This is the first barbershop Ive been to and I couldnt have been more impressed. Rudy was great! We were both masked up and had a great conversation during my buzz-cut, but it was the way he approached the beard trim that I was super impressed with. He made it clear that I was to remove my mask (he kept his on the whole time), but that we wouldnt be talking at all while he was squaring up my beard. He locked the door to make sure no one else entered while I didnt have a mask on. Yes and no questions only, so all I had to do was nod. That hot towel treatment was probably the most relaxed Ive felt in a long time. Great cut, great shop, super comfortable chairs.. Ill definitely be back. Thanks Rudy!

A barbershop located on SE Fosters between Off The Griddle and Idle Hands. The barbers are friendly and great at what they do. The fades were to perfection. We will be return customers. Great work.

If you want to be confident that you’ll look and feel great, get your haircut here. Rudy knows what he’s doing and is an all-around great guy. Given that we’re in a pandemic, they’re extremely careful and cautious about COVID protocols and put your safety first.There’s a great coffee shop nearby while you wait and plenty of parking. Worth at least a 45 minute drive, but I’d travel up from anywhere knowing what my hair looks like after a visit.

Rudy does a solid job with my hair every time. Ive been going to see this guy for years, and Im so glad that hes thriving despite the pandemic. He wouldnt say it, but I know he could really use continued support! Hes got a family to feed, so I hope he gets new people as well as regulars.

Great cut, good vibe and good valueOpen on Sunday is a big deal for since thats usually the only day I have free. Its easy to make an appointment. Sean was thorough and deliberate. He took his time with my cut and it shows. It came out great! I thought Id have to go to at least 2-3 barbers/shops to find a good fit, but no. Cowlick is EXACTLY what I was hoping to find.Location is what got me in the door for my first cut, but the fact that they do great cuts, have a good vibe, and are Chicano-owned will keep me coming back.

Curt gave me a great haircut. I was able to arrange a same-day appointment. Curt fell a little behind, because he holds a great conversation. He offered me a cold drink in the meantime. Curt made sure he understood my desired cut and executed on it. He has a down-to-earth attitude and provided excellent service.The inside is clean and bright, thanks to the large windows facing the street. Inside the shop smells fresh.

I went to this shop for the first time two weeks ago and got a great haircut. Was looking forward to becoming a regular with Sean. I walked by this morning and one of the barberA (not sean) was cutting someone’s hair and the client wasn’t wearing a mask. I will not be going back to a place that doesn’t enforce mask policy and I now have doubts about how safe their shop is if they aren’t requiring masks. Very disappointed.

Needed a very simple hair cut and actually got a very simple hair cut. No pomp, no frills, just a good hair cut. Very Pleased!

A great place to get a $25 haircut. (I can vouch mainly for mens-style cuts.) Professional staff, chill pdx (punk-rock?) vibe. Word to the wise: book online. I came in once as a walk-in on a Saturday and was offered something much later because they were so busy. I think online booking makes everyones day a bit more predictable. Id take them up on having a beer while I wait if they werent so punctual for appointments!

I finally found a good neighborhood Barbershop! These guys are absolutely excellent in their craft and provide great conversation well getting your hair cut. Ive tried a handful of barbers across Portland in the past 5 years and have yet to have an experience like I had here. Highly recommend, I know Ill be going back.

Great haircuts for $25. The quality of the cut is great! Great staff that make pretty good conversation and its nice to get a beer while hanging out! This place will make you look like a sexy beast, even if you arent that good looking to begin with! Maybe thats just the beer talking.

I walked in this afternoon with long hippy hair and a scraggly beard, left with a great short look and neatly shaped beard. Curtis did a great job and made sure I was happy with his excellent work, all for a great price. I plan on coming back for all of my barbering needs.

Im really fortunate to have Cowlick in the neighborhood. The haircut is always great work and reasonably priced. Ive only ever had Rudy cut but knowing how seriously he takes his craft, Im confident the other guys are great too. Cool ambiance and great conversation. Highly recommended.

Holy crud. Everyone knows what theyre doing. Theyre incredibly respectful. The conversation is random and off the cuff, but never out of line or disrespectful. Its on point and two sided. I love this place. My go to barber shop. Nothing but love for these people.

That all stopped when I was introduced to Cowlick. The guys there are the best and know exactly how to make you look your very best. This was my first time at a barber in something like 10 years. Ive gone bald, but needed to get my beard lined up and presentable ahead of a wedding. Rudy not only created a welcoming environment but he did an awesome job making the beard look just right. Super chill place with a super chill barber. Looking forward to going back!

Fair priced, yet excellent haircuts and conversation. The shop is kept clean and is well lit by multiple windows in a garage/shop door facing the street. The owner seems to be the main full time employee. He just got this business off the ground and now has a newborn at home. The man must be superhuman. Even though I am sure he is absolutely exhausted; he always has a smile on his face and seems to treat his patrons with kindness. Be nice to him and tip as though youre supporting a local small business with a new family member to feed! :)

After 8 years of growing out my hair, it was time to chop it off and look professional. There is only one place I trusted to do right by me, cowlick barbershop. Clayton was awesome!

Been going here for almost a year now for all my hair cuts. The shop is nice, clean and has a really warm vibe to it. I come for the haircuts (which are always on point), but stay for the conversations. Really happy to have found a barbershop I always look forward to coming to.

Rudy does a phenomenal job sculpting my beard. Absolutely the best! Treated myself first-time-ever straight razor shave and it was like a spa treat. I fell asleep it was so soothing.

I was not the one getting the cut, as a certified cosmetologist and practicing more men’s hair I sometimes take my boyfriend to get his hair done so I can watch. I honestly was not as impressed as I thought I would be. My guy is usually more picky than me and he I’m sure isn’t real impressed. I don’t think he got the cut he was asking for and it could have been blended better and it was also rounded at the parietal which is the opposite of what was asked as well. All in all I say there is always room to improve. Nice shop, cool guys. Maybe more continued education to perfect the art of men’s cuts.

I really liked the haircut I got. Rudy took the time to talk me through what I wanted based on a picture I brought him. He was friendly and afterwards told me how I can style it and explained what he did so I can get something similar in the future. Im planning on coming back.

Cowlick Barbershop is a great place to get a cut with some very cool and friendly people! I enjoyed the cut and conversations to be sure. If youre looking for a laid back happy place for a cut, these are your guys. Nothing but great things to say about Rudy.I must say that Im always hesitant to post great reviews for the Barbershops that Ive gone to because then its always difficult to find a reservation.
