I love Bear Canyon apartments! So friendly, they are willing to work with you on any aspect to the T. They have an amazing maintenance team and wonderful staff. The rooms are quite spacious and beautiful! Lots of room. Pet and child friendly. It is always so quiet and you always feel welcomed. I will definitely renew my lease of need be.
I have toured many apartments and this one is by far the best I have seen in a while. The other places were nice but the staff was not nice and caring like at Bear Canyon. Plus the rates are much better, the other apartments I went to were charging like $1800 for a one bedroom! That is crazy! I can{t wait to move in one day!
Bear Canyon office team was patient with us while it took me a long time to make a decision on which floor plan to choose. They were helpful and stayed on top of everything. Maintenance team is polite and always stops to say hello when we are outside. I feel for them working in this heat but still manages to smile.
Bear canyon is a beautiful property and what a great side of town! I went in during the week to get information, and Jenny was so kind and helpful. She gave me all the information I needed. I will definitely be considering moving there for sure. Thank you Jenny and Bear Canyon :)
After contacting the office in reference to our A/C going down, maintenance had an excellent response time (thanx to Maria & Chuck) and took care of the problem. From what i have experienced thus far It appears that this new staff/ Management who have recently taken over, 😬 are way more attentive and promptly respond to issues concerning your unit as well as the property. I hope this continues in the future, problem solved and they geta A+ from me!😉
I moved in Feb. 2021 and several of my appliances were not in good working order, including my refrigerator, clothes dryer and oven. It was also not very clean and I requested to have it cleaned again. They did fix my clothes dryer and oven door, but the stove is very old and does not heat evenly. The refrigerator, which either leaks or freezes on the inside has still not been fixed. It is now almost 7 months later and I still have to empty a bowl of water every few days from the fridge. The appliances in these apartments are probably 25 years old and are badly in need of replacement. I understand maintenance gets busy, but having to wait 7 months to have an appliance fixed is absolutely ridicilous. I also requested they replace one of my smoke detectors, which is broken to be replaced, and still waiting on that as well. The rent here is not necessarily cheap, but considering the old appliances the rent should be adjusted accordingly or new appliance should be installed. I certainly do not plan to stay here after my lease ends when I can rent similar apartments or townhomes with upgraded appliances.
I recently toured the property and loved the new managment, i really see the improvement from the last time i toured the complex and loved the changes they’ve made. Elda estrella in particular is an extraordinary worker and i loved being able to talk to her about the complex and changes they’ve made!
This is a great community! The office staff is responsive and always kind. The maintenance person Chuck is an all star! He is always friendly and prompt! I plan to stay here for years on end.
The gentleman responded quickly to the emergency and returned the next day to fix it. He was polite, professional and genuinely concerned of issues we reported upon move in. The problem is this was avoidable, all deficiencies were reported not once, but several times. We were promised a nice community, pool, work out room and so far nothing. Repairs were reported and him being a supervisor and not knowing is bad. I’m sure he’s a duty conscious man. I’m sorry I don’t feel that way towards management. This issue amongst others would have been fixed had he known. Yes, after Corona lockdowns everything is messed up, but I signed my name to be charged everything wrong. I did do that and nothing, I expected better from a place like this. I moved in to get away from ghetto type behavior and atmosphere.
The ladies in the front office are so amazing. I’ve been able to move in with zero issues. It’s quiet and quite peaceful at all times of the day. I plan on staying here awhile!
I came to tour last year and didn’t get to rent here because I couldn’t get out of my current lease. I came back and the property looks better than before. They painted the buildings and it looks so much newer. I look forward to living here soon!
Its a beautiful apartment complex but if you have things go wrong in your apartment (believe me you will) expect it to take MONTHS and loads of phone calls and emails for anything to get done. And even then itll get halfway done and then youll be forgotten. The amount you pay is not worth how youll be treated as a resident there. Although the people in the community, those whove Ive met are super kind and friendly. The water was shut off without notice once or twice I cant remember which.I lived and paid for an apartment with a dishwasher and the whole time I was there it did not clean and everything came out dirty and greasy. Unless it was on the bottom rack and only about ten dishes. Talk about a waste of electricity and water! Did it ever get fixed while I was living there despite complaining and requesting it fixed since I moved in? Nope. Its gated but the man gate is never locked at the front and the back is always locked. The dog park is always full of poop. Out of the almost year Ive been there Ive only seen the dog area cleaned 2 times.I noticed just before I left there were some new girls hopefully they get stuff done cause things never got done in a timely manner.
We have been in Bear Canyon for almost a year now. When the lease was first signed in August we had made a point to ask about the pool maintenance. The had told us that “it will be back up in 60 days at most.” That was 8 months ago. The pool is still shut down for maintenance and we have only seen workers there a few times. I have attached a screenshot of them saying it will be available in 60 days as well from another review. I work Monday through Friday from 7-5 and only have the weekends off. I have not been able to use the pool once because the only days that the smaller of the two pools is available is while I’m working and closed on the weekends. Why? What’s the point?Thinks are also breaking all the time in these apartments and maintenance often takes forever to get around to it. I will absolutely not be renewing this lease at the end of it.
Beautiful apartment community! The views of the Catalina Mountains are so stunning! Thank you to the leasing office team and to MEB Management!
We have lived at bear Canyon for many many years and have always been happy here. The grounds are maintained beautifully, the maintenance in the apartment is really good when you call for something the problem is solved very quickly if they can’t fix it they replace it If we were younger we would continue to stay there but we thought it was time in our lives to move back home to Michigan
Beautiful location! Management and maintenance team are 10/10! Always on top of any requests and questions I have. Thank you all!
An unresponsive office staff. Even when you ask simple questions and propose positive solutions to issues they are perplexed
Maintenace was awesome! They are helpful and do the best job posible.
The apartments are beautiful and the staff was helpful. Would highly recommend!
The move in was perfect, the office lady’s are very friendly and we are loving it here!
This place deserves zero stars and an investigation into predatory leasing. My daughter signed a 12 month lease and rented Bear Canyon apt. I was The cosigner on the lease and never occupied the apartment in any manner. Bear Canyon Apartments had my name, address, phone number, and email as a cosigner on the lease. My daughter vacated the apartment at the end of her 12 month lease, paid every months rent on time and turned in her keys, at which point she was notified by Bear Canyon office staff that she was required to give some months notice that she was NOT going to continue her 12 month lease. She made multiple phone calls, which were not returned as far as final billing for the apartment. Neither she nor I, which they had my contact information on file, received any communication until I was notified by the credit karma app that Bear Canyon Apartments had sent to National credit system collection agency in my name a debt collection in the amount of $2669. Again I was the cosigner on this apartment and though they had my contact information they never reached out to bill me or discuss the fact that though they were able to rent the apartment they wanted to collect 60 days worth of rent for not giving 60 days of written notice that the lease that was 12 months would not be extended beyond 12 months. This is a predatory leasing company that takes advantage of leasers and cosigners who do not read the fine print. Furthermore they made no attempt to contact or bill me and instead sent the “debt” for the last of 60 day notice directly to collection. Leaser and co-signer be ware!!!
Advertised as “luxury apartments”Is this luxury?-toilet continuously leaked with no real fix leaving waste overflowing onto floor and carpet-water randomly shut off with no warning/notice nor a timeline to plan. How do I water my animals? Let them drink out of the feces leaking toilet?-3 weeks of Arizona summer with no air conditioning as they waited an extended amount of time to call in a real contractor, instead relying on their handyman to jerry rig a fix each time it broke- paying for a gym that was “under construction” for a year and a half and completely unavailable to residents...still might be. Couldnt tell you because the residents weren’t kept informed on the status of their amenities despite paying for them month after month- residents have very poor access to front office, having to jump through hoops to talk to a real person. Potential residents are prioritized over those already living there.-A “beautiful sparkling pool and spa” but for the residents’ eyes only as it was inaccessible for 14 consecutive months and counting-patchy grass littered with animal waste that would collect flies and infected many pets with parasitesIf I could give a 0/5 star review I would
This place doesn’t care about the tenants. They have had a remodel going on since last year and it is not done. They will not give an answer to when it will be done. Tenants who have been her a long time no are moving out. Do not come here.
This property used to be a really nice place to live in. Ive been here since 2012. When the management team got replaced in 2017 it got a bit worse, but nothing compares to how terribly it is run now by MEB management. They refuse to do any maintenance work. This complex is not new and things get worn out. When they are fixed fast, as it used to be the case here before MEB, you dont notice that. But when there is no maintenance here for 5 months or so you get quite a long list of things to fix, which, either you need to fix yourself, or, if you cant, if say they require additional tools you dont have, or replacement parts not easily available, then youre out of luck. As management said, you just need to wait until the pandemic is over. And that would be ... just a year? Just a couple of years?By May 15, when the stay at home order was lifted in AZ I had a list of about 5-6 items to fix, including no kitchen light, big window blinds broken on one side, toilet not flushing, and more. To clarify on the kitchen light, the ceilings are high here, Id need some sort of a 3-5 ft ladder to get to it, and then under a big plastic cover that Id need to remove and then put back there are long daylight bulbs and starters. I dont know if the bulbs or the starters need to be replaced. There are 2 bulbs, both went out within days of each other sometime in March/April.They refuse to fix any of those. What they dont refuse is to accept my rent in full amount every 1st of the month. And that is while providing less and less of what they are supposed to provide in return for me paying the rent. Around May, 15 when I called the office, Karina, assistant manager, told me shed get back to me about the backlog of work orders next week. Never happened. Around the middle of June, I called the office again. This time Brooklyn, another assistant manager, told me they wont enter my apartment, but she would send a maintenance guy with the ladder and replacement bulbs to hand to me. Never happened. In the beginning of July, I talked to Raquel, manager this time, in person. She asked me for a picture of the kitchen light fixture so that they know which bulbs to send to me. I sent the email the same day. One month and counting - no response. Why I had a chance to actually see and talk to a manager who is always hiding behind the closed door? Because at 5pm she came out of the office to kick out of the 24/7 pool everyone who was using it. Yes, 2 pools that had been opened 24/7 since at least 2012 and were supposed to stay this way when I was signing my last lease extension are now open only 7 hours a day (9-12am and then 1-5pm), 5 days a week. Why? They refer you to the recent governors order on any pool usage restrictions. Of course the order is just an excuse, because it limits the size of groups, not the operating hours or days the pool can be open.As if cutting down the pool hours was not enough, they started cutting down on the pools themselves. They stopped maintaining or cleaning the main pool altogether a couple of weeks ago. Im attaching pictures of how the water in it looks right now. Dont be fooled by the nice pictures they posted advertising the property. Those a pre-MEB pictures.Today, as we have one last pool left, I decided to use it around 4pm. When they need to paint the fence or do some other maintenance in the pool area, and the pool is only open for residents to use 7 hours a day, but closed for 17 hours, plus closed for 24 hours Saturday and Sunday, when would they do the maintenance? As one can guess now, it was done exactly during those 7 hours, so as to leave the residents with 0 pools to use.
Overall a great place.I had just moved here (pre-COVID) and it was perfect for me while I was exploring the area. Unfortunately, once COVID hit, maintenance fell a little short. However, the office ladies are super helpful and work quickly to get things done for you.
He brought the batteries that he needed, popped the cover off the thermostat, replaced batteries and out the door. Took less than 5 minutesVery polite, as always
PSA: DO NOT MOVE INTO THESE APARTMENTS. I have a lot of ground to cover so I will try to keep this short. In the beginning the girls at the leasing office were great, I took care of everything I needed to do and chose a set move-in date. I went into the office signed my lease, and got the keys to my apartment. I spent all day loading stuff up and went to my apartment to start moving in, and they gave me the keys to an apartment That was not ready for move-in. All the blinds were in shambles on the floor not even attached to the window, and there were buckets of paint everywhere. I left them a voice message and called a few times, but I didn’t end up moving into my apartment until two days after my move in date. They gave me false information and said that my apartment was ready to move into twice, and they were so hard to get a hold of. A month into living there they had the audacity to threaten me with a LAWSUIT because THEY FORGOT to ask for my mom’s signature who cosigned for me because I have been waiting to go to basic training for the military. I was literally threatened to be taken to court by their attorney because they gave me keys to an apartment without getting everyone’s signature, which is their responsibility and they let me live in the apartment for a month without even saying anything about it. I SHOULD’VE TAKEN THEM TO COURT.At first glance the apartments look great, but there’s always something going wrong and it is almost impossible to get a hold of the leasing office or maintenance. Maybe they’re so undermanned that they don’t have the time of day to help their tenants, or they are just utterly incompetent. A few months before my lease was up, my roommate had to break the lease early due to some family issues and the pandemic. I have been talking to the leasing office to see what needed to be done, and mentioned more than once that my roommate is breaking the lease early but I will be staying until August 31 which is the end of my lease, I asked them to give me all the information that I would need to take care of moving out. I can understand a 20 day notice of move out, but never once did they bring up to me that you have to write a 60 day notice that you will be moving out when your lease ends. I was also told that I wouldn’t be paying pet rent once my roommate moved out as I informed them that she is the owner of the dog and since she is moving out early, there will be no pets in the apartment. Come to find out there was no memo written and therefore I was paying pet rent for a pet who didn’t even live in my apartment. Due to the global pandemic that has broken out the office is not open to the public, they seem to be capable of sending multiple emails about renewing your lease, but have not bothered to give any information on what I need to do if I will not be renewing my lease. I WILL NOT BE RENEWING MY LEASE. On the off chance you do currently live here, or plan to ignore my warnings and move in, make sure you’re constantly reading every part of the lease because the leasing office is useless and they are not there to help you.
The gentleman that came for our maintenance call was very nice and explained what he had to do in order to fix it and got it done.
Take note: there are so many issues with this place. BEWARE!In the 2 years i lived there i had to make over a dozen maintenance calls. When i left, the dryer didnt work.. They never fixed it due to fear of entering the home due to covid. I also had to replace the smoke alarm myself. The property changed ownership during my stay. The new owners brought in lackluster staffing who dont answer phones and dont like to be bothered. The new owners also allow overcrowding. The parking lot was so full that everynight there are multiple cars parked in fire lanes.Months into my stay, the tub surface started to peel. My wife called the office to have it fixed and the office staff said no need, its normal wear and tear. We also confirmed that we wouldnt be charged for it. They said no. I then called the day before move out and confirmed that we wouldnt have to pay for the tub damage. They said no....I got the bill for $530 to fix the tubs. After calling the office without an answer, I called corporate. They said that without an email showing what the office staff said, i was on the hook for the repair. They didnt list any repairs on the move out checklist, ie: carpet, walls, stove top drip trays. I asked if i could be there for the inspection and they said no due to covid, but entered hours after move out......which would mean covid was still potentially present. They have threatened with collections if I dont pay. There is a list of other issues (pools, gym, gates) that i could discuss if anyone would like to contact me, but I think the above says enough.DO NOT MOVE HERE. IT IS NOT WORTH IT.
I moved here in late March at the start of COVID19 having its outbreak. The office ladies have been very helpful and informative on the different guidelines that they have been forced to follow due to the pandemic. It has been nice to stay here despite everything going on. The maintenance team here has been kind enough to go the extra mile to take care of things around my apartment to fulfill my request. Its been wonderful staying here, and I cant wait to see what Bear Canyon has to offer once this pandemic is over with.
My family loves living here! The kids like the heated pool and hot tub and the movies available for checking out. We appreciate being able to get coffee, hot chocolate and popcorn in the office! Staff is always friendly, grounds are immaculate and residents are respectful. Our unit is comfortable and the views from our windows are beautiful. Management is attentive - any issue we have had has been addressed quickly.
Beautiful apartments! Pleasant place to live!
I have been here for three years and I can say I still love this place. The front office staff is very nice, helpful, professional and always going above and beyond to make sure you feel safe and comfortable in your home. The maintenance team is also amazing! They are always very professional and they always resolve any maintenance issues you may have in a quick manner. The grounds are always kept up and they are always keeping residents informed of changes. I really love it here and am happy to call this place my home.
STAY AWAY! They just painted the buildings but have no concern for the tenants! Never took care of maintenance requests placed in July, even after numerous follow ups. They are overpriced and still charge you for everything, whether you use it or no. They don’t change the carpets when tenants move ( I was charged for carpet cleaning in my final bill... I assumed with COVID-19 they would replace them like the HSL used to when they owned it) COVID is just an excuse not to help the tenants.Ever since MEB took over the place went downhill fast. Pools sometimes cleaned, garbage on grounds, etc. The newly painted buildings is just putting lipstick on a sow!
The move in was smooth and easy, the office was helpful and had my keys and everything ready right when I got there. Apartment was clean and everything was ready to use as soon as I walked in.
Another PSA DO NOT MOVE HERENO RUNNING WATER a day before thanksgiving 🦃Getting ahold of anyone that works here is TOUGHWe had no fridge for a month. MAINTENANCE TOOK OVER A MONTH TO COME FIX. Everything in my fridge was leaking and going bad & you’d think they’d make it a priority to come fix as soon as possible. The office laddies are snobby & extremely hard to get ahold if. Who knows what the are really doing butanytime I call throughout the day they rarely answer. The apartments inside looked great at first. Now everything slowly falling apartthe base boards are lifting ?the windows don’t all lock, you can SEE their sloppy paint job.The celling in my backyard is falling apart not sure if it’s due to water damage or what but they could have fixed it before I moved in.
I will detail my experience from beginning to end. I started my least year and from the beginning I was not able to move in at my scheduled time delaying my move in. When I was able to move in they gave me an apartment that was not well maintained and had not been updated. The stove did not work along with other appliances in the apartment. I was moved into another apartment that also had several other maintenance issues. The windows in my apartment did not work and eventually came off one time I tried to slide it up, bathroom had several issues and it takes forever for maintenance to come fix these issues. I had cloudy water for several months and managements first response was a lot of people have cloudy water. They are never available to answer the office phone and management is very unprofessional. I had several packages that were supposed to be sent to me that were in their office and when I asked management when I would could ge them they said there was nothing they could do about it. I will never live at this property again and I would advice others not to.
Karina Quintero was very helpful & professional during the application process & the move-in. Thanks Karina! Great to be at Bear Canyon.
I’ve lived here for almost a year and unfortunately will be moving in the fall due to my job. The apartment Staff answers questions fast, is very respectful, and always reachable. Maintenance responds to work orders faster than other apartments I’ve lived in. Would definitely renew my lease if I was staying in the area.
Getting maintenance done took over 3 months! We even offered to vacate the apartment to have it done. Just to repair a kitchen drawer! Over 2 months to replace a broken oven door. Im no handy man but what I would have done is get a drawer and oven door from a vacant apartment, replace in the occupied apartment then fix the vacant. Not rocket science!! Finally got a new air filter in the unit for the first time since COVID began. Tennent has COPD!!! I had to call management office and threaten to report to APS, AHCA, etc due to the increased risk that my elderly mother was placed in for the lack of timely repairs. We have been there for 3 years and now leaving. It used to be a wonderful place to live but since MEB took over management, it has gone so far down hill I would never recommend it to anyone!
My Wife and I moved into Bear Canyon apartments in the summer of 2019, they were very accommodating and understanding of my service dog. The staff members are friendly and answer all questions to the best of their knowledge (Thanks Brooklyn and Karina!). The community itself is well maintained and neat. A few months back we had a maintenance emergency and they responded within 20 minutes of our call (it was off shift hours). My wife and I feel safe enough to walk around at night and we love the location, can’t beat the sunset views. So far it has been a peaceful and relaxing place to live, especially since we’re so close to Mount Lemmon.
They start out really nice to get you to rent from them but then they are rude, lazy and never to what they say they will do. They never process the rent payment in a timely manner and they returned my February rent that I hand delivered to them on February 01, 2020 because it was in a bank envelope. I also had no kitchen screen replaced after they painted and called the office 3 times before i had to actually show the maintenance man that there was no screen there at all, the office told the maintenance man that they were not putting in sun screens even though I said there was NO screen there. I also was cooking in the dark because my kitchen light was not working and the office said they couldnt send anyone in to fix it because of the Corvid 19 virus and that they didnt consider that an emergency. So I had someone come in and fix it and it cost me $20.00 which they are not reimbursing me for. They also dont keep up with dog owners picking up after their dogs, there is dog poop left all over the apartment complex. Also one of the office people lives in the apartment complex and doesnt follow the rules of no dogs in the pool or pool area, she had her dogs jumping in the main pool and playing loud music but didnt have the decency to ask if the music was ok.I think Bear Canyon Apartments needs to get more concerned and working office people and if one has to follow the rules then everyone has too. I had young girls throwing rocks at my patio window because I was taking pictures from inside my apartment of them jumping off the flower pot ledges into 5 foot deep water after the pool was locked up, they jumped the fence, nothing happen to them.I know a lot of people that are planning to move out or have already moved out.Upgrade your office and maintenance and you might just get more people renting here.
Wrong floor plan, unclean, bugs - and unfortunately you don’t wanna know what kind either. In toilets, on floors. No resolution thus far. Very unhappy. Only been in the apartment for 4 days. No choice in the type of floor plan, no resolution yet. This is unacceptable.
After searching all over Tucson, I found the place I now call home at Bear Canyon Apartments. I absolutely love my unit and the staff is incredibly helpful. They have made me feel welcomed and are always available as well as friendly. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a new apartment.
I’m moving from Texas to Arizona later this year and excited to say Bear Canyon will be my new apartment home :)! Everyone in the leasing office has been so polite and helpful every step of the way. The apartments are beautiful and the property is well kept. I can’t wait to officially move in August!
I love the staff they are always friendly and very helpful. They always solve any issue that comes up in my apartment. I recommend this property because my experience living there is phenomenal!!
At the end of September we reported that water was from the ceiling, into our kitchen. We had to call the office emergency line, since it was a weekend, but no one replied till Monday. During the majority of October, maintenance could not find the leak. The hole they cut in the ceiling let in warm air and our unit would not cool down, even though our thermostat was set at 63, the apartment temperature was 78. We had to go and live at a family members home for over 2 weeks, since the unit was hot and the cover maintenance used to cover the hole while trying to find the leak, continually dripped water into the kitchen, kitchen counter and into the living room. The water at times smelled like sewage. We continually documented, took pictures and spoke with the front office regarding the length of time it was taking to repair the leak, so we could move back into our apartment. October 22, we received an email from the front office stating that we would get a credit for our inconvenience. On November 5th, I spoke with the office regarding waiting on the credit amount, they stated they were still waiting to hear from upper management. I have emailed and phoned numerous times asking to speak to upper management. To date all I have gotten is an eviction notice!
I could not ask for a better place to live! Beautiful community, exceptional customer service from the staff members and my apartment is just what I was looking for! Highly recommend.
After agreeing on a 3 bedroom apartment with a move in date of the 1st, I paid $100 for the application... Karina, the leasing agent, gave that apartment to someone else and sent me paperwork for a 2 bedroom moving in on the 10th. First of all, wrong apartment. Second, are we supposed to live in the parking lot out of the U-Haul for 9 days? Dont even bother with the app fee for this place! If youre going to waste your money, do something fun with it. Dont give it to Bear Canyon!
Management team needs to work on their communication with the tenants regarding repairs and the estimated time for the repair to be completed, as well as, communicating to the maintenance team the priorities and making sure the estimated repair times are being met. It sounds like to me they are under staffed and spread too thin. 2-3 days for minor repairs should be reasonable and same day for high priority repairs. We waited 2 weeks for a dishwasher repair the first time around and over a week the second time around. This needs to be corrected immediately. I loved living here I really hope this is not the new normal.
When we first moved in under HSL, everything was awesome. Josh took great care of us and the rest of the staff was polite and easy to get along with. If I filled a work order, it was taken care of within a few hours. I loved it. Now that the new management company has taken over, the place sucks. Every time I talk to someone, they are condescending and impatient. I filled a work order at the beginning of the week for a broken cabinet shelf and burnt out porch light and maintenance still hasnt come to fix anything yet. Its been a week, and my husband and I have resolved to just do it ourselves. Our Carbon monoxide alarm went off and maintenance couldnt be reached, so we called the fire department and they had to disconnect the alarm. Also, they hold checks for weeks before depositing them. Not impressed with the new management.
The new management (about 6 months ago) withheld our mail for a month in the office with NO explanation as to why, causing a couple of late bills. The old management always remembered our names and our apartment number. The new owners and employees can never be bothered. But mostly, they contacted me for the first time 3 months AFTER my lease ended and I had moved out, to tell me that they had a collection out for a late payment that I didnt make upon leaving (which WAS made but the paperwork has been lost.) Now I am having to fight tooth and nail to get this whole situation righted.Tl:dr The old management was fantastic, this management SUCKS.
Just wanted to let you know I am extremely happy with my time at Bear Canyon . My water heater stopped working, with in couple hours out with the old and in with a new water heater. Thank you all for the excellent work from the office staff Tiffany and the men in the Maintenance department . Amazing Job Danny well done.Thank yallDon
Very nice and quiet apartments. Peaceful and homey. Definitely recommend!
We lived here for about 2 years and loved our experience! The ladies in the office were always a pleasure, very polite and very accommodating, and had our back when the neighbors below us tried complaining that we were being noisy at times we werent even home. Our work orders were typically addressed that same day or the following day and we never had an issue with getting something fixed or with them charging us for repairs. Literally the only criticisms I have are that if the pool heat was turned on it it was only when the temperature was too cold for me to want to swim and it would have been nice if they turned it on before it got that cold, and our apartment was not as updated as the model (it was still nice) But honestly it is not the end of the world and wouldnt deter me from renting here again. We moved due to military orders otherwise we would have continued to live here
Super nice staff that really help you out, nice amenities in apartments and killer views of the mountains.
Submitted a maintenance request to fix some things in my apartment, they didn’t get taken care of, and my safety deposit was taken because of it. Got an email three to four months after moving out that my maintenance request was finally answered.
Fantastic complex! lived here close to 8 yrs and loved every day of it. the entire staff incl. the maintenance staff were always wonderful to me! will def. plan on returning in the future.
UPDATE #1: (Will continue to update as issues progress):Maintenance came and said that the fan IS working...... He must have not even taken the time to put his hand up to ANY of the AC vents because they have ZERO air moving through them. Leasing office is condescending saying well it IS 58 degrees outside. Yeah well its also #^&&@# raining and we cant have our windows open because its soaking our walls and carpet when we do. The temp in our apartment right now is 78 degrees and rising....ORIGINAL POST:When we fist looked at renting an apartment here we were told that there was a 1st floor available (we have three kids and want to be courteous so 1st floor was perfect). The leasing agent stated that when we applied online just pick whatever is available for a 3 bedroom and they would manually switch it to the 1st floor 3 bedroom that they SAID was available. After paying all of our application fees we were notified (after WE called) that there isnt ANY 1st floor 3 bedroom apartments available.Okay, so we caved in and decided to rent the 2nd floor apartment that we had been told to initially apply for. 4 days before our MOVE IN DATE, they call and tell us that the apartment we applied for isnt available and that they need us to switch to a different 2nd floor 3 bedroom. Okay..... so this is the 2nd time at this point that we have had to switch our TEP, furniture delivery, internet, and renters insurance. We have a co-signer that does not live in the same city and asked if they would be able to send us the lease agreement electronically before the move in date so he could sign it. We were told MULTIPLE times that the lease would be sent on the Sunday before move in. We waited until the middle of Sunday and had yet to receive the digital copy of the lease. We called and called and called (mind you they have answered our calls in the past on Sundays) yet no answer. We drove down to the apartment complex to find out that they were CLOSED.We then contacted them Monday morning to find out that the reason we could not reach them on Sunday was because they decided to start closing on Sundays (on literally that Sunday for the first time). They also stated that they forgot about sending the lease. We have been here now for TWO days and here is what is wrong with our apartment so far:1. A/C does not work (fan wont even move air out of the vents) maintenance has been here TWICE to fix it and we were told this is the only apartment that doesnt have the newer AC models......2. Washing machine will NOT dispense hot water3. No weather stripping under front door (there is about a 1 inch gap where you can clearly see outside)4 This is not a huge deal, but the glass plate in the microwave isnt even the correct one for the model and due to this the plate wont rotate will using the microwave5 Caulking around the tub is cracked and nasty looking (again not a huge deal but a problem nonetheless)So far terrible experience here and it seems like it just keeps getting worse. Also, the management company MEB has stated that ALL repairs that are not emergency right now will not be completed. The thing is there is NO REASON this stuff shouldnt have been taken care of before we moved into the apartment. We are just really disappointed with this place right now, hope it gets better but I strongly doubt it.
Lived here for almost 2 years. Loved the community and the office staff is great! We only moved because we needed a yard for our dog. Pet friendly. AC Washer and Dryer. Heated Pool and Hot Tub. Pool is one 24/7.
Raquel is awesome!! She answered all my questions and i love living here
I’m pleased with the complex and with my unit EXCEPT for one serious problem. I moved in about a month ago. The Carpet is filthy. I was told they would take care of this. I’m still living with dirt left behind by previous tenants. I find this to be Very upsetting.
The apartments I moved into were great I loved the staff, loved the community, apartments were beautiful no complaints. However, after MEB took over. The staff were money hungry and heartless, the called me every week after I put my 8 week notice in to see why I was moving out (because they were too expensive to keep living there and Im having a baby soon) and and they never made me feel at home, anytime Id go to collect a package theyd make me feel as if me showing up there was burdening them. Idk may just be me, but when Hsl was the owner, they were great . The new people may just like certain people over others. Its a nice place to live if you dont have to deal with them
More attention to wasting water on the property is NEEDED badly since they use the RUBS water billing system - an unfair and illegal in some states practice. LESS DOGS - dog owners are only encouraged to pick up their waste, but every day I nearly step in poo left by a careless resident. SO - Bear Canyon should LIMIT the number of dogs living on the property at one time. Its most disgusting and annoying! HUMANS - clean up after your pets!
Office staff at bear canyon apartments of manager raquael alongwith danita and brooklyn are competent and very friendly. tim hicks
In my opinion this complex is going down hill fast. When I first moved in two years ago it was great! They had great communication through email and even had food truck night. The staff was prompt and friendly. They responded to any maintenance request with a confrimation email. They had a fair amount of maintance men and they did work fairly fast. Now its a diffrent management company and this complex is the worst! They have two maintance men and the office doesnt respond to requests, the most horrific is my pest control request that was done online and completely ignored until i had to physically go into the office and it wasnt even in the appointment book. Now my sink has been leaking water underneath and its been four days!! I made a call to the maintance line and left a voicemail. I figured after the request I made online was ignored id call instead. Nope! Had to go to the office in person for this and no one has come to fix it! Pests and leaking water is not what I want in a home. Also after such a huge downward spiral I think this complex is extremely over priced for the lack of service I get. I have not experienced anything but extreme frustrations, worry for the health of my baby with water leaking, and shock at the raise in price for rent.OVER PRICED AND TERRIBLE SERVICE FROM MANAGEMENT! THEY DONT MANAGE THIER MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT WITH ANY PROMPTNESS OR CONCERN! I feel sorry for the two maintance men they now have. They work really hard and are not given the tools to succeed and are over worked as the new management is seriously lacking in professional customer service and weak operation management skills. This is all based off of my own personal experiences and is my opinion I hope you make your own decsions for what is right for you.
Its a beautiful place to live
Went in ready to sign a lease, but the boy they have working in the office treated me like garbage. I have never been treated so rudely -- he literally sneered at me and acted like the questions I asked were ridiculous (when he bothered to acknowledge Id spoken at all). I was stunned. Signed a lease at Summerlin Villas instead!
Everytime I call in a matainance request they make me feel like it is a problem. My air was not working when it was 110 degrees outside. When the old guy came to fix it he ended up yelling at me. Saying I dont appreciate you calling in. I was supposed to go home at 4.
I lived here for six months (June through December) for a travel nurse assignment; my company paid the rent, so I dont know about that (Ive heard/read its high). It is an amazingly beautiful complex, very well-kept. The views of the mountains are quite amazing. It is at the foot of the actual road to take you up to Mt Lemmon - the last apartment complex before you get into really over-priced houses, lol. It is a very short walk to a grocery store, a library, a goodwill, a vets office, a postal annex and several other things in two little shopping centers on either side of the main road to the apartment (did I mention thats also the road to the mountain? :) ).The square footage and storage space in the one bedroom is, I have come to realize, quite amazing and somewhat rare. Everything was newly updated, so it was all quite clean and pretty.Like I said, my company paid the rent, so I dont have any experience with that. When I signed the papers, picked up my mail, and had any other interaction with the office staff they were quite pleasant. Trying to get an extra key-card for my husband was trying (and expensive), so I just didnt; the front gate has a number code and getting an extra key for the walk-in gate was simple, so really it wasnt necessary. The apartment complex seems to have a lot of families; other than kids (not hoodlums, lol, just normal kids) during the day, it was very quiet. We never had a problem with loud parties or any of the other stuff you can sometimes have to deal with in an apartment complex. And we never heard our neighbors, except for the dog occasionally. (I think they might try to put all pet families in buildings together when they can - everyone in ours seemed to have pets, and then there were buildings I never saw pets come out of. Smart.)So, if you like walking to the library, going up the mountain, and can afford to live here, do! :)
I looked at the demo and was told I would have the exact lay out and the paint would be 1 shade darker. It is not the same lay out.No fireplace, no computer desk. The cupboards are worrn and extremely old the stove is disgusting and it is white appliances not black . Th landscaping in the back is rocks sparsely spaced and almost NO shrubbery. The nation screen is torn and it smells of animal urine and feces. The blinds are old and bent.I was told a move in date on the 24th and now it is the 1st. I stormy new job on the 28th and that will mean I need to move AFTER I start my job.NOT acceptableBefore I move in it needs to be what I was told or I will not move in .
The place is a DUMP since HSL took it over..... all good staff are long gone 😒
Handle became detached from microwave door. Handle was no longer available and a new microwave was installed. Problem solved with friendly service, the way it should be!
I would leave zero Stars if I could. Theres no map so you cant find any of the apartments.
This has got to be the worst apartment complex ever. my car was stolen out of what it is supposed to be a secure parking lot. there is supposed to be security guard but I have not seen one. management seemed not o care that my car was stolen two days after I moved in. I will be leaving this place as soon as possible. If could give it less than 1 star I would.
Maintenance leaves a lot to be desired, shouldnt take almost 6 weeks to replace a microwave handle
Beautiful place in and out!!!
