We have a reactive German Shepherd. Since moving to Austin 6 months ago, weve been so nervous to take her to a new vet. The staff today did an absolutely amazing job with her - from the handling in the car to the actual vet visit. The vet visit was very in-depth and we appreciate how thorough the intake was. Were so grateful to the staff. We cant recommend Zippi Vet S Lamar highly enough.

I typically don’t write reviews but I brought my little shelter dog to Zippi Vet a year and a half ago for a check up exam and she has always been pretty lazy (doesn’t like to go on walks) and has some minor arthritis issues and she is a little bit stiff in the mornings. We have had her for 10 years and she has always been this way. I told the vet all this and he said “we have to start thinking about her quality of life” and put euthanasia on the table? No vet has ever suggested this before and I was so confused. This was a year and a half ago and she has been thriving and is happier than ever. I don’t understand why that would’ve even been a suggestion… I would never go back to a vet that suggested killing my perfectly happy dog and I always tell new pet owners this story when they’re looking for a vet. If you’re looking for a good vet I HIGHLY recommend Lake Austin Blvd Animal Hospital!

I’ve been taking my dog to ZippiVet for over 2 years now. Ive always had great interactions with scheduling staff, vet techs, and doctors at ZippiVet. Everyone is super nice and genuinely cares. I never doubt that my dog is getting any less than great care.

They always seem to go above and beyond in making sure our pets are taken care of. There have been a couple of times where other vets said they were too busy and didnt have the time for our pets. They made the time to look and take care of our pets. We wont go anywhere else. What we love the most is the care they provide our pets

Shout out to Xena who helped me arrange for flea meds and vaccine update appointment over the phone. I had to wait a long time to talk to someone, but once I was on the phone, she was incredibly helpful and took her time to make sure the pets got everything I needed. I have only worked with you guys during the Covid pandemic so Im not sure about the non-pandemic experience, but I think you guys are doing a great job within the circumstances. Its hard to not be there with my cat in person to ask questions, but I do feel that all of my concerns have been addressed and the system is very well organized. I can’t say enough about Zippivet on South Lamar’s service, support, professionalism and care over the last 15 months. My dog Harvey has had a lot (A LOT!) of issues since I adopted him. Heart worm, allergies, digestive troubles, cracked teeth, and a rat poison consumption episode… good times! With every issue, Zippivet has been able to see Harvey right away. Even if I think something is off, but I’m not sure what, they are open to having me bring him over just for observation.Zippivet always provides options for how we can treat Harvey, and they are always a wealth of information when I have many, many questions. I don’t want to advertise this, because I know they have families, but these vets go way above and beyond. Working late, answering questions on their days off and personal phones. It’s crazy how much they care, and how devoted they are to keeping Harvey healthy. We have had to prioritize treatments and make difficult decisions regarding what to work on first, and how to approach it. They strategize and problem solve with me more than I could have ever expected. When they don’t have an answer, or they want to double check their theories, they take it upon themselves to reach out to other experts in the field for more information. It’s scary times when a dog you love so much is struggling. Zippivet has been there the whole time, with a patient, genuine and understanding approach.Over the course of all these visits, and all these medications, I have formed a bond with a number of the vets and vet techs that work there. So has Harvey. He loves visiting Zippivet and seeing Dr. Zee, Jocelyn, Camille, and the rest of the team. I’m hoping at some point the visits are slightly less frequent, but I also know that I always have Zippivet in my corner to provide top notch service whenever Harvey’s next issue presents itself. I started using Zippivet a couple years back, and will continue to do so. They have always been helpful, knowledgeable and kind.I had to go back this week for a six month follow up with my cat Gabe. I was so very nervous, sad and anxious with lots of tears. Like I said, everyone has been kind, but this time I had the pleasure of crossing paths with Brian at the south Lamar location. He made this visit much more emotionally controllable for me. He listened without judgment, he heard what I was saying, not just acknowledging words and went above and beyond with reaching out to me, checking in with me and reassuring me about everything, regardless of results. He related to me by sharing he has an animal himself with similar issues etc and that made me feel better seeing it from another persons side, not just information from a veterinarian in regards to your own animal. I am so grateful for all of that and hope Brian stays with Zippivet for awhile!

Very COVID safe and easy to navigate. They have you park, text what spot you are in, and they come out and take your pet in for their appointment. They call when they have exam results or need to go over something. This facility is overflowing with honest communication and genuine care!Also really lovely over the phone and answered ALL of my questions when I was scheduling my first visit.

Ive worked with three different vets at ZippiVet while working through my kittys chronic ear infections (and the discovery of an ear polyp). Theyve all been so helpful and always take time to answer my many questions, and its been nice to basically get several second opinions by default. The vet techs are also wonderful, taking information from me efficiently and explaining clearly how I should use whatever treatment Im going home with. Its obvious that all of them care very much about my girls welfare and want the very best for her.

I really love the team at Zippivet South Lamar. The techs are always so kind and thorough in a time where person to person interactions are difficult. The phone calls are always personable and caring. I have had quick responses to emails and inquires to their team as well.I appreciate that the team is very upfront about all costs before proceeding with treatment plans. As a pet parent its reassuring to have full details of procedures when facing scary things like emergency surgery. That transparency really sets them apart from a lot of vets in town.

Zippivets and their squad are super awesome! They always get us in quickly even on short notice. One of our dogs is very shy and scared of the vet and the other one not so much, Zippivet is always extra accommodating in making sure both dogs come back to the car with tails wagging! Very straightforward first visit for a new pet owner. They picked Wes up right from the car (Covid times) and handled everything super quickly.I particularly appreciate Camille taking the time to look at a photo of Wess belly a few days later. She was unsure and shared it with the doc to help me determine if I needed to bring him in. No major cause for concern for Wes, but its great to know little checks like that can happen from time to time without a hassle - really REALLY appreciate it.The timely replies and overall level of communication have been fantastic. In just one visit, I already get the sense that this team is highly responsive and really cares.To be perfectly candid, Id initially intended on using ZippiVet just a few times while I found a more long-term care provider through personal referrals. At this point, Im convinced that wont be necessary.

I LOVE Zippivet. Weve taken our sweet recently adopted girl here a few times in a few weeks, and they have always made us feel great about her. I was especially impressed when they got us in without an appointment on a Sunday before memorial day for our girls severe limping and arthritis. I can’t recommend this place enough! I have been going here for a couple of years and even pre-pandemic they have been hands down the best vet I’ve taken my 12 yrs old Bueller to! Everyone is SO friendly and caring, I am usually able to get a same day appointment and reasonably priced. I’ve taken my dog here during pandemic for vaccinations and today, something for anxiety, and they take great safety measures and are still very personable (via phone and in-person). They text you the bill and you can pay on your phone! Thank you to everyone here, you make vet visits very painless :)

Ive taken my pup to two different vets. I only took him to the other one once and then back to zippi because they are so amazing! I couldnt recommend them enough. theyre all so nice and professional, especially during covid they have handled everything so well. My first experience was not the best with Zippivet. I waited in my car for almost an hour to only be asked the same questions that I had already answered on the pre-visit email. I was very frustrated because I had missed my own appointment, waiting on them. This morning Camille called me and was so nice and professional. She spoke to me like we had been friends out entire life. She explained everything to me and even though it was not a good first impression, I will be returning to zippivet. I felt very comfortable with Camille and have faith that I am in good hands.

The team at the south Austin location is so knowledgeable and patient. I dont have the easiest of dogs to deal with (specially during vet visits), so their expertise in handling Hazel made the visit wonderful to say the least. They even played catch and send me a video of Hazel playing around - which has never happened before in a veterinarians office. Im super happy and can honestly say Im much less worried about taking her to the vet. You guys have handled my anxious dog perfectly

Ill start off by saying my dog is very well behaved and good about taking shots and blood draws. Due to her medical needs she has blood drawn once or twice a year. Being new to Austin I visited this zippivet having heard good reviews. During the visit 2 of the techs/vet assistants spent over 15 minutes attempting to draw blood from my dogs arm. Thats 15 minutes of her getting repeatedly jabbed and stabbed with a needle. I also asked about the cost of blood tests and was given an estimate 2-3 times what Ive paid in the past. Overall, the staff was friendly but failed to perform standard veterinary procedure and was extremely overpriced.Below is a copy of an email I sent in response to their attempt to have my dog undergo more veterinary nightmares with them. Camille at zippivet (South Lamar) is nothing but AMAZING. She is ALWAYS checking up on my two dogs and I have never felt more trusting of anyone. She has such a big heart for animals and it’s very obvious. She made my new dog feel so at home and comfortable even after he lost trust with humans. ZippiVet was quick and efficient. They took care of all our needs for our pet and answered all the questions we had, as well as giving us a ton of helpful, additional information. I really appreciated how open and honest the staff was about what was being done with our pet and giving additional information about feeding and training for our new pup.

I love this vet clinic! Our dog has not been fond of vet visits and can sometimes become aggressive. Our technician, Camille, was hands down the best part of our visit. We were very nervous about bringing our dog to a new vet, considering that we are not able to go into the buildings because of COVID, but Camille spoke with us over the phone and explained that she herself has a nervous dog and knew exactly how to make our sweet Ellie feel comfortable. Camille even offered for us to watch the appointment from afar. We were so impressed when Ellie wagged her tail at Camille and even kissed her!!! When Ellie was walking back to the car, she had a smile on her face and even watched Camille walk back to the building like she was saying thank you! So, thank you Camille for understanding Ellie and making her feel very comfortable and safe! We can not thank you enough!

Zippivet has not always been the best to me. In fact, I was so upset with the lack of communication and caring for my dog, I switched vets. I was in a hard spot with my dog, and was desperate to get her seen, so I call Zippi on the off chance that they would get me in because my regular vet could not. A young lady named Eve answered the phone and was so nice and understanding. She placed me on a brief hold and got me into the south lamar location. Before I even got there a girl named Camille called me and I could hear in her voice that her was genuinely concerned about my dog and asked if everything was ok. Before I even got to the clinic, they were concerned about my dog. When I got there, Camille rushed out to make sure my dog was ok, which she was. But the compassion and caring was such a sigh of relief. Camille kept me updated all day long and even sent me pictures of my dog while she was in the hospital. I really felt like they cared for my dog like she was one of their own, and I can not thank Eve enough for getting me in, and for Camille for taking care of my dog. I am switching back to Zippi because the care that I received was like nothing I had ever received before. I dont know of another vet clinic that would care as much and be more understanding than this place. The fact that they were able to get me in on short notice, take great care of my dog, send me pictures of my dog and care about her blew me away. Thank you Zippi for taking care of my dog and making her feel better!

SOUTH LAMAR STAFF IS AMAZING!!!!! We recently had the best experience with the staff and Dr. Zee! My dog had an ear infection that caused face paralysis and zippivet was the closet emergency vet. They handled my Benny with the utmost care! At times the wait can be long but they really care for your pet. They have been following up with us to see how Benny is doing since our visits. We love this place!!! This is my preferred vet. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Having raised more than 30 cats in my lifetime you have the chance to compare veterinary services. Leo, my 12 year old Bengal recently scared us by not eating or drinking coupled with drooling. Not only did they treat the problem they got Leo in immediately giving him their first available office visit post a cancellation.If Leo could talk, and he does talk, he would tell you the same story. My sincere thanks to everyone.

Happy with service, they always take good care of my babies. Could work on their filing system as I had two accounts by accident and it led to accidental scheduling when my dogs werent due, which was somewhat of an inconvenience. Fortunately that has been resolved, and I don’t see any future issues arising. Nice, competent, and great location

Dr. Ballis and the techs were fantastic. My dog had a more severe injury than I ever expected and Dr. Ballis was extremely informative and comforting. The techs were friendly and genuinely showed care for my dog (my baby).

I have had good experiences with other Vet offices before, but none are even close to the phenomenal experience we got with Zippivet. Our cat got sick right before the snowstorm. We had an appt but ultimately, it got canceled due to the weather (not their fault, they dont control the weather). Camille (she deserves the biggest raise in the world) was in constant contact with me to make sure our cat got taken care of. We took him to an emergency clinic and he had a massive bladder stone that was rupturing his bladder. He had emergency surgery and despite having to be at a different hospital, Camille still kept reaching out and making sure our baby was doing well. After life started to get back to normal, we called to get him in for a checkup and suture removal. Eve answered the phone and she was amazing. I explained the situation and before even telling her my cats name, she knew exactly who he was. That stunned me. As far as I remember, I had never spoken to her about him, only Camille. She asked how he was doing and was genuinely curious and caring. Every single person Ive spoken to at Zippivet has such a large heart for animals and even customer service. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. The storm was rough on all of us, but yall went way above expectations. Camille, girl keep doing your thing. Youre a Rockstar. Eve, thank you for everything.

ZippiVet was able to take us quickly (within 3 days of calling for an appointment). They were super friendly, and very efficient with the appointment. Super reasonable pricing, too!

There is a reason I continue to drive all the way into Austin from Bastrop to this location! Dr. Ballis, Camille and the rest of their team are incredibly caring and helpful. They went out of their way to help me and my pup... every single time I go there, everyone is incredibly understanding about Cleo’s fear of vet techs, and with her being over 100 pounds they allowed me to bring her on the patio to be examined with me there. When bad luck struck us a few weeks ago, and Cleo was unable to walk, everyone was diligent, careful, timely, and so so empathetic. Unfortunately Cleo couldn’t be treated at their facility due to neurological problems, so Camille and Dr. Ballis went out of their way calling every E-vet around to get us seen ASAP. It was an incredibly stressful ordeal for us all, but ultimately this team had found us a place to get a proper MRI and even prepped the neurologist for our arrival at A&M small animal hospital. We all cried that day... the story has a happy ending, I swear! You’ll be happy to hear that after a week at A&M and a round of steroids, Cleo is back up on her feet and playful as usual. She’s doing really well. She was diagnosed with Wobblers for life, but she’s able to manage for now with medication. #WobblersSucks Camille has checked in with me multiple times and I really feel her and the staff truly do treat our fur babies as their own! Thank y’all so much! This is the best vet I have ever been to.

I highly recommend ZippiVet! Every staff member Ive been in contact with is so very nice and friendly. They are patient and answer all of my questions without making me feel like theyre in a hurry to get to the next person. Ive received return phone calls in a timely manner and I feel the doctor is available to talk to me whenever necessary. They also seem to be sensitive to cost and I feel they try to offer me lower cost options that I have not experienced at other vets.

Both the techs and the vet were communicative through the entire process. Any questions I had were happily and thoroughly answered. My dog came back to the car in good spirits. It was an awesome first time vet experience!

All good I just wish I could have been in there with him so he didnt feel alone. But I understand the seriousness of COVID-19 and understand why I wasnt allowed in. But other then that everything was ok. Stank seems a little irritated at times but we just got more litters so we will see if this helps the cats stress and everything. My vet clinic of over 30 years refused to take my lab in for an emergency and then told me they had NO appointments until 2 weeks out. < br />ZippiVet on S Lamar had helped a Good Samaritan who found my pug a few months ago find me though scanning him for a chip.< br />I was SO greatful for ZippiVet and the Good Samaritan to bring Winston home! (And all on a SUNDAY)< br />So when my lab slashed open her paw and needed stitches and my vet clinic turned me away, I called ZippiVet and my lab was seen in 45 minutes.< br />ZippiVet has just gained 2 new patients! < br />Thank you! ❤️ Fast, confident service at a fair price.

Ive been using zippivet for years. The reason I keep using them is because their staff always makes me feel like my concerns are being listened to and my pets are given the best care. Took my kitty here on wednesday because I suspected his ears were bothering him. Terrance listened to my description of his symptoms and sure enough, they uncovered that my kitty had a mild ear infection. Terrance gave me the best customer service and also gave me tips on portion control (since occasionally my cat eats too fast and barfs lol), he also made my cat feel super comfortable and made the curbside process go as smoothly as possible.

I was happy with my first time vet appointment at Zippivet. Im glad that they are taking social distancing seriously and not allowing humans inside! I look forward to the next time I am able to visit and interact more directly with the staff, who were all very pleasant and kind with me over the phone. I particularly enjoyed the ease of scheduling an appointment and having an email where I could send her prior vet records.

Staff was excellent and incredibly kind. This was our first visit. Loved how convenient the location is and am so impressed with the facilities. I appreciated the consultative approach- you listened, offered advice and did not make me feel judged. You also showed such affection towards my dog which is so important to me.

ZippiVet has always been there for my dog and I appreciate the care they provide. I love how the vet recognizes my pup. It makes him more comfortable in an uncomfortable situation.I only leave 4 stars because I always feel like they try to sell me something unnecessary - at first it was probiotics when Id come by for a normal check-up ($13). Recently Ive looked into having my dogs teeth cleaned and there are much more affordable options.You pay for quality at ZippiVet, but it seems the non-life-threatening procedures can be done with the same quality for a better price.

The process was flawless and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They were very patient on the phone and very quick to get my cat in and out in less than 30 min for vaccinations and check-up. The doc was casual and very kind and personable with great recommendations and on the spot calorie requirement calculations for my cats diet. 10/10 would visit again

My sweet kitty had a high temperature upon arrival and the staff did everything they could to cater to her needs while updating us throughout the visit. Were very appreciative for how the staff handled our kitty and the help we received that day. Especially during covid, the staff was extremely professional and efficient. Overall just extremely caring and genuine concern for my pet making sure to get her everything she needs.

The staff is always so friendly and helpful, we love coming here and so do our pups! I love the amount of care and time the staff puts into making our pups feel comfortable. They even have happy visits so the dogs can come and just hang out with the staff (and get lots of treats) and now our pups actually get excited about going to the vet!

I enjoyed the amount of detail the doctor went into to explain everything to me, and was able to make the medical terms understandable. He also answered all of my questions. Everyone else was also very kind and helpful. The empathy for me and my pet was my favorite part.

I am very pleased with the experience given the circumstances surrounding our current state of living and being. My Leia was well taken care of and I had a meaningful discussion with the vet over the phone while I waited in my vehicle during her visit. I did not feel rushed although they seemed busy and was glad to be given the options I was given. I will keep coming back to ZippiVet S Lamar! Level of Care is definitely a 10 out of 10!

Great communication and friendly

Staff even volunteered to walk my dog to obtain a stool sample. No clinic has ever volunteered that service for me. The affection staff showed to my senior dog was wonderful, and their implementation of Covid-19 infection control was very good.

Ive been to N and S Austin locations and both are fantastic. Everyone is always super nice and pleasant, and the vet will really take the time to explain whats going on and the options for treatment. A great vet I would recommend to anyone.

Great experience. Staff was friendly, attentive and engaging. They were quick to greet, awesome communication and the follow up call the next day was a nice surprise as well. We just moved to Austin and luckily have found our new Vet home!!!

I accidentally mixed up the day of my appointment, and ZippiVet got my puppy in anyway within 5 min of me arriving. They took great care of my pup and were so informative and knowledgable.
