This service is a giant rip off. They are the only high speed option in the area so you have no choice but to use them (monopoly much?). They offer fiber internet, but charges per GB. What is the point of fiber internet, up to 1GB per second, if you are paying $0.20 per second of usage if you actually used that speed!? Fiber enables you to watch a 4k movie, too bad that costs you nearly $5 to stream a whole movie in 4k. Want to stream live content, another great use for fiber? It will cost you more than you can make doing it. Most games are digital download only these days, thats going to cost you $10 extra just to download it. Call of Duty has another 30GB update (usually bi weekly?) $6 to update your game. Buy a new video game? They dont offer any type of flat rate option. They advertise as if Wide Open is a great deal because there is no data usage limits. Not one wired internet plan Ive ever had throttles data. Century Link is by far the better option if you dont need low latency, there are no data limits, and you can at least stream 1080p without costing yourself a whole car payment for using the internet after work to watch Netflix, Live TV, or for mild gaming.... Mid Rivers, you should offer a flat rate package, even if it means sub 100mbs speeds (which still gives you 4k streaming). your Wide Open service is 100% a ripoff if you use the internet more than 5 times a month. God forbid you work from home...

The price is ridiculous. Normal internet use for a family (streaming, minimal online gaming) is more than 300 USD per month. Unfortunately, Centurylink has no coverage at my home. This will never stand in other states!no flatrate option is pure rip-off. why not offer flatrate even for 100-150 USD?

Mid Rivers has the most exceptional customer service of any ISP I’ve ever used. They have no problem getting you the help you need. A service technician named Eric came out and diagnosed our issues within minutes. Our problems were fixed immediately and our speeds are better than ever! THANK YOU MID-RIVERS! From a previously disgruntled customer to a customer for life! WE APPRECIATE YOU! ❤️

The Wide Open Internet service plan is by far the best and most reasonably priced internet plan I have ever been subscribed to. I have lived in a few large citys that dont have plans near this speed available. The also got me set up with only a two day wait, usually it takes more than a week in other areas. Thanks!!!

Costs a ridiculous amount. The speeds are very good when it works but for 2 days strait now i disconnect 15+ times an hour... I have also went into the store to pay my bill 3 people on the phone no one even acknowledged me so i walked out and came back another day.. The install took 3 days and i ran the coax cable myself (It was winter time) but that is no excuse. I am tempted to go with out internet...

The per gb service is a robbery. Modernize your service please, its a joke. I do online schooling and stream on twitch as a hobby/side job. The size of my bill is insane and for the speeds its not worth it.

Many people are unhappy with the per usage charge. For me, it worked out great. Granted, I watched Netflix, Hulu on low resolution (good enough for me). My monthly bill was always around $30. Ive lived all over the place and my usual bill is around $100.

I run one console and 2 cellphones. I was told that this plan is perfect, and Im glad to say the area Im in now can is capable of centrylink! Cant wait to cancel my plan that cost $200 that has such poor speeds. Iv seen better internet speeds at fast food joints. This company cares only of money with all the fees (per mb and the static $20) they have more deeper pockets then they do servers to support the already overcrowded ones. Dont buy it people use one of the many other companies. Not gamer friendly.

Garbage...would not wish their service on my worst enemy. The techs no nothing, and each time they come out we get a different answer. The prices are just stupid for the quality you get. By that I mean the internet is always going out and it takes them a few hours to fix it..this happens 4-5 times a week, 1-2 times per day...think about that for a second, do you want to pay for something you cant have all the time, me neither.

Worst service I have ever received called multiple times trying to get my deposit back. Moved back to Texas and have been given the run around multiple times. Do not recommend this provider to anyone who is up there working in the oil field considering that most workers up there are out of towners. They are a monopoly company in the Richland county area and take advantage of it. Charge high rates that are outlandish along with horrible customer service.

Insane price, terrible reliability. Youd think paying $400-$500 per month just for internet would at least get you solid uptime. Nope.If youre a Gamer who downloads games, like most these days prepare to be bent over. Each game could cost upwards of $20 to download and updates have cost me up to $8. Something like Netflix in high quality is going to run about a dollar per hour. Its not difficult to see how quickly a bill can rack up. This monopolistic price gouging needs to be illegal. As for the reliability, the lines on the wide open plan are so oversold you can expect anything from 200mbps at 4am to 6mbps at peak times and often the line just dropping all together for hours.

In the age of streaming Netflix, Hulu, cable services, etc..., its a giant ripoff and screw you to the customers when you charge an archaic per-GB plan. I have lived all over the world and the only businesses that have done that to me are cell phone companies. They monopolize the area, therefore are able to charge whatever they want. I tested the plan for one month. Two TVs stream Netflix (on low settings) a few hours a night, give or take, with next episode autoplay turned off, and the bill was $140. The trade-off is faster internet. I dont need faster internet. 10-20mgbs is fine, as long as I dont have to worry about what the bill will be at the end of the month. Needless to say I will be cancelling my service until they begin pricing like every other internet company that exists and stop gouging their customers.

No competition in Sidney mt they charge way way too much. If you decide to get cable its over 100 plus for junk channels in my opinion. So if you stream all your tv like another commenter said its a 1 dollar per hr if not more. If you have a 4k tv one episode 45 mins of breaking bad is 30 gigabytes at .20 a gigabit is 6 dollars per episode on a 4k tv. One month my bill was over a 1000 dollars my 4k tv some apps wont let you tv off 4k unless you go to there websites netflix wont let you do it in app on my tv.

Had to pay a 200 dollar deposit because I refused to give this shady company my social. When I discontinued service it took two weeks for them to disconnect the Internet and two months later they still havent returned my deposit. I think this branch is on the verge of bankruptcy.
