Located in the new terminal (Terminal B) at Norman Mineta San Jose International Airport, Alaska Airlines provides excellent service up and down the west coast, as well as, Hawaii and Mexico. The SJC station personnel are the best!

Great airline, great legroom and great service overall. Mu left was comfortable, left right on time and was such an easy enjoyable experience that flying should be. The only negative which was initially a positive was that on my second leg of my journey a tailwind brought us in 45 minutes early, only to have us wait on the ground that much longer as there were no available gates open. Also, what happened to the free pretzels, its only a bischoff biscuit now.

I do not think any other US domestic carrier exists that offers better service, comfort and an overall enjoyable flying experience than Alaska Airlines. We are talking a clear leader in service and delivery of customer satisfaction.

Alaska Airlines was absolutely amazing! I sent my unaccompanied 14 year old son on his first flight ever to visit his father in Texas. I was extremely nervous and was basically a waaaaay to overprotective mom. I purchased the unaccompanied minor service to make sure my son made it without a problem. AA did an amazing job at making me feel at ease leaving my son in their care as well as making my son feel like a #1 priority. AA also informed his father during the flight and let him know what time they would arrive. They were very attentive and provided a great customer experience overall.

On the morning of 8/24/19 I was one of a group of six Asians checking in at SJC for an Alaska Airlines flight. Amy, arrived first and tried to check her bags at the kiosk but had an issue and printed out labels for another two friends instead of her own. My wife and I experienced similar problems and were also unable to print luggage labels.The three of us then proceeded to the counter to check in for the flight before the rest of the group arrived so we would not waste time. Amy approached the counter and encountered the Alaska Airlines representative who loudly and repeatedly asking for our identifications which we handed over without delay. Amy tried to explain to her what happened at the kiosk. The rep ignored this, said she couldn’t find our names, and asked for the name under which the flight reservation was made. The AA rep showed impatience with Amy who was having a hard time understanding her demands. With her sighs and eye rolls, I got a vibe of the rep being irritated and annoyed with Amy because of her accent. Then I stepped in to try to mediate and clarify. I tried to explain but she did not seem to care or understand about our problems with baggage labels. The AA rep’s response was that “the machine only does what its told to do”. At that point I was irritated and upset and told her she should help solve our problems instead of being difficult. At that moment Bee, whose name the reservation was made under, walked up to the counter. Then an argument broke out and I walked away as the AA representative was showing her authority instead of helping us. She summoned her manager and, after a private conversation between the pair, we were informed that we had been denied access to the flight, that our tickets were forfeited, and our fares were not refundable. At no time did the manager ask us what happened or talk to us at all.Many other passengers that arrived after us were checked in and got on the flight while we were enduring this bureaucratic hassle. As a final annoyance, Amy’s bag was checked in under the wrong ID and was put on the AA plane to Hawaii. I told the manager there are two sides to any story and, before stealing our fares, she should have at least spoken with us, asked us what had happened, and used this to inform her decision, rather than relying only on her co-worker’s version of events.Then I asked the manager to help us find an alternative flight from Northern CA since there were no more flights that day from SJC to Hawaii. She gave us a list and, after waiting for almost one hour to be informed that Amy’s bag was on the plane to Hawaii, we took an Uber to SFO. We all purchased new tickets that day to from SFO for a flight out to Hawaii. On arrival, Amy had more hassle to pick up her bag since it was tagged with the wrong name.This was a frustrating start to our vacation. It was really disappointing to experience this ordeal while both the representative and her manager were from ethnic minorities as well. Instead of trying to be patient and understanding they were unfriendly, unprofessional, and irritated to an irrational degree with difficulties which ought to be an expected component of their jobs.

I want to start off writing that our flight from Newark to SJC was delayed over an hour. On top of that, the flight was overbooked. Once we boarded, we were then told that there was no overhead space available over our seats (we had one carry-on for three people). Throughout the entire flight, the staff was incredibly rude even in the simplest task--distributing drinks. Would not recommend unless this is your last resort.

My first time flying with Alaska Air. It was enjoyable (as much as a flight can be) and the staff was courteous and friendly. Ill definitely fly Alaska Air whenever the opportunity comes up in the future.

They didnt put in a wheelchair request for my mother when we landed which was a bit messed up for them to do....but I appreciate how easy it is to check your bags in and staff are nice.

Aircraft maintenance issues? Both our flights experienced delays due to mechanical troubles. It is worrisome spending 6 hours at the gates looking at the mechanics repairing the engines. Oh, and did I mention our package missed the flight, and we had to wait until 11pm to receive it?Customer service was great though, very kind and they dont hesitate to apologise and offer coupons or reimburse for delayed baggage. So thats +1 star.

This review is a combination of Alaskan Airlines and the SJC Airport staff. The SJC Staff begged for carry ons to be loaded below the plane or we would not be able to take off. I and about 15 others volunteered. Once on the plane, we were told there was a delay while they moved commercial weight off the plane. Upon arrival in HNL, every person that volunteered were missing their luggage. It arrived the following morning. I would not have volunteered if they would have been straight with me. Then they would have been forced to actually move the commercial weight.

Have to pay extra for everything. Very unorganized. Landed in international had to walk several blocks outside to Terminal B to find luggage on unmarked carousel.

$25 a bag to check in and they have a cut off time and eventhough you have plenty of time flight doesnt takes off for almost an hour they still wont let you check in. And this is why i fly south west.
