I can’t believe all the negative reviews! I have been a loyal customer here at Hector Nails and every time they do an amazing job! I’ve had multiple of the workers work on my nails and I have never had an issue, that’s also bc I can be very picky! I always get coffin shape and they always look very nice, today I came in right before they closed and the new lady (didn’t get her name) did my nails and painted my toes she was sweet the entire time! I will forever come here! The customer service is great.😊 the nude short nails are the ones I just got done today!

I came in around at 12 am today (a Sunday), I was greeted, signed in, waited for 15-20 minutes. I knew exactly what I wanted and that’s what I got. I was helped by ms.ivy . She did an amazing job on my square nails. Reasonable price was $80 and everyone was friendly.

Hector Nails was amazing experience let me tell you it was the best nail shop I have ever been to since moving to San Antonio when I say the manager was very very professional in her work. She made sure I was happy 😊 ☺ she did a wonderful 👏 😊 Job on my nails and was kind and talkative even the young lady who did my toe nails If you are looking for a great nail shop I would recommend Hector... So amazing I love they way they did the ombre they were so gentle and sweet I walked in and they greeted me and I love everything about them I will be definitely coming back!

It was nice. I dont really do my nails ever, so I dont know if Im the most qualified to say how excellent a job they did, however it was pretty painless, they did cut my cuticle, but its ok it happens. They didnt really try to talk to me, which I appreciated my nails turned out ok I think, and my girlfriends nails turned out pretty nice she got a dip power and I got a manicure. I was a bit confused when it came to paying, but since Im not sure how it works I was fine with it, they had a 10 dollar service charge on top the final price. This was my first time here and I had came because of the reviews but unfortunately I had a terrible experience. I came in for a pedicure and when someone came I had asked her if I could see two colors she came back with a completely different one than I asked for and the other wasn’t to my liking. Obviously I’m paying for these services so I kindly asked if I could see another color and she so rudely told me “You need to hurry I want to go home”. I didn’t feel comfortable enough to even let her start I just still kindly told her okay that’s fine I took the towels off my legs and proceeded to tell her that I’m ready to leave. She didn’t even apologize or have any remorse to her being rude when checking out. I didn’t even want to pay the thirty dollars because she didn’t even do anything wasn’t even worth it. I respectfully left the place but want to warn others. Don’t bother here save your money and go else where.

Completely un even, she had two workers working on her at first and finished with two different horrible crooked set of nails. She didn’t even want the color. They were absolutely unprofessional about the entire situation. There attitude was awful, when I nicely addressed the situation. Will never return here! Also spent over 200$

I got a eye brow wax they are very unprofessional I get my nails done else where and they tried to charge me for my nails and eyebrows. And also Im bleeding from both eyebrows after I told her she was hurting me. Honestly recommend going else where even if its further away!!!

I came in with my nails half on and half off from Dallas. And I sat in a chair within a min of me walking in. Soon after a guy was soaking my nails off and asking what I wanted...I was being picky I wanted 8 colors...only ended with 6 colors but I love the effort and quality of the set I got here. I definitely recommend this salon considering I come from Dallas where Im steady tryna find a good shop. Thank u San Antonio 💕

This sad the worst at of nails Ive ever had. Not even two weeks had gone by and 6 nails have just fallen off. Also the initial design that I showed them a picture to have done looked like my 8 year old daughter drew a spider on my nails. Completely unsatisfactory and would not recommend. Maybe it was the tech I had bt she didnt make sure it was done correctly and didnt care to.

The absolute worst 😫. The lady..I believe her name is Ivy...rude, nasty, threw my hands around and cut almost all my cuticles! I told her multiple times I did not like the shape or the look color...nail was halfway covered with acrylic and half way not. Showed her the color (dark pink powder) MY NAILS LOOK PURPLE! VERY VERY RUDE...WHEN SHE PUT THE TOP COAT ON SHE NEVER DUSTED THE DUST FROM SANDING MY NAILS...THIS WAS AFTER I told her I didnt like them...she threw oil on them and said go wash...had the audacity to say they look better than the nails (3weeks old done by someone out of town) you came in here with.Went to go wash my hands and an older lady said they just left me in the back room with my fingers soaking in ACETONE AND THEY BURN NOW!?!?!...she washed her hands and left, we BOTH agreed wed NEVER go back...and WONT!! 95.00 DOWN THE TOILET!! THEEEEE ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER...SAW THE WORK ON FACEBOOK AND FELL FOR THE BAIT!! SAVE YOUR TIME MONEY AND ENERGY!

I am very disappointed. My daughter and I went to this location 1/15/21. Our nails looked great when we left. I paid $10 extra for my daughter to get a 3D floral design on one finger, I provided a photo and technician said she could do it. She ended up with only a semi 3D floral outline that looked nothing at like the picture (which by the way is on their website). Not worth even $5 in my opinion but my daughter liked it, so I dropped the issue. I have been getting my nails done for over 20 years and my nails always last at minimum 3 1/2 weeks. My nails started popping off at only 7 days in ( no I did not do anything to cause them to come off). It appears my natural nail was not filed sufficiently. Usually my natural nails have in indent in the middle when the new nail grows in and you can tell they were filed enough to have a sufficient hold allowing the nails to last longer. This has been my experience for me. Now it hasnt been even a whole 2 weeks and I have to get them re-done. So far, my daughters nails are still in tact. May have been the experience level of the technician, she did chuckle at me when I told her I wanted a 3D floral design and showed her pictures. She did not seem very confident and said it would be close. However midway through the process and after seeing the poor floral design on my daughter I decided not to go with the design for myself. I may try a different technician IF I decide to go again.

My mother had the worst first experience at Hector Nails. I recommended them to her because I’ve been a loyal customer for over a year now and never had a problem with the service so I assumed they would treat my mother the same as they do with me.My mom asked for black FRENCH tips and this is what Hector the owner gave her. He was bluntly rude with her when she told him she wasn’t pleased with the nails and told her to come back another day when the place was not even busy.I am very disappointed and I wish the owner was a bit more kind with her given she paid full price for not even half the nails she wanted.

This place is over priced for horrible quality. The color was on point but the shape, lengths and texture had a mind of its own for each nail.I was sat in a molded room and this place was not clean. Some staff were rude talking about customers as they walked out for other customers to hear.

I have been coming to this nail salon for a while. I’ve never had a negative experience until today. The lady that was doing my manicure/pedicure, she was nice but she didn’t know what she was doing. She kept walking off, she took took too much skin off of my feet with the pumice stone, she cut my nails way too short, & the quality of my nails is just BAD. For the price of over hundred dollars..... I should at least like how my nails look. I don’t think I’ll be returning.My nails look awful. What a waste of over a hundred dollars. 😑

I had been going to Hectors Nails for a couple of years now but recently the last few times Have been bad..yesterday was the final visit all I wanted was a simple Mani with a shellac. Here’s what I got …attitude because I didn’t want what SHE wanted me to get. (Another Dip) I got attitude because the color I wanted was grey she kept bringing me browns. Her version of a mani was a freakin cold bowl of water and cuticle cut which took less then 2 mins total then she was complaining to her co worker and pointing out all the colors I didn’t like and the mess she had to clean now she didn’t like that I didn’t like her version of hearts and had her cover them with stones instead to top all that off!!! All my nails are all different lengths lol.. but after all that I guess it’s not as bad my previous visit when the lady had suggested I put all Five of my fingers in a shot glass full of acetone to soak my nails off… that’s a good 30 to 45 mins!!! I refused and asked for a bowl old lady got attitude and decided she wasn’t the one to do my nails. It’s not the money I paid for the product that bothers me it’s the money I paid for the bad service.

This place used to be really polite and did quality work NOW you get bad attitude, bad quality and disrespect!!! I will never return!!!

Awful experience went to go get my nails done and I hardly get my nails done And I’m a clean person I noticed they don’t change anything and they reuse everything on each person and this is why I got an infection on one of my nails because of them. Only put five stars so y’all ladies can see do not go to this place they are dirty and overprice.

The lady who attend me told me no at every stile I wanted and did what she wanted. Both feet and accrilic nail in hands and the result was awful I ended crying and they charge me over $200

Took my daughter to get her nails and mine done very well job done but .For being my 1 st time at Hector Nails Salon it was very crowded with this covid-19 pandemic. Also the nail tech was being very rude talking smack in there language while looking at my face I made a remark if you have something to say to me at least say it English not in your freaken language she shut up and staid quiet I paid $105 plus tip. Love my nails but freaken rude nail tech.

Not recommended. Told the guy my name and he just said ok and didnt reply back with his. Super awkward start to it. The guy did not ask what nail shape I wanted, just clipped it down before I could say anything. I asked to keep my length (oval shape) and he just cut it to a flat top. Didnt ask him to make it oval after that since it would have made them even shorter. Polish weirdly changed to a two-tone color 6 days after it was done. They were a grape color and they weirdly turned green on the nail. This has never happened before anywhere Ive ever been. They look pretty bad for less than 2 weeks of growth since he failed to put the polish far back enough, huge pet peeve of mine.

I can understand waiting to have my nails done.. what I can not understand is how this place is still open. Rude staff member told potential customers to come back after a certain time, then once they left he laughed hysterically with another customer knowing the nail salon would be closed when they came back. Mold growing in plain sight in the back area on walls. Customers crowded like sardines. No one was sanitizing stations between customers. The whole environment felt like I was trying to “risk it all” when in actuality it was the polar opposite.

Went in for a full set and the lady that did them was not only sweet but did an amazing job! My nails look the best they ever have. Ended up getting my eyebrows waxed as well and she did amazing with them as well. I will always go back. The only thing I regret is that I didnt get the ladys name but thank you so much!

Went in even after reading the BAD REVIEWS thinking just MAYBE they weren’t that bad, BUT I WAS WRONG!!!! I asked for them to shape my nails a certain way (curved) the young girl they first sat me with was obviously NOT experienced enough to do what I was asking for so she passed me over to a guy who must have felt that he could do them correctly WELL HE FAILED! When I told him that they were not the way I had asked he replied “well these are much easier “. IM THE ONE PAYING YOU FOR A SERVICE AND IF I WANT THEM DONE A CERTAIN WAY THEN YOU EITHER DO IT OR IF YOU CAN’T THEN TELL ME YOU CAN’T SO I CAN GO ELSEWHERE! I will never return! They are also rude and gossip about their customers! BELIEVE THE BAD REVIEWS, don’t waste your money!

Crazy busy Thursday-Sunday. Closed for Easter (Resurrection) Sunday. Nice place, most nail techs were not offering a drink. 3 of us came in for manis and pedis w/ 1 set of nails after removal we were there for more than 2 hours. My nail tech was younger & quieter but the older two where gossiping/laughing/starting more. Its annoying and disrespectful to say the least. Service was decent. I was nervous coming in because of the bad review.

Well me and my friend went to go get a full set like a couple days ago, and her nail tech had her waiting there for at least 20 minutes sitting there on the chair, she was rushing with my friends nails never told her to wash her hands, and was rude with her. My nail tech kept getting up and walking around every 5 minutes, was rude to me, rolled her eyes at me and i did not know what her deal was.

I have been coming to Hector Nails for a little over a year now. My sets used to come out amazing but recently they’ve really been awful. My last set (a simple french tip) was rushed and left with bubbles underneath the clear polish. I was left very unsatisfied. When coming to fix my nails, they get very offended and proceed to talk smack right in my face 😂. Safe to say I will no longer spend my money at Hector Nails.

NEVER AGAIN! I should have walked out the second I walked in, it was PACKED. Should be a good sign right?? Well, not during a global pandemic! They didn’t follow any CDC guidelines, customers on top of eachother, no plexiglass between stations or service providers and customers. The staff was rude, they wanted to get you in and out. The nail stations were disgustingly dirty, they didn’t put towels down, didn’t sanitize in between clients, nail debris EVERYWHERE. The pedicure was painful and my polish chipped immediately. We were immediately sat without picking out polish. When we asked for options they ignored us, we had to ask 3 times before getting handed a book with colors. The lotion burned both me and my friend. My lady burned my toe with the drill, took out deep nails which is ILLEGAL according to state board (im a cosmetologist) Now the manicure, TERRIBLE! The manicurist asked me what color I wanted and then said “are you sure??” In a condescending tone. Yes sir, I’m sure! I got a basic gel manicure and the top layer started peeling off the same day. My friend had to get an acrylic fix and she said it felt like torture! Her manicurist was on his phone constantly! He even asked if I was her daughter. Im 20 and covered in tattoos, she’s only 28?? RUDE. Even if there wasn’t a pandemic happening this place would be DISGUSTINGLY dirty. I was tempted to call state board. I understand things are tough to get accustomed to but this was unacceptable.

Im a very picky person so I rarely get my nails done, have yet to find somewhere that awww me. Hector nails was awesome and Angela made my nails look terrific they are perfect and more then I could have asked for! Thank u so much hector nails for making my wedding nails look fabulous!

I went for a pedicure to my have feet scrubbed thats all i wanted. (Im on my feet all day -nurse) decided to get regular pedi no shellac. My service was different because i choose shellac!! And i have an allergy on my right foot that i get everytime its cold and i feel like they were judging my foot. My service was different. I have been there 3 times. My sister goes there often for pedicures. I will not be returning!! I felt really self conscious about my foot. The techs would look at my foot when they would pass by!!!! Who knows what they were gossiping about!!!!. I just wanted my feet scrubbed and massage. And i still gave this man a tip!!WILL NOT BE RETURNING..

Changing my rating bc the wait time here is ridiculous. Ive had my nails done about a week now and I have a missing nail and chipped polish on both my hands and feet. I was at this place for nearly 4 hours just to end up a week last with a mess.

And when you give a nail tech free rein on what to do with specific instruction youd expect them to do some really nice work. Not the case here with Rocky or Kim. Not happy at all. This was my first visit but I plan to return. First the lady who did my nails was super kind. I liked a few pink colors and she pulled all three to let me see them before I chose my color. We ended up going with her color suggestion. She did an amazing job too. My nails came out BEAUTIFUL! I also had her do my eyebrows and this is a biggie for me... I have nerve damage on the left side of my face so my eyebrow muscles don’t move correctly when I close my eyes. I explained this to her as I’ve yet to have a decent eyebrow wax/string. She took her time and my brows MATCH!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER !!!!!! usually my top choice but I went in around 6 pm for a full set and towards the end the woman completely took the nail drill to my $275 JAMES AVERY RING. She continued to tell everyone that she didn’t do it and then who I’m assuming was the manager took me to the back sinks and told me to get a brush and scrub it and see if the scratch would come off and of course it didn’t. He continued to laugh in my face and say that a diamond and gem can’t be broken or scratched like that. I’m very surprised at how rude and disrespectful they were tonight, will never return again and I’ll be making sure to tell anyone who asks me about their service.

I’ve have the pleasure to have Hector create beautiful nail styles for me for months now. All his staff is extremely nice and will take care of all your needs. I’m over the top with my nails and he has always over passed my expectations for my nails. I just moved to the East side of town and there are a few shops but do not offer full service so I kept searching and found Hector Nails via Yelp. Although they are further away I thought I’d try them. They were ranked #13, which isn’t great but at least it’s ranked in the top 20 for nails in SA. My daughter and I arrived and were seated right away for pedicures. We waited a few minutes there but were started on and the ladies were quiet but nice. They never offered their names and my technician kept asking if I was sure about my color? I thought that was odd, she asked four times! After our pedi’s we were moved to a table for nails and they started on my daughter but not me. My pedicure technician bought me a bowl of acetone and told me to soak off my nails. I do not like soaking so I asked for them to be wrapped and she said “NO”! I was so upset but it was either that or wait until the next day to go back into the city to my old place and my schedule was booked so I stayed. Big mistake, I soaked for half an hour took off my own nails and washed my hands, still no technician. Finally after an hour and finishing my daughters nails that same technician moved over to do mine! We were there for three hours. As if that wasn’t bad enough, my nails look too thick and wide she did not shape or define them and both my daughter’s and mine are too sharp! Final straw, next day my left hand pointer finger nail cracked at the top!!!! You guessed it tried to go in and it’s closed, have to wait until Monday!!!!! All that for $167 plus $20 in tips. Not acceptable at all!

I checked in at 11:48 after they told me the wait was less than 10 minutes. They did get me seated at a station within 10 minutes but I sat there in attended for about 30 minutes finally when they did start my services they couldn’t understand what I wanted due to the language barrier. 2 hours later they finished and sat me at another station for my nails. I sat there another 15 minutes unattended again when a male who was sitting right next to me finished another client and asked if I can wait for my nails. I told him I was already there 2 hours so why not. He put a bowl of acetone in front of me and told me to soak while he went 2 chairs down and started another client. I finally had enough and said I was leaving. I paid and left quietly and as I left the door I heard someone yell don’t ever come back here 🤷🏾‍♀️ I just left and went down the street. They must have paid people or have discounts for reviews because as a first time customer I’m completely baffled. NEVER AGAIN

I started going here first because of wonderful reviews. Every time I go back, someone different does my nails/pedi, but service is still always super amazing. Ive gotten regular polish, shellac, full sets, fills & they always, always look absolutely great. Highly recommended, wonderful service & people. Most definitely my new favorite place. (: (:

Today i went in for the first time . I sat with Wendy! She was AWSOME very gentle and made sure my nails looked good she was not rushed at all !! i ABSOLUTELY love my nails !!! I had been looking for a nail place i actually like and feel satisfied every time i walk out with my nails done and lets just say i have found my nail place 🙌 i walked in and i was immediately seated ! Not that i mind waiting but it felt great being seated and acknowledge as soon as i walked in ! The atmosphere was also great !! Definitely recommend!!!

I went to Hector Nails based on Google reviews hoping for a better experience that would be close to home. I was a previous customer from Jolly Nails. Let me say Hector Nails is AMAZING! They fixed the clumpy mess from Jolly Nails and made my nails look so thin and natural. I don’t get acrylic nails, my nails are naturally long, and I wanted to keep that natural look. Queenie,from Hector Nails, did the shellac color with such a thin, but beautiful coat, they look natural and not bulky. Completely beautiful! I was so happy that she took the time with my manicure. The price was less expensive than Jolly Nails and the job at Hector Nails was WAY better. It was a win win! I will definitely be returning here and I recommend it to everyone.

First time customer but definitely wont be my last time. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Havent had my nails done in years because my last experience wasnt a good one but Im glad I gave this place a chance. Jennifer was very gentle on my nails and gave me exactly what I wanted. Very pleased with the outcome!!

The people at the nail salon were so amazingly kind. Loved my experience. They had very good service and the place was very neat. They also had a wide variety of nail polish colors. I LOVED how my nails came out!

They do great work and honor their work I will definitely keep coming back they take care of their clients, very clean and respectful.

Amazing nails always do great work

My 1st time going to a pedicure yesterday.. Did some research and saw Hector nails had 4.6 stars... I went around 530pm kind of busy, but they attend to you immediately.. The environment was very clean also! Jenny was the nail tech who did my pedicure, she did a great job and was gentle, she used a brand new clipper to clip my toe nails ( I love clean environments so thats big plus!) ! I will definalty be going back💅💅

It was my first time here & Loui was amazing !He was so sweet, friendly, funny & all around great personality. I LOVED the service he gave !Would DEFINITELY go again !

1st time here. I went here because Jollys was super packed. Thought I would give this place a chance. I got a $40 pedicure & gave the man $5 tip.The guy was super nice but in the end I waited 10mins for my toes to dry & then he put my shoes on quickly but they didnt get to dry & some smudge /:

My first experience was amazing! Hector created a work of art on my nails. My second visit wasn’t as spectacular but Hector reached out to make it better and now I’m completely satisfied!
