The space is gorgeous and clean, Yvonne was AMAZING she completely transformed my hair which had been improperly cut before.. I got color and a diva cut from her and I’m in love with the results. Everyone in the studio was kind, genuine, and accomodating. One of the girls up front (I didn’t catch her name) was super sweet and fixed my two nails that I had gotten done the day before at a different location. I’ve seen Jessi twice for a Deva cut and color and have been very pleased with her work. She takes the time to really listen to what you want, follows through, and then checks in with you at the end of the service to make sure you’re satisfied (with the reassurance that you can come back if you notice something later). I didn’t feel rushed at all when I provided feedback that I wanted a few more layers in the back at the end of the appointment. She looked at the curls with attention and took the time to make sure I was satisfied with the result. I’ll be back!

Hava helped with my perms and it looks amazing. She’s great with the skills and super careful with details. She designed the size of the curls for my Asian hair, which is normally not easy to take care of. She’s a sunshine to talk to too!

I went in to see Jessi last week for a full balayage. She listened to everything I asked for and I love how my hair turned out! Jessi provided a lot of information on products and my hair type and was super helpful. I went from a brassy color to a nice cool/neutral blonde that I love. I will definitely go back for balayage touchups and haircuts in the future.

Jessi did an AMAZING job with my hair. I have curly, short hair and most hairdressers look apprehensive as soon as I walk into the salon, but she accommodated everything I wanted and really took time to make sure I looked good. Would go back in a heartbeat!

She always gives me exactly what I want with my hair, and continuously checks in to make sure I’m happy with the results for both cut and color. Yvonne works miracles on my hair. She is a master of what she does. Ive been there twice so far, and Ive left more than happy about my balayage. I have medium/dark brown hair, and she made the blonde blend in so smoothly. Its beautiful!

I got my hair done today at Cavalry Salon by Hava and was incredibly impressed! This was the first time getting my hair styled and cut in over a year so it had a lot of breakage and split ends, but Hava worked magic and completely transformed it and Im loving my new look! I was impressed by her warm and positive energy and the overall hospitality of the salon. The 4+ hours it took to get the whole treatment done went by fairly quickly since everyone was so warm and professional. Will definitely be back and highly recommend Hava if you visit this salon!

Update: I returned for regular maintenance and I had an amazing time again! Yvonne takes such good care of me, and she has great attention to detail. She saw a part that she didnt like in my after photos and invited me back to fix it. She really is great and very talented! I tend to like to go a bit darker in fall and lighter in spring, and she helps me to transition flawlessly with minimal damage. She also does such an excellent job at blending that all of her styles grow out really nicely, which means less maintenance required. She is so sweet and accommodating too!Cavalry is a beautiful Dupont salon. It is always very relaxing experience -- wine is complementary with your cut or color! I have been attending this salon for manicures and pedicures for over two years now and every experience I’ve had has been AMAZING! The entire establishment is very peaceful and CLEAN. The sanitization of all the stations, wash bowls, and equipment used is overall superb! I love going to this salon because every stylist and nail technician even the receptionists give great customer service and the price is definitely worth it. Yvonne is wonderful for hair color! I saw the same colorist in my former city for nearly ten years, moved to D.C. and have struggled to find a colorist who was the right match. I lived in DC for three years and spent about 1.5 of those years looking for a solid mani/pedi. Aliya at Cavalry is truly an artist at her craft. I had a great experience at Cavalry Salon! I recently moved here and was a little nervous about finding a new salon. I was able to get an appt exactly when I wanted and was kindly greeted upon arrival. John & Yvonne (who did my hair) were so nice and genuine. Yvonne nailed my blonde (blonde is not easy for everyone & I’m very picky.) The salon atmosphere was great too. I visited on a Saturday & it was quiet and relaxing.

I’m so glad I found this place in DC! After trying different nail salons that weren’t working out for me, I happened to find Cavalry by chance. It’s perfectly located and everyone is welcoming and nice. When I first moved to DC I had the hardest time finding someone for blonde highlights. I tried multiple hairstylists my first few years. I finally found Yvonne and have gone to her ever since! My highlights are never brassy nor too bleached. They always look so natural. She always listens to what I want and knows exactly what I mean. On top of the great highlights, Yvonne and the staff at Cavalry are absolutely wonderful. I would highly recommend Cavalry!

It was so wonderful being back at Cavalry after its doors were shut for several months due to the pandemic. I was nervous to be in an enclosed space but felt such relief when I saw the plastic partitions theyve put up around each nail station separating you from the nail technician, just like at a bank. Theyve also reduced the seating from 6 customers to 3 for manicures so that there is adequate space between people. And theyve spaced out the pedicure chairs, leaving at least 1 empty chair in between customers, in addition to putting up plastic partitions to protect customers and nail technicians from each other. Its a whole wall of thick plastic between you and your nail technician! My nail technician, Aliya, was wearing a surgical mask with a plastic shield on top, in addition to plastic goggles. Cavalry is taking safety really seriously and I very much appreciate it! So glad I went back to see them!

I want to preface this by saying Yvonne told me that she will NOT refund me if I write a bad review. I told her that I would write a completely truthful review and that I would let the pictures speak for themselves. She charged me $410 (not including tip) for this hair. When I returned the day after to have her fix my hair, Yvonne only had excuses.She told me that my hair is too dark and hard to bleach. She said I told you the hair doesnt always turn out exactly as in the picture. This is not slightly different hair than the picture - it is an obviously amateur and blotchy bleach job, to say nothing of the attempted balayage. You can see banding very clearly around the middle and the tips of my hair, even in the Day 2 hair which Yvonne claimed in the salon was perfect and beautiful. I pointed out the obvious banding to her and she said oh, you care about every strand of hair? Yes, Yvonne, I do, but even so the pictures clearly show you screwed up on more than one.I was refunded $400 via Venmo, which is one reason I am comfortable writing this review. However, Yvonne will never be able to refund the lost time, the emotional stress, and the new hair appointment I now have to schedule for myself.Stay away. And, if youre a long-time client, know that they probably gossip about you in front of other customers.

Cavalry Salon is the best salon I’ve ever been to. Tory is the nicest & knowledgeable person! And the salon owners John, Yvonne, and stylists all make me feel at home. I cant say enough amazing things about cavalry (especially Yvonne the salon owner and the nail technician Aliya who I have gone to for years). I truly feel like part of the family at cavalry. About 10 of my friends and I are loyal clients because the salon is always clean and the work is high quality. Aliya makes you feel like the most beautiful person in the world, always has a positive attitude, and does the BEST job. I get SNS because my nails dont hold polish at all, and she makes it so that it lasts for at least 3 weeks. She also fixes any issues if they do come up for free.I have the worst nails and cuticles and she spends however long she needs to making me look great. During these crazy times, they have taken every precaution to keep everything safe (placing barriers between employees and clients, using hand sanitizer and taking temperatures upon entry, etc). I will be a lifelong client!

The quality of work they do as a collective group here at Cavalry Day Spa is incredible. From the phone interaction all the way to me coming in for my appointment and getting through the service is something you will need to experience yourself. I went to Cavalry Salon for the first time today, and had a wonderful experience. My stylist, Penny, was incredibly friendly and did an amazing job with my balayage coloring. All of the staff is also extremely professional and kind, and I will definitely be back!

Paid $35 for the laziest manicure I’ve ever gotten. Was not offered water or anything to drink. Staff did not even properly remove the color I had before which is extremely annoying. She was rude and in a mood. I should have not had had to pay for this. Took photo of manicure and can share. Very disappointed.

Yvonne is the BEST hair dresser in DC. I’ve gone to many different hair dressers and her color and cut is always perfect. The price is affordable and she is very accommodating with my schedule. Highly recommend!!

I have had two haircuts so far from here and I have absolutely loved them! Yvonne has cut my hair both times and she knows EXACTLY what she is doing and cuts my hair exactly how I want it. Yvonne also recommended me a certain shampoo they sell in store for my dry hair. Each time I have been there I have felt welcomed and the salon has a very positive and relaxed ambiance.
