I moved here in December 2020 and I can honestly say this is the best move my husband and I ever made. The view from my balcony is priceless its so peaceful and absolutely beautiful. So far the staff has been very prompt, pleasant and respectful. I Love it here. Finally got my dream home.

Hathaway House is a great updated apartment complex with an awesome support staff. The amenities are all there, you have the swimming pool on the roof, gym on the first floor and entrance monitoring 24/7. I would definitely keep renting here if I didnt purchase a house.

When we moved from Mexico to US we lived in downtown for 1 year. There we missed natural light, natural air and the chirping of birds 🐦. Due to CoVid i could not physically come and visit my appartment before finalizing. But today is my 2nd day here in Hathaway and I am glad we chosed this appartment. Its full of natural lights, its beautiful, specially the view. I am in love with this place😍

Lived here for 2 years in a 2 bed 1 bath and a year in the studio back in 2015-2018. The 2 bedroom on a higher floor had a gorgeous view facing northwest over the Wissahickon Valley Park for a stunning sunset in the fall and short walk to some great walking/biking trails. The apartment also had a ton of closet space with 2 huge closets just inside the front door, closets lining the hallway back to the 2 rooms and shared bathroom, and to top it off, they had large closets within both bedrooms. It was spacious and clean for the reasonable price when I lived here. The kitchen had great appliances and counter space with the half-wall between the kitchen and living room. The bathroom had a large mirror and a heat lamp.Laundry units are available per floor, I used them at relatively off times, but if it was being used, you could just go up or down a floor until you find available washer/dryer. It used a card that was reloaded via cash downstairs.Heating never costed much (bill was usually $30-40), but the AC in the summer could get a bit pricey (I believe it peaked at about $150 for me).Management and other staff were always nice and accessible, but I particularly love the other residents. The residence was quiet and the people were welcoming. The only cons I had with the place was the local shops and neighborhood. The restaurants were a bit lacking, and if I wanted to do anything, Id have to hop on the train (very short walk) to center city or get a ride. Parking in the free lot could get a bit crowded, but I could usually find street parking as backup. They do have paid garage parking underneath the building. As I was leaving, they had management turnover and started renovations to include a fitness center and modernize the lobby and hallways. They also have a nice rooftop pool that I visited once.I could not find my original photos from when I moved in to give a good view of the actual apartment, but included the photos I took when selling off my furniture before leaving the 2 bedroom into the studio which I included a couple (somewhat messy) photos of the living space.Overall, I loved my time there and would highly recommend Hathaway House Apartments to anyone looking for apartments in the area!

I lived at Hathoway House for a little over a year, and absolutely loved it. Extremely nice management and maintenance staff. Well kept building, friendly neighbors, and nice amenities. If it wasnt for work, I would have stayed longer.

Hathaway House has great apartments and an even greater community of people. From the day we moved in, everyone was very nice and welcoming. Management dealt with all of our issues promptly and nothing major happened. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking in the area.

Lived here for 3.5 years. It was fine, but my experience leaving has soured me to it. Make sure youre never late paying anything to Scully Co, because they will send things straight to debt collectors without warning. They wont call. They wont email. They wont send a letter. They just call in the debt collectors because they care far, far more about money than people, or common courtesy.Parking is limited at times if you dont pay for the garage parking. A handful of times Ive had to park on side streets because the lot has been full. Then, of course, was the time they towed my car without warning, even though I had a parking pass. They had my car in their register, but again, they didnt call, they didnt email, they didnt make any effort whatsoever to notify me. They just towed it. They eventually repaid some of the money I had to spend in the process of getting it out, but the rest I had to pay out of pocket for their incompetence.Elevator breakdowns are common. Company is slow to repairs.Location leaves a lot to be desired. At least 1 murder occurred recently just down the street. I wouldnt recommend being out past dark in the neighborhood (not that theres anything in the neighborhood). Nearby train station is very convenient for getting to and from Center City.Another big issue is the apartments are always about 30 degrees hotter inside than out. I rarely needed heat in the winter, but needed AC constantly from April Fools to Thanksgiving. And the AC is freaking loud. If youre looking at the building, I suggest turning on the AC to hear what its like. Electric bills for those eight months were always bad.

Me and my girlfriend have been residents of the Hathaway house for 2 months and since our arrival things have been going swell. Any issues that arise, the maintenance and management staff quickly take care of it in a courteous fashion. Only Recommendation is utilizing any available open space for a common area that is accessible for our older and younger neighbors.

Hathaway House used to be a nice residence. Youll notice other reviews here and elsewhere are from years ago. Since new management came in, however, its been one problem after another. Several tenants have gone without heat during the winter while waiting for maintenance to fix it. The new security people dont know any of the rules, how things are run here, and havent been told what theyre supposed to be doing. No one properly maintains the property, and as a result, a huge tree fell and crushed half of the cars in the parking lot. One of the only two elevators has been constantly malfunctioning and out of order. My neighbors water was out for two days. Lights are out in the stairwell thats supposed to be an emergency exit or alternative to the elevator. Its neglected and never cleaned. What used to be a nice, friendly atmosphere with tenants who socialized for years has soured with the presence of new management. Ive lived here for over five years and thought Id never leave. It felt like home. As soon as my lease is up in a few months, Im straight up gone. Im not the only one, and Im not sure Id trust any Scully Company residence after such a dramatic reversal in quality of life.

I am a current resident at the Hathaway House. I moved here in April 2017. The building is very, very well managed. The management always communicates any issue both by postings in public areas and via email. There is never a surprise. You could not ask for a better maintenance team. I have never had a maintenance issue that was not resolved in 24 hours. Most times within hours. The building hallways are immaculate as well as all the public spaces. There is 24/7 security and the security staff are excellent. Denise and Cliff are the regulars and they are fantastic. Also a note regarding the residents. Everybody is very friendly. The management plans events throughout the year for the residents culminating in a fairly elaborate Christmas Party in December. My only complaint here is the noise but the noise is from the street and not from within the building. My apartment faces Chelten Avenue and there is the usual traffic noise from the street. That is why four and not five stars but it should really be 4 and half starsOne person posted regarding the neighborhood. There is nothing wrong with the neighborhood at all. Yes there was a shooting in a bar on Chelten Avenue recently but there are shootings everywhere, including Rittenhouse Square. Often times when I am at a concert or event in CC and take the train home at night I have NEVER felt unsafe walking back.As far as the neighborhood is concerned we are just a couple blocks from the Wissahickon Park. That in itself is a great recommendation.I am very happy living here and there is a sign in the front entrance that says at the front entrance that says Welcome Home and I really do feel that this is home.

I stayed here for one year, and had a great time living here. Convenient location in Germantown/East Falls, close to two train stops and not too far from the shops and restaurants in Manayunk either, a great, friendly community, and a clean, spacious apartment. Management was fairly prompt with any issues. The new health center they established is a bit basic, but still quite nice to use. The manager Sun was super helpful during the move out process as well.

I have a love hate relationship with the Hathaway House . The security guards, maintenance crew, and housekeeper are absolutely wonderful . Special thanks to Denise, Perry, Cliff, and Theresa they have been the best part of my experience here and words can not explain how amazing they have been, but the office is terrible . They never properly communicate anything to the residents. A giant tree fell in our parking lot completely damaging about 8 cars, a total loss for many, not even a phone call to the residents affected . Each resident’s car is registered on file with a corresponding parking pass. Imagine being away for the weekend and coming home to your car being completely ruined and not even a phone call . Although the tree was located within the fence line on the building property they said it was not their tree and not their responsibility. Now they are upgrading units on the 15th floor, every day Im awaken by the sound of banging and drilling, the office has not once attempted to contact residents on the 14th floor to give us an estimated time of completion or work hours . I had to call them to ask, Alex in the office told me the work would be done by the upcoming Monday . Monday comes and the banging continues. I called him again and he said he made a mistake and it will be done in March. I requested a follow up call from the Manager Sun, and she never called . At this point I expect the lack of communication . Other residents who have been living here for over 10 years have all shared the same grievances. My unit has experienced leaking from the ceiling twice . They patched the hallway leak with a piece of a cardboard box. If you leave your house during the week and expect to be back after 8pm you can forget about finding a place to park your car . Parking in the lot is extremely important, my friend was visiting and parked on the block directly behind our parking lot and his car was broken in to . The window was smashed and the airbag was removed from his steering wheel. Unfortunately if it weren’t for these huge inconveniences my experience with Hathaway would be a good one .

Hathaway house has a great management team and is a very secure place to live. The apartments are spacious and priced reasonably. Parking is free in their outdoor lot and they do have a garage for an additional fee if you choose. Sometimes I can hear my neighbors’ parties in my living room but the bedrooms are very quite except for when emergency vehicles drive down the street. I have a really nice view of center city’s sky line and I can watch 4th of July fireworks from my balcony which is awesome!!
