The previous management team really went out of their way to work for and on behalf of their residents. As soon as the complex was purchased and taken over by Related, everything changed....and not in a good way. Even the amazing maintenance staff that used to work here is all gone. The team in the office is difficult to get in touch with and not very friendly. They forced everyone into online payments because the office staff couldnt properly post checks to resident accounts or the staff would lose rent checks. When I had inquired about an adjustment in my renewal rate I was told I clearly knew nothing about leasing and how it worked by the Assistant Manager for the property. I guess this would be a good time to mention I am a leasing agent for another property in the area. A property can absolutely work with you on your renewal rate if they want to. I have seen it happen. They also started tacking random charges onto our bills without warning. I loved my time at the property before Related took over and ended up leaving for personal reasons but I would tell people to steer clear for the time being. Wait until there is a management change or the property is sold to a company that hires a team with some personality and compassion. The current team at this office is not the best.

This place is poorly managed, if I could 0 stars I would. I never lived at a place where it’s ran by leasing agents it’s unacceptable they say they have a manager but whoever that suppose to be is never there. The assistant manager is also no help he’s very rude and snobby, I went to him about a work order that was put in 5 weeks ago and I told him I looked up the parts and where it was located because they sad the part they ordered for me was on back order so I found a part that was in stock that same day so he tells me “ well since you found that you can fix it yourself “ I was just so shocked at how rude this man was

My girlfriend and I moved in towards the end of May. Originally, our move in date was supposed to be June 18th, but we were notified June 17th at 6PM that the unit would not be ready. Instead they had us move into a temporary unit and then once the unit was done, supposedly over the weekend, we would move into our unit, essentially forcing us to move twice. To their credit, the leasing office did cover the cost of the movers we had to hire, albeit after 3 weeks of pressing them about it.By the time we finally get into our unit an entire WEEK later, we find the unit to still feel unfinished. Newly installed appliances still had wrapping over them, electrical sockets seemed hastily placed with holes into the wall poking from behind them, all the cabinets were missing handles while the box of handles was sitting right there on the counter, a kitchen drawer was missing and worst of all, no microwave was present. After informing them, they said they would order a new one and get it installed. After about 2 weeks, we finally had the microwave delivered, but they just left it on the counter instead of installing it above the stove how it’s supposed to. After going to the office multiple times and even emailing manager Katherine Boone directly, as of writing this, the microwave is still sitting there and no indication of when they’ll come install it.From the outside, the community is very nice. Nice amenities, great location, great apartment, great neighbors. But the new management really need to get their business together. Management has continually blamed it on a shortage of maintenance workers and labor, which is understandable, but after nearly 2 months of this, the blame is all on management in some form or another.

Lived here since about April of 2020 and the previous staff and owners were great people and friends of my brother who I lived with. We were all sad to see them go and worried about forming a relationship with the new staff. Since then my brother has moved out and i stay with a friend. But there was a silver lining and my roommate and I were so thrilled to meet Devonte at the pool one night. He is charismatic, helpful, understanding and genuine. So happy to see someone I can trust and the 5 stars are all for him. I wish I could give him a raise myself. If you are thinking of moving Into this complex, ask for Devonte.-Will C

I have mostly enjoyed living at Mariners crossing for the past two years. It is in the perfect location for me and was one of the few affordable nice apartments I’ve found in Raleigh. Notice I said WAS. Since the new management stepped in all they have done is add extra fees and I have now received a letter telling me the cheapest option for me to renew will be $100 more than I’m paying now. It’s insane. Especially considering the valet trash service I’m now required to pay for drops trash outside my apartment on a weekly basis. We aren’t allowed to have packages delivered to the office, so a package was stolen from my front door last week. And when you call the office it gives you another number to call to reach someone, and I’ve never been able to reach someone on the first try. So on top of all these issues I now have to pay $100 more a month. I understand that everyone is working hard and trying to improve things, but that high of a rent increase is ridiculous and unfair in my opinion.

Ive not had a positive experience with this company. I applied for an apartment on September 2. I never heard from anyone regarding the status of my application. No one answers the phone and when I went into the office to tour the unit, I was told that it wouldnt be ready to tour for another week. Even though my move-in on the application was for that weekend. I paid $300 to apply. Eventually after waiting forever to hear back, I decided to go with another property. The problem is, they have not processed the refund of the hold fee and no one will answer the phone! I essentially have $250 that they are holding hostage. That money could be used for my move into the apartment that I chose to go with. DO not apply to this place unless you plan on being completely ignored. The property also looked pretty bad when I drove around. Lots of dirt and cobwebs on the buildings. Some of the units also had black spray paint which is a huge eye-sore.

Ive been residing here at Mariners for nearly six years, the only reason why I will not give the fifth star is due to the managers they have in place. When the changeover of ownerships first started, previous leadership already informed me that the culture would be changing. Took what they said with a grain of salt, however after meeting the office managers; who might I add wont take the time out to speak to you, the warning of prior managers was definitely spot on! But I will give five stars to Devonte due to him helping my parents while I was out of the United States. Devonte will make himself available for you and will be efficient. He took the time to ensure that my parents understood how to use the online portal. Since the managers decided to go greener (whatever that means) and discontinued residents coming to the office to pay their rent. All-in-all the community is nice, the office assistants are nice, but the managers are definitely a misfit for our community but with unemployment causing labor shortages. I supposed the motto Desperate times, cause for desperate measures is how they ended up here, shaking my red head.

My experience with the office staff Josh and Katy has not been a good one. Katy has and will not come out of her office to assist me, and no one was up front, instead a maintenance worker had to assist me. I wanted to talk to her, but it was evident that she does not like to interact with the residents. Josh is very sarcastic when he speaks to you. My deposit refund was for the wrong amount and when I went to address it with him, first he seemed as if he didnt even want to touch the paper I was trying to show him that had the information on it, secondly he told me he would have to contact someone to see about how to go about getting my refund amount right, well 24hrs went by and I reached out to him to see what was going on with it, first he says, I havent heard anything yet and I say, I thgt you just had to make a phone call, then he says, well I have to call the accountant to see who or how to go about this, which let me know, he had not reached out to anyone. They are so non caring and so not people persons that they should not be in those positions.

My experience with Mariners Crossing has been good… nice amenities, great location, peaceful environment. But what really sold me on this place was the customer service of one staff member, Devante! There were special circumstances with the move, and from day one Devante was extraordinarily helpful in making sure I had every single thing I needed to call this place home. In fact, he even reached out just before my move-in to inform me that my chosen apartment wasn’t move-in ready and certainly didn’t have all the things we discussed previously. Admittedly, I was a bit frustrated and nervous. However, Devante had it covered and already had another apartment ready to go. Turns out, this apartment was better than the original! So simply put, if you’re looking to move, check out Mariners Crossing… and make sure to ask for Devante! You’ll never meet a more courteous and professional residential staff member who truly looks out for you.

Greeted by the previous friendly staff members who were accommodating during covid-19. Apartment was nice except for an issue with our washer machine that ultimately I had to battle to get an older model to replace it with. However, after fixing that issue we had an enjoyable experience until recently.New management took over and needless to say make no effort to communicate changes and commit shady tactics especially regarding parking issues that only became relevant once my lease was about to end and was up for renewal.Needless to say I had intentions to renew/extend my lease until they decided to give a two day tow notice posted to our second registered vehicle without any other form of communication to notify us while we were on vacation. The notice was served in the form of a green sheet with only a checkmark for not in acceptable condition with no further explanation or details. Thankfully we returned from vacation on the last day for us to see the notice but it was too late to resolve the issue. It was real crummy considering the issue was about tags that couldve been fixed same-day had they made any effort to contact us besides a sticky note posted to the cars window. The rest of the story is the run around dealing with tow companies and spending more money than was necessary had we just been left a voicemail, text message, portal message, or really any attempt of contacting us about the issue.*Management claims they couldnt contact us because they didnt know the owner of the vehicle. Ironic since we all had to register our vehicles in order to get our parking permits. This information is also included in our lease application and contracts so the portal switch excuse shouldnt matter. Its just a poor excuse for being lazy and crummy towards people up for lease renewal.Summary: Will not be renewing because of new management.

I enjoy my apartment simply because its a corner third floor unit. The location is nice as its close to shopping and restraunts. However, that is the only thing I like about my stay here. Unfortunately, It takes weeks for maintenance to complete work orders. WEEKS. If your AC goes out after hours they dont even offer a window unit. It was pushing 90° in our apartment and we were on our own. Being in property management myself, and having rented most of my life, Ive never witnessed anything like it. Good luck getting a call back from the property manager if you have an issue. This community doesnt notify you if you receive a package at the office yet they will send mass texts all day long about every little thing even if it doesnt pertain to you. Parking is a nightmare. Not much they can do with that I guess, but its to be considered if you plan to move here. Be prepared to walk. I wish I could list more great things about Mariners but unfortunately Im not impressed. It definitely has potential but with the lack of customer service skills, it will never live up to it.

Where to begin? I have lived in mariners crossing apartments for just over 4 months now and it has been a thoroughly miserable experience thanks to the ineptitude of the office staff and continued lies and harassment.Besides the bait and switch routine on the apartment I was put in, they refused to let me see the apartment before signing lease and paying up despite the apartment being empty for months. When handing me the keys, they said “Great news. The apartment was inspected and is in perfect condition.” An complete and total lie starting with the front door locks not working correctly, laundry doors not opening or closing, broken windows in 2 rooms that had been marked for replacement (which they had to have known about since they physically marked the windows) and a whole host of other safety issues as well as debris in the carpets, rusty sink basins and corroded fixtures, and so on.Then there is the constant bs surrounding my rent payments, which are set up for my bank to deliver a check by the 27 of each month BEFORE the rent is due and, despite my bank account showing they have deposited my checks upon receiving, they continue to bill me on the 8th of every month for double claiming my paid rent is not in the system. Then there is the constant issue with repairs. Even though I send written notice, they do not generate the work order and I have to send several emails, call the office and discuss face to face for weeks and still not have repairs made. However, the office has made up a water issue in March that does not exist inside my apartment, created a work order, without my knowledge, refused to tell me when they would enter my apartment even though I have requested 24 hour notice to make pet arrangements, and showed up unannounced 3 months later. The public area maintenance is only good right around the offices. Other areas of the complex are littered with a variety of things from chicken bones to condom wrappers.the two bark parks- 1 is all dirt with gaping holes in the fence, the other is a small hill and area that is never cleaned and always has several big dog poos scattered about. When cars were broken into in the parking areas, managements answer was to have gun-toting residents drive around in golf carts to patrol until midnight. A lawsuit waiting to happen! At this point in time, I have contacted the property owners, JMG Realty in Atlanta, to try and rectify at least the unaddressed maintenance issues in the apartment. I will be moving elsewhere at the first available opportunity!1 star for the property managers. My neighbors in my building are nice people so I gave an star for them.

My wife and I moved here from Minnesota last year. We live in the townhome apartments that have a garage and completely love the place. It’s quiet our neighbors are nice and the property is kept in good condition… It’s nice to see the workers Walking the property every morning to make sure the property is clean. The pool area is nice And there are various dog parks. We have never had an major issue with the apartment but for minor maintenance issue which were resolved quickly. Our place is updated, the kitchen is huge, in apartment washer dryer included and having a garage attached is worth a ton. When we checked other apartments in the area Mariners crossing by far had the best value. I’ve also had no issues with anybody that works here all the times I’ve had to go to the office to ask questions or get in boxes or packages it’s been a great experience.

One of the worst experience I had living at an apartment complex. Office manager, promised to replace washer from the time I moved in because it would not drain our clothes properly. Spoke to her numerous of times. Went in couple times regarding the washer and than she stated she didn’t not promise a new washer. Asked her to remover their washer and dryer and I would buy my own. She said no and If I didn’t like living here to moved out. Was there for only 6 months. Parking was always full and not enough space. Maintenance is garbage. They will say they fixed the problem and nothing is done. Also had small carpet stain that charged me $511.00 and kept my 300 deposit. Prior to moving in, I did read the reviews but I wanted to give them a chance and they truly did not deserve my money. If I could I wound give them any stars.

UPDATE: I am changing my review from 1 star to 3. MCs property manager has a wonderful touch with people and Im impressed with how she is handling our complaints. Wherever you decide to live, there will be issues but when they arise you definitely want to know that you are being heard and the folks who manage the property want you to feel happy, safe and secure.Pros: Nice common facilities: pool, gym and dog parks. We also enjoy food truck Thursdays. Friendly office staff. Quiet, friendly neighbors. Dog friendly community. Many families and good people living here. Great access to highways and major roads. Central to lots of area dining, parks, shopping etc. Great area schools.Cons: Our biggest complaint has been the response time to work orders. Its been unacceptable in some cases. The maintenance staff seem to have unending work orders. There doesnt seem to be enough maintenance personnel to adequately manage this property. The renovations to the surrounding apartments are very loud and disruptive. I am sure it doesnt bother most people who work during the day but my husband works overnights and sleeps during the day. Being an older structure, property owners should invest in rodent proofing, particularly where the utilities are.

UPDATE: Well guys.... they have done it again. edits my starts to 5 now because Mariners deserves it.UPDATE: I am editing my review---this place has its ups and downs, as any apartment complex would, but they have really stepped up their game. I am keeping my 2 star rating, FOR NOW, it might change TBD. Lysa is the main reason I am changing my review because she has been super helpful and attentive. They office staff has remained the same and there is no more influx of new employees working every week. The community vibe is really great here, they throw parties for holidays and have food trucks come on once a week during the summer. Some down falls come with the building itself, mainly because it is old, but they are continuing to do work around the area to make it nice.

I love Mariners Crossing! I’ve been here for about 6 months & couldnt be happier. My apartment is adorable and cozy, and most important affordable. I cannot wait for the pool to open, it’s lovely. There are food trucks every Thursday starting in spring. They also put on fun little events (taco night, resident breakfast, etc). The neighborhood is quiet and everyone seems very friendly. The most important thing to me is knowing that everyone that runs the complex cares about their tenants and I truly believe they do. Lysa is always so sweet (and funny), and gets back to me in a timely manner any time I have a question/concern. I’ve never had any big concerns, just a few things here and there that have needed maintence (like all apartments sometimes do), and she has been so helpful. All of maintenance has also been super friendly and helpful!I changed my 5 star review to a 4 star due to parking. As much as I love this place, it is insane to me that if you get home after a certain time, there is no parking. I literally have to park 5 buildings away (at the clubhouse), after coming home late/coming home from work late. I pay rent and LIVE in MC, so I should 100% have a spot not that far away. As far as the visitors spots, there is one visitors spot for maybe every 3 buildings and that is frustrating when I have guests or when I, MYSELF, have to park in one even though I am not a visitor. There are plenty of Visitors spots but all the way by the clubhouse, which is far from my building. Regardless, I do still love this place!

Applied for these apartments but got denied in December but got denied January 2nd. Im not upset about this but when I applied I had to pay $400 dollars which was 50 for fee ×2 and 300 for administration fee. Once denied I asked would money be placed back on credit card and I was told no. I had just moved to NC and was in a hotel so I explained I needed that money back soon because my next form of income wouldnt come until February. Well the manager told me she would get my check expedited and should only take 2 weeks.....it is now going on 3 weeks and still nothing. I understand it comes from headquarters but as quickly as it was taken off my card it should be refunded back. This is my only issue with this complex. In my opinion this is truly unacceptable and needs to be rectified.

If you are a family with small kids keep reading... I dont write reviews often but this place does need one. Many bad reviews here are wrong. Im so impressed with the maintenance team. All these guys Ken, Patrick, etc are always fast to resolve any issue and they always have a smile.on their face. Lisa is knowledgeable and professional. I did have a hiccup with the moving date so keep calling or emailing to make sure your unit is ready for you. The layout of the apartments, specially the ones with garage are great. The landscape is gorgeous, clean and well kept. Unit is a bit old but the maintenance does everything to keep everything working and looking good. The appliances are stainless steel. The apartments with garage have loads of cute kids. My 4 year old has loads of friends (all ages) the best part is that everyone is watching the kids. Dont let the absence of a playground make your mind. Kids run bikes/scouters, they paint the rocks, play soccer, basketball. They play altogether in the pool (which btw is stunning and not overcrowded)! This place is great. Im so glad we chose Mariners Crossing. Also we love the parties they throw. Free good food. There ist also food truck coming often.harris teeter and food lion only 5 minutes walking. Shelley Park and Crabtree down the road. North Hills and North Ridge only 10minutes. Friendly neighbours, quite place, clean, no bugs inside the apartments and well maintained. The best complex is 5805 (with the garages). You wont go wrong!

I was a guest of a tenant at Mariners Crossing, and after looking around to find a visitors parking space, I parked in an unmarked space as there was no available. My car got towed because of it. If you want to consistently worry about your friends getting towed and them potentially not wanting to come over to your house anymore then you are fine. But if you want your friends to not have to worry about ridiculous situations like this, then this isnt the place for you.

Wish there was a no star option. Save your money, your time, & breath. Moved there & was only there for 6 months. The worst place by far! When we first moved in, the washer was not working (not draining the water) the bathroom sink was not working either. When we asked them to fix it, took them a month to go take a look at it, didn’t fix the washer or sink. Mentioned something again & they said they would raplace the washer & fix the sink. By the 4th month I mentioned it again cause they never replaced the washer or fixed the sink, at this point I was doing laundry at the laundromat near me & they said that maintenance will get to it eventually, we were on the waiting list. My husband told them to remove the washer & dryer we will just get our own they said no because we were under contract. By the 5th month we mentioned it again they said to just move out if we weren’t happy. Which we did by the beginning of the next month & now they are charging us for a small stain where our table was sitting on top of that they kept our 300 dollar refundable deposit & charging us 191 dollars for returning the keys a day late cause they don’t open on Sundays!! DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! The Mark down the street are better!

He did pee on it and it was cleaned professionally a year prior from them moving and a few days after accident. It was not noticeable or any smells. They decided to remove the carpet completely when my friends left this complex costing me extra 300 dollars due to a dog pee stain as I was relayed the message. Could have been my friends making it up to avoid paying more fees from foot traffic ruined carpet, but I thought that was a little much for just a pee stain and not even using their deposit to help cover? Regardless I talked to the staff when we would go to the pool and they seemed very nice.
