I cant say enough good things about AVE they helped me out at a rough time. I had to have my 17 year old beagle put down at 3 am.After pepper had passed I was taking him back home with me they placed him in a card board coffin that was awesome and made me feel better like they were treating Pepper like he was their dog.The fees were 1/2 the price of his regular vet and I was able to get Pepper in that night so he did not have to suffer any more then necessary. Thanks I know Pepper is in a better place because of your help.

It was a Saturday night and they were already at capacity and understaffed, but still took my dog who had suffered puncture wounds due to a dog biting him, which i was so grateful for. They took my dog (intake) quickly and gave me clear instructions on how long it would take to get to my dog if he didnt need triage. Due to covid you can’t go into the building but they came out to get him quickly. Grateful for the clear understanding of the care and timeframe they gave me. Felt the care was excellent from front desk staff, to the tech who came out to get my dog, to the awesome vet who checked him out… Im very grateful and happy with his care.

We are so grateful for yall! It was such a quick, easy, and covid-aware check in. Yall also made us feel comfortable and more at ease as soon as you saw him by giving us a brief idea of what you thought it sounded like that made us feel relaxed to know it might not be as bad as we were thinking at first. How fast you were and how at ease you made us feel from the moment you picked up the phone to make us feel like our pet was in the best hands. Also did not push any unneccessary expenses or services or anything so we felt financially taken care of and trusting in yall as well.

Compassionate, talented, and, surprisingly, reasonably priced. We had to put our much loved and now our sorely missed dog to sleep today. AVES made room for us when no one else, including our own family vet clinic, would. They were completely full when I called, but when I explained the situation with our dog, they said come right up and well help you. The doctor ran tests right away, let us know what the problem was and confirmed putting him to sleep was the right move. Every single person there was so nice and so compassionate. Saying good-bye was the saddest thing weve had to do, but we are so appreciative to them getting us in and all that they did for us.

Chopper received surgery in 2018 at AVES. We were very happy with the results and care Chopper received at that time. He was recently diagnosed with skin cancer, and I know we chose the right Vet for his care with Dr. Tim Stein. We feel comfortable and confident in his care.In addition, we recently had an ER scare and visited in the middle of the night, 4 days after his cancer diagnosis. I was not happy with the timely communication from the Vet. Due to COVID we had to sit in the car or outside for five hours for this visit. The Vet saw Chopper, then proceeded to attend to another patient, and we did not get a call for two hours to discuss his diagnosis. I understand when a Vet is the only one on board at the ER, and many patients, but this was an ER visit, and due to his current cancer diagnosis, this visit was critical in our opinion, as we did not know if Choppers condition was directly related to the cancer or not. I have never had to take a pet to the ER, so I do not have any other incidents to compare to, and I now understand the protocol. Either way, there has to be a better process to keep folks informed. Overall I would highly recommend AVES to anyone. The techs are all so amazing and attentive.

It meant a lot to me to be told that although you were at capacity, I should bring her in anyway since it was an emergency after having another emergency clinic tell me they were at capacity but to try elsewhere because she needed to be seen. Her care was prioritized and your staff listened to the information shared both in general and in response to questions. Our primary vet could have used more details on what follow up testing was expected, but overall I left understanding what my dogs needs were and why.

Dr. Chauvet and the vet technician staff at AVES are an exemplary example of compassionate veterinary care. Our pet, Kipling (Kippy) Corgi/Border Collie fell off our bed which resulted in a very serious injury to her neck. My husband and I can’t thank the AVES team enough for the comfort they provided during our heartbreaking decision to let go of our precious fur baby girl. I too shall never forget the random act of kindness the vet tech displayed in the AVES parking lot. She stopped her car, rolled down the window to ask, “Are you Kippy’s Dad?” When I replied “yes”, she got out of the car and hugged me to let me know how sorry she was for our loss. She also shared the beautiful moments she had that day feeding Kippy 1/2 jar of peanut butter while they sat outside enjoying an Texas Spring day. Your kindness and loving care shall never be forgotten in bringing me such comfort during a difficult time. Your act of loving kindness provided me with validation that AVES was the best choice of many in selecting emergency vet care services for our fur baby girl.

They took exceptional care of my dog when I took her in for injuries from an attack by another dog. They were prompt when I arrived as a walk-in, and immediately took my dog in for treatment. I cannot say enough good things about how polite the staff were, and the top-notch quality of care. With that said, I do have 2 minor complaints. One, I wish they could have a better system in place for updating owners on a regular basis. I would wait as long as I could to call for a status update, and at some points it had been 2.5hrs since hearing anything about her. It would have been nice to hear from them every time they completed something or examined her. That may not sound reasonable as I know they are very busy, but when you’re worried about your baby every detail matters. Second concern, I wish they would have given more info about wound care once I got her home. But I still highly recommend AVES and would use them again, even if nothing changes as far as the concerns I mentioned!

My sister and I had a horrible experience at your clinic today.Around 12:30 today, we brought in her senior dog who had a seizure this early this morning and quickly declined throughout the day. When we arrived, Brady was brought back to see the vet; my sister requested to go back with him and we were apprised of the COVID protocols. We waited for several hours while the vet ran diagnostics on Brady, ultimately determining that euthanasia was the best course of action; in fact, the vet told her that Brady was barely hanging on. My sister requested to go back to sit with him while she waited for her husband to arrive. The vet told her that while he couldn’t let her sit with Brady indefinitely, she could go back with him for 10-20 minutes. After telling the receptionist what the doctor relayed to us, we stood outside for about 15 minutes. Eventually, someone (she called herself Carol when I requested her name, but I have no idea if she gave me her real name) came outside to talk to us – she was clearly stressed and agitated. She told us that she could not let us back to visit Brady, as there was a critical case and that dog’s owner’s needed to go back. We told her we were the critical case and that the vet had granted my sister permission to visit her dog.At this point, the woman became highly agitated and began raising her voice. She yelled at us that there was another dog crashing and she could not let us back there to see Brady. She was so awful that my sister burst into tears, explaining that she just wanted to visit her dying dog and asked the clinician not to yell at her. The woman told my sister that she needed to stop yelling; my sister had not yelled up to that point, but then told her that the hospital was awful and the whole experience had been terrible. Again, the woman started yelling at my sister. I asked her to please lower her voice. My sister finally walked away sobbing and I asked the woman to please just lower her voice and have some compassion when speaking to my sister, who was moments away from putting her dog to sleep. The clinician then exploded and screamed at me that she had to put her dog down three weeks earlier and her husband killed himself, finishing it off with, “So why don’t you have some compassion for me?!”I asked her for her name; she paused, smiled smugly, and said, “Carol and I’ll get you a manager.” Another couple waiting putting their dog down to sleep saw what happened and got out of their car to make sure we were ok.The manager never came out to speak to us. Shortly after the incident, my sister’s husband arrived and they were whisked away into a room to say goodbye to Brady.I won’t attempt to minimize what Carol is going through – it sounds like she’s having incredibly difficult time. I will say that she’s not close to emotionally stable enough to deal with customers at an emergency vet. Until my sister finally started crying because this woman was so awful, she had not raised her voice in any aggressive manner – she was just trying to explain what the doctor told her. Our issue was not necessarily that she wasn’t permitted to see her dog, it was that the clinician’s delivery and demeanor was abhorrent. My husband and I have two dogs of our own, and one of them has been to AVES in the last few months. I will never again entrust their care to you staff and I can guarantee, neither will my sister.

When our second dog had a cancer scare - despite trusting our vet - our first call was to Dr. Stein. He offered us additional information, reassurance, and confidence in our course of action. We couldnt have asked for better care from the AVES oncology team - for our Freddie Mae and for us.

The staff at AVES was very friendly and supportive, They allowed me to bring my Annabel in, when other veterinary hospitals would not take time to see her. Examined my Annabel, answered question about my concerns.

Although I have no doubt that my pet is receiving good care, the complete lack of in-person contact with anyone is very disconcerting. I got the impression that the staff would prefer that my pet be delivered in a box to the loading dock rather than have to interact with me at the front door. They dont even want any clients to occupy the waiting room, but we are perfectly welcome to congregate in the coffee shop just a few doors away, no mask required.I am fully vaccinated. The staff should be as well. I have no idea what my veterinarian even looks like; he is just a voice on the phone. I get that there is a pandemic out there but life goes on. Its time for AVES to open up and let us in.

Update: still have never heard a word back from this facilityfirst, i emailed this office about my experience and could even get a reply. i want to start by saying that i do believe most of my horrible experience was due to restrictions related to covid. However that doesnt change that my final experience with my beloved animal was a nightmare and i feel that its because i had no choice but to bring him here. it also doesnt excuse the lack of communication that i got from you and ultimately the grief and guilt i fell for entrusting my baby to you in his final hours. He was dropped off with yall knowing that there were several patients to be seen before him. however i get a call 2 hours later saying he is in a lot of pain can i give him something for that. i think he is trying to leave this earth tonight. how far away are you?. my husband and i rush back only to wait outside for another hour. i do not understand why we couldnt have waited with him outside before he was put to sleep. that would have surely been more pleasant than him being with people he did not know and gave him NOTHING for the pain he was in. when i said to the veterinarian how i felt she told me i was being unfair. --i really think that the way he was treated before he got any relief was cruel. it was clear he was in extreme pain and we believed we were bringing him in to put him to sleep but instead he suffered needlessly for several hours before that. i dont think ill easily get over the guilt i feel for bring him here. i understand not being allowed in the building. if he was going to sit and suffer however i would have loved being afforded the opportunity to comfort him while we waited. reading through these reviews i see that this is a common type of service yall offer and i am so sorry that i brought him here. i will share this experience with as many people as i can because its been very hard--not losing him as much as where we lost him and the way he must have suffered in his final hours. These are the final photos of him that day 🥺🥺

I want to thank the staff at AVES for their professional, prompt, and courteous service in treating our cat. When I arrived Friday evening, I was enthusiastically greeted and assured that my cat was in great hands. They explained how they were going to triage the situation and then called several times throughout the evening with updates. I could not have been more pleased with the care and service given. I highly recommend AVES for your pet emergencies.

I CAN NOT SPEAK HIGHER OF THIS PLACE!!! Not only did they save our baby who was on the verge of leaving this world, but they made us feel so comfortable throughout the whole process. They called us multiple times a day with extremely thorough updates, we felt so safe entrusting our pup to their care and expertise. They never gave us false hope, prepared us for how dire the situation was, and took all the steps necessary to bring her back to us. The staff was so incredibly kind to us and to our pup...I knew without any doubt she was getting tons of love and attention on top of the very attentive medical care. They let us come visit anytime of the day/night we wanted and sit with her in the back for however long we wanted to...and always let us know we weren’t a bother at all doing so. I am so incredibly grateful for them for all of their hard work, compassion, and for sending us home with a healthy happy girl. Thank you thank you thank you Aves!! We are so blessed to have found y’all!!!

Dr. Sutton and the Neurology Staff at AVES took excellent care of my dog Barkley. I really appreciated the daily updates and the photos I received from Dr. Sutton and Caity kept my spirits up while Barkley was recovering in their care. My pomeranian went in needing surgery for a compound skull fracture after he had been attacked by a large dog and theres no doubt in my mind that he was in the best place possible for his surgery. Theyve given him the best chance at a normal doggy life again.

I brought in my cat for what was potentially a big concern, but thankfully was just an ear infection that was easily treated. They listened to my concerns and what Id noticed about his behavior; being heard and validated by a vet is very important to me. Theyre good at communicating and following up and I really feel that my cat was in good care. I will absolutely keep them in mind for future emergencies and neurological care.

Our 14 year old German Shepherd dog was experiencing frightening symptoms while we were away on vacation and our friend who was watching her brought her to AVES. Within a few hours the professionals at AVES called to give us all the info they could- the news wasnt good, and unfortunately even with extensive surgery our baby couldnt be saved. We were impressed with how extensive the medical procedures were- truly we felt like our girl had been given the best care and our options were all laid out for us. We were able to come back home in time to meet with Dr. Pogue and say our goodbyes to our sweet girl. Dr. Pogue was a calming presence and very kind. She explained she too lost a German Shepherd to the same form of cancer so we really felt like she empathized with us and understood our hurt. We were able to be with our baby for her last breath and tell her we loved her, an experience that was worth more than anything in the world. The financial information was upfront and we experienced zero surprises on that end, which was nice considering our whole world was turned upside down. We truly cant thank Dr. Pogue and team enough. RIP Moe ❤

Walter received great care at AVES. They communicated well before and after his procedure and called the next day to ensure he was recovering well. His dental problem was resolved and he received great medical care. The team also spent time going through the pros/cons of his different treatment options so I could make an informed decision.
