Kyle and Gus are awesome barbers and their unpretentious little barbershop is everything I was looking for. I shaved my head for years (much to my wifes chagrin) in large part because I could never find a barber I trusted to give me a haircut I consistently liked. After getting a few C- haircuts around Portland, I started going to a shop that could do a B+ job. It was alright but when they were booked solid one week, I decided to give Oak a try. Thus began the story of my loyalty to Kyle and getting A+ haircuts every time. Id highly recommend checking them out!Also, as a fun bonus, Kyle and I both played in hardcore punk bands back in the day and had played shows together long before he ever cut my hair.

With so many haircut options in Portland, I just kinda took a shot-in-the-dark with this place. Im so glad I did, because Kyle gave me the best haircut I think Ive ever had! I didnt really know what I wanted, but he listened to me ramble and suggested a few different things for me. He really took his time and its obvious from the cut that he paid good attention to detail. I would definitely make a trip up from Eugene just to get another haircut from him!

Good old school vibes, good prices, no nonsense. Know what you want before you go in, this place provides highly skilled technicians, not creative collaboration. I brought an old photo of myself and left looking like it.

The cut was on point. Very satisfied. But thats not what will be bringing me back. Gus is great to talk to. If you like punk or hardcore you can keep a conversation with Gus well after the trim is done, which we did. Appointment only. One chair. Sweet and simple.

Ive been getting my cut from Gus for over a year and love him and it! Now that Kyle has moved here and started working there I have been getting my cut with Kyle and am equally as stoked about my cut. Two best dudes, great cuts and good times.

Kyle has done a fantastic job as my barber for around 6 months now. Yesterday, right after a cut and beard trim, I was in Powells and a woman asked me if I was in the movies. It has to be the barber that brings that out!

I dont usually post reviews, but I just had my beard trimmed by Kyle and had to express how pleased I am. When he chair spun the chair around and I saw the result, I was honestly shocked at how good it looked.

Worst place i have ever been,they dont even have a phone number and didnt even have anything said that you need an appointment and i drove so far to get here and they tell me that i cant have a haircut today and that i have to call them and make appointment but they dont have a phone for some reason.Dont understand how you could even make an appointment.And when i went in they looked at me like i was unwelcome and looked very mean.
