from lease. Again, things not in order.3. Poor Management - Package log register never updated and roaches in building. Tip: Keep kitchen sink holes closed at night.
I had an issue with leaking sink and microwave not working. I send a email to the team and in few minutes they were at my door ready to fix it. They were so prompt and on time. Thank you guys.
Dont let these fake reviews fool you. This place is terrible. Bad customer service, old appliances and HUGE roaches. Their bug problem is in all their buildings on every floor. If I could give zero stars I would.
DO NOT move into Heather Ridge Apartments off E WT Harris Blvd. I moved here early 2017 because it was the closest place to UNC-Charlotte that I could afford a 1br/1ba apartment. I immediately regretted it and you will too.My first problem is that Heather Ridge is not even a deal cost-wise. My 1br/1ba apartment is 633 sq-ft for $810/mo. That’s about $1.28/sq-ft, which is the UPPER end of average cost in this area. They charge high-end prices and don’t offer high-end amenities. The gym is garbage, there’s about two treadmills and one weight machine for a complex of more than 20 buildings, the pool is unimpressive, utilities and washer/dryer are not included. These shortcomings are nothing compared to the roach infestation. My second problem, the cockroach infestation and that the front office, nor the corporation that owns the complex (Tribute Properties), will fix it. When you complain about the cockroach infestation, the front office does nothing but deny that they are roaches and offer to have someone spray your apartment. Even as I waved a jar full of them (that I collected from my apt only over 2 weeks, picture shown below) in their faces, they looked me in the eye with a straight face and called them “water/palmetto bugs” (which, by the way, are by definition American Cockroaches) to try to extenuate the problem. Not that the name should matter because regardless of what they want to call them, their buildings are infested. I don’t see a roach every now and then, I see AT LEAST one roach EVERY SINGLE DAY. They’re inside the bones of the building and all over the grounds of the complex. I’ve seen them in every room of my apartment, in my cabinets, on my balcony, CRAWLING OUT OF MY AIR VENTS. Imagine how hard it is to sleep when you’ve literally been lying in bed and watched a roach crawl out of a vent and along the ceiling above you. I’ve been sitting at my desk and had one land on me. Living here will drive you to insanity. The only reason I haven’t gotten the complex investigated by the health department is because NC law only requires the lessor to take some action against the problem. They claim that they have someone spray the grounds every week and send this person to spray your apartment upon request, so they’re vindicated. I don’t know what they’re spraying, but I do know it is not effective because every night I walk outside, I see cockroaches, alive. When I’ve had them spray my apartment, I’ve seen MORE roaches inside than usual. The severity of the infestation is to the extent that they need to evacuate the buildings and fumigate. They are not going to pay for multiple buildings to move out for two days in order to fumigate. They are not going to fix the problem. Save yourself the aggravation, paranoia, and money. Move somewhere else. Maybe if they start losing money, they’ll stop letting people live with roaches.
I visited a friend here his apartment was nice the parking is a bit tricky
I would give 0 star of I could! Management is the worst you can have in this area. Save you some time to look somewhere else if you want to be treated fair. By the way, staffs change periodically, yes, just like you flip the Calendar.
It is a nice community, also has two (2) pools .
No big and tall, wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable.
Long story short, terrible place to live. They charge you with ridiculous stuff when you move out. They put my name on a month to month lease without my consent and charge me for 10 days even though I had already move out. Very ridiculous policies they have. Management is poor. Not recommended at all.
My Ante lives here and for the past 8months has been going to the office to complain about Roaches and still they havent done anything about it they wont except that there is roaches. I personally had to take them of her child back. everyday they have to deal with it.
A pleasant experience
