I really like this gym. Its in the median range for price per month at $40, but I definitely feel like I get a lot for what Im spending. The equipment is all brand new and they have it well spaced out so you dont feel like youre on top of one another. The variety of free weights, machines and cardio equipment is awesome too. You dont feel like youre doing the same exercises every other week, which definitely keeps it interesting.

The best gym in Syracuse! Apex is an amazing facility overall with three floors of clean and high quality equipment - and a lot of it! Even on the busiest days, youre never waiting for a machine. No matter what your goals are, the gym offers a wide variety of options for you to use to reach it. They also have a TON of classes to choose from - all of which have been great.Apex offers top notch staff - these people treat you like family as soon as you walk through the door to sign up. The manager, Josh, is a staple to the facility. He is clearly well known and liked by all members, which is something you dont see everywhere.Ive also been working with Shawna, one of their Bionetics specialists/trainers, and she is the the absolute BEST. She takes the time to teach her clients how to improve and strengthen their form to get the best and most sustainable results possible. Shawna has also helped me with my posture and completely eliminated my wrist pain associated with being on a computer all day. You can tell she loves what she does and quite frankly shes amazing at it. I never thought I would have a trainer, but Im so happy I made the choice to work with her. It has been well worth the investment!

Great gym and excellent classes. Always clean and plenty of equipment with the three floors. the turf area is also very good for some soccer drills and any sort of running exercises. Best gym Ive ever been to and impossible to beat at the price!

By far the best gym in Syracuse. APEX is an amazing facility with great management, staff and trainers. All three floors have brand new machines and they have so many of them so you dont ever have to wait for a machine. The best thing is that they offer free classes that are ran by energetic trainers. I have been a part of a lot of gyms, but APEX by far is on another level!

Great selection, just not the type of place for an average person looking to get a workout. Theres a lot of large and intense people working out which can be intimidating. Had one bad experience with a trainer so I stick to the group classes but they usually only have 2-3 others in each class. Some classes are cancelled at the last minute too if an instructor doesnt show up.

I have not been a member since I moved out of NY several months ago and cancelled and now I get a charge on my card for $150. Nobody answers when I call to ask about it, so I will have to have my bank refute it. Watch your cards closely if you cancel your membership with this gym.

Athletic Apex is a state of the art facility with both top quality equipment and personal trainers. The club is welcoming and makes you feel as though you are the most important member. Having been a member since the day it opened, I have been nothing short of 100% pleased with all aspects of my club experience. Shane, my daughters personal trainer, is knowledgeable about the anatomy of the human body and uses the perfect combination of challenge and praise when working with her. My daughter has already started to see results from her time spent at the gym translating into increased ability in her figure skating. Give Athletic Apex a try and you will find it is unlike any other club youve been to. If you are looking for a place that truly cares about your success, Athletic Apex is it!

For me to say I love this gym is an understatement. I’m usually very critically but when I walk though the doors I actually feel welcomed. This establishment is clean and the equipment is up to date! The staff is friendly and helpful. I never feel like I’m being judged which is important to me because I’m trying to better my life. Also big shout out to Ahmed for helping me get started and always being help whenever I come in!

I took a tour there with my husband and we loved it instantly. I’m not one to usually feel comfortable once a gym, but the whole staff made me feel welcome! Vanessa gave us a tour and really made it a great experience! Very energetic and passionate! Hoping to try out their boot camp on Saturday mornings soon!

One of the nicer gyms/fitness clubs I’ve experienced in the Syracuse market and even other markets as well. Holds its own if not out competes against Golds gyms and many of the LA Fitness gyms I’ve been a member at. Josh and his staff at Apex do a great job making this gym feel like home and welcome everyone with open arms. Definitely setting the tone for fitness clubs here in the Syracuse area. I absolutely love this gym. The equipment is the best around, they have the best of the best. You know when you walk through those doors youre going to have a killer workout. And the staff there is so friendly, they make you feel like youre part of the family. Overall, this gym is worth every penny you pay for, you wont regret it :)

Was a great gym. Till they decided to inform us all a day prior that they were closing. Transferring my annual membership to a gym that is even more out of my way. I sent an email trying to get a refund, nothing came of it.

This place is fitness nirvana. Large variety of classes to choose from. Has every kind of machine imaginable and a plethora of free weights, including actual barbells, Rarely have to wait for a piece of equipment. The staff are all very nice and it’s super CLEAN. Love this place.

They have dedicated trainers that care about your well-being and who you are as a person. Call them day or night and they will be there. The management staff works countless hours building a successful brand and understanding you must fight to succeed. They are the kings of the jungle, lions till the end.

If you have not signed up at this gym yet, you are missing out! By far my favorite facility in this area and even compared to others I’ve been to elsewhere! It is equipped with EVERYTHING you need, from free weights to a wide variety of machines. Not only is the equipment top of the line, but Apex offers everything from Starbucks coffee, all the shower necessities, spray tanning, and more! Ive been a member at many gyms in Syracuse, but Athletic Apex is a just a whole new level. All equipment / weights / machines are new and the best available. The facility is huge and has everything. Very clean. What really sets it apart is the staff. Very friendly, upbeat, knowledgeable and fun. I chose to do Bionetcs Personal Training with Shane. I cannot say enough about it..... Life-changing. I just really like being there.I highly recommend checking it out.

This gym is great. The equipment is in good shape, and the convenience of it being located in Destiny USA is also a plus. Staff are friendly and the gym is kept in good shape. I appreciate the variety of machines, workout areas, and types of workouts I can get there.

Apex is truly top tier. They offer multiple training areas, innovative equipment that cant be found anywhere else in Syracuse, and more than 50 group exercise classes each week that are included in your membership! I was shocked a year membership broke down to only $33 a month. Forget about waiting for the squat rack, Apex has THREE FLOORS of space and equipment for members to use! The team is knowledgeable, cutting edge in their training, and supportive of whatever your fitness goals may be. Whether youre just starting out or a high level athlete youll find the right level of challenge at Apex.

I’m a novice when it comes to the gym. So I was intimidated when I saw the size of the gym. I didn’t know how use all their equipment there. On my first day an employee by the name of Paul greeted me. He asked if I had been there before and I admitted it was my first day. He offered to show me around and how to use the equipment. I was so grateful for the offer. Now I feel more comfortable with my workouts. The place is clean and the rest of the staff is friendly. Anybody can find something they like here.

A great gym with a huge variety of brand new equipment. Dumbbells up to 200lbs and machines you won’t find anywhere else. Lots of space and everything is always clean. All of the staff loves the fitness lifestyle and can help you with any questions you may have.

One of the best, if not the best gym I have been to. Everyone there is like a family, and treats you like it. The staff are awesome, the facility is huge, you never have to wait for any machines as there is multiples of everything. This gym really is special. I drive 40 minutes to it everyday to train, even though there are other gyms much closer to me. Definitely go in and check it out.

Fell in love with this place the day I got the tour. The staff is great, it’s aesthetically pleasing and the atmosphere in here will make you want to push yourself to reach new fitness goals. Some days after I’m finished working out I’ll find myself looking for extra things to do just because I’m not ready to leave yet aha. There are a plethora of machines here so you’ll rarely have to wait for something to open up. Parking hasn’t been an issue for me which was one of my concerns seeing how the gym is located at Destiny USA. I’m glad I joined the Alex family.

Athletic Apex is a state-of-the-art gym in CNY. There is no other gym like this around. The equipment is out of this world; some new pieces that I’ve never seen. The staff there is very caring to help out and always checking equipment and water fountains to make sure they are exceptional. I’ve been to many gyms throughout college and around the Syracuse area but nothing compares to this. Great environment with even better equipment and machines. You’re missing out if you don’t have a membership here yet. Last but not least lose the stigma of “i don’t want to go to the gym at the mall” I’ve been a member since before they opened and not once have I felt like I was at the mall or felt the need to walk around it and the parking is great.

Best health club around the area. Membership includes all classes and child care. The facility itself is very clean. Love the complementary coffee and towel service. Syracuse was in need of a good gym, and here it is.

Athletic Apex is something Syracuse desperately needed . This fitness club has state of the art equipment, staff, and a wide variety of classes for everyone. The management at this club is excellent and questions or issues are addressed immediately showing me they put their club members first ! All in all, the atmosphere at Apex is excellent and couldnt ask for a better home gym. Well worth going to check it out!!

Athletic Apex is an amazing facility with great management, staff and trainers! I’ve had such a great time working along side Shawna one of the Bionetic Trainers who’s taught me some killer workouts to strengthen my troubled areas such as my back, wrists and hamstrings. The environment is very welcoming and the staff helps in every way possible for new members to feel comfortable and never discouraged. I feel right at home whenever working out there!Their 3 floor facility is perfect for anybody of all shapes and sizes considering all of the amenities they have such as heavy and light weight lifting zones, the turf, multiple cardio zones, all of their classes they offer! Definitely recommend joining to everybody I know!! Come join athletic apex 😇Most importantly, Joshua Haan the Regional Manager is a huge asset to the gym! He’s personally taken time out of his busy schedule to show me around the entire facility, paired me with shawna to train with, and goes above and beyond for his members. I’ve worked out at both Aspen and Golds/elevate and I have never experienced such amazing customer service from a Regional before. It’s so important to establish rapports with your members and he’s definitely impacted many of our fitness journeys and is a very important part of why Apex feels like a second home.

Love love love this gym! I love working out but the Apex has made it so much more interesting with the wide variety of machines, weights, equipment, ect. They have equipment that I havent seen at any other gyms as well. And so much to choose from that I havent had to wait for machine yet.Also a desiding factor for us was that our kids love going. Before we were at the Y where sometimes it almost seemed unsafe with the amount of kids they had. We would also have to bribe them sometimes to go. As soon as they went to the Apex they asked if they can go everyday. The workers are great with the kids and even actually play with them. And its a great motivator when your kids ask you if they can go to the gym.

Incredible gym with everything you could ever want. Enough machines so you never have to wait, dumbbells for miles on each floor, plenty of group x classes every day, and so many nice amenities (Starbucks, towels, body scans, showers w/ shampoo cond. ect.). The turf area is great with a lot of fun pieces of equipment like tires and sleds. Everything is nice and everything is new. So happy to be able to work out here as it is a great workout every time.

I signed up for a membership for Athletic Apex at their Destiny USA Mall location a few months ago. They were still under construction and took a longer then expected to open. I actually moved farther away during that time they were getting ready to open and since the projected time was off I forgot about my membership status since I no longer worked at that Mall. I noticed I was charged for a member fee after they opened, but I never attended that gym. I talked to the Sales/Operations Manager Brett Shevich and he was very understanding and helpful regarding my membership and the fees applied to my bank account. Not only did Brett go above and beyond for Customer Service he even notified me via telephone when he was able to cancel my membership and reimburse the member fees that were charged on my account. I checked my bank account 2 days later and the money was already in my bank. Brett was very helpful and professional about the situation and I will be looking forward to signing up again in the future since I just started a new job in Syracuse.

The ground floor has a great cross training area. The cardio equipment has Bluetooth. The staff is really helpful.The only thing this gym is missing is a pool.They definitely make up for that by having everything else at your fingertips.

They keep charging my card after I cancelled. Cancelled my monthly membership in June(~$35/month). In December I was randomly charged $264. I called and they couldn’t explain what it was for. Had to go through my bank to dispute charge

This is a long(ish) but in-depth review. If youre thinking of joining this gym, please give this a read. :)This. Place. ROCKS. I go to SU and didnt see the point of joining an external gym (off campus), but Im SO glad I joined Apex. They thought of EVERYTHING then designing this place:Forgot your shower stuff? They have towels and shampoo, conditioner, and body wash (that actually doesnt destroy your hair and makes your skin soft). (Side note: the first thing I do to determine if a hotel/house/place is clean is smelling their towels, and Apexs smell so good. Yay.)Forgot your earbuds? Their music is so good (I actually stopped listening to my own music today because I liked what they had on so much.Need a coffee break? Theyve got Starbucks and a little coffee lounge.Need someone to take care of your kids while you get a sweat on? They have a kids daycare-esque area.Want a tan? Theyve got spray tans (for free in membership).There are SO many classes to take, too. Its unreal. From boot camp to barre, you will DEFINITELY find something you love.In addition, it is INCREDIBLY clean, theyre open almost ALL the time, and if you work in the mall, you get your registration fee waived.Here is why I couldnt give Apex five stars:The staff.Ive only been there for a little over a week, and I get this popular kids in high school vibe. I feel like theyre in own little clique and not very welcoming to guests and sometimes each other. Some examples:- In a boot camp class, the instructor was texting. I just found it kind of rude, because with this, he always didnt seem stoked on the class...which is strange, because its BOOT CAMP! Shouldnt the instructor be the most intense one on the turf?- In another class, I overheard the instructor talking with someone about how she felt like she wasnt going to get the job here because of how she looked. In my eyes, this says a lot about the instructor — kind of negative and gossipy (why would you discuss this in front of guests?) — and the Apex team (if this was in fact true, thats REALLY low: giving off a vibe that you wouldnt hire someone because of how they look).- I spoke with a guy at the front desk today, and he seemed REALLY unfriendly. Again, I want to keep this anonymouos. I tried to make small talk with him, and he legit ROLLED his eyes. I kind of laughed it off. He didnt really look at me when he talked to me — he looked forward at the iMac. I felt really devalued.- I went to get a spray tan, and the girl who helped set up the room mentioned something in the room looking a little ghetto. Like, girl. Were in 2018. Please be more mindful of your language.- Ive taken six classes with five instructors, and only one introduced herself to the class — Kelly in her spin class.I come from a background of customer service, and I think that helps and hinders my evaluation on places. I truly LOVE Apexs amentites; there is nothing like it in Syracuse. Im incredibly gratefuly for my membership, and I look forward to working like I never have before. But, I would really love to see a better sense of camaraderie staff to staff and staff to guest. Doing so will only elevate them to being the best health club in Syracuse.If things change, Ill write another review.
