When I moved to Palatine, I was looking for a new nail salon with in close proximity to my place. Googled salons and decided to give this one a shot! Im so happy that I did. Love my nail tech, she is so nice and takes her time. All the other techs are just as good! I go with the dip, lasts 3 weeks. Highly recommend!

I booked my appointment online and since I did not get a confirmation I made sure to call and they told me that the technician I had originally chosen had gone home but that someone else could do it. I was not disappointed. My friend and I received the oceanic pedicure and they were so kind and friendly, oh and my friend was a male lol I was serviced by Ann who was sweet and fast with the pedicure (no chip) and my friend was serviced by poison ivy who definitely made sure to make him feel at ease. Awesome service even the male in the front door made sure to remember my name and say goodbye as we headed out the door. 🙌

My daughter and I both got no chip nails and not even a day after my daughter has three of her nails chipped. Mine on the other hand were of horrible quality, they were lumpy and looked cheap. Not to mention the horrible service who were just rude and unprofessional.

I have gone to different nail salons and have not been satisfied with their services, then I go into Modern Nails and meet Danny who is the best manicurist Ive ever had. I get tremendous compliments from a lot of people, Ive even been complimented by other manicurist on his work which is why I only go to him. I get the no chip and it lasts me about 3 1/2 to 4 weeks. I set an appointment for my daughters and myself. My youngest daughters nail popped off two days afterwards. A week later she only has 3 nails left. I got no chip for my oldest daughter and the next day her paint chipped. Also while getting my nails done the tech was trying to rush through for an appointment. I told her several times that I and my children were her appointments. My 9 & 12 year old were charged adult prices as they dnt have children prices. I paid a high price for such low quality work. I will ever go back and wouldn’t recommend it to anybody else.

Worst manicure I have ever gotten. I asked for a French tip acrylic manicure and he charged me for a no chip acrylic manicure after I said I did not want it. He did not even do a no chip manicure because he didn’t use any no chip polishes which I called him out for and he continued to argue with me. He did not clean my nails or cut my cuticles because he claimed it was “more money”. Place was not clean and he was very VERY rude. My nails are dirty underneath my “no chip French tip manicure”. So disappointed and a waste of money. EVERYTIME I go they charge me a different price. I would absolutely not recommend this place to anyone.

I went in today to get my nails done... I am not happy with the way they turned out at all.... i asked for coffin shaped nails and they do not look coffin shaped at all and didnt have time to stay longer... then she said the longer I want the nails the more it would cost... i mean really! I picked out a color and she gave me a total of 38, cool no problem at all but then as I was going on with time I realized I was running out of time and thought no chip would be a better way to go so we did that and all the sudden it shot up to 51 dollars... lets be real im in the industry, the difference between no chip and regular polish is that 1 cures under the light and the other you have to wait for it to dry... there is no reason it should jump up that high. Another problem i had was the girl had no communication skills whatsoever and wouldnt tell me specifically how much it would be until it was done! I will never go back to this place... complete rip off and my nails look like junk!

I made an appointment online with Ann but when I arrived Ann wasn’t even there.The website said a full set of a acrylic nails was $25 and I get that with the pandemic prices have increased but Lisa who did my nails average charged me $33 plus an additional $12 for having long nails. So $45 for a full set seemed very pricey. It kinda felt like they make it up as they go. I’m not happy with this place anymore

I came to this salon about 2-3 weeks ago to get acrylic nails done. I chose this salon because of the enticingly low prices, however luxury-seeming services, as displayed on their website. I was highly disappointed, and next time I will go back to my regular salon which is higher in price, but much more worth the money. I was not a walk in, and actually made an appointment, but only 5 minutes after I sat down to get my nails done, another client came in claiming that the lady who was doing my nails should be doing hers. It really was not too big of an issue but should have been a red flag to me. The lady doing my nails rushed through the process extremely quickly, and anyone who has gotten acrylic nails before knows that it is a somewhat lengthy process. My nails were finished BEFORE my mother’s manicure AND pedicure, and we started at the exact same time. Another issue is that the HYGIENE is HORRIBLE. The lady doing my nails had cut me three times with her tools (I never saw her clean her tools once) and one cut was so bad that it was still bleeding by the time that I left the salon. (Blood was dripping down my finger.) For the next two days my nail was red and painful. Not only that but the blood remained on my nails, sealed under the acrylic, for the remainder of the time I had them on my nails. Now for the acrylic itself, the shape was VERY uneven, clunky, and extremely thick. My cuticles were not clipped off and they basically just looked like old acrylics on the application day. I wish I had taken a picture of the UNEVENESS of my nails, but I honestly just wanted them off and I never want to look at them again. I also asked for no-chip, but the polish was peeling off in a week. I asked for an almond shape, but just got bumpy, round, lopsided nails that pointed all in different directions. As for the lady who was doing my nails, she seemed slightly rude, and never really talked to me other than to tell me to put peroxide on the wounds when I got home. She seemed like she did not really want to do my nails and just wanted to get it over with as soon as possible. This salon is extremely off-putting and I will NEVER EVER come back again. I cannot recommend this salon to anybody at all.

I came on the table 3 lady likes to half do your nails I came here @ 6;30 pm after work they close @ 8pm I complained and stopped her as she was put on the a Joel and had not properly drilled my nails than started putting jel on a little not even looking at my nails half polish wasn’t even taken all the way off she got mad began to speak other language went to get on her phone rude as can be poor customer service

My first time visiting a nail salon since Covid shut down. I did a basic no chip mani and pedi and paid $68 plus tips l. I do not mind paying for this service but my nails was not worth the price. My nails looks like some untrained nail technician.Update: Lee was very professional and took his time on my nails. I appreciate the professionalism on fixing my nails and making it right. Came here last time to get a new coat for my nails and was impressed by the huge collection of polish and gel colors they had. Their services were really good. They gave warm welcome whatever you made an appointment or not. The salon was really clean. They keep everything well organized and did clean up after every customer. Love this place.

Would also give them a 0 if I could. My friend and I came here and it took over 2 hours for us to get dip manicures. my friends nails were super thick and the color was splotchy. They did re-do her nails (why it took so long) and rushed through and they were still terrible. The blue color that I picked is actually brown and sparkly- who knew- and it chipped in 2 days- like chipped on several nails and is lifting. I will also say they did not soak my hands before doing cutical work and my hands were dry and it hurt so bad, both of our nails were ground down super thin and were tender for days. this was my first time here and I will never go back. Total waste of my time and money and my nails LITERALLY hurt for 2 days every time I even typed something at work. Terrible.

If you want to get your nails done by them trust me on that my daughter 2 year old daughter does better job than them... i prefer all of you try a european ladies they know how to do nails you wont be dissapoited guys.

HORRIBLE!they paid to have my review removed.The workers were extremely rude and did a poor job on my acrylics. Within 1 day, two acrylics broke and 4 chipped! I went in and asked for a refund or for them to at least redo it and they said I would need to pay $6 per nail...Ridiculous

I was going to this place pretty often, but yesterday me and my mom went to this place to get our pedicure done, lady that was doing pedicure for my mom finished her faster while Oder lady was still working on my, I saw how lady who was doing my moms pedicure just moved to next chair and started doing pedicure for next person without ever changing her tools I also heard from my friend that she was waiting to get her manicure done and saw same thing instead of sterilizing her tools she just put it in the drawer and when my sister asked about sterilization, she changed it for new one . I didn’t believe it until I saw it myself yesterday, please pay attention

I’ve never seen my nails come out so bad and for them to charge me $80 for a dip nail polish and a pedicure and then when I told her I have a issue with the nails she tried slapping on more topcoat to make it more shiny I’ve never coming back here again

I came in to get my nails done at this salon, the same day my nail cracked and the polish came off. I came back a few days later when I had a chance and the male who greeted me was rude and told me to pick my color and wait. How about helping me find the color I used! I waited 15 minutes before I was even seated or helped! Not to mention when the tech was taking off the rest of my no chip polish I told her she was hurting me, she laughed... not happy with this place.

Best manicure Ive ever gotten. After 2 weeks my regular manicure, not gel, looks fantastic. Pedicure looks great too. The salon is clean and the staff is very friendly and welcoming, by the end of my appointment I was being addressed by my first name. This will definitely be my new salon!

If I could give them a zero I would. This my third time coming to get my nails done here and I have NOT been satisfied anytime. The first time a guy did the powdered dip it was such a horrible job that I had to have another young lady had to fix them. Then here it is again almost a year later and I went for the liquid IBD solar gel and again terrible job. Filing looks horrible, they dont put enough gel on the nail so that it will be strong instead they cake on the shalac gel polish. The lady that did them that said she knew how certainly did not. They should not advertise a service they clearly cannot perform. I had to leave their shop and go to another to have it corrected. The other shop said my nails were so bad he had to do a new full set minus the tips but he had to re sculpt the tips that were filed so horribly. And of course they will not give my money back.

I moved to Palatine a couple of months ago, and Modern Nail Spa has been my go to nail salon. It takes about 30 minutes to get there from my house, but it really is worth the drive.The staff members there are always on top of things and are very professional when it comes down to their job. I absolutely love everything they do, including their back rubs and how they take care of you. In my opinion, it is really hard to find another nail salon that compares to this one that also has a reasonable price. Every time I go there, they treat me like a queen and I cant wait to go back.

Super unprofessional, I booked an appointment online through their website only to show up and for them to say it wasnt in the book. Waited for over a half hour with multiple people (who didnt have appointments) going in front of me until I finally complained, only to be sassed by David who decided to say well next time dont book online. They finally decided to do my nails but completely rushed it and 3 ended up breaking in less than a week, one of them broke only 2 days after. Worst experience Ive ever had there.

The one great thing about this place is that employees dont talk to each other or to you. They have a quiet policy which is great on the ears. I usually dont review places after only one visit, but this place is so awesome that I had to! The ladies were so sweet too! I will definitely be back!

This nail salon is awesome. Technicians here are all artist. They have fabulous designs that I want to try. Last time they worked on my Hawaiian Manicure. It stared with a hand bath in fruit soak. Then it continued with dead sea salt glow, light exfoliations with sloughing scrub. Then a layer of skin softening sea butter with paraffin mask and warm mitts were applied. I could tell the different. My hands were super soft after the treatment. So love it

$25 for Lavender Luxury Manicure, thats a great deal... Soothing aroma therapy, sea salt and lavender scrub, lotion, paraffin mask, etc.... So nice. David did a great job on my hands. The owner Lee is very nice and professional....

Ask for Lan!! She was a sweetheart from the beginning and made me laugh. Out of all the nail places I’ve been to, she was the first person to talk to me as she did my nails. She was so friendly and I got to know her very well. The rest of the staff were nice too.Lan did a fabulous job on my no chip and pedicure. Would 100% go again!

I went to Modern Nail Spa to get my nails done because I heard so many good things about them. I got a no chip which should last 10-14 days. 2 days after my nails started to chip. I was out of town at a wedding and was upset that they started to chip. I went back right when I got back into town, with my receipt in hand. There was a lady who approached me to see what I needed and I explained the situation. They asked me who did my nails I pointed her out and thought that it would be a quick fix. Sure enough, they were grilling me about what table number I was sitting in. I had NO idea there were table numbers and they were rude about the situation. The lady who did my nails said that she never saw me before in her life and was very defensive. After about 5 minutes they said they would redo my nails. 2 days later they started to chip again. I will not be back to this nail salon.

NEVER coming here again! Due to the rushing the nail Tech who was doing my pedicure cut my toe with the pumice stone and did not apologize. After the pedi my feet weren’t any softer, obviously scrubbing the wrong areas, my toe burns every time I walk on it.

They cannot do acrylic nails, they fall off in less than a week and you have to pay for them to fix it!!? I paid $57 in two weeks because of their mistake and they fell off again!!! I work as a hairdresser and if anyone at my shop messes up a haircut we fix it for free because that is how you have a successful business. I will never be going back to this nail salon and I advise everyone to do the same. If I could give them a less than one star I would.

The girl who did was nails was in a rush for literally nothing, after she done with doing my nails she was just sitting down doing nothing, so there was no reason to rush so much, one was waiting for her and she even told me two times to “make it fast” once when I was picking out my nail color and the second when I was washing my hands, so unprofessional... she made no effort on my nails, she made my acrylics so bad they literally staring breaking the same day and that has never happened to me in 5 years I’ve been getting my nails done, horrible job, super unprofessional, I didn’t even want to go back to get my nails fix bc it was just a waist of my time!

Brilliant service

Poor customer service. I got there, guy sitting by front deal didny acknowledge me or anything. I stood there for about 5 minutes then decided to pick color, maybe he then would ask what I wanted. Another customer came in and he right away got up and asked what she needed and I turned around and he just sat back down on his chair. Plain rude. So since they obviously dont want my money, I put the mail polish back and left.

I got my nails done on Tuesday and today is Friday and four of my nails are lifting already. I go in at 6:40 and they close at eight and explain to them what happened and the man tells me that they are booked all the way until 8 oclock I said well what am I supposed to do because for my nails are coming off. He offers to put nail glue on them to fix the problem tells me to come back in the morning I said I need them fixed tonight. Ive been agreed to come in the morning and then I was told that I have to let the same technician who did my nails and messed them up redo them because she is the one that did them in the first place. Why would I want the person who messed up my nails to do them again. He then tells me he has nothing until the later afternoon. If you have a un happy customer it would be in your best interest to fix the problem specially if it was your fault thats just my opinion

I went in for an anti stress pedicure which includes 20 min massage of reflexology. Im extremely disappointed in the reflexology that they advertise on the website. The entire prcocess was okay....there was no wait. They have a nice shop and its clean. The staff is friendly but I will never go there again because the person who did the pedicure just seemed like she really hated her job. She didnt even do all of the steps of a real pedicure. She set a timer on her phone for the 20 min and the massage ..she focused more on legs instead of feet. Which is not what is described on the website. The foot massage did not include reflexology at all and as a customer I definitely feel I didnt get my moneys worth for what I paid. I dont think I will be back simply for this reason. 3 stars for a clean place, no wait, and friendly staff.

Mom had a half assed manicure done. Nail tec was rushing and didnt even do a full manicure (cuticle treatment) and left her nails all scratched up and looking terrible. Poor service. Also had eyebrows done and had them not even matching, the tec proceeded to say oh you can just draw it in, excuse me? Will never return again. This was an hour before closing time, she had plenty of time to do her job.

I had 2 bad experiences earlier this summer and against my better judgement i returned on 09/01/16 due to convenience near my employment....I told guy I wanted a no chip gel set of nails. He proceeded to do a manicure first which I thought was weird and i noticed he put gel on my regular nails. I stopped him and informed him no i wanted a gel set with the tip. why would i get no chip on my extremely short nails. He became irritated and began talking in his native language. He was twisting and turning fingers and when i became irritated he stopped..I asked for round short nails and he said well see..what the f**k? ok now he finished and my bill was $45.00. normally gel nails are $30. this bastard charged me for the manicure even though i did not asked for one because he mis-understood me. Lee the one who sits at the front desk offer to discount me if i return for a fill in and he apologized for his co-workers rude behavior. They are overpriced and rude. the polish always look old and outdated.

Clean salon and tools, updated and modernized furniture and technology, skillful and talented staff, and amazing customer and nail services at such cheap prices too! What more can you ask for from a nail salon!?

Move to palatine about a year ago since went to a few place and werent very happy with service till now Lisa does my nails and she is fantastic . But I do have a few complaints about the place as well. The front window area inside were people sit and wait is very dirty and also filled with cob webs and the guy that takes appts dont always get them right. I once made an appt for my two nieces to get there nails done for the fun of it while they where visiting and when we walked in the ladies said that the appts werent even in the book. I was so mad. The ladies were so nice and took my nieces anyways but let me tell you if it wasnt for Lisa I would be gone a long time ago. CLEAN THAT FRONT WINDOW AREA PLEASE ! ITS GROSS!!!!!

First i want to say I have had my nails done here a few times and they provide excellent work.However, recently I went in to have my eyelashes done and this was a completely different story. I was passed between three people, i mentiomed if they are not comfortablw I have zero issue with it and cam go to normal place in crystal lake. I mean its your eyes people. The eyelashes themselves were ok, the metal barrel they used to curl them was unusual and concerning, using a lighter to heat it was a bit strange, but what do I know I dont do this for a living. Then she says can I clean up your eyebrows while Im here.. I say sure.Im all done brows are red as hell, eyelashes are pretty good so far Im happy.Ok so when I get home and truly look at my eyebrows (my eyebrows are light) I realize she has provided me with a hack job that only a pencil can help and its still awful. My eyelashes begin to fall out by morning and my eyebrows are a hot mess. Ya...wont EVER be spending my money here again in fact the one star is to much for this experience.

Waited forever took other walk in before me.. They were rude the lady I had would cut my nails down and there too long can home and filed them down and there boxie the look bad they had a very little selecation of colors all around bad... will never go to this place again..
