This property is beautiful. The amenities are also great with pool, club rooms, gym AND yoga. You cannot beat the views either. Little Italy has some of the best views in SD and Valentina tops them all!The manager and team are so kind and responsive as well. Two thumbs up here.

I went on a tour of this building with Rebecca and was impressed not only by the customer service but every small detail that makes this building shine. The gym has all the work out equipment you could want and is brand new. The common spaces are great for hosting friends - both at the pool and for a bbq. I was impressed with how spacious the actual apartment living spots were with all upgraded appliances. For the price point and location it’s definitely the best I’ve seen!

I cannot express enough gratitude to Natalie for how much she has elevated my experience living here at Valentina. Her energy is impeccable, she really cares about the needs of each tenant and is very professional. I looked at several if not all of the apartment buildings here in Little Italy. When I came to view Valentina, Natalie showed me a place that felt like home, so now it is.

Natalie O’Brian showed me around here last Thanksgiving. She was so much fun and so helpful in the middle of very challenging times. She is the main reason I decided to move to Valentina when I was relocating from Northern California. Since I moved in Natalie and the whole team (Priscilla, Rebecca, Ramon and Flint) have all been incredibly welcoming and very helpful.I’ve now been here just over 3M and I couldn’t be happier about my decision. Thx Natalie

Imagine buying a Gucci bag and when you get home and open the box theres actually a Michael Kors wallet inside. Thats what its like living in Valentina in 2020. All of the 5 star reviews are extremely old and outdated, back when the building ACTUALLY cared about residents. Valentina is EXTREMELY overpriced, especially for how they fail to cater to residents. They set the price high to attract a certain crowd but fail to do their part in catering to that certain crowd. When you bring in a certain crowd you should prepare to meet their basic expectations. They charge the MOST when it comes to rent, but give you the LEAST for your value. They have concierge but they never have solutions when you have a problem, they just want to fill the building up. Thats their focus right now. So, please dont fall for the daily happy hours and activities either because those stopped a while ago. They have done 1 event during the pandemic. They gave everyone ONE can of cheap wine from the super market. We all couldnt believe it. How does it sit well with someone to literally knock on someones door and bring ONE DRINK. A building that calls themselves LUXURY BOUTIQUE brings you a can of beer. Why even offer?Theyre having a terrible time filling up the building because of how over priced it is. Also 1 side of the building has balconies literally blocked by a new build. And the rest of that side of the building is about to have their balconies blocked by yet another build, so great MORE construction. The whole Valentina property is just a poorly made investment that is being terribly ran. Half of the building will eventually face either train tracks, or be blocked by a wall, once the new second building blocks that side of the balcony. There is also plenty of outdoor space for them to have brought back yoga but why even ask. Oh and now they want us to start taking our cardboard trash all the way to the trash room for them. Again youre paying High rent for a luxury boutique building but hey throw your own boxes out downstairs! Just a tip to management and investors: Just because you absolutely overpriced your units and are having trouble renting out your building, your current residents should not have to suffer the consequences of your decisions. We pay high rent and we have high expectations. If you want to charge the insanely high rent that you do, then you should also at least try deliver on the value as you once did.

Valentina is a great place to live. Rebecca and Natalie’s service is outstanding. They are very responsive and take extra effort to help the residents. They are very friendly, professional and personable. Thanks! Same goes for Priscilla who recently transitioned to the staff and cares very much for her coworkers. The apartments are very nice and quiet with beautiful views of the bay. The entire complex and associated amenities are clean and well maintained. Too bad with Covid closures, access was very limited and I didn’t get to enjoy them like I want to. The residents there are also very friendly. It is a great place to live. I guess I already said that.

Bottom line up front: Renting here is ultimately not worth the price you pay UNLESS location and views are of the utmost importance to you.Wife and I have been residents here for three months, here are our unfiltered thoughts. Recognizing some of it is not completely within the control of Valentina, however it doesnt prevent it from subtracting from the perceived value of being a tenant here.Views/Location: 10/10, enough said. Close to I-5, naval bases, and walking distance to food/coffee/everyday stuff.Ambient Nose: 2/10, the noise around this building during daylight hours and primarily into evening hours is simply too much. The building is built and orientated in such a way that it allows noise to be amplified from the street and the park across the street, especially for rooms facing the water. Trains, Airplanes, Boat fog horns, street noise, screaming from the street, all noticed hourly.Safety: 5/10, Location lends itself to lots of homeless. One of which was tragically found dead last week right in front of our building. Judging by the police response, looks like he was unattended too for quite some time. Not sure how that speaks to our overnight security services. Doors are often left open and/or people allow tailgaters to get into building.Interior OPS: 3/10, Packages/deliveries are a problem here for a multitude of reasons, and its hard to have security over your deliveries If you have high value items arrive regularly, defer them to other drop off points. Not all packages are guaranteed to make it into a secure locker, and/or be brought to your apartment to be signed for. It is also difficult to receive guests/visitors on this property smoothly due to poor interior design and call system.. Maintenance has been quick and friend on 2/3 service requests. Most of the office staff is attentive and pleasant to interact with. Elevators are glitchy, and in 3 months weve seen them stall out 3x. Building heating/air of common spaces is awkward and inefficient. Heat will turn on in the building quickly and stay on, yet windows in common spaces will remain open across the building. Since weve been here the water to the entire building has been shut down 3x for approximately 8 hours each time.Actual Apartment: 5/10, generally speaking, nice interior and appliances but you can tell the building and rooms were built quickly with less than average QA/QC. Corners were cut in many places. Washer and dryers are awfully loud, almost make internal living a no go if they are on. Interior closets are almost non-functional as doors block drawers, completely ill-design. Internet is fast.Amenities: 2/10, Given the current pandemic, they are simply banned from use, which isnt symmetrical to other buildings/hotels blocks away from us. The measures are super strict even with outside patios which is simply unfortunate. Weve also been told the building has not kept up with social events during covid, for obvious reasons, but there is no reduction in rent from amenities/events (which costs money) being turned off. When they open back up, im sure this score would rise.Parking: Straight forward via 3 underground levels. Spaces are sized well. Given the arrangement of the building, it is hard for temporary parking (food drop off, etc), and deliveries have to block traffic or risk parking in hotel next to us.MISC: Pet friendly in the sense they allow animals, but force a $50 per month per animal, which seems aggressive, with no extra value added for pets in common spaces. With that said, pets pee/poop right outside the entrance/exits, and it often smells like a litterbox, especially when its hotter outside.Id like to give a longer review but google only allows so much.ETA: 4 Month Follow Up from Original ReviewObjectively, while Ive had meaningful engagement on one of the concerns below (package delivery/people flow through building), the end result has largely been a miss with minimal resolution. And the remaining items highlighted above have not been addressed.

This is a beautiful place to live with great location and amenities. Unfortunately, the new Covid restrictions are limiting common areas of the building Hopefully, management will find ways to quickly adapt... update: Which hasnt happened. Not sure why the pool and fitness cant be open all hours. No covid restriction there other than cleaning.

I am moving to San Diego from across the country. Natalie and Rebecca went above and beyond sending me photos and videos of numerous apartments. They were very patient with me as I couldnt make a decision. They were by far the most accommodating leasing agents I encountered and I toured around twelve apartments around town. Besides the leasing staff, the building is absolutely breathtaking, boasting gorgeous views of the bay! I cant wait to call Valentina by Alta home!
