To all felons and people who need work quickly. If you have a felony they will no put you to work no matter how old it is. Not even if it was sponged. To everyone else the background check is two weeks before you get anything.plus they want 7 years of your wage history just to get into any ship yard. Do not waste your time applying for them.

Great place good people very friendly

All the men(especially Reginal) are very disrespectful to ALL the woman that look for work. Reported an accident to Human Resource, but nothing was done. To all wives, sisters, daughters, and other women. Don’t allow these men to disrespect you for money, and be aware of their tactics.

SCAM ALERT: They asked for all my information to do a federal background check and after 3 FULL MONTHS of phone tag tell me they cant read my documents. Yes, they said couldnt read an OFFICIAL IRS tax transcript after 3 FULL MONTHS of the run around. I have done 3 federal background checks before and one earlier this year with no problem. Now this scam company has my birth certificate and all my information and doing who knows what with if. Be careful with this staffing agency... They are information collectors and not really concerned about finding you a job.

They give you the ran around tell you one thing in orientation!!! Like you will be working within a weeks time and then your background check takes forever to get processed!!! Just did an interview for CSB in Norfolk my background check has been done I start work when the state opens back up!!! It took my background exactly two weeks to come back!!!Reginald try’s to sleep with all the females that come to work for them!!! I am so done with tidewater staffing in Newport News.

The whole experience was done in a very smooth but quick fashion, the staff was very helpful you could tell they enjoy assisting anyone who walks through their door. Recommend Newport news office anyone seeking great work with a staff that cares . 5stars!!!

This is my experience at Tidewater staffing. I submitted my resume for office positions and light industrial on the website. I wasn’t notified of any positions until maybe about a month later. This is when Christiana called and explained she had a position open as an office assistant at Tidewater staffing on Florida Avenue in Portsmouth I was elated to hear this as I was still looking for a permanent position. She explained that I needed to fill out an application and go to orientation and the position was mine. I went into the office early the next day to fill application and was told to come back on Monday for the orientation I arrived at 7:15 ready to go to orientation. Levi conducted the orientation and I did my paperwork for background and was drug tested. After the orientation I went to Levi and asked if there were further instructions for me he went to call someone at the Virginia Beach he came back 5 minutes later and told he had to wait for a call from Christiana. She calls back and tells him she will send a link to my email that will have a typing test and personality test. All this time I’m thinking this is going well I will be able to start tomorrow but no I open my personal email on someone else’s computer only to receive the personality test. They call Christiana back and they couldn’t reach her so in the mean I took the personality test Levi stated that by the time you finish we should have the other link or further instructions. During this time the acting manager I’m not sure of his name maybe Darnell but he came in and he introduced himself he talked about the office and what I could be doing he stated that days may be more chaotic then others and would I be flexible with the the day to day office demands and I said absolutely. Around this time they still could not get in contact with Christiana so the manager wanting me follow through with instructions tried to look for a test for me take just so I can send it over to Virginia Beach He finally found a couple of websites that I could complete the test I took about 6 typing and then I was also told I needed to take an Excel test. Nobody in the office knew what this test was and couldn’t find it Someone was told it was on IBM and then the office staff stated they never took that test in addition the manager stated I wouldn’t even need these skills in the role I would be in At this time I’m a little perplexed as to why this was different then what we (Christiana an I) talked about on the phone. Christiana comes in office around 2pm never introduces herself I didn’t know it was her until someone said her name I walked over to her and introduced myself and let her know about the test I took I told her he gave me a test off the internet she let me know that was the wrong test and proceeded to give the correct one. Needless to say after all of that I never heard anything I’ve called a couple of times but just felt like I got the runaround. I hope the owner does see this and perhaps keeps a closer on who they elect to vet out potential applicants.

These people could be using your personnel information for some type of fraud, because I went into the building today and I was told that the company needed 2 different background checks, one for local, and one for federal, and the first guy I spoke with 2 weeks prior had already received my federal background from there own Staffing company !!The reason I know Tidewater Staffing received it, because I got an email alert to my gmail account with a print out copy of my FEDERAL BACKGROUND.Then there was no eye contact with these people as all 3 came from the back laughing 2 ladies and one younger guy stating that they do a background check there, because he does the dirty work, and then they need another background check, when I had already told this guy that YOUR Company already received it, and in addition to that they didnt know how to read the IRS papers, so they told me I have to give them the address of each employer, and contact numbers .......MY ADVICE .......Stay far away from this place .....YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED .

Worked here about 2 months ago and I will never work here again, they’re short on staff, highly unorganized and Reginald is too, too flirty...shouldn’t be flirting with the employees at all actually....showing favoritism and all this mess, just was a unprofessional environmentMy pay was never right, and the staff acting like they dreaded to fix any problems.

My experience with this location was a nightmare. If the President of the organization were standing in the building, they would operate 100% differently than how they operate on a daily basis. It wont take you very long to piece that together after youre sentences are interrupted by any of the very very very very very very rude people who answer phones here. This location can even act as its own governing body ACCORDING TO STACY AND THE HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT AT THIS LOCATION. ALL CALLS ARE MONITORED TO USE AGAINST YOU, THE INFORMATION THAT THEY OBTAIN DURING THESE CALLS WILL NOT AIDE YOU IN DEFENSE AGAINST THIS LOCATION. As it pertains to greivances and complaints being made against them; They will in fact tell you that you cannot be helped if you wished to file such greivances. If you persevered the truly hurtful ways that they handle you, you can still be labeled by the recruiters here as a bad hire. You will be secretly picked on about anything, they will make whatever comments they want about you in private. Your confidentiality is at a greater risk than possible reward if you wish to be viewed as reputable. The entire office down to the human resources department treated me with bigotry and systematically attempted defamation of my character, which IS ILLEGAL. I attempted to call and they said I had an attitude or an issue without logically assessing anything. They made a point of trying to make me into a bad person so that they cover their own jobs. They will slander anyone they have to in order to absolve themselves of any guilt. They treated me disrespectfully, hanging the phone up over a dozen times in my face as i continued to call back and make my complaints about how I was being treated. They even claimed I harassed them and concluded that I was to be INELIGIBLE for hire at this location ever again. Stacy hung up in my face dozens of times, human resources hung up and claimed that I did it. Anything they could do to disservice me and treat me rudely without risk of their positions, they did! No-one at this office who answered the phone for me on Monday March 11 was professional. My phone calls are all recorded so I can legally prove that employees and recruiters were all talking about me in the background. Even laughter and rude remarks were overheard but I Had no choice but to ignore them and stand up for my constitutional right to make my complaint about this location by staying avid in my attempts at seeking justice. The goals of these individuals who work here are NONE TO IMPROVE YOUR QUALITY OF WORK EXPERIENCE, NONE TO SERVICE YOU WITH HOSPITALITY. THEY HAVE NO DESIRE TO HIRE ANYONE IN PARTICULAR, NO ONE IS SPECIAL EVERYONE MUST BUT EQUALLY UNSPECIAL. THE TYPES OF ATTITUDES YOULL ENCOUNTER WHEN YOU CALL WILL BE HARD TO WORK WITH. ITS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO GET A WORD IN AT YOUR OWN PACE. THE MOMENT YOU FEEL WRONGED THAT YOU COULD NOT SPEAK OVER ANOTHER HUMAN BEING, THEY WRITE IN YOUR NOTES THAT YOURE A RUDE PERSON!!!!!! LOL THEY WILL LAUGH IN SARCASM AT YOUR FEEBLE EXISTENCE IF YOU SEEM VULNERABLE. THEY WILL HURT YOUR FEELINGS WITHOUT 2ND THOUGHT. THEY WILL OPERATE AS IF THEY ARE ABOVE THE LAW AT POINTS!! THEY WILL SHUN YOUR AMENDED RIGHT TO BE OFFENDED AT YOUR DISCRIMINATION. THEY WILL IN FACT BE UNPROFESSIONAL AGAIN TO ANOTHER PERSON SEEKING EMPLOYMENT HERE!! IF YOU GOT ON ANYONES NERVES YOUD BE ASKED TO SEEK EMPLOYMENT AT THE SISTER BRANCHES( SUCH AS CHESAPEAKE). YOU CAN BE SURE TO HAVE LIES WRITTEN ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER IN THEIR PERSONAL NOTES ABOUT YOU IF YOU STAND UP FOR YOURSELF. 1/10 PEOPLE WILL REGRET HAVING WASTED TIME AND RESOURCES FOR MONTHS FOLLOWING UP WITH THIS LOCATION. PEOPLE WORKING HERE FEEL THAT THEY CAN DO NO WRONG. THEY WILL NOT HEAR YOU OUT ABOUT ANYTHING AGAINST THEM. You are essentially making a grave mistake seeking employment from this office. If youre like me and you reside in Newport News, this is your local branch. However, if youre like me and you suffer from anxiety youll want to stay clear of calling this location and spilling your true heart, BEWARE!!! 🙏
