My trainer was amazing! He took the time to not only get to know my goals but he took the time to see why I had those goals and who I am as a person! He was very motivating and I felt it was genuine and I wasnt just another client that I was Lisa! If I could score him higher I would!
I am absolutely loving my PACK Membership! I first got hooked during the Corp Fit Challenge (January 2019), and I look forward to these small-group style classes each week. Theres just something about the classes thats been an incredible motivator. Each class is different, even if youre training with the same trainer and attending the same times each week. Heres why: Even though you might be doing the same things and working the same areas, the trainers really put put thought into running you through different circuits, routines and exercises so each PACK experience feels unique.As someone who looooves cardio, but may not be as comfortable when it comes to strength training, these classes have been a Godsend. They successfully blend both elements, and - even more impressive - theyre fun! Combined with a reset on nutrition awareness and mindfulness, these classes have helped me lose 25 pounds since January! Christian was our Corp Fit Coach, and hes been fabulous. I appreciate how he took the time to learn our names, and continues to check in with not only our progress in PACK, but how were doing in our day-to-day lives as well. The other trainers make a sincere effort as well!Kudos to the Metro Fitness team for being welcoming and delivering a positive, friendly gym experience without being intimidating. :-)

I have been a member at Metro for twenty plus years. It is a great work out facility with great people! In particular, I have been doing personal training with Frank the Tank for several years. He has been exceptional to work with - he knows his stuff and regularly challenges me to go to the next level and to work outside of my comfort zone. He listens to my goals and helps me achieve them and pays strict attention to proper form and technique and provides me with valuable pointers along the way. His Pack classes are challenging and provide a great work out with other club members and there is always a lot of camaraderie among the participants! He makes each work out session enjoyable and fun and we have a lot of laughs! Additionally, Gioia Gensini is a fabulous member of the Metro staff. I have attended many of her classes and she is extremely knowledgeable, truly cares about the Metro members and is energized and very motivating! She takes the time to explain things to new members about her classes and makes everyone feel welcome no matter what their level of fitness may be. Finally, I have made many great friendships with Metro members and staff over the years. It is a great place to work out and I highly recommend giving it a try!
Working out at Metro Fitness has completely changed my life. I’ve spent the last ten years trying to get back in shape on my own and was never able to make it happen. So I started going to the Pack classes at Metro in late 2017 and dropped 30 lbs in just a few months; far more important, my overall fitness level is the highest it’s been since college. I was on path to all sorts of health problems and Metro helped me turn everything around. The instructors at Metro are the key. They keep you motivated and excited. They push you to be your best self. No workouts are ever boring or stale. I can’t recommend Metro highly enough!! Great equipment, facilities and staff.
I have had an amazing experience at Metro. It is an extremely welcoming environment filled with friendly faces and great attitudes from the staff and members; trainers and front desk representatives take the time to get to know you on a personal level. I enjoy the privacy and respect I receive being that Metro is a privately owned gym; it never feels crowded, and members are conscientious and focused.Over the years, I have come in to try almost everything the gym has to offer. Ive worked out on my own, trained with my own personal trainer, participated in the classes that have been offered, and even tried some pack training in the turf studio. Metro truly offers everything possibly needed for you to reach your fitness goals, and I have never been left unsatisfied!
Love the downtown club! Clean, Modern, GREAT STAFF!...friendly, helpful, efficient, fun, enthusiastic. I started personal training twice a week with Emma probably about 8 weeks ago, now she has left for a lttle while, turning me over to Jake as of two weeks ago. Both have been just terrific, helping me lose over 20 lbs (along with some better eating). I feel great, have increased energy and drive, sleeping better and actually feel like Im mentally in better shape too! So glad I found this club and these great folks. :) !!
My workplace recently participated in the Corp Fit challenge. Our team of ten truly bonded over the course of six intense weeks of training. By the end of the challenge, we performed even better than we’d hoped. Personally, I exceeded my greatest expectations. The challenge was fun, rewarding, and a great way to build employee teamwork and camaraderie. Special thanks to our team coach Frank Rey, who pushed us to be even better than we thought we could be.
I recently signed up for a membership at Metro and they have a great atmosphere, very clean and the staff and trainers are amazing. If your looking for personal training, hit classes, spinning classes, yoga classes, pilates classes, boot camp, body building etc. this is the place to go. I would definitely recommend!
I’ve been a member at Metro Fitness for years. The downtown location is so convenient it allows me to get my workouts in right after work. Great facility. Equipment is in good condition and well maintained. I started working with a personal trainer last year and it has helped me increase my fitness level. Staff is very accommodating and friendly. Great vibe in the club and can support any fitness level from casual to very intense. Nice variety of classes too.
Metro Fitness Club has been incredible since I joined. They have enough room so that it never feels crowded and plenty of equipment to get in a great workout. The staff has always been very friendly and accommodating. This is the best gym Ive ever been a member of before and would recommend it to anyone.
I have had the pleasure to work with a personal trainer for the past several weeks. I have enjoyed every aspect of it. Josh has helped push me through the pain of getting tired, he does not let me quit, he helps me push through. If the exercises seem to be a little to intensive for me he has changed up the training until I am ready to move to the next level. I also enjoy the atmosphere of the club as well as the amenities that go along with it. Every person has made me feel welcomed, every staff member has made me comfortable. What I like even more is that they have a variety of different programs all in one facility that I can grow into as I work to achieve my goals.
Ive been a member at Metro Fitness (formerly Personal Fitness) for the past year. They offer personalized attention in a professional, executive-style fitness setting. The staff is committed to making fitness fun, whether in group classes, personal training or other, specialized programs. You always feel welcome -- never intimidated; however, the trainers there will kick you into gear when you need it to reach your health/fitness goals. They help you to succeed and that makes you want to push harder! Incredibly convenient for downtown workers and residents, they offer great amenities and a fantastic array of equipment and group classes so youll never be bored. Five stars for sure.
Friday spinning with Debi at 5:15 am is a great wake up call to get your engines revved. Awesome instructor!
The Metro Fitness Club in downtown Syracuse is both pleasant and serious. The atmosphere is very welcoming and hospitable. The trainers are respectful as well as friendly. I am particularly happy with my personal trainer, Josh Stoll. He is incredibly thorough and has adapted my training routine to my age and to my needs. He is both focused and flexible. I can recommend him AND the facility very highly!
We had Jake as a trainer and he was fantastic. The program was challenging but not impossible. It was always challenging but at the same time comfortable and enjoyable.
I did the Metro 42 program and the results I got were amazing! I have done different 42 day programs with other companies in the past and was able to achieve similar results but in the end the mindset and food program were not sustainable. I liked this program better in that Metro came in with realistic goals and taught me how to carry on the benefits of the program well after it had ended.
Great gym with even better people. Had the awesome experience of participating in the CorpFit Challenge this fall and our entire HR One team had a blast. The gym is extremely clean with new equipment and locker rooms for members to use. Id recommend both the downtown and dewitt locations for anyone looking to get a good workout in.
This place is much more than your average gym. From the moment you stop at the front desk until you leave, every one that works there is so friendly and supportive. The fitness classes are very effective, the trainers show care and concern for all. Definitely take advantage of them all. The ladies locker room has a sauna and a relaxation room. Its so comforting, you dont have to hide or be uncomfortable. Metro fitness has a program they offer 4 times a year, Metro42. ..you work out with a group and get nutrition information, advice and support for 6 weeks and can easily lose 20 pounds. If you follow their guidelines and workout its not as hard as you think it could be, because you have so much support from everyone; your group, your trainers and the owner Randy. If you get a chance go visit. Meeting Randy and his staff will make you feel genuinely welcomed.
I’ve been a member of Metro Fitness for 13 years and have had great relationships with all of my trainers. I currently train with Josh at the downtown gym. He is fantastic. He understands my fitness goals, and plans out different workouts every session, always with my best interests in mind.

I am training for the military and notice great improvement in my personal fitness since I started at Metro. I have gone here for years and highly recommend it. The gym offers a variety of exercise options including personal training, small group training and classes. The staff is amazing and the gym (including the locker room) is always clean!
METRO 42 Program - Getting fit for my wedding!With my wedding approaching, I knew I wanted to look/ feel great on my big day! I heard about Metro Fitness through a co-worker who had, at the time, just successfully completed the Metro42 body transformation challenge herself, losing over 20 pounds. It was very exciting and motivating to see and hear about a success story firsthand, rather than just through a story you read online and wonder “there must be a trick,” or “did they really lose weight healthily?”The Metro42 Challenge has changed my life. It is definitely challenging (the name isn’t a joke), but you can’t ask for a more supportive atmosphere at Metro Fitness. The trainers are encouraging and structure the workouts to accommodate all fitness levels. Patrick helps guide you through the nutrition training, which surprisingly, was not as impossible as I had expected . I have definitely taken on a new lifestyle, not just another fad diet that I have tried so many other times. Most of all, being part of a team that is all working towards the same goal is truly inspiring!I lost 21.5 pounds and nearly four inches off my waist during the Metro42 Challenge!! I still have work to do, but I can’t describe how good it feels to be over the first big hump. It is incredible to lift a 20 pound weight and realize that—less than two months ago—I weighed that much more.I can’t thank the Metro42 team enough! If you are even thinking about trying the Metro42 challenge—do it! Six weeks go by in a flash and you don’t want look back six weeks from now wishing you had done something about that unwanted weight. It took me several years, but I finally beat the vicious cycle!

Randy and his team are THE BEST. While my weight fluctuates, as a result of their hard work with me and their patient encouragement, I have lost some weight, continue to work toward losing more but overall, I am healthier and happier. Working out with my trainers puts me in a better mental state to start what are always stress-filled days. I am so glad that I found this facility and the people who work there. They are all wonderful, talented and know their profession. I feel safe working out with them and hope to have many more years to do so, largely as a result of Randy and his team.
I really enjoy working out with Marc. He pushes me very hard, far harder than I would push myself. He frequently changes up my workout so it never gets stale. Most of all he forces me outside my comfort zone. Ive made a great deal of progress since I started working with him and look forward to making even more.
Awesome CorpFit experience!Ive been working out at the Metro Fitness club in Dewitt for a few years and have already shared my positive experiences working one-on-one with the personal trainers, but this fall several of my coworkers and I participated in the CorpFit program at the downtown club. What a great experience! Working out with a team is a totally different experience, encouraging one another, building each other up, and knowing that you need to rely on one another to accomplish shared goals was not only a great fitness experience, but an awesome team building one as well. Our trainer/coach, Josh, put us through some excellent workouts, and had us doing exercises and routines where you were dependent on your teammates. As a human resources professional it was a tremendous bonding activity, and I think it really helped us get more comfortable working with each other and strengthened the working relationships. I cannot recommend the CorpFit program enough!
I have been going to the Metro Fitness Club for about a month now and absolutely love it! The staff is very friendly, the facility is very clean and inviting. I love the group classes, especially the Body Pump Class with Ashlea! If I had more time and lived closer, I would spend much more time there. I really like how they spotlight a member each month and everyone has the option to post a note on the members poster. What a great way to boost enthusiasm and community amongst the members. The facility is very welcoming and has many services included in one location: group classes, weight loss challenges, personal training, and much, much more! The group class schedule is accommodating to all schedules and offers different classes at different times on different days. You should check it out! They offer some great deals for newbies!

Metro Fitness a one-of-a-kind fitness experience. It is a hybrid gym with a plethora of equipment for cross-training, weightlifting, and strength training. I truly enjoy working out here, and got a membership as soon as possible. They even give you a pass to try it out for 3 days for free - what have you got to lose? Exercise at metro.
Ive been going to Metro Fitness for over a year now and I cannot say enough wonderful things about it! The staff are amazing, friendly, supportive and welcoming. The classes tailor to all fitness levels and, unlike other gyms (I put gym in quotes simply because this place is more than just a gym) Ive been to, I feel completely comfortable there. I never second guess what I look like, how well Im doing or what Im wearing - there its all about discovering what were each capable of and never about comparing ourselves to others. I never thought Id actually become a member of a gym, but now I cant imagine a time when Im not!!
As someone who works downtown, Ive been a client of Metro Fitness for over 3 years and found it to be the perfect balance of convenience, knowledgeable/friendly staff, and great facilities. The group classes are challenging and scalable to your fitness level, but the instructors will push you to be better each time. From the owner and trainers to the staff at the front desk, it seems that the entire staff is genuinely invested working to help people get the most out of themselves and their fitness goals. I joined Metro Fitness Club in October of 2013. Since then, Ive taken classes and am currently participating in the Biggest Loser Challenge. In all, Ive lost 25 lbs since joining this gym and have made many friends through their group fitness classes. The trainers are supportive and know you by name and truly want to see you succeed in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I recently signed up for their small group fitness program and cannot wait to get started!
This fitness club has the most professional staff, nicest facility, and greatest variety of any place Ive been a member of. You might pay a little more per month than other places ($10-15 depending on where you look), but its worth every bit! Ive never had such a good experience at any fitness center or gym, anywhere. Highly recommended, especially for those who work downtown. With its central location, I can easily work-out before or after work. Good locker room facility as well. If youre looking for a place to join in Syracuse, Id give Metro Fitness serious consideration.
CorpFit was a great experience for me and my team. It brought together various teammates (male, female, young, seasoned) who may not normally work together. We enjoyed the fitness aspect, social aspect and the competitive aspect. Metro did an awesome job hosting the competition - thank you Coach Frank and Randy. We look forward to the next CorpFit competition!

Karens Tuesday class, Strength and Balance, is always well worth attending. She prepares and plans the 50 minutes so that we get a thorough workout that is a little different each time, never boring, always productive.

I completed a 6 week CorpFit course with Metro Fitness. During those 6 weeks I had full access to the gym and once the course ended I couldn’t stay away. I’m now a full member and get to enjoy every workout that I put in as well as the professional and courteous staff that comes with it.

Metro Fitness is the total package when it comes to quality fitness centers: friendly staff, well-trained instructors, challenging programs, a beautiful facility, and FUN classes! I would highly recommend their body pump class; it was something completely unique that I would have never tried without Randy’s promotional classes that he offers. They have state of the art equipment (including the new small group training studio currently being built), not to mention the spa-like atmosphere of the locker rooms. I always have a pleasant experience thanks to Randy and his staff.

Metro Fitness offers a wide variety of equipment, is incredibly clean, and has very convenient hours. The staff and personal trainers are extremely helpful, and offer many fitness classes that range from Zumba to HIIT to yoga, as well as personal training sessions. Overall a great gym!

I joined Metro Fitness one year ago this month. My sister was getting married and I wanted to lose weight before her wedding. In the first 6 weeks I lost 33 1/2 pounds with their Metro 42 Body Transformation challenge. Once the challenge was complete, I kept going and eventually lost 55 pounds overall! The staff there really takes an interest in their members to help keep you on track and motivated. It is not just a gym they have so many classes to choose from including Yoga, Pilates, Body Pump, Spinning, Zumba, and their pack training is a great way to keep yourself accountable and to work out with a group. There really is something for everyone and every fitness level and their hours make getting a workout in even easier. I encourage anyone who is looking for a change in their lifestyle (big or small) to stop in and see what it is about! You will not regret it, I didnt. Ive kept the weight off after a year and am even training for a half marathon this summer. All thanks to metro Fitness and their team. Seriously, dont wait, this was the best decision I could have made for myself, and I promise you will not regret it!

Im not a gym guy. I joined because this isnt a gym, but an executive fitness center. The staff has been helpful with my introduction to the facility and equipment. But what Im really enjoying their Metro42 Callenge - - 6 weeks of intensive workouts and advice on diet and lifestyle changes that will make sure the 14 pounds I dropped the first 3 weeks dont come back the first three months after the program ends.

Four years ago I started working out with trainer Patrick Flaherty at Metro Fitness (formerly Personal Fitness) and have been extremely satisfied with the results!Patrick focuses not only on physical fitness (strength training and cardio) but also on diet and proper nutrition. Patrick and everyone at Metro Fitness genuinely care for their clients progress and well being.I am a healthier person now at fifty than I was ten, twenty, even thirty years ago. My physician tells me I look fantastic, my vitals are very good, and healthy eating and exercise are incorporated into my daily routine. Before I could barely run 3 miles. I have been going to Metro Fitness Downtown for over two years. I started going to enhance my joint strength and stability due to a medical condition and was told Pilates would be best for me. At that time I started working with Ashley, and then with Lily in the Pilates Studio. I also work out with Jade to improve my muscle strength and tone.These ladies keep me honest and keep me on track for where I need to be to keep myself together and to help my muscles keep my joints intact. As a matter of fact, the entire Metro team has been so supportive of my journey I’ve decided to work on my certification to become a pilates instructor myself!Thank you team Metro for all your patience and hard work! Love the flexibility of having Syracuse (downtown), and Fayetteville (east) gyms to go to. I use both regularly. Too much to say... too few characters to fit.Syracuse (downtown) great executive feel with hard wood paneled walls on 1st floor gym, but not pretentious and open to everyone - love it; and East is great with traditional gym look/feel and track (unusual find - great in CNY to have in winter) to run/walk on - fantastic.For me the facilities and staff exceed expectations... do it on your own, have trainers, or classes (Ive done it all - fantastic)!. Theres something to compliment your own goals (fitness, mobility, weight loss - up to you). I can recommend trainers....Something for everyone old/young/middle-age. Love the fact Ive worked out with people in 80s to teens and all are welcome regardless of fitness (Im not fit or a young spring chicken. :-( but trying - probably representative of unfit/overweight population trying to do something about it... so join me). Ive worked out with people like me that, have work to do and not the young fit-body characters on fitness posters.... LOLGreat equipment and facilities... ohhhh, the facilities arent normal. Towels, lockers with locks/keys, steam rooms, soap, shaving cream, mouth wash, and even queue tips! What Gym has all this?!I participated in Metro 42 in 18 and will do again in 19! Metro 42 is a great fitness, weightless, mobility cross-fit class great for all ages. Ive been in classes with 80 year olds to 20s where you can adapt each station to meet physical fitness/injury needs. We can do this!Im a fan of Metro, its customers, trainers, staff, and Randy (the owner) who are all great people. Ask for Randy if you dont feel you are getting the experience I have.

I have been working with personal trainer Ashlea Youngs at Downtown and she has helped me reach my goals and make new goals consistently. I am the strongest I have ever been..I have gained 12 lbs in about a year and got skinnier. I lost inches and I did eat a lot. It is very satisfying to see myself getting leaner and stronger. So thankful to Ashlea for always accommodating me and Randy Sabourin for partnering with my employer to do this Corporate Wellness Program. Cant wait to see what another year of training will do.

I originally worked with a trainer at Personal Fitness Programs and ended that around 16 years ago. I had two young kids then and figured I didnt have the time. BIG MISTAKE! About 18 months ago I realized I needed to start something again - I work in Downtown Syracuse so gave Randy a call. He connected me with Tony Romano - and you could say the rest is history - (Still being written) but that wouldnt tell the whole story.My wife joined me at Metro - she too works with Tony and also with Kathleen Frizzi who introduced us to Pilates. We were both happy with our progress but realized we should buckle down and do better.January 11th came and The Metro Biggest Loser - we met two great ladies who with my wife and I formed a team working with Tony. I will let them speak for themselves - but I have lost 17 pounds as of last week and the biggest benefit is that my blood glucose levels have gone down to where I have been able to reduce my insulin levels. One week to go so hoping for even more! My hope is that I can continue this progress with Tonys assistance (and my wifes) and eventually get rid of the insulin.There are a lot of clubs around Syracuse that tout personal service - but Metro has excellent equipment, excellent trainers and for my purposes there is no where else I will go!! (And Kathleen - I will be back to Pilates after BL!)
