I have lived here for over 5 years and it has steadily gone downhill to the point where I am looking into breaking my lease. Water is shut off for several hours about once a month due to community leaks. Multiple leaks within my apartment currently. Maintenance has also taken a sharp decline. I don’t know if the maintenance team needs more people, but I have long outstanding maintenance issues that have not been looked into, and in the past were marked as completed despite nobody even checking the issues. Currently, window leaks are a huge concern all around the complex, and several weeks later I’m still waiting for them. Today I found a leak in my closet, where the ceiling is also caving in. So that’s great. Don’t move here.(Edit) Other things I forgot to mention. Rent consistently increases despite living conditions getting worse. If you accidentally leave your car unlocked overnight, someone will go through it. One side of the complex never has parking spots open at night and some vehicles are left taking up two spots without ever being moved. Electricity is included in rent, that’s your one positive.

Unfortunately, I had one of the worst apartments I have ever rented anywhere and finally broke my lease after 2 1/2 years. (Of course Im being charged for breaking the contract.) I have had 6 hot water pipe breaks, during two of which I had to vacate my apartment for two weeks at the time while the concrete in two rooms (each time) was dug up with sledge hammers to get to the pipes below the floors. Concrete and pikes of dirt were everywhere. The mess was indescribable. Jessica, he manager at the time couldnt be bothered to speak to me, and Tiffany, the assistant manager at that time, was the rudest and nastiest person I have dealt with when I asked them to put me up in a different apartment during each 2-week disaster. I also requested a lease on a different apartment and was told that I had to buy out my lease if I wanted to move. During all this time, I needed to continue paying rentThose two water floods and four ones after that left my new large area rugs that I had purchased when I moved in originally so damaged that I had to throw them away. My wooden furniture also suffered from sitting in pools of water. There were no apologies made by management or helpful and friendly words offered. Only rude remarks were given and that I should talk to the maintenance guys because they were going to fix the problem. I developed respiratory problems while living in that apartment and suspected that mold was on the culprits. Of course management and maintenance denied this, claiming that the Arizona air would dry out any moisture. The place also has frequent overall water issues, during which water is shut off for several hours. While living at Sunrise, the office team had a variety of different assistant managers and office staff, which for reasons unknown to me didnt last long. My apartment was on the first floor, in an area where residents walked their dogs. Some of the owners didnt bother to pick up their dog messes under my window and patio which often resulted in swarms of flies settling on the piles. Theres more to say about living at Sunrise, but I think Ill stop here. Bottom line is, I cant tell anyone where they should live, but my advise is to check it out for themselves before signing a contract. For me, it was a place from hell

I moved here less than a month ago. I was out of town for a few day. When I came home, my bedroom was flooded. Apparently, when it rained, water seeped right through the window. This is clearly unacceptable. I dont believe that the management was not aware of the problem. They knew that the window was old and needed to be replaced. Yet, they didnt do anything about it. Water damage can pose heath risks. It can lead to the growth of mold. The management needs to address the problem immediately.

I mostly like it here but the water is a huge issue. The temperature is nearly impossible to control. It’s such a first world problem and because of how inexpensive it is to live here I debated for so long if I even wanted to say anything, but it’s getting frustrating. It has taken me several minutes, several times to get the water in the shower to an appropriate temperature. I’ve also had it several times where when I do get it to a good temperature, it will very abruptly get scorching hot out of nowhere, when I hadn’t even touched the nozzles. I’ve had to get out before and rinse my hair out in the sink because I was getting burned in the shower. A “safe” burning point is 120 and we have tested the temperature before in the shower and it has hit 115- so it’s really pushing it, and that’s even worse when it will get that hot out of nowhere. It does the same thing with cold temperatures too. We have asked maintenance about this before and they said there’s nothing they can do which I find slightly hard to believe because it’s 2021. I also reached out to the office about a separate issue over 2 weeks ago and haven’t heard anything back yet.Like I said, it’s pretty affordable here and utilities being included is a huge bonus and blessing.....but the water has me at my wits end. Also, the way rent payment is set up is confusing and not efficient.

The team at Sunrise Ridge Apartments go the extra mile to make this a true community of neighbors and friends. Oz, Alex and Stephanie are just wonderful. I cannot say enough about the positive experience my family had living here. We lived near the stream and there was always a lot of nice kids and neighbors to interact with while playing outside. My kids really liked the ducks that live in the stream too. Sitting outside with a cup of coffee while enjoying the water was a special and unusual Tucson experience.

I lived there in 2017 to 2018. They took my review off. How convenient. The mold was not noticed when I moved in but I got so sick that I could only be in the bedroom. No sensitivity from Jessica. She said when I had problems that they could not make special arrangements for me. MEB was terrible. The appliances were as old as the building. The dishwasher was unusable and noone cared. The stove was difficult to cook on. We had to split the water bill by six apartments. I never showered and took my showers at the gym and my water bill was close to 60 a month. I washed my face in the morning and made tea at night. I could go on and on. There are better places to live.

The water here is a little out of control. Ive tested the water temperature in the shower and it goes from 86 to 115 degrees in a matter of seconds, then back down to 86 in a few seconds, and it will go back and forth like that the whole shower without me ever touching the faucet handle. Even if I do try adjusting the handles, the water is always either freezing or scalding, so trying to set my own temp is kind of pointless. Its really unfortunate to be paying such a high water bill when I cant even comfortably take a shower.

I have been living here just over 3 years. The staff are nice and maintenance is responsive. However, the truth is, at least for my apartment, its old and needs a lot of work. Its clear they have painted over many layers. There is some red that shows through in the kitchen and the bathroom is really bad. Ive asked them to come update my bathroom but they just show up and caulk something to make it look like they did something. My bathtub is so bad, its actually peeling and pieces keep falling off. The kitchen cabinets were bad when I moved in and they are worse now. The hearing and AC run on a chiller so its not what you think. I have the AC set as low as it will go and it wont cool lower than about 80 degrees. The second bedroom is not even usable in the summer. It has a tiny little vent and does not cool at all. Its over 90 degrees in that room at all times. I would not plan that as a room for your kids or other family members. I have asked them about this, but there is nothing they can do...its a design flaw. I have talked to several other tenants and its the same story. I just wanted to make sure it was not just my apartment. I have a great view from my back deck. I enjoy being near the mountains. I work two jobs so I dont get home until late at night and there is never anywhere to park. They have no assigned parking unless you want to pay extra for a covered spot, which is no where near my apartment. They regularly raise the rent, as places do, but they dont invest that back in to keeping the apartments updated. Its not the worst place, just things to consider if youre thinking about moving in here.

So this is my third summer at what I call ghetto in the foothills of Tucson Arizona! I dont even know where to begin so I will begin with the most recent! Every summer the kids play outside my bedroom window, I get to bed anywhere from 4 a.m. to 6 a.m. however at 10:30 in the morning these children are outside of my bedroom window playing yelling! Mind you there is a football field size area to play in just 20 yards the opposite direction, a huge area to play in! So the mother files a police report because I started filming for evidence! And the office management instead of coming to me or even making a phone call to me who is involved in a dispute between two tenants,Jessica Valdez ofMEB MANAGEMENTJESSICA DECIDED THAT IT WOULD BE BEST TO CALL THE LAWYERS OFMEB MANAGEMENT!Yes you heard that correctly as opposed to coming and discussing it with the other tenant FIRST, even though I had already left numerous messages about what was happening. Jessica who manages the property here at 4901 East Sunrise Drive thought it was best to contact the lawyers instead of calling me and hearing my side of whats Happening! I have at least 20 videos of the children screaming and playing outside of my bedroom window even after Ive asked them repeatedly to please go play elsewhere AND explained to the children why I did not want them playing outside of my bedroom window! Also both parents came banging aggressively at my door! So Im just letting you know that if you move here this is what you can expect from management! They will not get both sides of the story and TRY TO RESOLVE IT FINDING A COMMON SENSE SOLUTION!No they will automatically go and consult a lawyer about what should be done! And this could be about anything, know that they wont contact you first they will contact the lawyers first & then maybe contact you, even though they never contacted me! I contacted them! This happened today July 16th 2018 at 4901 East Sunrise Drive Sunrise Ridge Apartment Complex and the manager in charge Jessica Valdez is the one who contacted lawyers instead of contacting me the other tenant and asking me what happened what was my side of the story is and lets figure this out! So what I would do is, I would have called and said hey whats going on I have a complaint from the neighbor and I would have explained everything that Ive written above and then what I would say is lets have a sit-down and I actually have several questions written down.1) did the lady asked you not to play by her house and if so how many times has she asked you to not play by her house and did she explain to you why she didnt want you to play by her house? That question should be fine I have several more but if they can answer those that should give anyone the answers theyre looking for! As I said I have video even today one of the boys purposely sitting outside of my bedroom window rolling on a skateboard! I actually have two videos of that from the young boy today on the skateboard outside of my bedroom window! This all started on July 10th and she called the police on the 12th after I started recording video of them as evidence! As I said even today one of the boys was sitting outside of my window on a skateboard on purpose I have video!Additionally I feel discriminated against as the woman complaining is a white woman and I am a Hispanic female. It feels like Jessica just listen to what that lady had to say & not what I had to I asked Jessica if she was white she said she didnt feel comfortable in answering! Im just letting you know THIS IS WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO ME and this is on top of the facts and the evidence that I have! This situation was handled terribly! I could go on about the water damage I could go on about the mold I could go on about mold in the air vents but I digress! Im very displeased with the response of the supposed mature adults that are supposed to be managing the several hundred people that live here! As I said there is a list of things that remind me of aspects of a ghetto not of the foothills of Tucson! 😐

Great experience for 3 years. I really enjoyed this complex. The staff were excellent. If there was ever a maintenance issue they dealt with it quickly and professionally. The complex was nice and quiet and felt very safe and secure. First year I was on the 1st floor so I had some noise from the person upstairs (as most apartment complexes have). Then i moved to the 1st floor and loved it. I was close to staying longer term other than location vs my work. The rent includes electricity so that is also a large saving. There is no gas to worry about. They charge a fee for garbage, water etc but that was reasonable. I recommend this complex and would be happy to move back and/or stay if it was closer to my work

I really cant give 5 stars, however, because the apartments are so out of date. The kitchens use appliances that are 30+ years old, the bathroom cabinets were cracked and worn when I moved in, and the air never really worked right. I have definitely had my spats with the office staff here and there for various reasons, however, I will say that they have made quite the effort to get in the top shape I found them in when my husband and I moved in over two years ago and they do apologize for mishaps. If you move in, I would recommend that you are explicit about your needs and expectations. In addition, the management does keep the property clean which is better than most places I see in Tucson. It may not be a gated community, but I think the location and free utilities are a very nice balance. It is plenty of space for two people and we have a nice view of the mountains. I dont know about the cockroach situation that other reviewers have experienced, but do try to remember that if you leave your door open to a nice A/Ced room, critters in the heat are going to try to get in past your feet.Overall, a comfortable place to live.UPDATE TO REVIEW 11/16/2014I wanted to add that this place has most definitely been nice. The new staff is wonderful and very much on top of things around here! In response to the water being shut off...it never bothered us. They give you notice and if you work during the day, its not a problem because the hot water is off at 9am and is back on by 3pm. If you are planning to move in, just remember that you are getting free utilities. There is more to this place to the free utilities, but I maintain it is a nice balance. Another thing is that I asked them about roaches and was explained very explicitly that they are coming from the pipes. I was explained that the lack of freeze last year allowed for roach eggs to hatch and come up through the pipes. Im not an expert, but that sounded reasonable to me and as soon as they sent someone in the spray the place, it was taken care of. Overall a safe community.

I would not recommend this apartment complex to anyone. Firstly I would like to point out that their water/ fountain system was, according to them, supposed to be fixed a couple months ago. They claimed they were looking for an eco-friendly solution.. I doubt that because at least once or twice a week we get annoying spam flyers on our door telling us that they are selling pizza at the club house, or some other less important event. They should just send out emails to willing residents. Another huge problem is their water shut-offs. They will probably tell you its a rare occurrence but in the less than 6 months I have lived here the water has been shut off at least five or six times. Half the time with less that a 24 hr notice. Once before a several hour shut off they recommended us fill our tub with water so that we could flush the toilets. Give me a break. Another discouraging trait this complex posses is their unfriendly staff. When you first sign a lease or are talking about joining our community they all seem so happy and jolly, but heavens forbid you need something from them that requires any amount of effort. Their friendly facade soon disappears. Save yourself the grief and money and move in to another complex. This many be a decent location but that is all it is in the end.

And up...and up..and up.Even though I have an invitation to access my resident statement, it is impossible to access it.When I try to login to starlink it wont take my security code or account number.Im assuming it is MY account since I pay the service charge of $4.50 for each statement.$4.50 is $54.00 dollars per year for something ...NOBODY CAN EXPLAIN!This whole program is geared toward one simple thing ..GREED.So if you want to pay through the nose for charges nobody can explain be my guest. It seems they just dont care about long term residents. They just keep gouging ..taking advantage of the shortages in rental housing. It is actually cheaper to buy rather than rent in this town.

This place is awful. Avoid it at all costs!! We have loads of horror stories that we could tell from living here, but they wont all fit in this review space. To make a long story short, the management is terrible. The neighbors above us smoke pot and drop glass onto our porch regularly. The neighbor 2 doors down has a dog that howls and yaps for 9-14 hrs/day making it impossible to be anywhere in our home without wanting to lose our minds. The dog is audible from the streets and you can here it over the TV/music/etc. The management knows these things and theyve actually told us that they arent going to do anything about it. They truly dont care and are just interested in collecting their rent check and being done.In addition, a pipe burst in our apartment a few months back that destroyed several hundred dollars worth of our things. It ruined the carpet and created holes in the floor. The bathtub was never painted right so the paint is coming up. Large roaches are frequent here, despite spraying and cleaning often. The water a couple days ago was BROWN and its not uncommon for them to turn off the water with no notice. Its also the norm to go a month without any air conditioning while the apartment reaches 90-95 degrees in temp. Management has now come back asking for an increase in rent to renew our lease for a place that has decreased significantly in value. Total joke!Im sure theyll do their usual comment telling us to come in to chat, but its all for show. Ive been renting in the Tucson area for 6+ years and never have I dealt with more disappointing and incompetent management.

Guest of Tenants at Sunrise Beware!!!!!. My daughter is a tenant at Sunrise Ridge Apt and my niece and I went to visit her. Our first day there we were there we were entering my daughters apt when the General Manager appeared and started questioning us about who we were and what we were doing at this apt and how long we were staying. I told her who i was and that if she had questions about our stay she should ask my daughter. She got very aggressive and demanded that we answered and that she was going to have us thrown out of the apt. I told her that it was bad form to come to a tenant apt to question her quiet law abiding guest. She left. Afterwards I went to the office to explain that we were upstanding people. She said she called the police on us. I have never heard or seen anything like this. By the way my neice and i are full on Black and my daughter is mixed and appears Caucasian--- may or may not be a factor.

Stay away. I gave it one star but I did like the people working in the office. It is MEB and the new manager is so much MEB instead of people and their needs and concerns.I had a faucet that constantly leaked and due to the budget of MEB I was to wait a month for total replacement. MEB finally gave in. There is so much more. I lived in an apartment that it was either mold or chipped paint from the baseboards that made me very sick and I was getting blamed for it because my windows were opened so I could tolerate it enough to survive. I wore a mask. I did not realize when I first moved in how much needed to be done to the apartment that was not done prior to me moving in.The baseboards were caulked and black in the bathroom and the baseboards in the kitchen were badly chipped along with the dining room prior to my moving in. The entire apartment needed a painting prior to my move in. I did not notice it all until the first week I moved in. I ended up breaking my lease.Another issue is their utility water bill. You share the water bill with five other apartments and even if your usage is very low you can be paying over 60 dollars for any month. Stay away from any MEB properties.

Staff is very nice and helpful when you are initally looking to move in. As soon as you sign, all of that changes. Dont fall for untilites included for Free nothing is free. I lived here for 2+ years my rent amounts were anywhere from $15-185 dollars higher every month and they would make up some B.S reason why that happens. They will make you sign documents at the begining that say they have the right to charge and do what ever they want and you can not hold them accountable. I spoke to 10+ tennants they all have Bed bugs in all of the apts. That is why they offer pest control also free but they will bill you for it. Dont believe the pictures and fake reviews. I fell for it. There is a reason they are cheaper than any other apt in the vicinity. I can go on for days.. Trust me Stay away if you can.

I use to love living here because the area was nice, rent was affordable, utilities came included excluding trash/water, and staff was friendly. Presently this is not the case! A while ago management had changed at the leasing office and everything went down hill from there. Ive lived at this complex for a couple of years and I have never missed a payment but every once in a while Id get notification from the leasing office that they made a mistake and to make a payment right away or they will start charging late fees. I would like to single out Tiffany in the leasing office as being one of the rudest staff members to deal with as she will talk to you in a condescending tone but will try to wrap it up with have a nice day. I also am not sure how the leasing office is with vetting residents anymore because it use to be a quiet and friendly complex but now there has been an increase in theft, the laundry room has graffiti, my neighbors car was stolen, Ive heard screaming in the middle of the night, and my wife has me walk with her now because she gets watched/followed by newer residents. Lastly I would like to touch on maintenance. Sunrise Ridge is an old complex so I dont expect it to be in top shape but it constantly has hot water go out, electricity goes out every so often, ceiling tends to leak, and my most favorite is they decide when to turn on the air conditioning in the Spring so you can go a couple of weeks living in an apartment miserable. The rent cost and free utilites should not be a selling point to anyone trying to find somewhere affordable to live because you will be miserable here and it saddens me because it use to be a great place to live.

PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THESE REVIEWS! The Majority of these things have happened to me and other residents I know. The cockroaches are a huge problem and when you ask them to fumigate the apartment it will take them weeks to go and do it! The heater thing is another problem, this year got really hot starting January and they didnt swap to AC until mid February… all the residents were complaining and they didnt care! BUT THE WORST OF ALL, IS THE MANAGEMENT. DEFINITELY – “Avoid this place if you like your credit -- They will claim you have late fees and try to keep all of your deposit when you move out. The Manger is shill and rude, like the rest of the staff.” TOTALLY TRUE!... I HAD A SIX MONTH LEASE AND THEN I MOVED OUT TO THE SAME APARTMENT COMPLEX BUT OTHER UNIT. I DIDNT HAD ANY CHARGES AND I WAS GOOD TO GO. ONE MOTH LATER THEY ARE NOW CHARGING ME $630 FOR A CARPET THAT WAS CLEAN AND THEY CHANGED 3 YEARS AGO. THEY ARE THREATENING ME SAYING THAT IF I DON’T PAY THE AMOUNT OF MONEY WITH MY NEW LEASE THEY WILL CHARGE ME WITH LATE PAYMENT FEES WHEN IM NOT REFUSING TO PAY MY NEW RENT… THEY ARE THE WORST PLACE IN TOWN.. STAY AWAY!

This apartment complex has a lot going for it. #1 The apartments take advantage of a hilly site, eliminating the feeling of cookie cutter construction that many big complexes have. One of the first things that you notice, when visiting, is that the buildings have different angles to the street and to each other. Each building has individual landscaping that varies the trees, the shrubery and the walks. There are different creek landscapes and fountains. There is greenry where ever you might look. Sunrise Ridge landscape does not look like the desert it is in.Some of the apartments face outwards to the perimeter of the grounds and some face inward toward roads and parking. In no case, do you look into the neighbors window from yours. It seems that privacy was part of the plan here.#2 There are 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom apartments, and each provides a smart use of space. Livingrooms all have doors out to the patio or balcony and also a front entry. There are windows the livingroom, the kitchen, and in the bedrooms. All windows are openable for fresh air and are furnished with shutters in each room. Floors are carpeted throughout, making the space flow. (No stingy storage space here) Theres storage next to the front door, a pantry in the dining area, storage in a central hall connecting the bedroom and bath. The bedrooms have walk-in closets. There is also a storage closet in the patio. These are my reasons for moving in. You can really have a life here!#3 You cant talk about a place to live without talking about the people. The people here are wonderful, friendly and real. There are social functions put on by our office staff and continous celebrations by the City. First you attend a cookoff or a pool party here, then meet enough people to find someone to go to the next arts festival or music fest downtown. These occasions are publicized in our Sunrise Ridge Newsletter or the Tucson Weekly, which youll find in our mailbox area.Ask the Sunrise Ridge leasing manager to explain why our heating and cooling costs are so reasonable. I dont completely understand but I can only tell you that it has something to do with steam. You wont find more cost effective utilities than you do here. How can you ever say no to a tour of Sunrise Ridge? Ill see you then.
